Disappearance of Event

Hi,
I have a Table with 5 static columns and a few dynamic columns lets say A, B and C. When a user clicks a particular row of the table and clicks a button, I want to show a dialog box, the following values as a radiobutton group:
(RB1) A
(RB2) B
(RB3) C
In order to do this, I created an event in Component Controller ButtonSelectedEvent, a method fireButtonSelectedEvent and event handler in dialog box handleButtonSelectedEvent. When the button is clicked, the action method fired is onActionButton.
I want to pass multiple values from method onActionButton to handleButtonSelectedEvent; therefore, I used ArrayList as a parameter for the event ButtonSelectedEvent, method fireButtonSelectedEvent and event method handleButtonSelectedEvent. However, the method fireButtonSelectedEvent is not visible in the method onActionButton. If I make the parameter as string(or for that matter any simple dictionary type), I am able to see the fireButtonSelectedEvent in the method OnActionButton.
When I say, I am able to see, this is what I mean..
wdContext.wdGetMyCompController.fireButtonSelectedEvent();
does not give an error as the method is visible.
I am on WAS 6.40 SP12.
Any light on this , is highly appreciated.

Let me put my understanding first...
1) You have a button with action name onActionButton.
Inside the button action u r giving ur confirmation dialog.
2) For this confirmation dialog u r having an event handler by name handleButtonSelectedEvent.
why do u want to have ur eventhandler in the controller instead in view?
Now u want to pass the parameters to this event. If the eventhandler is in the same view then it is possible to send set of parameters in an array or a bean, provided declare ur array or bean inside ur global declaration area.

Set the values to the array or bean inside the button action itself.
I think u cannot pass the parameters directly to the event handler.If u pass also u get null values.
Try giving globally and then check if it works.

Disappearing (future) events, late alarms, can't edit or delete events.... what's up?

This is a re-write of my badly composed post from earlier today....
My desktop iCal app is exhibiting very odd behavior lately. Newly scheduled (future) events disappear when I quit/open the app. Alarms are late by random amounts of time 1.3 hours, 2.4 hours and not because of time zone settings - I don't use the snooze option. Also, certain events won't delete - I highlight the event, press the delete key and respond to the dialogue box but the event remains on the calendar.
I'm losing appointments and spending excess time managing my schedule - it's obviously pretty frustrating.
FYI - I do not Sync to iCloud nor do I Sync to Mobile Me. I do, however, sync with my iPhone 5.

My keywords and compound clips have disappeared from Event

Hi.
After a few weeks of working off of a portable hard drive, recently I hooked my laptop back up to my large external drive, where most of my video resides, and found that all my keywords and compound clips have disappeared from their Event. (I have only one event on that drive.)
This is DISTRESSING. I had originally imported a huge amount of clips into FCP X and spent days entering keywords. I also took a lot of time importing sequences from FCP 7 into FCP X as compound clips. These were important building blocks. Now they are all gone.
Looking on the web I've only found one instance of anyone saying this had happened to them, and it was because he had tried to duplicate his currentevent file in the file. I did no such thing. Really I have no idea what I could have done differently to make this happen. All I did was not use my primary hard drive for a few weeks.
Is there ANY way to retrieve all those keywords and compound clips? This is a NASTY surprise, a real blow. I walked around all night feeling depressed at all the lost work.
The other guy who had this problem said that he then used FCP 7 for a day -- and when he reopened FCP X all his keywords and clips had returned. He didn't know why. I tried leaving FCP 7 open all day today in case that would help, but there's no change this evening. Still all gone.
I then tried moving the currentevent file onto my desktop with a slightly changed name (--currentevent), renaming the file in the "backup" folder as currentevent, and opening with that. No better.

Go into the iCloud settings and make sure the calendar sync is on

Disappearing Calendars & Events

My issue: when opening iCal there's about 20 seconds where my calendars and events will display in the window, albeit with the wrong colors. Then they vanish. The calendars, the events... everything. The problem seems to involve syncing with MobileMe, but I can't figure out what's going on.
I've tried trashing files and using Reset Sync Data in System Preferences, namely:
~/Library/Application Support/iCal
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist
This worked the last time I had this issue, and works as far as getting my calendars and events back into iCal but as soon as I sync the problem returns.
Next I tried opening iSync and using Reset Sync History. No dice.
Then I tried replacing the database. I made a backup of my iCal calanders after restoring them via the method described above and trashed these files:
~/Library/Application Support/Sync Services
~/Library/Application Support/SyncLocalCopy
I restarted but nothing changed.
I'm totally baffled. Any help here would me much appreciated. Thanks!
P.S. I'm using iCal 2.0.5

I had the same problem after syncing with MobileMe, only my calendars disappeared after aprox. 3 secs. The problem stayed even though I completely turned off every connection with MM I could find.
I´t seems to be fixed for me (so far) by deleting the file "User/..../Library/Application Support/Sync Services/Local/data.syncdb" (not the entire folder).
What this does to MobileMe sync or information there, I don´t know, and judged by all the issues people seems to be having with iCal and MM I don´t intend to find out either. I´ll wait and hope for an update. Maybe MM works better with OsX 10.5 ?

Disappeared photos&event

Help! This evening I was trying to reorganize my iPhoto's library (I have 16'000 photos on it) and at some point the app is closed unexpectedly, and when I have reopening it the most of my event are disappear! But there is still written that I have 16'000 pics, but where their?! I have already try to open iPhoto pressing the "alt" button by the finder, nothing change! My photos aren't there I'm desperate helpppppppppp!

Try the iPhoto Library First Aid tools:
To rebuild the iPhoto library with the First Aid tools:
Make a backup copy of the iPhoto Library.
Try to launch into the First Aid Tools by holding down the key combination option-command ⌥⌘ and clicking the iPhoto icon to launch iPhoto.
Keep the two buttons firmly held down, until you are seeing the First Aid panel.
Then select "Rebuild database".
Do you have books or Calendars in the library, that you need to save?

Save as previous version causes events to disappear in event structure

I am using 2009 and I am trying to save a VI as previous version...saved it in 8.6, 8.5,8.2 and 8.0.
I mass compiled the Main VI in 8.6 and tried to open it. I get about 30 errors one for each event case and the event structure has no events added.
"Event Data Node:Contains unwired or bad terminal"
I am attaching a zip file containing my 8.6 source code which I down converted from LabVIEW 2009. I am trying to open it in 8.6
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Hey Brian,
This was reported to R&D (# 194525) for further investigation. A possible workaround for this issue is to save the VI to LabVIEW 8.6 and then save it to the various versions you wish to save the VI to. Also, another workaround is to manually re-enter the event specifiers to your cases.
When I saved the VI from LabVIEW 2009 to 8.2, the only thing that seemed to be out of place was the event specifiers. You can re-configure these by right-clicking on the event structure and selecting "Edit Events Handled by This Case...". Also, when I first saved the VI to LabVIEW 8.6 and then to LabVIEW 8.2, everything seemed to be in order.

Flagged photos disappear from events

It seems sometimes when I flag photos within an event and post those flagged photos to facebook, via iphoto, the flagged photos *sometimes* get removed from the event and posted under "flagged photos" folder. Upon trying to copy them back into the event, I have no luck. Must I create an album of the event first, and copy from flagged to that? If this is the case, this is going to be VERY annoying. I had been wondering why I couldn't find the "good" pictures in some of my events, wondering where they all went. Having to make albums of all events is going to be time consuming.

The same just happened to me. This is how I solved it:
1. I went to the "Flagged" list to the left.
2. I selected the pictures that were not showing up in the original event.
3. Events --> Create event
4. Accept.
It created a new event with the flagged photos that were not showing up, and it placed the new event next to the original event with a name based on the date.
5. Dragged the whole "new" event to the original event.
Now it's back to normal... I hope it works...

Clips disappear from Events when moving external drive to my new Laptop

Here is a weird one: I have a large external drive (software RAID) that I have all my footage on, and I am using iMovie to organize it; using a 2006 iMac 24" running Leopard 10.5.7, iMovie '09 8.0.3 (802) (the latest) - all is going reasonably well, although its getting a little slow.
But, when I move this drive onto my new Mid '09 Macbook Pro, also running 10.5.7, iMovie 8.0.3, the recently re-arranged events show up with no clips in them. Other events, that have not been recently changed, show up okay. Projects seem unaffected.
Then, if I take the drive back to the iMac, it's all normal again. Sometimes iMovie won't start at all on the MacBook.

Yes-that was a standard statement in all imovie users. However, in the latest version of imovie there isn't full vs large. There is original vs large. You should check you imovie updates.
I don't know if thats the culprit or not, the iMac does not have that warning. Does anyone else have a MacBook Pro with that warning?

Final cut x 10.0.5 media files just disappeared from event

All of sudden I have the missing file red exclamation on 4 movie files in one of my events, i have done the relink search, the files are not even in the original media folder anymore, just vanished into thin air. Any ideas?? I checked trash and nothing there, searched for the files on the desktop, nothing. Just vanished!! These were important clips! Please help!

Thanks Andy, I did not have that checked off. I fortunately still had the files on the memory card and re-imported those files. However if I didn't have that I would be in dire straits. I literally checked every folder on my computer for these 4 missing files. They dissappeared from original media folder in the event. Into thin air, very scary since all these clips in particular were the most important. The only thing that i did at that time was import a new stock video file to the event. As i was pulling part of this newly imported stock clip into the timeline it slipped into another event as i was pulling it down. I went to the event it slipped into and pulled it back into the proper event and then 4 files had the red missing file label and then no where to be found. I wish I could follow through with this but it set me back hours on this project. Once I get it done I will try to find out how this occurred to prevent it in the future. Thanks for helping me.

ICal calendars keep disappearing

I maintain identical calendars on both of my computers, keeping them synched via .Mac. Recently all of the calendars disappeared. Events and To Does appeared for the current month, but I was unable to change between months. Soon the whole thing quit working.
I restored one set of calendars from Time Machine and got it working. After adding in the new dates that dropped out in that process, I copied the entire Calendars file (User/Library/Calendars) directly over to the other computer. That worked—for one day. Now all the calendars are missing again from my laptop, and it's right back to where it was.
Also, as part of that process I replaced all the calendar data on .Mac with data from the working calendar, just in case there was contamination from problem stored on .Mac.
What's going on? And is there is a fix?

I recommend that you read:

2. How-To: Truly reset your .Mac sync data
My primary advice is to ensure that you use the backup feature on iCal before you try anything else. If you are using different versions of OS X/iCal the menu commands will be slightly different, but the comfort of having a good backup is "Priceless."

Calendar/All Day Event NOT SHOWING ANYMORE!!

First of all this is the reason why I bought a BB. When I got the phone in Sept all of my All Day Events would pop up first thing in the morning and not go away until I dismissed them. Now, don't know what has happened my all day events do not pop up anymore! This is really really bad. For unorganized people like myself this option was the sole reason why I bought this phone and I need to have this back!
And also, how frustrating is it that they don't have a customer support number where you can talk to an expert to resolve your problem. Thank god I am slightly computer savy.

ICal events reverted, changes lost

Hi,
I use iCal at my place of work to organise staff appointments etc. Today I noticed that events I had added last week had disappeared and events I had altered had reverted to their previous state.
I have used iCal for years and have never had this problem before. It is hugely disruptive to our organisation and though I could go back and make all the necessary alterations I have now lost confidence in it.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so did you find a fix?
The calendar is running on a Mac Mini with the latest version of Snow Leopard.
Unfortunately there is no back up of this machine and so a Time Machine restore is out of the question (bad practice I know but work won't spare the cash to buy us an external hard drive)

Quit iCal.
Open ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist. Look for a line called "delete events". If it exists, set the value to "No" by clicking on it.
If the line does not exist, close the plist file and drag it to the desktop.
After either of the above steps, open iCal and create a test event older than 90 days and see if it keeps it.

All photos lost from Event browser and unable import photos

I did something, perhaps while solving a non-responding problem, which caused all photos to disappear from Event Browser, but not from Timeline. When I try to import photos I get "formatting files for import" but nothing is imported.

Thanks Russ. When I read the answer to a different question, I realized, although the photos were no longer visible in the Event Browser, FCPX saw them as duplicates and wouldn't import. I opened a supplementary Event and was able to import them there.

Lost pictures in recent events of iphoto 08

over the last 3 days i have imported some picture from my canon g7 into iphoto 08. they were there and working fine until today. the pictures just all of the sudden disappeared. the events are still there but when i click on the event, the pictures show themselves for about a second and then disappear. whats in there place are empty place holders. when you click on the place holder, it just shows a large exclamation point.
if, on the left column in iphoto, i click on photos instead of events, the same thing happens. whenever i scroll, the pictures are there, when i stop, they disappear.
i went into finder... opened the package contents of the iphoto library to see if i could find them and they are not there (at least i can't find them).
any help would be great!

Rebuild the library as follows: launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Iphone5 deleted most recurring events in Calendar when changing one event and confirming Save for All Future Events

This has occurred now twice today, requiring me to resync my iphone5 in order to recapture the majority of my Calender events that were in place before this mysterious disappearance took place. When I touched the "Save for All Future Events" button, the process took much longer than usual, with this result. My iCloud account is set only for Backups; nothing on my iphone is set to sync with iCloud. Has anyone else had disappearing Calender Events in the new iphone5 or any ideas what may be causing this to happened - never before occurred on previous iphones.

I had the same problem and thought it was fixed after spending a lot of time last night going through all my appointments on my 9900 and fixing them. Then this morning I did a 1-way sync with my PC and after updating all my categories in Outlook I did a 2-way sync just to have the same thing all over again.
I resolved the problem by replacing DM7 with DM6.1
I just can't see how after 6 months this can happen. It's not like syncing calendar appointments is something only a handful of people do.
