Oracle Forms 11gR2 - Cannot deploy locally from within Forms

I cannot deploy locally from within forms.  The server is up and running and I can deploy the form by putting the correct URL in the address line of the browser window.  When I try to deploy from within forms it comes up with some crazy URL that differs everytime.
This is what the URL should be and this works from the browser:
http://machinename:7002/forms/frmservlet?form=WRD608ADMIN_11g.fmx&userid=&otherparams=useSDI=yes
Here is one of the URLs it came up with when I try to run it from within Forms:
http://localhost:60231/lysVL2VjqT33znjfvLwanktVRxTIc6dEwVeRNXXRmhYU2qjf
Localhost is always there, but the rest varies.
In Forms, I have the Preferences, Runtime set to:
http://machinename:7002/forms/frmservlet
Where machine name is my PC, it is the same for this address as the URL above that works directly from the browser.
So what am I missing?
Thank you in advance.

Generally speaking, it is discouraged to manually edit any of the configuration files if they are managed by WLS Console or EM.  In this case, default.env is managed by EM.  Therefore, changes to the file should be done through EM.  If however, you want to alter the file manually, the following is likely the best way to accomplish this:
1.  Stop the WLS Admin Server and Node Manager
2.  Locate the proper file you wish to edit.  By proper I mean, there are several copies of most config files.  Most of the config files found in the Oracle Home are actually template files and are not used at runtime.  Altering these will not give you the change you want.  The default.env you want would be here (assuming Windows)
C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\ClassicDomain\config\fmwconfig\servers\WLS_FORMS\applications\formsapp_11.1.2\config
If you are using a "Development" installation type, the above path will reflect AdminServer instead of WLS_FORMS.  Remember that Development installations are not for multi-user purposes.  Production deployments require the "Deployment" installation type, which can also include the Builders.
Do NOT make any changes yet.
3.  Once you find the correct file, create a backup copy.  Then open the file for edit (not the backup).
4.  Make the desired changes and save.
5.  Restart Node Manager and Admin Server if you plan to use them.
For more information about using EM to manage your configuration, refer to the product documentation:
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E38115_01/doc.111210/e24477/configure.htm#CHDCCGHI

    I have a form that is built based on Oracle tables.
    I need to execute a Select statement via ODBC from within Forms procedures. This is going to a SQL Server DB to get some information for validation purpose.
    I do not need to bring this in to a Forms Block.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi
    What version of forms do you use? If you use forms 6i, take a look at the EXEC_SQL package. You can access oracle databases and ODBC databases (using OCA) independently of the main database connection -- well, I never tried but that is what the documentation says.
    I am not sure about version 9i... the package is there, but I could not find anything in the help about it (what is not a good sign...)

    Are you able to email from Mail with those two accounts?  If so:
    1 - go to iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete both accounts. Now add them back and try again.
    2 - a better solution IMO is to set Mail as the email client for iPhoto is iPhoto's General preference pane.  This gives you better access to your contacts, a sent copy of all emails and, if you want a layout similar to iPhoto's, photo layouts located in Mail's stationary.

  • Deploying ear from within JDeveloper9.0.2 to ias9.0.2

    Hi,
    Is there a way to deploy an enterprise archive from within JDeveloper9.0.2 to an Oracle ias9.0.2 instance. If I try to deploy my application I get the following message:
    Security error: This operation was denied. The admin.jar utility can not be used to perform operations against OPMN managed OC4J instnaces. Please use Enterprise Manager or dcmctl instead. Refer to the Oracle9iAS Admin Guide or the OC4J User's Guide for more details.
    Exit status of Oracle9iAS admin tool (-deploy): 1
    I'm guessing that with the new ias version I can only deploy by using oem or dcmctl, but wouldn't it be convenient if we still could use JDev?
    Thx,
    -J.
    BTW. What are 'instnaces' ;-)

    You are correct ... you must use dcmctl or OEM - see:
    Re: Conditional execution in pl/sql
    But JDev 9.0.3 will have the ability to invoke the DCM deployment utility within its application server connections.
    As for "instances" - it is a term meant to describe multiple instances of OC4J within Oracle9iAS. In fact, you can multiple application server instances with multiple OC4J instances in each. This clustering architecture is what necessitated the need for dcmctl. For a quick architecture overview with a nice diagram check out:

  • Cannot Launch .app from within Acrobat/Reader

    I made a software program that runs in/from Adobe. I burn it to DVD and sell it. Our PC users are fine, but our Mac users are having trouble. Within the program, there is a link/action set to "Open a File". The "file" is actually a Filemaker Runtime. When our Mac users click on the link/action, there is a message that says "FileMaker Pro.app is set to be launched by this PDF file......". Click "Open". The next message says "Could not open the file".
    There are 3 types of Filemaker Runtime files ending with extensions .ACR, .ZAR, .ZAS. I've created File Associations for the Mac to read these types of files and open with FileMaker. Our Mac users CAN open the files by drilling down through the folders and opening the file directly - but we don't want them to have to do this! That defeats the whole purpose of the link/action!
    My questions is: Why can't Adobe launch the FileMaker Pro.app, or open the "file" from within? Why do our customers have to go into the folder, drill down and open the file directly?

    Tembowa - Thank you for trying to help me.
    What do you mean by "next to" the PDF?
    The link/action to "launch" the .app file is "in" the PDF document.
    Please help me understand your question.

  • Cannot deploy EJB from JDev 3.2

    Dear Sirs,
    When you try to create a deployment profile using JDeveloper 3.2 step #2 of the wizard asks for "select a type of deployment". In Jdeveloper 3.1.1.2 the option "deploy Enterprise Java Bean (EJB) to Oracle8i". But in release 3.2 that option is taken away.
    Does this mean Jdeveloper does not support the EJB 1.1 spec (i.e. the XML deployment descriptor)? Or must I upgrade the database from 8.1.6 to 8.1.7. Or is this a bug?
    regards.

    Hello:
    Can anyone helps us with this EJB problem in Oracle? :
    With JDeveloper 3.1.12 we can deploy with the wizard an EJB component in Oracle (database) 8.1.6 but the client test fails with the following message:
    "oracle.jbo.ApplicationModuleCreateException:
    JBO-25222: Unable to create application module...."
    In an Oracle error log file (in the bdump directory) we find the following information:
    "Attempt to call System.getProperties failed
    ...skipping...
    at oracle.jbo.server.remote.ejb.EJBApplicationModuleImpl.ejbCreate
    (EJBApplicationModuleImpl.java:183)..."
    We think that the problem is related with:
    1- memory parameters of Oracle 8i ?
    2- Java security permissions in the server ?
    Thanks you for your help.

  • Cannot deploy EntityBean from Weblogic 5.1

    Hi everyone,
    I'm relatively new to EJB deployment, but there is an Entity bean that I was able to deploy using Weblogic 4.0 and fail to do the same with Weblogic 5.1, although I'm going through all the necessary steps, like creating xmls (ejb_jar, weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar, and weblogic-ejb-jar), creating a jar file, and recompiling it using weblogic.ejbc, and that's where it stops. While it works fine with session beans, every time I'm trying to deploy entity bean, it gives me the following message:
    ERROR: Error from ejbc: [9.1.5.1] In EJB EmployerEntityEJB, there is an ejbPostCreate method ejbPostCreate() that has no matching ejbCreate method.
    Yet my ejbCreate and ejbPostCreate methods do match, unless I'm missing something, but at this point I have no idea what exactly. Any kind of help would be great, 'cause I'm almost out of ideas.
    Here's the code I'm working on:
    EmployerEntity.java:
    import java.rmi.*;
    import java.sql.*;
    import javax.ejb.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public interface EmployerEntity extends EJBObject, Remote {
    public boolean postingUpdate(Hashtable posting) throws RemoteException,SQLException;
    public void callingBreakHashtable(Hashtable posting) throws RemoteException;
    EmployerEntityHome.java:
    import java.rmi.*;
    import javax.ejb.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    import javax.naming.*;
    public interface EmployerEntityHome extends EJBHome{
    public EmployerEntity create(Hashtable posting) throws RemoteException, EJBException, CreateException;
    public EmployerEntity findByPrimaryKey(EmployerEntityPK job_id) throws FinderException,RemoteException;
    public EmployerEntity findByPosition(int job_id) throws FinderException,RemoteException;
    EmployerEntityPK.java:
    import java.io.Serializable;
    public class EmployerEntityPK {
    public int job_id;
    and finally EmployerEntityBean.java (I left only ejbCreat and ejbPostCreate methods, so that I won't confuse anybody):
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    import javax.ejb.*;
    import javax.naming.*;
    import java.rmi.*;
    import java.sql.*;
    //and local classes
    public class EmployerEntityBean extends LocalClassEntityBean {
    Hashtable posting=new Hashtable();
    public EmployerEntityBean() {}
    public EmployerEntityPK ejbCreate(Hashtable posting) throws EJBException, CreateException {
    if (posting_entity_flag)
    this.posting=posting;
    callingBreakHashtable(posting);
    Syslog.debug(this,"EJBCreate Called ");
    return null;
    public void ejbPostCreate(Hashtable posting) throws EJBException {
    Syslog.debug(this,"EJBPostCreate Called ");
    Thanks for your help.
    PS. Also, could it be that the error that I'm getting might be caused by something other than simply mismatching ejbCreate and ejbPostCreate? If so, what are the other possible reasons?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    First of all, you don't need to add EJBException in your method definition as its a runtime exception. Next your ejbPostCreate() is missing the CreateException and thats the reason you have a mismatch.
    Also your remote interface should extend EJBObject ( which is a subclass of java.rmi.Remote). Catch the SQLException and rethrow it as an EJBException with proper message. And finally I take it that LocalClassEntityBean implements EntityBean.
    Best wishes

  • Mk:@MSITStore cannot open file from within RoboHelp

    Have recently upgraded to RoboHelp 8 and now see the much discussed "Cannot open the file: mk:@MSITStore:<path>" error but only when trying to view .chm files from RoboHelp for Word, by clicking "View Primary Layout".  Weirdly enough, some projects display the .chm correctly when clicking "View Result" right after generating the help file, some projects do not.  Viewing .chm directly from output location is always fine.  For very small projects, the "View Primary Layout" button seems to work.  For very large projects, the error message always occurs.  I've un-registered and re-registered hhctrl.ocx as well as downloaded, replaced and registered the previous ocx version (4.73.8412.0) as well as re-registered itss.dll  The OS is Windows XP Professional with IE 7.  Suggestions please?  Thanks!

    I recently ran into a problem viewing some pdfs and Word Documents in a generated html help file.
    Setup:
    pdfs and .docs in baggage files
    links to the baggage files created in tables
    2 tables in each topic
    pdfs/docs in first table in each topic opened without a problem
    pdfs/docs in second table would not open -  address bar display:
    (Example)
    mk:@MSITStore:C:\EOCs\!SSL!\Microsoft_HTML_Help\BlueMedicare_EOCs.chm::/2012_EOCs/2012_WS_ Book.pdf
    (Pause for much gnashing of teeth, pulling of hair, angst, frustration and thinking) but no pdf (or Word doc)
    I can't change registry entries or any other computer settings.  No administrative rights.
    Anyway, it couldn't be an outdated registry entry because within one project, some pdfs and docs displayed as expected and others didn't.
    Checked to see what the differences were in the tables/cells that worked vs the ones that didn't.
    Looking at the HTML,  I found "target=_blank" in each row of the tables that failed to display a baggage file.
    I replaced "target=_blank" with no replacement text -  I left Replace with blank.
    Voila!  All pdfs and docs open just as expected.
    I hope this helps someone.
