Disco command line import fails with parser error 7

Hi, we have discoverer version 10.1.2.48.18 installed to multiple environments.
Developers have created eex-file and we try to import it to all the test environments, it goes through fine with some but with some it fails with parser error 7 :

Hi,
The most likely cause is that the export file has become corrupted. Are there very big export files?
Another possibility is that Discoverer Administrator has run out of memory while parsing the file.

"INDEXFILE" , this is parameter is specified, index-creation statements for the requested mode are extracted and written to the specified file, rather than used to create indexes in the database. No database objects are imported.
Due to that that Objects are skipping.
The INDEXFILE parameter can be used only with the FULL=y, FROMUSER, TOUSER, or TABLES parameters.
Else you can perform a two step process as stated by Amardeep.

Ice import fails with no error

Hello,
I am trying to import files into a NW04 system using the content exchange import feature.
I choose the correct package and press Upload. After some time (depending on the size of the package), the upload window is displayed again (with no message, neither error nor success message), and the content is not imported in the KM.
The operation completes succesfully on other NW04 systems.
Have any of you experienced such problems?
Do you know in what logs can I watch for ice messages? (no message is logged in the defaultTrace)

Finally I am able to resolve this issue.
Below API is the main cause of the problem, this API throws "***createStorageTaskManagerForPath:withIdentifier failed:" error on first time execution but hangs on second time execution.This issue is only found via command line execution, if unit tests are executed from direct Xcode then no issues:

After commenting above API, everything works fine for me.

Probably your listener or database is down...
If both are running, just stop the installation and reboot the server.
Then again start listener and database and continue SAP installation with "Continue old installation" option..
Also make sure that below environment variables are set properly...

Exchange- IMAP command "APPEND" (to inbox) failed with server error

Not sure, but think I was adding a mailbox to the Exchange Server's inbox, and now I am hammered with repetitive alerts;
"Some actions taken while the account “Exchange” was offline could not be completed online.
Mail has undone actions on some messages so that you can redo the actions while online. Mail has saved other messages in mailbox “INBOX” in “On My Mac” so that you can complete the actions while online.
Additional information: The IMAP command “APPEND” (to INBOX) failed with server error: An unexpected network error occurred.."
Any ideas on how to stop the messages/undo/cancel, or anything to have Mail.App work again?

This can happen anytime you give an IMAP command offline that the server is not able to fulfill once you go back online. Mail's less-than-helpful response is to keep retrying the command, without regard for the feedback from the server. And there's no way for you to revoke the command.
In my case, Mail kept recreating a draft email that I had deleted. I believe it had an attachment that was too large for the server to accept. So Mail kept creating copies of this draft, pushing my account over the usage limit. I closed Mail, accessed my account through a different app, deleted all those copies, and emptied the trash. When I returned to Mail, it went right back into its loop, creating more draft copies until my account was again over the limit.

Sounds like the mail server thinks you are asking to delete the bulk-mail mailbox instead of some/all of the messages within it.
How are you trying to delete your bulk mail messages? That is, what are you doing, step by step, up to the error message.
What you should probably be doing is selecting the bulk mail mailbox, selecting one of more messages inside it, then hitting the "delete" key.

Thanks for your reply. I have finished the VDI 3.0 Install and everything works fine now. For some reason even though the Storage OS was opensolaris 2008.11 but running on a VM it did not like that and once I dedicated a seperate box, then things worked fine. I just redid the install of the VM to try if it goes through and this time it works well. So my setup as of now has everything running on a ASUS MBD whitebox with Open Solaris running as a VM in Virtual Box and acting as a ZFS Storage (Virtualbox is running inside the GA release. However I would like to run everything in one OS which would be the GA. I tried setting up the iSCSI interface in GA and it did not work. Any ideas on how I can make this work on just one platform ?

I am using the OWB Repository Version 10.2.0.4.0 in a AIX server and we face MDL IMPORT FAILS WITH MDL1261
On Oracle Metalink we found the following information. The datatype and background both are set to 113.
Does the suggestion to set the values to 10007 apply in this case?

MDL IMPORT FAILS WITH MDL1261
The upgrade to 11.1.0.7 creates a new property SAP_FTP in the repository. The DATATYPE of this property is incorrectly set to113. The value should be 10007. This wrong datatype causes the NullPointerException because it causes the type not be found when it is expected to be there.
Solution
1. Using SQL*Plus, connect to OWBSYS
2. Check datatype of property SAP_FTP
SQL> select name, datatype from PROPERTYDEFINITION_V where name = 'SAP_FTP';
NAME DATATYPE
SAP_FTP 113
3. Check datatype of property BACKGROUND
SQL> select name, datatype from PROPERTYDEFINITION_V where name = 'BACKGROUND';
NAME DATATYPE
BACKGROUND 10007
The value of DATATYPE for the property SAP_FTP and property BACKGROUND should be the same (10007). If this is not the case, the DATATYPE of property BACKGROUND should be changed.
Proceed to the next step to correct this.
4. Update PROPERTYDEFINITION_V
If the value of DATATYPE is not the same for property SAP_FTP and property BACKGROUND, then correct this as follows:
SQL> update PROPERTYDEFINITION_V
set DATATYPE = (select datatype from PROPERTYDEFINITION_V where name = 'BACKGROUND') where name = 'SAP_FTP';
5. Verify updated correctly
SQL> select name, datatype from PROPERTYDEFINITION_V where name = 'SAP_FTP';

Why I get these error messages while I do full import? Could anyone help me on this issue?

Note:- I have used the same command to import the same export file to a different SID and it went fine but when I try to do import for SID (DEMO), I get the above mentioned errors.

Thanks for the clue
Got it right, when i changed the primary Oracle Home from 10gDS to 9iDB. 10gDS has a lower version of import as compared to 9iDB.

Import fails with unable to extend table CUSTOM.CASA_TRAN_HIST_UPLD by 6999

Hi,
I have taken export backup of table from 9.2.0.4 on AIX & trying to import in 11.1.0.7.0 on AIX
while importing im getting the following error.
ORA-01653: unable to extend table CUSTOM.CASA_TRAN_HIST_UPLD by 699912 in tablespace CUSTOM
As the table size is 37G , total free space in tablespace is 40G,
& no index on the table.
following are sum lines from import file

Hello,
which & how i can set character set for import.About the Character Set, it's a setting at the Database creation. You may check it by using the following query on the Source and Target Databases:
select * from v$nls_parameters; The NLS_CHARACTERSET will give you the Character set of the Database.
It cannot be changed easily. It may imply a Database creation and export/import of data ( see Note *225912.1* ).
Else, when you export (with the Original Export/Import utility) it's recommended to set the NLS_LANG parameter.
The NLS_LANG parameter has 3 components:
- Language
- Territory
- Client Character Set
A wrong setting of the NLS_LANG may lead to conversion. However starting with *9i* most data is exported with the Character Set of the Database regardless the NLS_LANG setting. The following note may give you some details about it:

IMP-00017: following statement failed with ORACLE error 1276

i have exported the full database without rows from live database and tried to import it into training database.
both use ASM file system.i have precreated tablespace in training database.
but im getting the error IMP-00017: following statement failed with ORACLE error 1276.
it tries to create tablesapce and datafile on live ASM location rather than creating it on training database ASM location.
live database asm location is WEBD and training database is at TRAIND.
it tries to import on WEBD RATHER THAN TRAIND and throws the error.
any help is appreciated.i have googled it and cant find anything helpful.
Im bit new to DBA stuff.
is there anyway to import and export data in ASM file system?

When datapump exports the tablespace information, all it knows about is the currently location of your datafiles. Let's take a simple example. Let's say you have tablespace foo with a file called foo.dbf and it lives in a windows directory c: if you are now trying to import that into a linux box, Data Pump does not know that. All it knows is that it needs to create the tablespace data file in c:. If you are changing the locations of the datafiles, you need to use remap_datafile=old_datafile:new_datafile ... in your impdp command. Or, precreate them and use exclude=tablespace. The old_datafile and new_datafile need to be the complete path.

I am trying to exp a table from an oracle 9i db to an oracle 11g db.
exp USERID=user1/pass1@db9i TABLES=test FILE=test.dmp ROWS="y" statistics="none" GRANTS="n" INDEXES="n" TRIGGERS="n" CONSTRAINTS="n"
While trying to import i get an error
*"IMP-00017: following statement failed with ORACLE error 942:*
*"BEGIN SYS.DBMS_REPUTIL.SYNC_UP_REP('CYGENT_ADMIN','AGENT_ROOT_MAP'); END;"*
_when i do_
imp USERID=user2/pass2@db11g TABLES=test FILE=test.dmp FROMUSER=user1 TOUSER=user2 SHOW=Y
the last line i see is

What do i need to do so that the last line (SYNC_UP_REP) is not included in the export dump.
Have tried searching for this but without much luck.
