Display a hyperlink within forms 9i

hi,
I want to display the hyperlink on the lefstside of a form using web.show_document.Rightside holds some another frame.But it displays in the whole window.I wnat the link to appear only within the target frame.
please help me.thanks

Madhu,
when creating frames the you can specify percentages of the available width to each of them. This way you can make sure that the Forms size always is kept. You can apply absolute values too if you donh't like relative values expressed by percentage.
Also, think about using frames that are positioned horizontally not vertically. This way Forms always stays on top and the opened page will be scrollable in the second frame.

I have created a form library that will used to create folders within that. The folder creation is done using an InfoPath Form that has been uploaded to the Form Library. When the new folder was created the name will be displayed at the Name column within

If you want to show the name of folder in another column, a workaround is that you can create an extra column, then create a SharePoint Designer workflow to set the value of
this column with the name of folder.

Hyperlinks within .PDF document won't open in browser.

So what I want to happen is when I click a hyperlink within a .PDF file which is opened via Adobe Reader XI, I want a new tab/browser (the link) to be opened with/in Chrome.
Currently when I hover my mouse over a link, it turns into a clicky hand thing with a tiny letter 'w' and the address floats above in a box. When I try to shift/normal/ctrl click the link, nothing happens.

Yes. If I open this .pdf file in chrome and click the link, a new tab will open with the link.
Also, I just found something else out. When I open the settings in Adobe Reader and try clicking on the 'help' links such as 'What is protected view' under 'security', I get a message saying "Online help content cannot be displayed. Verify you can launch your web browser and have access to the Internet".

Display the records in forms when creating in a database

i have a problem in forms, run in c\s using form6i..
How can i display the records when i create a records to database and automatically display in forms when i open the forms or when creating a records?
example:
in form#1 , this is where i create records, i create records =A it will insert in database .when i update record A. I change A to B..then form#2 will also change to B and appear or dispaly in forms.
in form#2, this has also a text item, when i open this form, it will appear the A records here, it will also update....
what should be the best trigger to used and how to do this? plzzz help

change to B and appear or dispaly in forms.Yours question is not clear to me , you didnt mention forms A and B contain the same underlying table or both have diffrent underlying table.
My assumption both have diffrent table if its the case then use MERGE DML (introduced within 9i) and get refreshed it by TIMER (execute_query) within forms B.
You need to clarify more what you wana achieve.

Easy Question: How to identify user roles within form?

Hi folks,
I would like to display/hide button which calls static data maintenance form (from other form) based on current user roles.
If user has role "STATIC_DATA" granted then DISPLAY button (which calls static data form), else DO NOT DISPLAY it.
Any example, how to get user roles within form?

Running package within forms

Does anybody know how to run a package within forms (in the background?)
Example: I need to run a package to update some tables but I don't want the user to have to wait for that package to complete before making modifications to the form. It is less than a 10 second wait but it appears that the form is hung up.

Before you start the process, your form could display a stacked canvas telling the user to wait, and then after the package returned control to the form, the form could hide the canvas.

Oracle Forms 11gR2 - Cannot deploy locally from within Forms

I cannot deploy locally from within forms. The server is up and running and I can deploy the form by putting the correct URL in the address line of the browser window. When I try to deploy from within forms it comes up with some crazy URL that differs everytime.
This is what the URL should be and this works from the browser:
http://machinename:7002/forms/frmservlet?form=WRD608ADMIN_11g.fmx&userid=&otherparams=useSDI=yes
Here is one of the URLs it came up with when I try to run it from within Forms:
http://localhost:60231/lysVL2VjqT33znjfvLwanktVRxTIc6dEwVeRNXXRmhYU2qjf
Localhost is always there, but the rest varies.
In Forms, I have the Preferences, Runtime set to:
http://machinename:7002/forms/frmservlet
Where machine name is my PC, it is the same for this address as the URL above that works directly from the browser.
So what am I missing?

Generally speaking, it is discouraged to manually edit any of the configuration files if they are managed by WLS Console or EM. In this case, default.env is managed by EM. Therefore, changes to the file should be done through EM. If however, you want to alter the file manually, the following is likely the best way to accomplish this:
1. Stop the WLS Admin Server and Node Manager
2. Locate the proper file you wish to edit. By proper I mean, there are several copies of most config files. Most of the config files found in the Oracle Home are actually template files and are not used at runtime. Altering these will not give you the change you want. The default.env you want would be here (assuming Windows)
C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\ClassicDomain\config\fmwconfig\servers\WLS_FORMS\applications\formsapp_11.1.2\config
If you are using a "Development" installation type, the above path will reflect AdminServer instead of WLS_FORMS. Remember that Development installations are not for multi-user purposes. Production deployments require the "Deployment" installation type, which can also include the Builders.
Do NOT make any changes yet.
3. Once you find the correct file, create a backup copy. Then open the file for edit (not the backup).
4. Make the desired changes and save.
5. Restart Node Manager and Admin Server if you plan to use them.

Need help in displaying a feed within my flex app

Now when I run this I get a prompt that is telling me that if the program is already running to stop the program... I have no idea what program it is that i'm running that would prompt that type of dialogue box.
I also get these errors:

I did try HTTPService but the problem that I was seeing was that I would need to push the information into a datagrid and that really doesn't help me witth presentation of the blog posts.
What if I create a custom component that takes the RSS feed and parses it into sections like so:
Title
Description
Link
Where lets say the title is like so:

How to display different Time Statement forms in ITS service PZ04

Hi all,
I am working on a underlyinge R/3 4.7 system and are working with standalone ITS and ESS 50.4. I am posting this question to find out if any of you has experience with my problem.
The business wishes to use the ITS transation PZ04 standard and wish to be able to display different Time Statement forms in the transaction through customized variants for the report(RPTEDT00) that the PZ04 transaction executes. In the IMG it is posted that one variant has to be created called HRESS_TEDT00 and this works, but restricts the PZ04 transaction to always be called with this variant and therebye the same Time Statement form every time.
I then by debugging found that the underlying ABAP code processed from SAP standard has a variable VARIANT that is hardcode to = HRESS_TEDT00.
The question is: Is there anyway to setup the PZ04 transaction so that it can be dynamic decided which variant should be used, f.ex. from persons subarea from infotype 0001?

Leading Zeros won't display on a PDF form

Hey, I am using Acrobat 7.0 professional on my Windows XP system. I have a PDF that was sent to me by someone known. This PDF is already fielded (meaning, I can type in my name and other relevant info in the form). However; I am trying to populate info on this PDF using an online data collection tool. Therefore, I deleted all the original fielding from the PDF and fielded it again using the naming conventions that match with the online data collection tool variables. After doing so, all other information is populating very well on the PDF but the values with leading zeros are not populating on the PDF. When I double click that field to check the properties and go to the "Options" tab, I see the value with leading zero that is being extracted from the online data collection tool; however it is not displaying it on the form. Moreover, if I try to modify any of the properties of that field; the value with leading zeros suddenly appears on the PDF Form.
Could anyone please assist me to identify as to what is causing the values with leading zeros not to populate on the PDF form...

Well, that was my guess. It may be that it is there, but you can't see it. There have been some issues of the information in a field not always displaying correctly. I have not experienced it, but remember such happens. You might want to search the forum. Bill

This happens to me all the time.
If is a one page PDF it seems as though it comes over already open and inline in the body of the email. Multiple page PDF files show as the PDF icon.
I can't find any official documentation of this - other than based on my own experience with PDF attachments in my various email accounts.

Displaying chinese character through Forms

Database 10.2.0.2.0

Server is UNIX AIX version 5.3
Client is XP
I've got a requirement to enable Chinese characters to be displayed through an Oracle form and most likely entered.
The Characterset sets for the database:
NLS_CHARACTERSET WE8ISO8859P1
NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET AL16UTF16
As we only have to store a small amount of Chinese data, possible just 2 text fields I've chosen to use 1 NVARCHAR and 1 NCLOB rather than changing the base characterset.
I've managed to enter data into a NVARCHAR column using SQLDEVELOPER so I know I can physically store the characters but at the moment when I try and display the characters in the screen I get upside down question marks.
After reading a couple of white papers I thought I had made the required changes to the app server for it to work. I've updated the following files to include a step to set the NLS_LANG variable to ENGLISH_UNITED KINGDOM.UTF8.
./forms/server/default.env
./opmn/conf/opmn.xml
I've included a GET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY call in a test form to return the current NLS_LANG setting at runtime, it is ENGLISH_UNITED KINGDOM.UTF8;
So am I missing something is it a font thing?
Is it a font thing, although I thought I would get boxes displayed if it was down to a missing font?
If anyone could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

If I remember correctly, Oracle Forms do not support NCHAR text items. All text is treated as VARCHAR2 until it reaches the database. But this means that Chinese characters are converted to the database character set when traveling over network. Only after being converted to WE8ISO8859P1 (yielding reverted question marks), they are finally converted to AL16UTF16 in the database.
I do not remember if client-side PL/SQL supports NVARCHAR2 in variables and parameters. If it does (Forms 9.0 and higher), you may try to pass the values from text items to a Forms procedure through NVARCHAR2 parameters, then to a database stored procedure, again through NVARCHAR2 parameters, and the stored procedure can insert the values into the database. (Similarly for a query.)

Displaying AVI Files in Forms 6i

I have various multimedia files sotred in BLOB format and I want to display them on a form in Forms 6i.
I have had no problem with Images but I want to be able to display Movie Clips in AVI format.
I set the property of the ITEM TYPE to OLE CONTAINER and OLE CLASS to AVIFILE but I still can't see the movie clip. I am doing this the wrong way?
Does anybody know how to do it?
