Display Text Field data in SmartView

We have a planning form that accepts input of a text field for a "project name". When I query via SmartView (ad-hoc) it shows a numeric value instead of the field (project name). We have tried creating FR reports to show this information but our reports keep shutting down the services because of performance issues. Does anyone know in which Oracle repository tables does this information get stored (i.e., the Numeric Id value that matches the String value)?

We have faced exactly the same FR problem number of times in different projects. You haven't mentioned your version number. If it's 9.3 series, there is no solution to your Financial Reporting problem unfortunately. For 11.1.1.1+ though there is one solution. Assuming that you are using Planning details connection, click on top left corner of the grid, on the right hand side, where the properties of grid is listed, you must see a little box about suppression (or hiding) missing planning blocks. Enable this and try again. this will keep only already populated fields in your report, which I'm sure is fine.
As for your smartview problem, as Rinku suggested essbase connection doesn't bring the text files as these are separately stored in repository. However, you have limited ad-hoc capabilities in System 11 Planning. Look for the key word "smart slice" in the admin guide.

You have to use READ_TEXT fun Module to fetch the Long text data by passing the correct paramters like OBJECT,ID,OBJECTNAME and LANGuage fields

READ_TEXT provides a text for the application program in the specified work areas.
The function module reads the desired text from the text file, the text memory, or the archive. You must fully specify the text using OBJECT, NAME, ID, and LANGUAGE. An internal work area can hold only one text; therefore, generic specifications are not allowed with these options.
After successful reading, the system places header information and text lines into the work areas specified with HEADER and LINES.
If a reference text is used, SAPscript automatically processes the reference chain and provides the text lines found in the text at the end of the chain. If an error occurs, the system leaves the function module and triggers the exception REFERENCE_CHECK.

Possible errors:
The field contains only blanks.
The field contains the invalid characters * or ,.
OBJECT
The parameter OBJECT contains the name of a text object that does not exist in table TTXOB.
NOT_FOUND
The system did not find the specified text module.
REFERENCE_CHECK
The text module to be read has no text lines of its own but refers to the lines of another text module. This reference chain can include several levels. For the current text, the chain is interrupted, that is, one of the text modules referred to in the chain no longer exists.
WRONG_ACCESS_ TO_ARCHIVE
The exception WRONG_ACCESS_TO_ARCHIVE is triggered if an archive is accessed using an incorrect or non-existing archive handle or an incorrect mode (that is, read if the archive is open for writing or vice versa).

Text field data in the Interactive adobe form to long text

Hi Expert,
I have a text field(allow multiple line) in the interactive adobe form which has been binded to table type(char132) field of the context element.
Now I want the save text field data as a long text using SAVE_TEXT.
When I enter some value in the text field and trigger SUBMIT event then it is going to dump.
I am unable to trace out what is wrong, since control is not reaching to INIT method of the view.

G/L Account line item display-text column data missing-t-code faglb03

Dear friends,
MY client requirement like below,
In the GR/IR Clg account no.xxxxxxxxx. the bill no was displayed in the text column. Hence we can compare the debit entry wrt to the credit entry so that the left out credit entries can be traced and booked. The vendor code was displayed against the invoice no.before upgradation.
But now After upgradation this facility is not available.text column data not fletching, If the text [i.e invoice no. } is not available how can we identify which vendor bill was not posted or booked. Which was in this ledger before upgradation.

Double click on on Accumulated field then it will display you the line item
Text column is displaying at line item
kindly check the Layout if still it does not showing there
then add this field in below Tcode then it will display
Tcode: OBVU
Table : Bseg
Field name : SGTXT
and save it

It is not possible in ALV .. As per OSS note 857823
Below is the reason for same.. I think you should to split in number of columns.

Quick qn on displaying text fields from region.

My doubt is that i have a page where
there are 2 Regions..top and bottom Regions
we can enter a person's details on the bottom region and hit submit..then that person get stored in the database and visible on the top region
i have a situation where i need to grab these people from the top region and display in side email message
my text field in the bottom region is not constant..so i am not able to capture them..
Its like this:
TOP REGION:

babu lee Male address 1
Note: Sometimes there may be only one person..sometimes more than 1 like 2 or 3
Bottom Region:
text fields to enter (we can enter for only one at a time)

You can select the entire field and use the cold fusion left
function. However, it would be more efficient to simply select
select the 1st 20 characters in your query. How you do this depends
on the db you are using.

Display text fields based on value

I have a form that has 7 text fields that are to be filled out. I have an ajax process that auto-populates those 7 fields with values based off of the return value of a pop-up dynamic LOV. Is there any way that I can hide the last 5 fields based on a certain value of one of the text fields?
For example, my fields are:
P1_Badge (LOV query)
P1_First_Name
P1_Last_Name
P1_Title
P1_Phone
P1_Room_No
P1_Email
P1_Fax
The LOV returns a Badge number and populates the rest of the values. But if the Last_Name = 'Smith' then I only want to display Badge, First_Name, and Last_Name and I want to hide the rest of the fields or make them disabled for editing.
Is this possible without any kind of page submit?

Nope.
First, I had trouble figuring how to apply the Form Calc to the Button, as opposed to the Button List.
I actually had to edit the first line in the Script Editor, which seems pretty lame.
That is to say, I just don't see how to get to the radio button, not the Object named RadioButtonList
BUT, I can't UNCHECK the field once it's been checked. That is, if I click "on" the Radio Button, it won't revert to unchecked if I try to click it "off".
In other words, if the person unchecks the Radio button due to some error, I need it to click off and the TextFiled to go back to being hidden.
Like I said, this can't be that hard, or maybe I'm just missing what you're trying to explain. Any other ideas?

That looks like it should work, but it doesn't.
I opened the PDF I had created from Word in Acrobat (X Pro). Went to File > Properties. Selected "Change Settings". I then enabled "Restrict editing...", set a password, set "Printing Allowed" to "none", "Changes Allowed" to "none", and ensured that "Enable copying of text..." was disabled.
I saved the PDF file, closed Acrobat, opened the PDF in Reader, and I was still able to select text and graphical objects.
I reopened the PDF in Acrobat, and the document summart still shows everything as allowed. When I click on "show details" (from File > Properties) it shows the correct settings.
Any ideas?

Help with repeating text field data on subsequent pages

I am very new to adobe live cycle designer. I developed a form and I would like some of the text fields on page 1 to fill automatically with the same information on pages 2 and 3 so the user does not have to be filling out the same information over and over.(The information on the other pages is going to be the same as the one on page 1.
Is there a way to do this? THANKS!

Possible to automatically select text field data on enter

I have been trolling this forum for a couple weeks and have figured out everything on my form except this issue.
I would like my form to automatically select the "data" that is in a text or numeric field when the field is entered.
For example: If I open a form that has been filled out previously I would like each field's data to be selected when I enter the field either by tab or clicking on the field. This way I can overwrite the current data much easier without having to double click to "select all" or backspace to delete the current field. It is possible that the data should stay the same so I dont want the data to be deleted on enter just "selected"

Hi Joe, When using the keyboard and tabbing to a field all the fields contents are selected, but this doesn't happen when using the mouse and clicking into a field.
