Disabling "Select all" functionality in IWDTable

Hi Experts,
I have a UI element IWDTable at design time. On the UI there is a arrow to allow the user to
"Select all" and "Deselect all" rows.
With the new UI guidelines it should not be visible.
Is there any designtime property to disable it ?

Hi,
You have not mentioned about the UI element. Well if the arrow is a button then it must be having visible property. Set it to None.
Or right click on the arrow in layout tab select properties, go to visible property of the UI and make it as None.

Disable find all function

I had an instructor of a class come up to me with an issue with his students(they found a easy way to cheat). Students should have the ability to search within a document for their answer, however with as many PDFs we have, they need to know which document to search for the right answer. Now they are just using ctrl+shift+F and searching every document, also getting wildly crazy answers from the wrong PDF. Is there a way to disable to find all function while still keeping the find function for each individual document?

Ah, the military, that explains it...
What you can do is convert the pages to image files, then create new PDFs from those image files and not run Text Recognition on them.
The Find function will be useless on these new files.

Workaround to No "Select All" Functionality in iPod/iPhone Mail App?

Has anyone come up with a workaround to the lack of a "select all" option in the iPod/iPhone Mail app? Right now, if you are presented with a long list of unread messages, your options are to either read each and every one of them individually, or delete them individually. I was wondering if anyone had come up with either a workaround, or solution provider, in this area. Yes, I have submitted the suggestion to Apple to include this functionality in the future. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I posted the suggestion enhancement to Apple via the "Submit Feedback" option this evening, I wouldn't hold my breath but with no apps or workarounds out there, it's really up to Apple to step up and provide this basic albeit necessary functionality. I really can't be the ONLY Mail user that goes through manually deleting a slew of emails messages every other day, it's ridiculous!

BUG: Disabling 'Select All | Select None' for af:tableSelectMany

I have a simple af:table that incorporates an af:tableSelectMany. Within the af:tableSelectMany I have the disabled property bound to my view's backing bean like this disabled="#{myBackingBean.selectManyDisabled}". The backing bean then returns true or false based on whether the user should be able to change the selection in the table.
When the disabled property is set to true, the table's "select" column is displayed appropriately. The checkboxes are grayed out and the user cannot change their state by clicking on them. However, the Select All and Select None links are still shown at the top of the table and still are active. Clicking one of these links changes the selection state for this items in the table. Shouldn't these links be disabled too? Has anyone else found a reasonable solution to this bug?

Unfortunately that does not fit my usecase.
The Select column always needs to be shown because the selection state of an entry in the table represents that entry's inclusion or exclusion within a higher level object. It is important to show the user this information. There are just some cases when we do not want to allow the user to change this information. (Specifically when showing historical data).
I did consider not rendering the af:tableSelectMany as shown in that sample, but then I would have to build my own "Select" column that would be rendered whenerever the af:tableSelectMany was not rendered. In my own column I would have to place disabled check boxes to mimic the display.
At this point I have developed a work-around solution. In the af:table that contains this af:tableSelectMany component I have the selectionState property bound to my backing bean as well as having the selectionListener bound. When I receive the SelectionEvent notification, I rebuild the selectionState RowKeySet to remove any effect of the Select All or Select None. The result is that the check boxes simply "blink" but always remain as they should be. It's a hack, but it works.
It would be much better if the Select All and Select None links were not displayed or were disabled. I really feel this is a bug since disabling the af:tableSelectMany does properly draw the checkboxes in a disabled state. They just forgot to deal with the two links.

Yes, which takes seconds. Or after reading a message you want to delete, delete it then with a delete selection - trash can icon at the bottom of the message.
With a significant number of habitual whiners here, I can see the number increase if Apple includes a select and delete all option for any other mailbox except for an account's Trash mailbox that is available now which some would inevitably do unintentionally by accident and then complain - how could Apple do this - I lost all my Inbox messages that I didn't want deleted.

Closes applications when you use the select all function in the Hebrew language, ios version 7.0.3

Hi I upgraded to Ios version 7.0.3, I use the Hebrew language.
I have a problem when I select all the Hebrew alphabet, no matter where (it's sms, email, Internet, all applications on the device, and the device itself, search, contacts, calendar).
The device closes the application, and then I open the application and has no caption or a site that was supposed to be before closing as if I started now.
The problem occurs even when I write in the search for the problem device does re-lighting the device as if you just turned on the device (no open applications for example).
It only happens in Hebrew only, if there are English and Hebrew together this glitch does not appear.
I tried other languages English Chinese Russian Indian, they respond well to highlight the text individually without the Hebrew language.
It happened in the previous version 7.0.0.
In older versions it never happened and working already more than a year.
This problem also appears in iPhone 4 and iPad 2 on the same Apple id I have iPhone and same version id of the fault doesn't exist and thought at first it was a sugary but all applications are deleted almost everything and the problem still exists.

Dynamic text select all function

I want to make a dynamic text box that when i click on it to
focus it, it will select all the contents of the text box rather
than having the user click and drag to select the contents. Is

'select all' in pages 'shapes' does not work

When drawing 2-D floor plans using Pages / Shapes......the 'Select All' function does not work !

Is your document based on a Page Layout Template?
In Pages, a floor plan is more suited to a Page Layout document (which mimics a drawing app) rather than a Word Processing document.
Here is a document that I created with Template Chooser > Page Layout > Blank.
I added some Shapes and Text Boxes.
'Select All' (command a) selected everything:

How can I select all stamps in a PDF file without having to click on each individual one?

I use the stamps and text box feature to mark up engineering drawings in abobe acrobat 10. Sometimes revisions come for already worked on drawings so I need to transfer my work over. Usually I just hold control and click each stamp and text box then hit CTRL+C to copy all of them. However, sometimes there are 200+ stamps on a single PDF and clicking each and every one without letting go of CTRL is a lot harder than it sounds.
Any ideas on how to do a "select all" function? (the actual select all doesn't work in this case, it looks for words.)

Stamps are basically comments. As such, they appear in the Comments List,
where you can easily select them by clicking inside the list and then
pressing Ctrl+A.

I added an email account to my iPad and it is now in the process of downloading 3,500 old messages that were on the server 50 at a time and I have to go through and select each one with the edit option to delete them in batches.

How to "select all" trimming photo length in iMovie

I'm creating a motion capture animation with legos and the default duration for the photo clip is 4.0 seconds. I need to trim them ALL to .5 seconds to achieve the animation I'm looking for but can only see how to do them individually. Is there a "select all" function in iMovie 10.0.1? Previous versions had it but I can't find it now.

It sounds like you would like to highlight all of the images you’ve added to your project and edit the clip length on all of them at once. I found this information in the iMovie Help resource found here:

To select all photos: Choose Edit > Select in Movie > Photos.
Then you can adjust the duration of the selected clips all at once:
Select the title, click the Clip Information button in the adjustments bar, and type a duration in the Duration field.

Selecting all rows currently visible in the table

Hi ,
we need to add the "Select all" functionality for the a table used in one of the screens. The examples I have found for this would select all the elements of the node bound to the table. However, we need to select only those elements which are presently visible on the screen, which would change if the user presses the previous or next button.
Please guide me on how it can be possibly done .

Create visRow context attribute of type int. Bind this to firstVisibleRow property of table.
Check visibleRowCount value (default is 5)
//for loop on the table node
for(int i=visRow ;i<(visRow + visibleRowCount value );i++)

How do you select everything on all pages? "Select All" does only a single page.

I can't seem to figure out how to select everything on all 20 pages of my document at one time. The "Select All" function only selects everything on a single page. (which is hardly "all")
I am making a PDF and creating my text to shapes/outlines. Do I seriously have to "select all" and "convert text" 20 times, once on each of my 20 pages? Its taking forever. Help me streamline, please.

For whatever reason, there have been several posts about converting text to outlines. It really needs to be emphasized that converting text to outline is extremely poor workflow and should be avoided at all cost. If the sole reason for converting to outlines are font issues, you need to learn how to make PDFs correctly. And if it's a printer request, you should (if possible) solicit quotes elsewhere. Wasn't there a poster a few weeks back who neglected to save a copy of his file before coverting text to outlines? Just for that reason alone you should never outline text. Guarantee that day will come when you forget to dupe the ID file so you can edit again at a later time. I would package a job and send the printer the ID file along with fonts and images before I sent them PDF with fonts converted to outlines. And I haven't done either of the two in years.
