Display debugging message in jboss environment

Hi every body,
I am trying to plot a graph using jfreechart on jsp page. I want to debug because I fount the class cast exception error.
Can you tell me please that how can I dispaly debugging message using jboss environment.
Where can I look this message.

Perhaps you have to look at Log4J: [http://logging.apache.org/guidelines.html].
The standard log directory should be: jboss-4.2.1.GA\server\default\log

How to display debug message on non-debug player

I have a debug version of flash player on my computer and in case of error it displays detailed messages together with affected filenames and stack trace. I would like to achieve the same on a non-debug player, for example filling a TextArea with all these error messages and then displaying it. I tried this:
loaderInfo.uncaughtErrorEvents.addEventListener function, where I call the errorEvent.toString();
the output is as follows:

The non-debug player doesn't output anything. Some folks build facilities
into their app like a hidden text control that stores output for later
display with some magic key sequence.

Debug messages in log4j

I'm using log4j and JBoss and I'm getting a large number of debug statements in my log file. Does anyone know how to disable these debug statements?

Just today I went through the same horrible ordeal.
A couple notes about the default JBoss log4j.xml file it seems to affect the logging somewhat, from my understanding you SHOULD do this:
The <root> category should have a priority added:
<root>
<priority value="WARN" />
<appender-ref ref="CONSOLE"/>
<appender-ref ref="FILE"/>
</root>
That should set the default root category to only display WARNING messages. There's another category (name="org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.JBossManagedConnectionPool") with priority set to TRACE. Change that to WARN or ERROR.
I set up my own server directory structure and left out the log4j.jar from the lib directory, so it hadn't been actually reading the XML file. Just something to watch out for.
Another thing I found was that the bin/run.jar has a log4j.properties file with rootCategory=DEBUG which generates the boot.log file. I un-jarred the file and set that to INFO, then re-jarred it... I couldn't get rid of all the DEBUG messages without doing so.

Unable to display information message written inside badi

Hi All,
In customer creation i want to display Info message after pessing save button. I have written the message inside the badi. I can see my message in debugging mode in status bar, which on debugging mode off can't able to see. I tried with more than 25 scenarios got from SDN forum as well as suggested by someone.
Please reply if u have implemented sucessfully the same kind of reqirement.

I wrote message inside the method preset sale area of badi customer_add_data.
The message ls "Message 'some text' type 'I' "
In debugging mode when the cursor reaches to my message then as soon as i press F5, this message get displayed in the status bar and with one more F5 it disappears.
So like this i wrote that the message appears only in fraction of second that when without debugging mode i process the transaction it doesn't appears and i can't see this.

hi,
yes it is possbel to have a pop window but for that you need to use some function modules some of them are mentioned below hope they help you.
1. POPUP_WITH_WARNING-->this is used to display warning
2 .POPUP_TO_DECIDE--> in this user gets 3 line of text and 3 options to choose
3.POPUP_FOR_CONDITIONS--> this an other fm used for dynami or condition during run time
4.POPUP_TO_DISPLAY_USERDATA--> this is intresting fm try it your own...
and you can have many more
just goto tcode SE37 and write POPUP_* and then F4 you will get a whole list of popup function module.

Check space in the end to display warning message.

I am currently working on validations on functional locations in the EDIT MASK. the code is already written for validations on to check for space in the beginning of the each level in the edit mask. however user requirement is that the program should produce warning messages for spaces regardless of where they appear in the Edit Mask. we have not validated to check for space at the end of each level.
I have checked with condense ,shift string right deleting trailing spaces however I am not able to check for space at the end of levels.
when i debugged the program the level8 length shows as 2 even though there is only one char in the level8. i
could you please suggest any possible solution or any keywords that would help. you can go through the below code which is already written for checking space in the begining.

i have added this code to display warning message using shift.

You can use REGEX for string parsing, it is really handy. If you would like to test it out check out program "demo_regex_toy".
Trailing space:
FIND REGEX '[ ]+$' IN lv_text.
leading space
FIND REGEX '^[ ]+' IN lv_text.
Any space
FIND ALL OCCURRENCES OF REGEX '[ ]+' IN lv_text.

Problem with access to SipFactory from jsp-pages in JBoss environment

Hello!
I have an installation of the OCMS 10.1.3.3. deployed into a JBoss (jboss-4.0.5.GA) environment. Unfortunately I have a problem with accessing the SipFactory from a jps-page. Encouraged by the "messagesender" example I tried to get an instance of SipFactory from my jsp-page simply by calling:
SipFactory sipFactory = (SipFactory) application.getAttribute(SipServlet.SIP_FACTORY);
But unfortunately there seems to be no attribute "SipServlet.SIP_FACTORY" and I only get a null pointer. I have also tried running that code in the orignal messagesender example but it didn't work either. So I wonder if this should definetely work in a JBoss environment or if this might be a known problem. Is there anything that I could check/do regarding this problem? I suppose there must be an oracle module which should take care of making the SipFactory availabe after it is deployed. Perhaps something went wrong during the deployment?!

On JBoss, OCMS does not support converge applications.
I.e the SipFactory can be retrieved from the servlet context when running on OC4J.
Instead the SipFactory can be found in JNDI as described in the Developer's Guide:
"External Access to SIP Servlets
To enable convergent applications between SIP and HTTP, the OCMS Container allows you to get access to the javax.servlet.sip.SipFactory by looking it up through JNDI. The SIP Factory will be registered under the same name as the display name of your SIP servlet as illustrated in Example 2–12. The <display-name> in the sip.xml in this case must be "My sip app".

How to insert debug messages in a report

All,
I am facing a problem with one report in apps environment.
When I run the sql in toad or when I run the report from reports
builder I am getting data. But, when I run the same report using
concurrent program I am not getting any data for the same inputs.
I am not sure what is wrong. I want to put some debug messages.
Can you please tell me how to put debug messages in reports?

How sxmb_moni is displaying the messages

Hi,
I want to know how sxmb_moni is displaying the error information.
when messages are listed and we select one error message.If we click error_information button it displays a pop up with detailed errors.
Can some one please tell me from where it retrieves the messages. is it from any data base table.

you are right as i am calling the cl_proxy_fault and passing the exception class name.
But my requirement is can i know where this error messgae will get stored.
I feel tht unless it stores in database table it will not display the message in sxmb_moni.
( Here i am talking about additional error information )

Debug Messages missing in Forms 9i?

When running a form from forms designer with debug messages checked I don't get a message displaying the trigger name, I only get a Please Acknowledge Message alert box.
Is there a setting that I may have inadvertently set that would prevent the messages from being displayed?
Forms version 9.0.2.12.2.

P.S. We have just started to assess Forms 10g (9.0.4) for Windows and have noticed huge improvements in performance - about 50%! Don't know what you guys have done but initial impressions are excellent. We are looking to roll this out to production as soon as possible.

The problem with debug messages is a known one (Bug 3376171) and will be fixed in forms 10. (not 10g - 9.0.4)

Displaying full message headers

I'm trying to debug a BlackBerry-specific email issue and I need to be able to display full message headers in a BlackBerry to be able to do. My searching around the net has only dug up two or three folks saying it's not possible. Is this true? If not, how do I do it? I've been through every option screen I can find.

ADF FACES: af:messages/ does not display my messages at all

I am having an issue displaying messages using ADF MyFaces EA20.

Within all backing beans I call messages with the following method to conveniently display messages when needed.

With the first login page when validating username and password, the messages I send to the context display correctly, for example, incorrect password please try again and this uses exactly the same code as above in the backing bean.
However once a session has started the messages simply do not get displayed and are not included in the HTML the <af:messages /> is replaced with nothing.
No runtime exception is thrown.
If anyone has any idea of why the messages are not being displayed I would be very grateful to hear them.
Finally if I may add that I used this method of displaying messages in a previous project and it was fine. This time the only difference is that I am using Hibernate.
The closest answer I could find to a similar issue with Oracle Forums was:
The messages have to be added before the Render Response phase. It's generally very unusual to add messages in a bean getter/setter. I'd restrict yourself to adding messages in event listeners and actions.
I do put messages in my setter methods as this is where I perform validation, but I have tried moving them to the main method called by the action button and this still does not display my messages.

There is a standard way? Next time you can simply tell me to RTFM ;-) . I am working on a project and was assigned my particular section and was told that the messaging aspect and validation was not urgent, until now near the end of the project when it has become urgent. Rather then listen to my colleagues answer of "this is the way to do it" your answer suggested that we working in a non-standard way.
Having looked at Oracle JDeveloper 10g (10.1.3) Documentation, Validation, Conversion, and the Application Lifecycle section I noticed:
Render response:
Either display new page based on invoked navigation rules, or displays same page with errors.
I was providing a new navigation String to the same page under all conditions, which I guess gives a new context and so does not display the messages. Under error conditions I now return an empty navigation String and now it displays my messages.
Thank you for your help with this and I promise to read the manual next time.

Display error message in batch job log

Hello
I have a batch job running and I have an error coming during some validation logic.
The problem is I need to continue the batch job when this error message comes and it should not cancel the batch job as it is doing currently but display that error message in batch job log, there are more similar error messages coming in job log and job gets finished, but when my error message comes job gets cancelled.
I cannot give it as info message as it will give wrong idea about message type.
Is there any FM by which we can add message in job log?

If you see in screenshot 3rd message is given by me as information and you can see error messages also 6th and 7th and job continued till it is finished

You can build a form to a procedure in oracle portal that explores the queue with the option browse and prints de type message with htp package. I made it in this way and my applicattion works right. The procedure must loop the select count(msgid) from aq$[queuetable_name] times.

HT4061 iTunes will not open when my iPhone 4S is attached to my Mac Book Pro. iTunes will start up but as soon as my iPhone appears in the list of devices the program then quits and displays the message 'iTune Quit Unexpectedly'? Can anybody help?

The Problem/s
1. I am unable to sync my iPhone 4S with my Mac Book Pro, either by cable, wifi or bluetooth
2. iTunes will initiall open and briefly identifies the iPhone in the Device section in iTunes.
3. When iTunes starts to read the iPhone (displaying the spinning wheel), it immediately then quits and
4. Opens a 'dialogue box' which displays the message "iTunes Quit Unexpectedly"
5 The dialoge box offers the following button options to:-
'Show Details'
The 'Show Details' button will open and display a list of the 'Problem Details and System Configeration'. To the average user the information is useless, as one doesn't know what to look for to solve the problem. This is a long and detailed report (too long to include in this message), which includes information such as:-
Crashed Thread: 20
Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x00000000000006f0
'OK'
The 'Ok' button simply quits and closes the dialogue box
'Reopen'
The 'Reopen' button will again reopen iTunes, briefly showing that it is trying to read the iPhone in the Devices section, but then returns again to display the same dialogue box.
Other Information
1. iTunes will still start normally once the USB cable is removed from the Mac book Pro, but crashes again once the USB cable is reattached to the computer
Any advice or help offered would be greatly appreciated.
