Display In Between  Prompts Value in Report Title

Hi All,
I want to show the in between dashboard prompt value in Report.
So that when user download the report he will come to know the date range.
I have gone through the couple of links but it does not work.
I tries the below one but when ever i am selected the to_date it reset the from date also.

Thanks
Nawneet

I would add one thing to Saichand's solution which I use for the situation you describe. If you create two dashboard prompts one for the "from" date and the other for the "to" date and then modify your filter on the date column to be:
datecolumn >= @{From_Date} AND datecolumn <= @{To_Date}
...then you just need to add two more columns to your report to house the presentation variables. Make these columns the first two so that in your Narrative View you can reference them as "Between @1 and @2"
You don't need another report to place on top of your current one, just add the Narrative View to your existing report.

  • Presentation Variable - Display 'All Values' in Report Title

If I create a Dashboard Prompt and then set it equal to a Presentation Variable, I then display this Presentation variable in the report title. For the Dashboard Prompt I allow them the 'All Values' choice, in fact, this is the default.
The issue is displaying this in the Report Title, when it is 'All Value' nothing is display in the title, when they select a value such as 'Region D' then it works and this value will dispaly.
I looked at the documentation and it says you can use a default value, however, setting up that still does not work. It still is blank.
Has anyone seen this issue or know of a workaround? I'd like to have something like 'All Vales' display or is there a condition I could write to set this.
    Thanks

    Hi Guys,
I have did the following in order to achieve your requirement:
As usual, create a request with a column prompted and a dashboard prompt containing that column and set the Presentation Variable (ex: varDept)... bla bla..
Placed them on the Dashboard to generate your issue, discussed...
Now, what I have did is:
    1. Created one more Request with the column used on Prompt and specified the Formula to it as:
CASE WHEN '@{Dept}'||'A'='A' THEN 'All Departments' ELSE '@{Dept}' END
Note: Take 2 same columns (and hide one) because we are using above formula which does not contains the Column from any table.
    2. Created Narrative View and referenced the above Column.. @2 (in my case).. and specify 1 in 'Rows to Display' field. Do the formatting as required viz., specifying Font size, family....
    3. Place this request in between the Prompt and First Request..
Now, you can able to see 'All Departments' if 'All Choices' is selected.
Hope this idea will helps you guys..

  • Passing dynamic prompt value using Report Engine SDK

    Hello Experts,
I have created a webi report which contains prompt. Using SDK, I would like to catch the value of prompt which is selected by a user at runtime.
e.g. If prompt contains values year, quarter, month, etc and user has selected value of u2018Quarteru2019 at run time, then I would like to catch that value using Report Engine SDK.
I tried to implement prompt.getCurrentValues(). However that is not working.
Can someone please help me to figure out the way to catch this dynamic prompt value using Report Engine SDK?
    Thanks,
    John

Where is the prompt values being set, and where are you trying to catch it?
    Workflow description is missing here.

  • Showing prompt value in report - Need Urgent help

    Hi All,
I have created a query that has a prompt (it is not the dashboard prompt) that has " in Between" operator. It is on date column. When i am generating report by passing the prompt value the data is coming properly.
I have downloaded the report in excel format and it is coming perfect. But i am not able to provide the data that he has selected in the prompt.
Like on top of page i need to show - The report is genrated for Date1 to Date2.
    And then the data.
Thanks in advance for any clue. I am not able to figure out how to do this.
    Thanks
    Ashok

    Hi Ashok,
It seems it's possible, but not with the Filters view... but with Narrative View....
If you have Calendar Date (which contains all dates till today) column in your model, then... if you want to show only the date prompt values on top even though you have all other prompts...
For above mentioned criteria... you can't show only one date using filters view...
    Now... go with Narrative View,
In that particular report add Calendar Date column 2 times...
On one column apply Max(date) and on another column apply Min(Date)....
    Hide those...
Now note down the positions of these above 2 columns in criteria... say 6 & 7... respectively...
Now you write in narrative view...
Selected Date between @ and @6
So... based on the dates you selected.. the calendar date populate with the values and would hold the max and min i.e. what... selected values of your prompts...
So by using this.. you can only show.. one prompt.... not all the prompts which you have...
May helpful to you when you have .. Calendar Date only... remember ;)
    Thanks & Regards

  • Or between prompted columns in report filter

    Hi,
If I give an 'Or' between two prompts in the report filter, as below:-
    Value Date is prompted
    OR Trade Date is prompted
... then the condition does not apply on the report.
    I am using dashboard prompts
    OBI version is 10.1.3.4.1
Is there a way around this?
    thanks,
    Gaurav

    Hi,
If I hard code in the report filter and use or between the conditions then it works fine.
The prompted filters are not working with 'Or' in between.
It looks like a bug. Can something be done about it?
Using a presenation variable should work, but it will have some other limitations.
    thanks,
    Gaurav

  • Save Prompt Value on report closing

    Hi,
we are facing a problem with some users.
They are not (and must not be) allowed to modify reports in a public folder.
They are only allowed to refresh the reports, updating some prompts value.
We wish to let them save the new inserted prompt's value automatically every time they close the reports.
Is it possible, without giving them the rights for modifying reports and not force them to click on save button?
    Thanks in advance.
    Lorenzo

A workaround is to grant the users the "Edit objects" right in the public folder the reports reside in  but then deny all editor functionalities under Applications->Web Intelligence->Advanced rights. Please keep in mind that this way the users will NOT be able to really edit any web intelligence reports (regardless of the folder the report resides in)

  • Prompt parameter in Report Title

I have created one summary report and this report has two drill downs detail reports. First Summary Report is Sales report by Country, Second report is sales report by State and Third report is Detail Sales Report.
I am passing parameter Country on second report. I used Narrative View to show Selected Country name on the report Title. This is working and Selected Country Name is appearing on Title (Narrative View). But Some reason I am unable to show State name on third Report. Still it is showing Country Name on third report. I want to show State name on it. Any idea?

  • Displaying Answers Date Prompts in Title of Report

I come from a BO background and we are now implementing OBIEE into our environment. My question revolves around the display of dashboard prompt values in the Answers report title.
I have a Dashboard Prompt built that uses the expression 'DateColumn' between - user inputs their two values using the Calendar control.
Is there anyway with this scenario to display what the user chooses in the Answers report title? In the Answers criteria I have set the criteria for the 'DateColumn' to be prompted.
I see you can assign some of the Dashboard prompts to variables, however, you can't do it when you using the Between logic or the Greater than logic.
I look forward to any input and thank you so much in advance!

I presume you are aware of the filters view that shows you all the filters applied to the report, but you want the parameters in the title and no where else.
The other option is not simple. You could make your Dashboard prompts as equalities, and then you could save the parameters to Presentation Variables and pass the parameters to a nested report inside a narrative iframe where you construct the real query. An excellent example of this is Venkatakrishnan's blog in the URL below:
    http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2008/02/19/oracle-bi-ee-101332-passing-operators-in-dashboard-prompts-go-url-and-presentation-variables/

  • How to use the prompt value in the report column

    Hi
I have a report prompt column which is 'Adj Type' which holds values 10,20,30 and when user selects Adj Type = 10 then this value should be passed to report column.
For Eg. Column 1 value is 10 and this should multiple with prompt value and the output should be 10* 10.
Any thoughts how to capture the prompt values in report column for calculation.

    hi hsekar,
    1) Declare a presentation variable in prompt under the Set Variable section -->Presentation Variable -->P_var
    2) In Fx Table_name.Your_column * @{P_Var}
@{P_var}{20} ( 20 is default value it will override when a user selects value in prompt

  • Hiding report title in Group Tree View Pane

In a .rpt file, if I provide a Group Field, it is displayed in the "Group Tree View" when I preview the report.
The Group Tree View pane also contains the name of the report - actually the title. Is there a way that I can choose not to show report title on this pane?
    Here is my requirement:
I'm localizing the report file and that includes localizing group names too. I've also localized the report title by using a formula and displaying the formula in the report header. But this pane - Group Tree View -  uses report title from "Special Fields", which I'm not able to modify. So I'm always getting the non-localized report title displayed on this pane, which I want to avaid somehow.
If I remove report title from the report properties, this pane shows report file name instead, which again i do not want to be displayed.
    Rgds,
    Chris

After removing the report title from the report properties try to place a space " " in the report title field in summaryinfo so that a blank space is shown in the group tree.

You can achieve this using Customer Exit or BADI. Check the folllowing link.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/ac/ef1f43daac9a448f0150a02e3a7aba/content.htm
    If you are using BADI
You can create Virtual CHAR in BADI using transaction SE19
In this transaction you can create a new or display the existing BADI.
There you can see two tabs
The Attribute Tab we need to give the name of the Multiprovider on which the query with the virtual char is getting executed.
The Inerface Tab has three following sections. Need to write the ABAP code for all the three.
Define : Defind all the characteristics and virtual char that will be used for populating virtual char
    Initialize : Initialize them
Compute : Here you will have to write the logic for populating the virtual char.
Once the logic is written then you can use this char in your query .
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Arun,
    Try this.
    1, Set one dynamic parameter,
2, Drag and drop that parameter into  your report title.
3, Pass the value(sort value) dynamically from your application,
    4, Cheers..
Other wise Try with Dataset, create a dataset and fill thev alue into that.. Then  set the data source from CR designer. and darg and drop that data column into the report.
