Discontinuous midi playing problem

Recently I am developing a game on Motorola V980. A sound playing problem has occurred in my working progress. That is when I continuously play two Midis, first one worked fine, but second one was played discontinuously. However, when I played the second MIDI independently, such problem did not occur.
Detail logic of my program were organized like this:
1) Open a binary file and stream it
2) Copy streams into local buffer, such as byte arrays
3) Create Player object for each sound and organize them in an array
4) Invoke Start, Stop, ... methods according to my game logic
5) Finally, a level was completed, stop and destroy Player objects and recycle memory allocated.
I am wondering if it is a bug of sound system of Motorola V980. So I looked for solution in relative Motorola official specifications, media guides and many J2ME developer forums. Unfortunitely nothing I have got. Anyone kindly give me some advices on this issue would be greately appreciated.

    OK, what you should do is download the updates on another machine and burn them to a disc.  Start at this link http://support.apple.com/downloads/#leopard for downloads and find, among other things, the 10.5.8 combo updater that works on PPC machines, plus security, QuickTime and other updates.  Going from 10.5.1 to 10.5.8, there will probably be a bunch of things that you should install.  Being off the internet with the machine, you can't have Software Update sort it out, so something might get missed, unfortunately.
    My suggestion is this: if it looks like you might need a download, get it onto that disc.

    Do you have a 6G Nano?  If so, this is usually a sign that your headphones are not plugged all the way in.  Make sure you cannot see any silver still showing from the headphone's plug.  It may require a little extra force to get the headphones to become fully inserted.  You should hear a sort of clicking noise indicating that they have been fully seated.
    Also check the headphone port from a damage or debris.

  • MIDI Stopping problem in LE 7.01

    Hello,
    I have two LE setups, one on an iMac G5 and one on a PowerMac G5, both using M-Audio 2x2 interfaces. Both systems experience a problem in Logic where the MIDI output ceases after 5-15 minutes of continuous playback. The problem is resolved by stopping playback and then starting again. I don't need to quit or turn off any hardware. Our problem is that we are using these systems for research purposes, and having MIDI cutout on us invalidates a given testing session. We would like to be able to solve this and continue using LE, but are considering switching sequencers unless we can resolve this. Any ideas?

    Are you using MIDI to trigger internal software instruments on your Macs, or external hardware sound generators? Have you tried saving the file as a Standard Midi File in Logic Express, then using something like Quicktime Player to play it with simple internal sounds? You may also have extraneous Midi controller messages that could cause the problem. Open the file in Logic Express, open the Event Editor, and try the various filters to find anything bizarre other than notes in your file.
    Then too, it could just be something about your M-Audio interfaces. I have an old MOTU Timepiece interface and have played continuous looped sequences for hours in Logic Express without problems.

  • Java MIDI Synthesis Problems!

    Hi! I've been searching for a solution to my problem for almost a week now. I'm new to Java so I was hoping someone here could help me out!
    I'm familiar with a few other programming languages and I got all the "Hello World" stuff going, but the MIDI synthesis in Java is stumping me. Maybe it's just my computer that's the problem, but I'm not sure.
    I'm using Eclipse for programming.
    Inside my miditest.java file I have a miditest class with this code in it...

    I've checked my MIDI for availability... and I'm assuming since every other program can run MIDI that my device is working fine.

    You are going to have to tell us exactly what type of installation problems you are having w/Java?  Any error messages?  What do they say?  Where did you download Java from?  Which browser & version are you using?
    I also play games on Pogo, recently updated Java and so far no problems playing their games.  Although I do have different OS'es than you.  I use both SL (MBP) & ML (iMac).
    I did have to repair permissions and restart my computer a few times for the Java to "take" as I had to do several Java installations & one applet installation.

  • MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) problems 10.8.3

    Hi, I have problems wtih a macbook pro 13-inch mid 2010. Before the update of 10.8.3 I already had some problems, sometimes(a fewtimes in a week) the sytem stops and restarts. But after the update the system logs out every 5 minutes whem I play youtube movies.
    Is this a known bug and is it possible to solve this problem?

    Wake for network acces, checked.
    Battery:

    Reduce brightness display with use of battery, checked.
    I just started to backup with Timemachine.
    I will replace the original Ram tomorrow after the TimeMachine backup.
    If it doesn't solve the problem, I wil schedule a Genius Bar appointment.
    I found a topic (article TS4088) Intermittent black screen or loss of video. It looks like the problem I experienced now.

  • Networking MIDI signal problem (For GB3 on Intel iMac)

    I've run in to the problem that m-audio has yet to put out drivers for my USB MIDI keyboard (Radium 61). As a work around I figured that I could set up a network connection from my iBook.
    So I've got the Radium set up on the iBook, tested and working good. Now could someone tell me what's wrong with the rest of the set up?
    On the iBook I've gone to MIDI Network Setup in the Audio MIDI Setup utility. I've made a new Session, enabled it and set the Live Routings top menu pop-down to the MIDI Device I want to send the signal form (in this case, the Radium) so it's set to the option "Radium Port 1". On the iMac I've got it a new Session started, and have connected with the iBook and set the Live routings Bottom pop-down to "Network *local name*" (in this case the local name is radium so it says "Network Radium").
    Now Garageband says it has one midi connection but won't play any virtual instrument. If I check the enable box to turn it off, garageband alerts me that it has no inputs, if I turn it on I says it has one input, so I suspect that the issue is either on the iBook side of things or the connection. The Test MIDI Setup makes to noise on the iMac when it test it, but it works on the iBook end of things. Also the latency meter is showing nothing.
    Anything I need to do different to set it up?

    Just to give a little more info here. the Latancy meter is reading nothing. I figure the problem may be on the iBook side because i've found that checking the Enabled option on the iMac side of the set up makes garageband inform me of a change to either one input device is available or no input device is available.

  • Midi plays back or records in erratic pitch (note) after a few seconds

    It started using Logic 9 about a year plus ago.  I would record  a midi piece and it would play fine for a few measures and the transpose to a different key and play on that thereafter or maybe random for that matter.  The piece would not be recognizable.  I would stop the playback and and restart again and would play fine for a short while and then start playing on a completely different note (pitch?).   Then I updated to Logic X  and the same behavior happens.  It also occurs when I am recording.  For example I am playing a C and all of the sudden it will become a D or G, even though I am pressing the same key.  Running Yosemite  10.10.2 and Logic 10.1.0.   17 inch powerbook  from around 2011, 8MB ram and lots of space.  Persist thru system software updates.
    The problem has persisted thru the updates. 
    It occurs in all my projects.  Sometimes it will occur  soon and sometimes after a while.
    Any thoughts would be welcome.
    Have tried unchecking the pitch boxes in the preference panels.  May be I am missing some.

    The most common causes for such an issue are;
    A pitchbend wheel that is not correctly resetting itself to zero  or moving around 'by itself' resulting in random pitch evens being sent to the Mac...
    Check the Event List for pitchbend events...
    or...
    An iOS device such as the iPad that has been used as a midi controller and the app is still running in the background.... (Quit not close the app and test)
    or
    Some other kind of external controller issue...
    Use a Midi Monitor such as the free Snoize

    to monitor all midi events and see what it's log shows...

  • Basic midi playback problems

    I am playing with the demo for logic express 7 and having a bit of a problem with playing back midi.
    I am inputting from a korg sp 300 through an edirol ua-20 and it records ok but only seems to play back from logic through the korgs speakers. I want to be able to play it back through the main mix to my amp and speakers. audio tracks like vox and guitars are fine.
    It must be pretty simple but i just cant find the answer?

    The midi tracks are only telling the Korg what to play, so you're going to hear the sound from wherever the Korg's sounds come out. If you want to hear the sounds from the speakers, you'll need to route the audio outputs from the Korg to your amp. There may be a way to do that with your interface; otherwise you may need a mixer. That's the old-school midi way (pre software instruments).

  • Audio midi Sync problem

    I was doing a session a couple of days ago and a friend of mine bought in several logic 7 projects. The first project was absolutely fine. However the second project seemed to have major syncing problems.The first thing we noticed was wrong was that the midi click seemed to be speeding up against the drum tacks. When i tried to add a bass track certain parts of the take were significantly behind whist others seemed OK. After about 4 takes i realized it wasn't my playing but some weird delay going on!
    I tend to use a midi click rather than the internal logic one (because it sounds better) but when put them both on together there was some definite flamming going on.
    I thought the mac might be freaking out but when i put the system performance up everything was running fine...
    I'm sure this is an issue with a setting with in logic because the first project ok. I exported the drum tracks into a new project and the problem seemed to resolve its self.
    I tried to ring the old importers of logic but i have now found they have changed free logic support to apple care. Apple want £144 before the can even consider helping! so any help anyone has would be most appreciated..

    Logic, in my opinon is a very good software.. but sometimes . they arent fast as her own plattform developer...

    so i tried some things.. i selected ALL regions.. in the ARRANGEMET Window.. and the TRACKS.. adio, midi... are tight..

    WELL in my case i have 3 .. THREE instruments.. piano , drums and base, but what happens if you have 100 midi trakcs.. and some audio tracks
    you cant hear .. what is wrong . .and what ist right..

  • Audigy 2 ZS Notebook MIDI playback problem

    Hi guys, I have a following problem. I recently obtained PCMCIA SB Audigy 2 ZS Notebook. I'm running it on an older DELL Inspiron 5160, Win XP (latest possible service pack and drivers), P4 3.0GHz, 2 Gigs of RAM (max). Onboard audio SigmaTel is disabled.
    I had no problem installing driver from Creative CD, playback and recording works fine. I can even play midi files in Windows Media Player. I knew I had to install drivers from CD in order to be able to use soundfonts, latest drivers do not support that.
    There is the only problem - when I try to use the software keyboard in the Bank Manager, where I loaded up my sf2 banks, it does not make a sound. For writing midi songs, I used to use old MidiSession program. I can't hear anything there either. Strange thing is, when I play any midi file in the Widows Media Player - at the exact same time, both things mentioned above work, keyboard or MidiSession. I have no idea why that is. I tried to uninstall and reinstall Creative drivers and software, nothing. Since I can't update to a newer driver, I'm at loss here.
    I used to have the same setup on my desktop (except the PCMCIA version) and all worked just fine.
    Does anyone has any idea what could be causing this? Thanks.

    ? A soundfont cannot contain alle drumkits, and it is not nessecary at all. I dont know a soundfont bank wich contains a complete set of drumkits, too. There are only some soundfonts like the crysis soundfont (to big for its "bad" quality) wich have some dummy-drumkits/ entrys or slightly modified sounds for each than usual. If all drumnkits would be stored in high-quality, the soundfont would be huge... Every synth i know uses the standard drumkit, if the chosen one is not existent. This is not optimal, but it will guarantee, that the the MIDI file or Program/ game will work. The KXDrivers wont do this. SO they are not useable for General MIDI. Only for MIDIs and soundfonts fitting together. But thats not the point of General MIDI. CMSS isnt working with these drivers, too. Dolby decoding/ encoding isnt possible with them, either. These drivers are not bad, but if you want a completely working card, KXdrivers are worthless.

  • Tascam US-122 midi interface problem

    Hi,
    A week ago I hooked up a US-122 midi interface to my iMac and it worked perfectly. Tonight for some reason, I'm not getting response from it. The USB green light is on and the iMac is detecting it. When I try to play music using iTunes, the song won't begin if the output is set to the US-122. Soon as I change the audio output setting to "Built-in output" iTunes works fine.
    I've taken out the driver and reinstalled it. Still no luck. It worked fine for a week, don't understand why it just suddenly stopped working.

    I'm agree if most of Apple product is more compatible with those kind of devices
    But as home musician :) I'm not agree if you think that its not compatible with Windows 8.1, I would say its not compatible yet, because most of that device launched before Windows 8.1 release, some of the manufactured will be update their driver
    trough software update or via firmware update (unless that product is discontinue or don't have anymore support)
    Example for your Midi devices which TASCAM US-122 Audio/MIDI interface, even that product already discontinued and Windows 8.1 just launched last year. Most of this midi devices is plug and play, its supposed to be depend software that you are using like
    Cubase, garage band or else
    My suggestion is find the reliable audio software which support to Windows 8.1 first, and do most of audio processing outside the PC using preamp or mixer, and made the input to the PC using single input soundcard (external or internal)
    I've proofed that my Behringer mixer work with both my Windows 8.1 and MacBook via Cube base and garage band. I put all the instrument to mixer and via build in external sound card from Behringer I plug it to my PC, so I Control everything from my mixer
    Unless you want to buy high tech mixer with wireless capability it will be awesome, like presonus or else
    OS is not the limitation, you can install your Windows PC with Mac OS also you can installed your Mac with Windows OS. Update your Windows PC chipset to get the latest USB peripheral and PCI controller device list

  • Keyboard Midi Sounds Problem

    First time here, so hello everybody:
    Keyboard Roand E38, Computer Intel core2duo 20inch, OSX 10.5.2
    Installed Jampck 1.
    If i choose new instrument and click on piano
    everything works fine when i play the E38 keyboard.
    If i choose Organs>Circus organ and i play the Roland E38
    i hear nothing. If i play the Virtual Keyboard from the
    Window>keyboard and play with the mouse, the sounds are there.
    That means midi is not fuctional with some sounds.
    I re installed the jampack, but has no effect.
    Anybody have the same problem?
    And ofcourse, how to solve this problem.

    Just to let you know:
    The problem is solved.
    iLife 08 Garageband is still not working
    but i renamed garageband in the folder Programs to garageband08
    the to a dvd iLife06 and installed Garageband 06 and now all the sounds
    can be played on the keyboard.
    Now i am very happy,

    hi any idea why this is happening? its only just started recently and a message pops up telling me that its happening when playing a project and then... it does... im pretty sure my specs are more than sufficient for what i am doing so am assuming that its a bug in logic. has anyone else ever had similar problems? thanks lolly

    It could be any number of things, I suppose and a more complete description of your setup could help, such as what interface you are using.     I have found that it is still happening. It happens most when I open old Garageband projects in Logic to remix them, and I am guessing that it is because the project settings that the GB defaults to when opening in Logic are incorrect for my setup. I have to go into my Midi settings for the project and check how its setup.
