SAP GUI 710 installation with BW 3.5 addon - BW Browser has disappeared
Dear all,
I hope someone can help with a BW 3.50 add-on problem following SAP GUI patching.
I'm doing a local installation of SAP GUI 710 Compilation 3.
I have selected the following three options:
1. SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 (Compilation 3)
2. BW 3.50 Add-On for SAP GUI 7.10
3. Business Explorer
(We require both BW add-ons for version reasons.)
Following this I have applied the SAP GUI Level 13 Patch (gui710_13-10002995.exe).
Up to this point, everything works as expected and I can still see the BW Browser at Start --> Programs --> Business Explorer --> Business Explorer (SAP BW 3.x) --> Browser (SAP BW 3.x)
However, when I apply the BW 3.50 Add-On Level 6 Patch (bw350gui710_6-10004473.exe) the Browser disappears from the menu and I can't locate it anywhere. A reboot wasn't required although I did this anyway with no visible effect.
I did try uninstalling everything and attempted the same process, but with SAP GUI Patch Level 12, and combinations with BW 3.50 Add-On Patch Level 4 but with the same result.
Has anyone else come across this issue, or know what has happened?
Thanks.We have a similar setup, utilizing all 3 as you do.
Since we are currently at Browser patch 4, eventually headed to patch 6, I threw your situation into our VM enviroment and tested the installation of Browser patch 6. Interesting enough, a clean install of Windows XP, Office 2003, and then GUI 7.10 with patch 13 and Browser 3.5 sp4 works as normal. Once I applied SP6 for the Browser, I still have the icon under the Start menu but the wdbbapp.exe is gone.
Thanks to the VM test enviroment, I was able to recreate the scenario in a few moments and this time prior to installing the patch 6 for the Browser, I set it up to catch all the changes the SAP installer makes when applying sp6.
The installation performed the following activity:
13 files added
4 files deleted
141 files updated
363 registry entries added
522 registry entries deleted
129 registry entries updated
Of the 4 files deleted, one of them is the BEx Browser (wdbbapp.exe) - which is why my shortcut won't work
Of the 13 added, none of them are the file being replaced.
Of the 141 modified, none are this file either.
I am still going through the log but have not seen anywhere it will make a difference if the file is not there.
Again, I am not saying there is a problem, perhaps they changed the way it is accessed, I am not fully up on the process of the BEx Browser. SAP may have something mentioned about it on their GUI/BEx site or a note, this is just my preliminary findings.

Bex Patch level for Windows 7 and SAP GUI 710
Hi,
We have the machine with following config:
O.S - Windows 7
SAP GUI - 710
MS Office 2007
When a user logs into Bex Analayzer, clicks on Add-ins he gets an error message in German.
Same kind of problem was encountered with Office 2003, but MS fix 907417 solved the problem.
But i am not able to find any such fix for Office 2007.
Can anyone tell me what should be the patch level of Bex in this case?Hi,
What is the exact error message you are getting?
Thanks

BI Precalculation Server for BI 7.0 (SAP GUI 710)? Not Available?
We recently upgraded from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 SP 15. To support other SAP company initiatives, we also upgraded all SAP GUIs to 710.
Is there no updated BI Precalculation Server for BI 7.0 with SAP GUI 710? Can we use older precalculation software with BI 7.0? Or do we have to wait until SAP publishes the precalc server for GUI 710 (as indicated by note # 1013205)? Anyone know when that might be?I created opened a message with SAP and here is the response I got back:
Dear Customer,
Currently SAP GUI 7.10 is not supported with Precalulation service.
As per Note: 1013205 Pre-Requisite for BI Precalculation service 710
The program is believed to be shipped with the patch 400 of the 7.10

Hi,
I am trying to install SAP GUI 710 on my system which has Windows Vista as the OS. I have downloaded 3 zip files from the SAP Market place. They are
50083078_2.zip
50083078_4.zip
50083078_5.zip.
None of these zip files contain the .exe file which will help me in installing the SAP GUI.
Let me know if there is any other link to download the GUI files.
I do have SAP GUI 470 on my system now.
Thank you in advance.
Shankar.Hi Dieter,
You are right that there are .exe files in that folder. But when I try to execute them, it says that the exe file NWSAPSETUP.exe is not present in its respective folder. And after that the execution stops.
I doubt that there is something else which i need to do, can you please forward me or let me know the steps involved in implimenting the SAP GUI 710.
Thank you in advance.

Difference between IE version 6.0 SP 2 and SP 1 with SAP GUI 710
Hi,
I'm using SAP GUI 710 and Internet Explorer 6.0 with SP 1
When i run a query on portal and i'm able to export the result to excel.
But when i run the same query with IE 6.0 with SP 2 and when i try to export the result to excel and i'm getting this error.
You need to have Microsoft Outlook express installed to work with Single file web pages.Outlook express is an optional component of microsoft ie 4.0 and later.
Please suggest, I'm not sure of my findings on the error regarding ie versions.
Cheers,
Shana
Answers will be awarded with due creditsHello. Can you check the MS Office (directly Word ) are 2007 version? Regards.

Satellite L870-16C -display problems with some games
Hi,
I've bought this laptop recently and it turned out that i have tearing problems with some games.
But really not with all games, just some of them (ex: the witcher, borderlands, trine...).
So i was wondering what the problem could be?
So far, i've heard it could be a v-sync problem, but everything i've done regarding this didn't change a thing.
Is it just a software issue or could it be a hardware problem with the graphic card?
I'm considering sending back my laptop to Toshiba, so i wanted to know if this was the only solution (and if it was a solution indeed).
For information, it's a L870-16C with a ati radeon HD 7670m graphic card (driver version: 12.10-130101a-151427E-ATI), operating on windows 8 64 bit.
Does anyone have some clues?
thanks
Message was edited by: BakappoiWhat game problems do you have exactly?
Could you be more precise?
You said that you have some problems but NOT with all games.
Therefore I dont think that you have an hardware problem
In most cases (any) games issues are related to graphic card drivers in my long gaming experience, all issues which I had in the past were related to compatibility problems between driver and game. -
Hide Command field (where users enter transaction codes in SAP GUI)
In our requirement, the custom SAP transaction will be launched on CRM Web UI through transaction launcher technique (when users clicks a hyperlink on CRM UI)
But business people are asking us to not provide the user to enter transaction codes in command field. They don't want User's see command field when the back-end SAP GUI is displayed on CRM UI through transaction launcher and they don't want the user to navigate to any transaction from the SAP GUI. Please let us know you comments on this. Is this possible, if so please guide me?Hi Madhu,
This is a question for SAP basis.
One work around could be that the the users who would use ITS screens should not have any other AUTH objects for executing other TCODES. And when they try to do so they will get an error message like you do in a normal SAP GUI.
Basis can configure this by running a Auth Trace.
Hope it helps.

Requirement: Open Transaction code in SAP GUI from WD ABAP application
Hello All,
I have a WD ABAP application which is accessed from SAP GUI and Portal. In SAP GUI, there is report which calls the application URL.
In the WD application, I need to call a transaction code. At this juncture, I made use of the ITS url. But,, the SSO does not work in SAP GUI.It works only in portal.
As a solution,we identified the entry point i.e. SAP GUI or portal. Then, based on entry from SAP GUI, we tried to call the transaction code using call transaction statement. But, that replaced the wd application. We instead wanted it as a popup or atleast another session.
Now, how do we open a transaction from WD screen in another session?
Also, can we setany configurations in the system to make sure the SSO works for all the transactions i.e. ITS used in SAP GUI.?
Thank you.
Regards,
SharathHi,
This question gets asked many times.
Depending on the circumstances, this can be achieved with varying degree of success
So here is some code that might help you.
This can (does) load a Windows GUI.
Some things to consider.
1. Browser settings can get in the way a bit, asking the user if they want to open a ".sap" file
2. The user may have a SAP session open so consider adding a "/o" to the system code.
3. The Custom variable might want to contain a [Options] section for "Re-use"
4. The SAPLogon_ID may be required if using SSO (SNC)
I have modified the code below, but you will get the idea.
JS
* Create the shortcut contents
call function 'SWN_CREATE_SHORTCUT'
exporting
i_system_command = lv_com
i_saplogon_id = lv_logon_id
i_sysid = sy-sysid
i_client = sy-mandt
i_user = sy-uname
i_custom = lv_custom
importing
shortcut_string = lv_string
exceptions
inconsistent_parameters = 1
others = 2.
* Convert to xstring to execute....
call method cl_http_utility=>if_http_utility~encode_utf8
exporting
unencoded = lv_string
receiving
encoded = lv_xstring
exceptions
others = 1.
* Now call to open the shortcut.
lv_file_name = 'mytrans.sap'.
lv_mime = 'application/x-sapshortcut'.
call method cl_wd_runtime_services=>attach_file_to_response
exporting
i_filename = lv_file_name
i_content = lv_xstring
i_mime_type = lv_mime
i_in_new_window = abap_true. -
Some posts on the forum have text or code included in small windows with sliders at the side and bottom. See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/471158?tstart=0 for instance.
On my screen the window is not large enough to view the code, and there seems to be no method of expanding it. Is this a bug or a problem that only I have?
I'm using IE8 on a very large monitor in full screen mode at around 1600 x 1024 pixels.This is what I get, which is very similar to the display shown on the post two up from this one.
There is no way that the text in the box can be read, and for the record, my text size is set to medium, and the display is set to 96dpi.
Since making this last post, I checked out the page in Forefox 3.09 as shown below:
This displays correctly, so I reckon that it is an IE8 problem

Problem regarding Duplicate Material Codes in SAP
Dear Xperts,
In our manufacturing plant,we are not using Split Valuation for same materials procured either from the domestic or from the imported Vendor.Even they are not using the same for the materials received through free of cost or through proper payment process.They are using two material codes and for this data redundancy occurred.Now they want to club the same into one material code but do not want to use Split Valuation till now.
They want the following:
1. For domestic Vendor they will follow Purchae Order.
2. For international Vendor they will follow Schedule Agreement.
3. They want only Delivery Schedule to be generated through MRP.No Purchase Requisition will be generated.
But how to proceed.Is it possible?
Plz advice.
Regards,
SoumickHI,
But is it possible to generate only Delivery Schedules thru MRP?Means not to generate PR if we use both PO and SA for same material but for different Vendors?
PR not generated for scheduling agreement only schedule line will generated as per define schedule in scheduling agreement
ME31L = to Create SA document type LA or LPA
Me32L = to change SA
ME38 = to maintain delivery schedule
assign scheduling agreement in source list ME01 and select indicator 2 MRP relevant and in material master in purchasing view select JIT indicator
MIGO = to enter GR against SA
MIRO = to enter IR against SA
check following link
[MRP To Generate SCHEDULE LINES for Scheduling Agreement;

Visual c++ runtime library buffer overrun during sap gui 710
Hello,
I would like to install SAPGUI for windows 710 to my Windows XP workstation SP2. I have already installed 6.20 GUI with patch level 61.
The installation kit 50083078_4 was downloaded from the SapNet\swdc portal.
I got the following error message after I started SapGuiSetup.exe from the NW_2004s_Presentation\PRES1\GUI\WINDOWS\WIN32 directory:
MS Visual C++ runtime library buffer overrun detected.
porgam is ..\PRES1\GUI\WINDOWS\WIN32\setup\nwsapsetup.exe
The buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the prg's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must be terminated.
The Microsft .Net Framework 2.0 has been installed on my computer. The following security updates for Microsft .Net Framework 2.0 has also been installed: KB922770, KB917283.
Microsft .Net Framework 2.0 language pach HU has been also installed.
Can somebody give me advice?
Best regards,
Ilona Boros

Hi, Expert.
I need to add some ABAP Code into SAP Query (or Infoset) to support the double click event on ALV cell of result of query.
Is it possible & How to do ?

Nattapash C.Hi, Gautham.
I've put BREAK-POINT in all code section e.g. INITIALIZATION, END-OF-SELECTION..
I found there are some section for add code that will be executed when query is processing before output data to ALV.
What I need to know is Where I can input the code after ALV output. For support the Double Click Event on Query's ALV cell.
Best Regard,
