Disabling the 10 second time out
Hello there,
I use Ichat often and have had it time out several times when there was no video but audio was present (speaker left the camera view) this is typical and I would like to be able to disable it.
any help is appreciated.

Hi,
I can tell you how iChat gets to Peer-to-Peer Video or Audio Only chat and that may help. AT the end of the day it is a data stream of Video and Audio Data.
Process.
One Buddy sends the Invite to another Buddy and Pop up saying there is an invite appears on the second Buddy's screen. I tend to refer to this as the Visible Invite.
This Visible invite happens on port 5678 using the UDP Protocol (essentially that is just another Internet Protocol like HTML for Web Pages or SMTP for Outgoing mail).
At this point iChat also contacts a server set up by Apple to Help Negotiate the connection with the Buddy.
This Server is called SNATMAP.mac.com and is an SIP server.
SIP = Session Initiation Protocol
This server acts like an old fashioned Telephone Operator at both ends of the connection.
Once that link is made an SIP Invite is sent as well.
It goes from Buddy One to SNATMAP then internally to SNATMAP which then contacts the Buddy (2) and the Buddy's end send a response.
This is on Port 16402 as first choice (in iChat 4 and 5) using the UDP Protocol.
This process continues passing bits back and forth. Like a telephone call but text Based it sends "Trying" then "Ringing" and finally "ACK" (You can sometimes see this in failed Connection Logs).
(Much the same as you would phone he operator and ask them to Connect you, then that Operator contacts one near your Buddy who then ask the Buddy is they will accept)
Then there is further negotiation on what sort of Connection is going to be involved.
(The logs will note a CSeq (Call sequence) change from INVITE to MESSAGE)
AT this point Buddy One's iChat sends a PING to Buddy two's iChat.
This is again on port 16042
This is direct and the return is direct.
This is confirm where the Visible Invite Went to is the same place that is returning the SIP data.
The SNATMAP Server is at the same time confirming with both ends which ports are about to be used for the Video Chat or Audio only chat.
Mac to Mac the first choice is still port 16402 (To PC using AIM the ports can be different but SNAPMAP sorts this).
Following this the SNAPMAP server drops out and the two Buddies are Peer-to-Peer.
If I was trying to place where it in security terms with other Internet Activities I would say it on par with dealing with a Web Browser logging into a Secure site like a Bank, PayPal or the Discussions Login page and similar.
Probably more secure than you email is (Data is not lying about on some server waiting for you to collect it).
Probably more secure than a regular phone call.
If both Buddies have MobileMe accounts and are on Macs then iChat to iChat Chats of any sort can be Encrypted.
Unlike a Chatroom a Buddy cannot join it by knowing that the Chat is taking place (Although the Buddy List does indicate they are busy)

I have a June 2008-bought 6 gen 80 Gb iPod classic and, knock on wood, it's the first one I've had that didn't die on me within a year. However, I am experiencing an annoying problem with it. This happened for the second time: iTunes freezes at the point I'm adding songs to the iPod and the moment it unfreezes, there's nothing on my iPod and I have to start over. Does anyone have an idea what is wrong and how should I prevent this, as it's obviously annoying?So, I did all that and started filling the iPod. At some point when it was 1/4 full, iTunes froze and started "verifying" it. I plugged it out, but too late, it said there was no music on it.
However, when I plug it in, it shows that the amount of space I used is actually taken...but not by music. This is getting odd.
Is the problem any clearer now? -
help every time i try to connect to firefox a message says the connection is untrusted, when i click get me out of here it goes to another firefox page and the it opens ok firefox opens as http first and then the second time it opens as https
hello adzuki45, you already appear to run the latest version of firefox, so this shouldn't be a cause for concern, maybe your desktop shortcut is just misnamed).

This is the second time I cannot send my mail out
I have yahoo mail but use the apple mail at the bottom of my scress. This is the second time this week that it tells me cannot send mail outgoing

It sounds like you are unable to send email from your Mail account and you have already used the Connection Doctor to help troubleshoot. Based on that, I would next remove the email account:
Open Mail (click it on the Dock or open it from the Applications folder).
From the Mail menu, choose Preferences..., or press Command-, (the Command and comma keys).
Click the "Accounts" icon.
Select the account you wish to remove.
Click the "-" (minus) icon. You will be alerted that "The account's setup information, mailboxes, messages, notes, and to do's will be deleted permanently from your computer."
If you are sure you want to remove the account and email messages from your computer, click "Remove" to complete this process.

Then restart your computer, and re add the account and test the issue again.
Open Mail (click it on the Dock or open it from the Applications folder).
If the "Welcome to Mail" assistant does not appear, choose Add Account from the File menu.

2009 MBP can't see internal hard drive - for the second time!
Well, my 2009 13" MBP is at Applecare for the second time because it cannot recognize _any_ internal hard drive.
The first repair came at 9 months (purchased new), now 16 months later I have the same issue.
Swap in a known good drive, it can't see it, boot from DVD, and run Disk Utility, it can't see it either (optical drive shows up fine)
My first repair only said they replaced the original hard drive, has anyone else had the issue of losing access to your internal hard drive?
Ugh, I will be out of the 3 year Applecare next summer, and don't want to get stuck with another iBook G3, if you know what I mean.

I have the same issue, I have a Vodafone branded Huawei HG556a with an external drive connected. I have found that it isn't possible to connect via Finder and that SMB doesn't work either. The only way I could connect to it was via FTP using Cyberduck (or Filezilla), but no use as I can't add my media files from the drive to iTunes, so unfortunately disappointing. I'm still looking, but here's the document I was referred too from another forum.

Although not an answer to your question, hopefully this will give you an idea why you are getting the password and username errors when you know they are correct. In the end when I entered the FTP details into Cyberduck I was able to connect.
I know this doesn't help solve the problem (as I'm still looking too), but at leas you know why (ish).

Error 1172, an error running a VI in the second time call of the DLL
Hello All,
I am a beginner in labVIEW.
I have to write a test program in labVIEW which uses a DLL created by other programmer.
I called the DLL from my labVIEW to control DIOs, a serial port, communicate with a slave device, perfrom a flashing task.
While testing the program, I found that the program is OK if I use it just once, however, if I want to run it coninuously using a Do-While Loop, it failed with
Error 1172.
As far as I could understand, it seems that the DLL creates a log file in C:\ while it was called for the first time, and the process does not stop taking control of this log file even after the DLL is closed.
Then when the DLL is called for the second time, it looks for the same log file to write new info but as it was taken control by the previous process, there comes an error.
Please find the attached files.
Hope there would be somebody who is able to help me to point out my mistakes in my vi or suggest me a solution for it.

I have a new Ipad air. I have synced it to my PC before. This time I get an error message saying iTunes could not connect to the iPad because the device time out - what do I do?
Quit iTunes, restart your computer, reset the iPad and try again.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

C++ Call to DLL made in LabVIEW Fails the second time it is called
I have an application where a C++ executive calls a LabVIEW DLL (a LabVIEW application built into a DLL).
The executive calls and operates the DLL fine the first time (NT, the applications task manager shows LabVIEW runtime runs, then stops when the DLL is done. However, when the executive calls the DLL a second time, it hangs, and the runtime engine never shows up in the applications task manager as running.
However, this only occurs when something like IMAQ, DAQ, or another custom DLL call is occurring. We tried it with a simple DLL that only uses a call to the sound VIs, and it seems to run fine, although as the program called is very short, and the task manager slow, we never see the runtime engin
e in the task manager. We are going to put a popup dialog in to ensure that the DLL is being called reliably, but we believe it is.
We are unable to answer why when we call something that uses IMAQ, that the DLL doesn't run right the second time. We are unsure of the reasons, but believe it to be related to thread creation and destruction in the executive.
If anyone out there has any insight into this, we would be happy to see it.
We will be putting in a formal request for support from NI, but wanted to poll the audience as well, as we know from first hand experience that LabVIEW users often times have more experience with this sort of thing than developers.

team. So anything I know about, NI knows about. The info I was
describing about the DLL execution system is not well documented since
we were hoping that it would work we
ll with the way Windows Apps are
typically written. I suspect that we will need to write a Tech Note

and it is subject to change as we learn how people are expecting to
use it.
Anyway, my post was to explain why your use of it didn't work.
In general, we believe that LV DLLs are thread savvy, reentrant
VIs can be called from multiple threads simultaneously, execution can
continue in the background after the DLL call has returned, and the UI
is live provided the calling app processes messages in that thread.

Keyboard not resigning the second time i pop a view controller
i am developing an app that involves 2 tableViewcontroller. when a cell is selected in a tableViewController the detail table view is shown. the detail table view has a cell with a textfield in it.The value entered in the textfield is send to a webservice and the response is alerted using alertView. When the ok button is pressed in the alert view the viewcontroller is poped from navigationcontroller. the keyboard is hidden using the code

this is working fine the first time i push the viewcontroller and pop it. The keyboard is hiding. but the second time i push the same view controller and then pop the viewcontroller the keyboard is not hiding... can anyone tell me where i have went wrong..?I checked the code, we do not have any other manipulation on the view object, the only thing different in our case that I can think of is that this code is being called the 1st time from one page in the afterPhase method of a class that implements PagePhaseListener (on page load). I'm passing the page name to the View Object, and this invokation executes okay an returns the matching one record.
Then I navigate to another page (again in its page definition, its controller is using the same pagePhaseListener class), so when the code is executed the next time, I'm passing the new page name, but this invokation does not return any data, even though I'm sure the SQL and the page name parameter does return 1 row in SQLPlus.
Any thing special with executing the view object parameter binding when I navigate out and back to the page?

For the second time in two weeks, my Iphone 4s has lost all my contact names. The phone numbers still remain without any of the names, What is causing this to happen?
1. I assume that that suggests that it is not normal for a browser window to respond with minimisation? It is just weird when a window just disappears, no reason given (and since there is no obvious loss of internet it can take you by chance)

4. It has calmed down but there is absolutely no rhyme or reason to it. Forgot to mention that I had my first ever crash of Final Cut Pro since I have been using it nearly daily for four years. I even had Chrome crash on me in mid-upload (drat, drat, drat!). I don't click or plough on- I stop, think and consider. Hence me posting. Mavericks is just not as "smooth" as Snow Leopard to me.

Tell me about it! It is impossible, I came here to answer via the link in the emailed notification, was already signed out and signed in and was returned to the front page. Had to go back to my Mail, click the link again and this time, luckily, I was signed in. In other words- the session is impossibly short and signing in doesn't return you to the browser window you were but rather returns you to the front. Meh. -
I drooped my iPhone 4 in the toilet for the second time.
I really need some help, I dropped my iPhone 4 in the toilet for the second time. It isn't turning on and last time I put it in rice and it worked in a couple of days, but apparently rice only works once. I got my iPhone 4 last June so I've nearly had it for over a year. It was originally black and i got it changed to a white one. Does it still have warranty? What do I do? How much will it cost to get it fixed/get a new one? I don't have that much money cause I'm only 16. Some one help!!
Your warranty will not cover this because it is the result of user negligence. The warranty does not cover user negligence. What you can do is take it to your local Apple Store and do an out-of-warranty replacement:
