Disable/delay Status Message Popup

Is there any way to disable or delay (remind me in 15, 30 minutes, etc) the Status Message popup that appears on the PC screen for errors such as out of paper on the P1606dn printer? Even a minimize button would be a nice touch.
It's fine to pop up the error to let you know the printer is out of paper, but you click ok and 5 or 10 seconds later it pops up again... and again.... and again.
You either feed it paper *right away* or you have to drag the whole status message off to the bottom or side of your screen and leave it open in order to get any work done.
There are times when I don't want to get up from my desk *immediately* to get paper... I'll finish what I'm doing and then grab some paper on the way back from getting a cup of coffee.
Not being able to "tone down" this status message is worse than a car full of kids on a long trip... "can I have paper now", "what about now", "can I have it now"... annoying!

Unfortunately that isn't possible at the moment due to Microsoft not adding the option to do so in the operating system.

Disabling status message and conversion Window

Is it possible to completely disable the conversion window that appears when I want to print something to a .pdf file. I can press I button to hide the window, but have to do that every time the window appears. Also, after the document has been converted a status message appears in my task bar for a couple of seconds. I'm also interested in disabling that. Can anyone help

I had encountered this too.
When you make a set_window_property(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW,window_state,maximize); this is not really a maximize but forms takes the whole available space of the screen. that's why your status bar is partially hidden by the windows taskbar
If you take a look at the buttons controlling the window, you will see that the button for maximizing the window is not in the state maximized.
If you click on it then you will really maximize the window and the status bar will appear normally with the taskbar under it.
If you click form minimizing the window, it will again take the whole space...
A workaround is to play with the FORMS_MDI_WINDOW width an height after you have set the window_state to maximize.

E52 - Message beep and a status message that disap...

How do I change the behawiour of the E52 when a status message appears on the display together with a beep.
Everytime ie. "charging is done " the phone sounds a beep and shows a message. unfortunately the message disapear within few seconds, to fast to be observed.
Does anyone know how to disable this beep or how to incvrease the delay before the message is removed.

Did you remember to completely power cycle the entire network?
You would want to do this after any update or change to the network.
If you did not do this yet......things are out of sequence.
Power off everything on the network.....all devices.....power down order is not important
Wait a few minutes
Start the modem first and let it run a minute or two by itself
Start the next device connected to the modem the same way
Work your way out on the network starting each device about a minute apart
Check the network

How to open a message popup and keep the sequence running ?

I have some steps in my sequence to initialize communication ports that takes a few seconds. As i have the trace off i want to display a message popup to tell the user that the sequence is doing the init. After the init steps are done i want to close the popup out of the sequence without pressing any button.
Is there a possibility in TestStand to do this ?
The normal Message popup stays until a key is pressed and even pauses the sequence while active.

You could call your message popup in a subsequence as new execution and terminate this execution programmatically after your init steps have finished.
In order to do this you have to specify (module) the sequence call step that calls your subsequence:
-Multithreading and Remote Execution = Run in a New Execution
-Settings: Initally Hidden and Tracing disable, Restartable, Close Window when done, Wait for Execution to complete: Do not wait, Process Model Option: Do not use a Process Model
-Store an Object Reference to the New Execution in: e.g. Locals.ExecutionRef
After your Init steps you insert a ActvieX/COM Action Step that terminates the new execution:
-Object Reference: Locals.ExecutionRef
-Automation Server: NI TestStand API 3.1
-Object Class: Execution
-Call Method or Access Property: Call Method
-Method: Terminate
This will terminate your new execution showing the message popup.

How can I insert the reusult of a failed test of a secuence in the status batch result status message box ?

Hello, I'm totally new to programming. I started with LabView and test stand to make some test as VI's. When test stand secuence ends, the batch result box (batchmodel.seq) pops out for the several uut's tested in every socket. I'd like to add to the status message the information fo the test wich failed instead of searching this info in the xml (or html) report.

Hi Joel:
Every report in TestStand comes with message on top of the report (below the header) that tells you which step in the sequence caused the failure. Hence, you do not need to read through the entire report to get this information. If you still want to use the banner to report this information you can do the following:
1. After the sequence has executed you will have to add a step in the Post-UUT sequence.
2. Here you can either choose to show a message popup where you can display the step that failed
3. You would have to use the following variables:
If ( RunState.Sequence.Locals.ResultList[0].Status = "Failed") ? RunState.Sequence.Locals.ResultList[0].TS.StepName
4. You can also try to modify the modelsupport2.dll file for the functions that bring up the popup banner to add more information.

Older version has the option to disable Skype Status and get rid of the Skype icon on Android status bar. But latest 4.4.0.31835 could not disable Skype Status in notifications settings. :/

Please bring back the option to disable the Skype icon on Android status bar. This is the main reason I uninstall Skype. :/
Kudos to the team, the apps is really smooth and fluid to use. Would be nice if you guys are following the Android Design Principles and using Google Cloud Messaging for push notification to improve User Experience and battery life.

Long click on this notification a sub menu having field "App info" would appear goto App Info. You can goto there by "Manage Apps">"Skype" also.
Uncheck Option "Show Notifications" A dialog will open. Don't worry about notifications for now just click OK. Now the notification icon skype has also been removed.
Now simply check "Show notification again". After doing this you would get notifications but skype icon would not be shown in the status bar anymore.
Issue: this is just a trick you need to repeat this every time sign out and sign in again. Mostly you don't do that so no need to worry.

How to capture ALV messages(popup window) in BDC...

Hello Experts,
I am currently doing a recording for transaction ABT1(Intercompany asset transfer)
and I noticed that messages are displayed via ALV popup if you post it. The messages
contain the posting information(what company it is posted, document number, etc)
Now, is there a way to capture those messages? because I noticed that it is not captured
in my recording so I have no way of knowing if it was successfully posted or not.
Also, is there a way to supress transaction/status messages in a transaction?(E.g. posting
will take place in an earlier fiscal year, etc)

Deal with teststand message popup

when I add a message popup in my sequence,I need two button: Ok(button1) and Cancel(Button2).and set timeout.
My question is like this; I need get the status when execute,if uesr click ok,the sequence should go to next step,the other stauts,the sequence should abort executing.
example:

Disable autmatic mdb message process on server start

How can i disable the automatic MDB message processing when the server is started. I want to manually start(control) the the MDB message processing after the server startup. The application ear contains ejb modules and web module. is it possible to stop an ejb module in an application. I know, we can stop the entire application.
there is a parameter in weblogic application descriptor which delays the message processing till the server is fully started. then also it's not possible to stop/delay further.
the deployment scenario is weblogic+websphere MQ configured as mq foreign server.

WL JMS provides a programmatic or administrative option for this purpose. The feature is called "destination suspend/resume", and it can be set before shutdown so as to start the destination in a "consumption paused" state after restart. MQ may provide a similar administrative option. I'm not sure if there's a simple way to do what you want with MDBs directly - you might want to try posting to the WebLogic EJB forum, but if MQ doesn't provide an option, perhaps you can forward the MQ messages into WebLogic JMS destinations (either using an MDB or a Messaging Bridge), and then change your MDB to use the WebLogic JMS destinations.

Reporting Services Point status message errors.

My Reporting Services Point seems to work OK -all reports are available and run correctly both through the console and via the website. However, I am seeing the following warning in the SMS_SRS_REPORTING_POINT status messages every hour:
"The SQL Reporting Services datasource on Reporting point server "Databaseserver.contoso.com" is missing or has been changed outside of Configuration Manager. It will be rebuilt based on the RSP configuration."
Here's what I think is causing the issue, but I don't know how to solve it.
The reports database is on the same remote SQL server as my site database. Because these site systems were installed automatically through the SCCM installation process, they show up in the Servers and Site Systems Role without an intranet FQDN. However,
when I add the RSP to the database server, it creates a new entry because when manually adding site systems SCCM insists on automatically adding the intranet FQDN. So I now have two separate entries for the same server:
\\DBServer01 - component server, site database server, site system
\\DBServer01.contoso.com - component server, reporting services point, site system
Any thoughts on how to stop these errors?

In the past when I have seen this, they will automatically clean themselves up after a few days. (aka up to a week later). Have it clean itself up yet?

Continuing the "status message problems" issue...

in response to ralph johns suggestion to delete the buddy list file from my library to solve the outdated status message problem...
RJ- haha.. i'm not sure i'm going to try the "beat it with a stick" approach quite yet.. i think i found out whats causing the problem. when i would use iChat on campus using our school's wireles, i didnt have the problem of outdated status messages. but when i come home, i do.. and i believe the reason is because i'm using a Belkin G Wireless router. although i do hard line, i'm almost positive this is the problem. i did some research online and it isnt one of the approved routers for iChat.
so is my only option to buy a new compatible router to solve the problem? or is there somewhere i can go that can tell me what ports to open for a belkin router?? we're getting close... i can feel it!!! haha thanks..

in order to quickly fix that problem, I would just adapt the provisioning function where the warning shows up and make sure that the function uError is called so that an error is created instead of a warning.
Are you using the SAP Provisioning Framework or a custom provisioning framework. Which repository are you using?

I have file upload program in which when user uploads the file
i want to show animated progress file
i.e. ( circle.gif )
when upload finishes it should display message :
File < file name > uploaded successfully.
How do i achieve it ?
since when i am uploading file , image is displayed but
due to upload process image is hanged up and did not showing
