"Disabled User Operations" - - DVDSP default settings??

In Menu > Advanced there is a section titled "Disable User Operations", and by default DVDSP has selected a number of Playback Controls to be DISABLED:
Still Off
Pause On/Off
Forward Scan
Next Program
Previous Program
Should I leave these default DVDSP settings? Wouldn't it be better to let the user have full control? ie: I should not disable anything?

It is up to you and what you want the user experience to be. But for menus those make sense to disable

    For a regular DVD with a Main Menu and a Scene Selection menu which options should I have disabled?
    ThANKS!
    Ham

    Really depends on what you want the user to be able to do. Buttons and navigation should not be disabled so people can move around and go to selections.
    Resume usually also the same thing, people expect to usually resume off a menu
    On the Main Menu you may want to disable the Title/Menu commands so a user can not break out of the menu and "get lost" and on the scene selection menu set the menu command to the main menu and disable Title call.
    You may be fine with the default settings for the menu. Play with the DVD a bit when you make it and try various remote keys to see what you like, do not like for the project also.

    Hi,
    If am understood, I hope you are expect the authorization copy.
    Procedure
           1.      In the Administration  --> System Initialization  --> Authorizations window, choose the name of the user whose authorizations are to be copied. Hold the mouse button until a rectangle appears around the user name.
           2.      Drag the rectangle to the name of the user to whom to grant the authorizations.
           3.      Release the mouse button.
           4.      A system message prompts for confirmation of the copy operation.
           5.      Choose OK to confirm the operation. The authorizations are copied completely to the second user.

  • Disabling "User settings" option from all the WDA applications.

    Hello Experts,
    We have implemented SRM business package.We want to disable right click "User settings" option from all the applications presented in SRM BP.
    I know a way of disabling "User settings" by passing WDDISABLEUSERPERSONALIZATION  parameter. We dont want to follow this approach as there are many applications and it would be difficult to change all the applications.
    My question is do we have any settings ( may be in sicf ) which could disable "User settings" centrally for all WDA application on that particular server?
    Thanks

    When users click on share file default setting is:

    Can view and NOT mark an email invitation

    Hi,
    According to your description, you want to change default settings to
    can view and uncheck send an email invitation when user share file.
    To by default uncheck send an email invitation.  Go to the file "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\AclInv.aspx".
    You can change:
    <wssawc:InputFormCheckBox
    runat="server"
    id="chkSendEmail"
    Checked="True"
    LabelText="<%$Resources:wss,aclver_SendEmailCheckbox%>"
    To
    <wssawc:InputFormCheckBox
    runat="server"
    id="chkSendEmail"
    Checked="False"
    LabelText="<%$Resources:wss,aclver_SendEmailCheckbox%>"

  • User default settings

    Hi All,
    I need to set the default settings like date format,decimal notations etc of one user to another user.
    Kindly let me know how do I do this...I shall be thankful to all of you if u can suggest me some Function Modules to do this.
    Thanks,

    Hi Himanshu,
    I think you can set the default format for the date and decimal notation as follows:
    In SAP Easy Access screen System -->User Profile -->Own Data. In which, in the defaults tab you can change the change the formats for the user and save the settings.

  • Printer Queue Settings Mysteriously Reverting Back to Default Settings on 2008 R2 print servers

    Printer Queue Settings Mysteriously Reverting Back to Default Settings on 2008 R2 print servers
    We have 4 Windows Server 2008 R2 print servers, all of which has the same printer queues installed on them that are utilized by a 3rd party printing program that does a round-robin load balancing scheme.
    All printers are a combination of HP and Xerox all running some variation of the HP UPD and the Xerox UPD.  Some use the PCL 5 and some use the PCL 6 version determined by age of printer and need.
    There are typically two printer queues for each physical printer.
    Example:
    LOCATION_ROOM
    LOCATION_ROOM_TRAY2
    The regular queue is ok being left with default setting,
    The _TRAY2 queues are set to print to "labels" or "pre-printed" paper type or a specific tray.
    From time to time, these _TRAY2 queues will revert back to a factory default state and lose the setting to print to a specific paper type or tray.  Sometimes it happens to the _TRAY2 queue on all 4 servers, sometimes just 1 server, etc.  No rhyme
    or reason.
    Disabled Bi-directional options on both the HP and Xerox UPDs per another article on the internet that said bi-directional could cause the printer to send back settings to the driver and cause this issue.  Even with this option off, we continue to see
    printer _TRAY2 queue settings revert back to factory default and lose their specific paper and tray settings.  We have ruled out the possibility that users or other technicians are the ones making these changes so we suspect it is some interaction between
    the servers, printer drivers and printers themselves causing the issue.
    Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    I'd start by using one of the print drivers included in Windows for a few of the printers and confirm it's the universal driver that is causing the issue.
    HP installs some other processes and services on the machine which communicate with the HP devices.
    PML and something else.  You might want to shut those down and see if these processes are the ones modifying the settings.
    Run process monitor to truly identify which processes is causing the modifications.

  • Restoring the default settings for Audition CS6

    Fortunately you don't have to uninstall and reinstall Audition to do this - although that's certainly an option. Bear in mind that doing this will only work if you choose to delete your preferences as part of the process.
    There are several other options though, and I suggest reading through all of them before deciding which to use. We'll start, though, with the other simple one. If you start Audition with the 'shift' key held down, this will achieve the same result - the preference files won't be read, and the default (aka 'vanilla') ones will be reinstated. Certainly with a Mac (and probably a PC as well) you have to hold the 'shift' key down at least until the splash screen appears, otherwise it might not work.
    From here on, it gets a little more complicated, but you get more options. The reason for this is that in order to get at the individual preference files, we have to consider three different operating systems, XP, Windows 7, and OS X. By default, in all of them, the location of these files is hidden, and you have to reveal it. When you have done this, the path and files will be revealed.
    Revealing hidden folders:
    XP: In a folder, go to Tools>Folder Options>View and scroll down to the hidden folders entry. Select the 'Show' option. The path to the Preferences folder is C:\Documents and Settings\[user_name]\Application Data\Adobe\Audition\5.0
    Windows 7: In a folder, go to Organise>Folders and Search Options>View, and then it's the same as XP. The path to the Preferences folder is c:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Audition\5.0
    Mac OX: The Preferences are in a library folder, and are apparently stored twice. The locations of them are:
    /Users/[User_Name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Audition/5.0/
    /Users/[User_Name]/Library/Preferences/com.Adobe.Audition.5.0.plist
    There is a note about this at the end of this FAQ*.
    Anyway, there are, apparently, several ways to unhide them:
    1. The easiest way to get there without opening Terminal is to open Finder or click on your desktop, click Go in the menu bar, then hold down the OPTION/ALT key.  You should see Library appear in the menu as long as your holding that key and clicking the menu item will bring it up in Finder.
    2. Use Command+Shift+G from the Mac desktop (or Finder>Go>Go to Folder) and type in ~/Library to temporarily access the Library directory. When you have finished manipulating the relevant parts of it, close this window and the folder will no longer be visible.
    3. To make the Library folder visible permanently (like in OS 10.6 and earlier), open the Terminal application and use the following command: chflags nohidden ~/Library/
    What do you have to do when you've revealed the folder?
    The basic idea is that if Audition opens, and it doesn't find a particular file in the preferences folder, it recreates it. So, you can either delete all the files in it (the same as Shift+open), or you can be more selective. Primarily there are three .xml files that you are interested in, and if you are only having a problem with one of them, then that's the only one you need to delete.
    Application Settings - deleting this will restore most of the settings in the program itself back to defaults
    Effect Presets - deleting this will restore default settings, but if you have made any of your own presets, you will lose these too.
    Favorites - the same as Effect Presets, only for the Favorites list.
    There is also an .xml file for Machine-specific settings, but this only affects your sound device, and generally would be rewritten anyway if anything changed, so generally doesn't need to be touched. Mainly it's the three I mention above that are the ones you will be interested in.
    * A note from Durin about the Mac preferences files:
    "The directory path, ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Audition/5.0/ is where we store all the preferences, presets, workspaces, log files, etc.  Anything and everything a user may need access to.  The .plist file is more of an application/OS level preferences - similar to an ini or registry entry in that it's less user-facing and more preferences for how the application works with the OS.  In Audition's case, this stores information such as the last directory accessed, File Open/Save dialog dimensions, and other mysterious prefs that are just random GUIDs that Audition and OS X understand.
    In either case, if the directory or .plist is missing, it will be rebuilt on launch to the first-launch defaults."

    The success of setting the correct cassette will depend on the applications you use. If the apps are set to use any cassette, rather than call a particular cassette, then making cassette 2 the default will succeed. But if the app calls cassette 1, then no amount of driver default settings will help. So in this case, you will have more success if you create another preset for printing to cassette 2, then you can ensure you select this preset when you want to print on plain paper. And of course you can select the envelope preset when you want to do this.
    If you do want to look at modifying the printer defaults, this can be done via the CUPS web page.
    To access CUPS, open Safari and type
    http://127.0.0.1:631/printers
    This will open the CUPS Printer administration page and will show all the printers currently configured on the Mac. For the printer that you wish to change the defaults for, click its name in the Queue Name column.
    Clicking the printer name will open the printer administration page for that printer. Here you need to click on the Administration drop menu and then select Set Default Options.
    This will show a new page with four menu headings (links); Options Installed, General, Banners and Policies. Select General. Scroll down the list until you find an entry like "Paper Source" or something similar that shows the cassettes and select Cassette 2.
    With the option selected you then need to scroll down the list to the bottom of the page where you will see the ‘Set Default Options’ button. Click this button and you will then be presented with an authentication window. Enter the account name and password that has been set as the admin for this Mac. And then press the Log In button. You will then see another page stating that the information change is completed.
    Now you can open an application and select to print and then check the appropriate paper source menu to see if cassette 2 is the default.

  • Problem saving Default settings - Need Help

    Hello. New user to this forum.
    I am running BB Desktop Software V. 7.1.0.41 (Bundle 42) on a Windows 7 64 bit "Ultimate" platform. I'm using a "domain" account (from Active Directory) and it has "Enterprise Administrator" rights.
    When I start BB Desktop, I click on "Tools--> Desktop Options," and then I click the "Change" button to change the "Deffault File location" for saving backup files (it defaults to "MY Documents\BlackBerry\Backup"). I change it, save it, and it changes to the new directory location I specify.  I then do my backup and sync operation, and exit the program.
    However, when I restart the program for the next backup and  sync, I find the the location has returned to the default location ("My Documents\BlackBerry\Backup") and not what I changed it to the previous session.  I change it again, and it stays changed but only for the duration of that session, If I exit the program and return to it, it goes back to the default setting...
    Is this the normal behvaior of the program? Are we not allowed to change the default backup location permanently? Or is something else stopping it from changing permanently? Perhaps a Local or domain policy setting (I dion't know if Blackberry Desktop Software is affected by these settings)...
    Any help greately appreciated. It's just a pain to have to change the location every time I enter the program.
    Thanks very much.

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    Hi All, this is my first post and question.
    I have LR3 running on 2 PC's. I wanted to change a couple of the default settings. On one of the PC's, I made a couple of changes and saved them using, Develop-Set Default Settings. When I restarted LR3, these changes were saved and being used. On the other PC, I did the exact same thing and when I restarted LR3, the changes had not been saved. Any idea why this may have happened?
    Is it possible that you are using a different body with your other PC.  The Develop presets are camera dependant. That's the only thing that I can think of.
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    Also, I am wondering about watermarks used in LR3. On one of my PC's there is a watermarks called, A Charming Font. On the other PC, in LR3, that is not am option. I really like this watermark. Can I somehow add it to the one that does not have it?
    I believe that you should find the watermark somewhere within the "Application Support (may be called something else on a PC)" folder for Lightroom. Im not sure where that would be on a PC though. Try searching on your OS (ctrl+F) for "A Charming Font."
