My iPhone is disabled due to using the wrong password. Now its saying to connect to iTunes. When I connect to iTunes, it is saying to respond in the iPhone. However, there is no response at iPhone. Moreover, the power button is broken. what to do now!!

If you had ever gone to Settings>iCloud and tried to turn notes syncing on you would have been prompted to turn on Mail to create an iCloud email account first. If you never synced them with iCloud they cannot be recovered unless you backed up your phone to your computer using iTunes. If you did back up to your computer using iTunes, restoring the backup to another iPhone would recover them; or, you could purchase and use 3rd party software to extract them from the backup (like iPhone Backup Extractor).

My daughter forgot her passcode and I need to wipe/restore her disabled iPod. But the power button is broken. How do I do this?
One suggestion:
I found some similar discussions where lllaass recommends using RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode. I downloaded RecBoot, but couldn't get it to work because "iTunesMobileDevice.DLL is missing". In fact, the instructions for RecBoot say "The program requires LibUSB utility whos setup is included in the zip package", only ... no such utility was included in the zip package. How do I get RecBoot to work?
Any other suggestions?

Resetting Phone with No Power Button and iPhone Not Backed Up Message Blocking the Slide to Power Off Feature

I've learned how to reset the phone after an iPhone Not Backed Up message cannot be clicked off of, but my Power button is not working and I've been using the greyed out screen button to lock the screen and power off. Now it is not working to turn the phone off for a reset because the iPhone Not Backed Up message is in the way of sliding the power off feature on the screen. Do I have any options?

Try a reset:
Hold the Sleep\Wake and Home Buttons until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears

IOS 7.1.2 update froze phone with broke power button

Last night during the update on my for 4S, the phone stopped about 70% through the update. It is now frozen and I cannot do a hard reset due to the power button having been broken for about the last eight months. Has anyone else experienced this and figured out a way to fix the frozen phone that cannot be hard reset?

A hard reboot is reportedly fixing the situation for those who have tried it, after their update stalls. If you are suffering through the same issue, here’s what to do: hold down the Home and Sleep/Wake button for several seconds. Do not let go until the screen goes dark, and you see the Apple logo appear. Release the button combination, and wait for the device to boot back to life.
This should complete the update, so make sure to check through Settings –> General — About, and see that you’re on iOS 7.1.2. If you’re not, just go through the update process again, and you should be good to go.

1) backup your phone
2) log to iCloud
3) erese your phone
4) pug and restore your phone from backup
.. I'm clearly starting to dislike this company and seriously considering switching to someone else.

My mac pro crashed. Apple genius people said to reinstall snow leopard. I did and it failed to start after i installed. I started with the power button, tried to install upgrades, and now I get only a grey screen with spining wheel.

I reinstalled snow leopard (10.6.3) over 10.6.8 because apple genious people said I had problems with my library files after a time capsule crash. I got an error message that it could not install because of an error. When I powered down and tried to restart, I get only a grey screen. My optical drive does not open so I can't restart from another source.

Restart, holding down the mouse button. That should eject the disc. Zap the PRAM and Reset the SMC. Then, pop in the install disc, restart with it in again, select your language, and, when the menu bar pops up, select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. select the boot volume and repair the disk.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select

Firefox v15 and up cause my computer (MAC OSX 10.8.2) to freeze for about 30 seconds every 15-30 seconds and forces me to turn it off with the power button. It only causes this after I have opened Firefox, my computer runs fine before opening Firefox. I have uninstalled Firefox and cleared my personal settings. I have installed future updates (16 and 17) and have run into the same issue. I cannot pull any information on RAM or CPU usage because when it happens it makes my computer unusable. Unfortunately I need to use FF for work and can't. I have tried the different responses on the forums to reduce the amount of RAM and CPU usage with no change in performance.

Someone at work also said they were having a problem with their power button not working? Is it hardware or maybe software?

I had the same problem with my new macbook air. It was scratchy and annoying so I updated the speaker's software and now it's perfect.

Hello, what all especially USBwise do you have connected to it?
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts (Users & Groups in later OSX versions)>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed. Or an errant process eating up RAM.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

Open console in Applications>Utilities, check the system log for the date/time of the last problem & the Startup right after that for clues.
