Disable scaffolding button in sidekick using ACL?

Is it possible to use ACL to hide the scaffolding button in Sidekick?

I haven't tried it for the scaffolding, but I did once lock a user group out of the design mode, by removing the ACL for the etc/designs/<my app>, while leaving access to the children of that node, which made up the design. However it wasn't graceful, because the button remained active on the sidekick, it just didnt do anything when clicked. Try removing the ACL for just the scaffolding node, but be sure to test extensively because it may have some unintended consequences.

Cannot disable a button 2 times using an EL expression

Using a EL expression for the disabled attribute on a button does not work the second time... It will not disable again.
Below is a simple example.... The EL updates the text of the button but does not enable/disable the button.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

try two things:
1- check your backingbean scope if it is request scope try to change it. (try make it session scope).
if it is not working ....

Use rich:fileUpload/ to enable/disable my buttons with checking file names

I need to upload some files with using <rich:fileUpload>,and i did it but i need to check file names for some reasons and enable or disable upload button but my problem is that when i open my modal panel and click add button of <rich:fileUpload> and then add upload button of <rich:fileUpload>(not my upload button but upload button wich <rich:fileupload> has) i check file name but the button is not enable/disable until i close my modal panel and open it agin,so i need to know how to modify my code to make it work?

No the problem is that file is being checked on server side, but if file is invalid the button Upload(my button ,not standart rich:fileUpload) must be disbaled,and shown,but i have to close this modal panel and open it again to see my button enabled/disabled

I need to disable a html page button. It gets re-enabled afer a validation process is run on the page and errors for the form are returned. I need a way of writing a validation process using pl/sql returning boolean, that can disable the button again.
I've tried:

But in control panel -> user accounts -> Change user account control settings
I can set the settings to always notify
and default notify when programs try to make changes to computer.
But I can't set it to never prompt because only administrator as power to do that and if I set never prompt in administrator account the settings in standard user remains in
always notify.
so please let me know, if there is any other way to over come the problem.
Main problem is application from unknown source always prompt for admin password.
I need to disable it from prompting for admin password to run applications in standard accounts.

Hi,
You can't disable an A tag (FireFox, for example, will still let you click the "link").
What you could do would be to create a second button that doesn't work and only show one of these at a time.

How to disable a button using Java Script in Apex

I was trying to disable a button when the value of a select list item in the same page is equal to zero. Following are the steps which I did.
1) Created a new button template as <table class="t9StandardButton" id="#BUTTON_ID#" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" summary="">
2) Changed the existing button template to the newly created button template.
3) Added onchange="javascript:fdisplay(this);" to form element value of select list
4) Added the following java script in the page header

In the 'Button Attributes' field of the button enter 'id='thisButton'.
Modify the button template to include the substitution string #BUTTON_ATTRIBUTES# . This should be put in the anchor tag in the template defintion.
Modify your Javascript to reference the above id as

Oracle Apps Sys Admin -- Disabling a button on a form

Hi Guys,
I want to disable a button on a form in oracle applications. Normally, i disable a button by goin to that MENU, SUBMENU(if there are any) and take the button's sub-function and add it in FUNCTION and MENU Exclusions in the reponsibility define form.
But in some forms in Oracle Inventory, i have a NEW button and am not able to find a sub-function for that. NEW and OPEN , two buttons are there . How can i disable or make that button vanish from that form. I know that it can be done thru CUSTOM.pll but without custom.pll , is there a way using this sub-functions or watever.

Yes I know about form personalization, however I still couldn't hide 2 buttons. Open vision database, under purchasing superuser > requisition summary, if you click the Find button it will open Requisition Header Summary window. In that window there are New and Open button. Now, I couldn't hide those 2 buttons cause I couldn't found the name in Item. What's the name of those 2 buttons? Thanks.

For example say your PF sataus name is 'STATUS-100' and function code for create is 'CREATE'.
then in your part of code use the following syntax,
SET PF-STATUS 'STATUS-100' EXCLUDING 'CREATE'.
