Dispatcher dies with message dialog queue standstill

Hi All,
SAP WAS 6.20 is installed in win2000 server with oracle 9i as the database.
When trying to start the server with SAP managment console
messeger and dispatcher comes up fine. But within some seconds dispatcher stops.
When trying to restart again messeger starts but dispatcher turns yellow with a message "dialog queue standstill" and stops.
Please see the developer trace below.Need your help to bring the server up.
Thanks and regards,
Niranjan

Hi,
check please your konfiguration files (tnsnames.ora, listener.ora, sqlnet.ora). Entries like service or global names should be  the same in tnsnames.ora and listener.ora files.
In sqlnet.ora you should have the entry<i> SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICE = (TNS).</i> You need it for your sap users (<SID>adm and SAPSERVICE<SID>).
Read please the note: 480266.
Your environment variables should be set correct. Read please the note 556232 for it (WINDOWS)
Read also please the notes 35278, 445038 and 400241.
Best regards
K.Baran

  • Dialog queue Standstill after applying Java Initial configuration

    Hi All,
I am installing NW 7.11 PI and after running Java Initial configuration with j2ee_admin user  the system is not starting anymore.
On SAP MMC I notice the "message server connected ok"  message and java process is starting.
Then it stops and I see message "Dialog queue standstill" and the system stops.
I can start oracle without issues but when I run R3trans -d I get Ora 1017 error.
I checked all notes regarding this error (400241, 1410573, etc) but no luck. I can connect to orace using  sapsr3/<password>/@<SID> without issues.  But on trans.log file I see the message that OPS$ can not connect even if I reset the password to default "sap".
It seems to me that tje problem is related to some issue with the Java instance but am not sure.
Please can any body help me out ?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Joao

    Hi Pranay,
In fact not. The abap instance is also stopped. BTW, it is on Windows 2008 and oracle 11.2.
When I stat the instances on sapmmc, i see on process list the disp+work.exe running, the message server connection ok and it tries to start the AS Java. Then I got that message "Dialog queue standstill"and then it stops.
I can not attach the complete dev_disp and dev_server0 files because they are too long.
See part of the dev_disp  below.
I will send the dev_server0 in another query.
thanks very much for your help.
    Mauricio

  • Disp+work goes yellow with message:  running but dialog queue standstill

I just installed CRM 7.0 on Windows with MaxDB 7.7.04 build 28. After the installation I was able to logon and begin applying support packs. In the middle of doing this, the system hung and I noticed the disp+work went yellow with the message "Running but dialog queue standstill". I shut down the system, rebooted the machine and started up again. The same error is occuring. Here are some log files:

    Hi,
Its better to put log archive in over write mode while installation to avoid these issues.

  • Dispatcher  status: Running but dialog queue info unavailable ... yellow co

    Hi there,
I just upgraded a SAP Kernel from:
    Old Kernel:  disp+work information
    kernel release                640
    kernel make variant           640_REL
    compiled on                   NT 5.2 3790 Service Pack 1 x86 MS VC++ 14.00
    compiled for                  64 BIT
    compilation mode              Non-Unicode
    compile time                  Aug 16 2007 21:11:21
    update level                  0
    patch number                  196
    source id                     0.196
    New Kernel:    disp+work information
    kernel release                640
    kernel make variant           640_REL
    compiled on                   NT 5.2 3790 Service Pack 2 x86 MS VC++ 14.00 for "

    I downloaded the files:
    SAPEXE_347-20001176.SAR
    SAPEXEDB_347-20001172.SAR
And I extracted them and copied all files to  ...usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe\run and to ...usr\sap\SID\SYS
    exe\nuc\NTAMD64
But the Dispatcher has the yellow status with the message: Running but dialog queue info unavailable.
    Any Idea?
    Thanks in advance.
    HanseAtik

    Hi,
I just found out that it works fine now and want to share this with you:
    The solution is:
I downloaded and extracted the file: dw_350-20001176.sar and copied everything to exe\run and ..exe\nuc\NTADM64.
I am happy now and evey thing is green and the business must go on. I hope this will help other too...
    Best regards
    Hanseatik

  • Dispatcher fails to Come up - dies with message - "java/lang/OutOfMemoryErr

**We are running into a strange issue. After a successful migration from SOLARIS to AIX of our XI development environment & running for a month we are facing an error starting the java dispatcher. The dispatcher comes up but dies very soon.
We have a message open with SAP with all the heap and java core files. Want to see if anyone has seen this issue or has a clue why this will be happening, we have bumped up the memory to 11GB on the server level but looks like something was running before this happened and now java is trying to finish that task and keeps on consuming memory. A restart of the server has not helped either.
Is there a way to find out what is the J2ee engine trying to finish up?
The messages in the std_server0.out have the following**
JVMDUMP006I Processing Dump Event "systhrow", detail "java/lang/OutOfMemoryError" - Please Wait.

Thanks, however from the Memory Analyzer link it shows that it doesn't support IBM platform yet.
    What heap dumps are supported?
SAP Memory Analyzer supports HPROF binary heap dumps, a de-facto standard of Sun supported also by other vendors:
Sun, SAP and HP JDK/JVM from version 1.4.2_12 and 5.0_7 and 6.0 upwards
IBM doesn't support HPROF binary heap dumps. Therefore IBM heap dumps can't be analyzed with the SAP Memory Analyzer. We know of no tool to convert an IBM heap dump into an HPROF binary heap dump, but surely such a converter (System Dump/DTFJ API -> HPROF binary heap dump) could be written.
Still this is good to know and thanks for your answers.

  • SAP Netweaver ABAP Trial - Running but Dialog Queue standstill

    Dear all,
since today morning I am having troubles with the SAP Netweaver ABAP Trial version which has run now for over 6 months without any issues. The issues appeared suddenly and I didn't change anything to configuration / network. I am going through the forum now since a couple of hours and I have checked the following. I have read that the most common error is, that the log is full. Anyhow I have checked the log files.
1.) Logfiles: I can't see anything in the log file saying that something is wrong. Please find enclosed the log files DEV_DISP, DEV_W0 and DEV_MS:

2.) So I installed the SAP MaxDB Database Manager in order to check the logs and do an archiving. But here seems to be the issue - I can not see the NSP Database instance (see attached screenshot). But how can this be? The log file say that the db connection is ok?
3.) What is really strange to me is the Syslog in the management console --> see log3.png. Why does it say work process in reconnect status?
Does anybody have an idea how to solve this issue? Help is really appreciated and points will be rewarded.
    Best regards
    Maik

Thank you first of all for your answer.
I tried to do so, but in the MaxDB Database Manager I can add the db instance, but I am not able to connect to it (service is running).

  • Problems with message dialog

    import javax.swing.*;
    JFrame frame = new JFrame();
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(frame, "message');
the only problem is that my message is too long for the dialog box, is there any way I can shrink the size of it, or perhaps stack the lines on top of each other within the same dialog box

the html code did not work, it instead was just shown as part of the string. the program did not seperate it and break the line. any other suggestions???

  • Dialog Queue Info Unavailable

    Hi,
    I have  a system with NW2004s BI 7.0 installation
I upgraded the SAP Kernel from 133 to 146.
After i start SAP in SAP MMC, i see teh message : Dialog Queue info unavailable"  But the server is running on fine
    I have tried the following
    1. Copied the Latest dispatcher (157 patch), R3trans, tp to the kernel but  then the Dispatcher stops
    2. Restarted the machine
Please let me the reason for this problem any other solutions for the same
Edited by: Balaji Rajendran on Jun 16, 2008 9:26 PM

    Hi Balagi,
Please refer the notes 396309 (Dispatcher remains yellow, although the system is running) and you can try by increase the value of rdisp/elem_per_queue=4000.
If above two did not help then you need to apply the latest kernel, please refer to the note 19466 further information.

  • Upgrade Prep CHECKSYSSTATS - "Dialog Queue info unavailable"

During the prep for migration I'm getting an error stating that the system seems to be in an unsound state.
This can be tested for by running sapcontrol as follows:
    sapcontrol -nr 03 -function GetProcessList
    28.04.2015 00:38:10
    GetProcessList
    OK
name, description, dispstatus, textstatus, starttime, elapsedtime, pid
    disp+work, Dispatcher, YELLOW, Running but Dialog Queue info unavailable, 2015 04 27 16:05:38, 8:32:32, 1273
    igswd_mt, IGS Watchdog, GREEN, Running, 2015 04 27 16:05:38, 8:32:32, 1274
I have not seen any system issues, yet the sapcontrol program clearly is having issues.
I have tested this with both the source kernel (721_REL patch 400) and the target kernel from the SUM directory (742 kernel).
    Both give the same error.
(NB I've tried the EXT version on the source level too - 721_REL_EXT)
There is some advise that you can just skip this warning (see 1957443 - Check for system status at upgrade preparation (phase CHECKSYSSTATUS)) - however I would prefer to know what is going on here.
I've also found a note suggesting that this could be something that happens when you remove a Java stack from a system (we just have); however it refers to J2EE status as opposed to Dialog queue info.. 1855360 - *ERROR:* Your system appears to be in an unsound state. Correct the following issues before you continue: ...J2EE status info unavailable
I'd be very keen to see if anyone else has seen similar issues with SUM during an upgrade.

    Additionally all.
Please note I've seen for some people this can be a problem when sapstartsrv isn't up to date with the rest of the kernel (easily possible esp. if you didn't manually kill all SAP processes during kernel updates).
However I did kill these processes and the binaries all look aligned:
    sapcontrol -nr 03 -function GetVersionInfo
    28.04.2015 09:48:31
    GetVersionInfo
    OK

    Hi Paul,
    The user used for the upgrade may not have rights to read DBPROPERTIES. Have you reviewed this forum entry: [Invalid object name DBPROPERTIES|shadow system problem;
Not sure if that helps but thought it might provide a clue.
    Thanks!
