Displaying a line on a Bar Graph

Hello Friends,
I have developed a Bar Graph using the FM 'GRAPH_MATRIX_3D'.
Now, I need draw/display line in that Graph as a cummulatove value.
Is this possible to show a Line in a Bar Graph?
If so, could anyone please guide me how to proceed further.
Please let me know any possible scenarios to show a Line in a Bar Graph.
Thanks in advance!!!
Best Regards,
Prasad

I want to display the above data in line stacked bar graph format where the
#Enrolled will be in Stacked Bar by Study -Site ( Y axis)
Planned Subject should represent a single line at 50 ( Y axis)
Group by Year and Month ( X- Axis)
Study excluded ( Study will be selected from dashboard prompt)
I'm getting the stacked view of Study Site ID correctly but I want Single Line for Planned Subject .
Currently I'm getting multiple line .
Eg for 2001/03 I'm getting line at 50 in yellow colour
for 2001/04 I'm getting a line at 150 in different color since it has 3 Study-Site ID's But the desired output is Single Line at 50
As per 11g doc this is not possible because there is some upgradation in the nature of the graph
" Stacked line-bar graphs in which 2 or more measures are shown as lines on the same axis and are not stacked in 10g are stacked in 11g."
    Refer - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/bi.1111/e16452/apndx_ui_chngs.htm
Is there any workaround for it ?

Did you found any workaround for it ? I am too looking for same scenerio.

  • How to create drilldown bar graph using clicklistener

    Hi,
I have a view object that sums some data and tags each sum accordingly - eg sum salary grouped by department name.
I display this using a horizontal bar graph.
I want to now be able to click on a bar and then have the details displayed in a table. I am led to believe from chapter 24 of the manual it is possible to do using no java coding (ie not having to create a bean etc).
You can use the row selection listener of a graph (which serves as a master view) to enable clicks on a bar, slice, or other graph data element to update the data in another ADF component (which serves as a detail view). For example, a click on a bar that represents sales for a given product in a graph might cause the display of the detailed sales data related to the product in a pivot table.
The following requirements must be met to achieve this master-detail processing declaratively:
    1. You must use the same tree data control to provide data for both views as follows:
    1. Bind the graph as a row set to one level in the data control.
    HOW ?
    2. Bind the other ADF view (such as a table or pivot table) to a lower level in the tree data control.
    I don't have a nested iterator - is it saying to use a master-detail scenario like dept/emp ?
    2.
Set a value for the clickListener attribute of the graph tag in the Behavior page of the Property Inspector and use the processClick method that is already part of the graph binding.
For example, if the value attribute of the graph tag is value="#{bindings.myGraph.graphModel}", then the clickListener attribute should be clickListener="#{bindings.myGraph.graphModel.processClick}".
    3. Ensure that the partialTriggers attribute on the parent tag for the detail component is set correctly. It should be set to the ID of the graph component.
You do not have to write Java code for handling clicks on data elements in the graph. The processClick event on the graph binding recognizes click events on data component in a graph and performs the necessary processing.
Are they suggesting all you need to do is ensure you have proper master-detail tables set up and it will automatically work ?
    cheers

    Hi Frank,
thanks for replying. I opened a TAR about this as I cannot produce a drilldown table. I created a VO with my summary - eg
    select decode(manager_id, 100, 'fred',
    123, 'bill', 120, 'kate', 121, 'julia', 147, 'ken', 108, 'james', 148, 'liz',
    149, 'phil', 205, 'jack', 102, 'eric', 'dominic') manager_name, sum(salary) as salaries
    from employees
    GROUP BY
    decode(manager_id, 100, 'fred',
    123, 'bill', 120, 'kate', 121, 'julia', 147, 'ken', 108, 'james', 148, 'liz',
    149, 'phil', 205, 'jack', 102, 'eric', 'dominic')
Then I created a detail view object (from HR.employees) and added a calculated column :
    SELECT Employees.EMPLOYEE_ID,
    Employees.FIRST_NAME,
    Employees.LAST_NAME,
    Employees.EMAIL,
    Employees.PHONE_NUMBER,
    Employees.HIRE_DATE,
    Employees.JOB_ID,
    Employees.SALARY,
    Employees.COMMISSION_PCT,
    Employees.MANAGER_ID,
    Employees.DEPARTMENT_ID,
    decode(manager_id, 100, 'fred',
    123, 'bill', 120, 'kate', 121, 'julia', 147, 'ken', 108, 'james', 148, 'liz',
    149, 'phil', 205, 'jack', 102, 'eric', 'dominic') AS manager_name
    FROM EMPLOYEES Employees
I create a new viewlink which links on manager_name. When I run the bc4j appmodule I can see the correct master-detail relationship. IF I drag a master-detail table onto the page it works fine.
Now if I create a graph using the master and then create a table using the detail I can't get it to use this relationship even after setting the processClick() and the id for the graph set on the partial trigger of the table. Any ideas ?
    cheers

  • Hierarchial Bar Graph

    Hi,
I have Bar graph it contains period hierarchy, amount columns.
If i click on year bar/stick it splitting into months. So far every thing is good.
But user want to display year information in title of bar graph. That means user what change title dynamically by clicking
    bar in bar graph.
Can we achieve this.Kindly let me know.

    Im sorry if not clear.
I believable following information every clear
Example: Take bar graph which contains two columns
    1.Period hierarchy( vertical axis)
    2.Amount(Horizontal axis)
1.Initial run, Bar graph show grand total level.
2.If i click grand total level in graph it drilling down to years like 2011,2012,2013
3.If i click year bar of 2012 drilling down to months like Jan,Feb......
Requirement is:User want to display year in title of bar graph.
Ex: if user click 2012 year bar in bar graph then title as show like xyz of 2012
similarly, if user click 2011 year bar in bar graph then title as show like xyz of 2011.
How to do it this.kindlz let me know.

  • How to create static line in line bar graph in obiee 11g?

    Hello,
I have requirement where user wants to see a line in bar graph.
Now the line is just static line, we dont have data field available to draw the line in graph.
is there a way to create a static line in chart and show it in Line bar ombo graph??
    Thanks in advance..

e.g. i created the static line '10' in fx and now using this column as line in line bar report , but its not displaying the line at measure of '10' in chart.
Drag the column to measures section of graph (Line - Vertical Axis) to change this static value create an edit box prompt and pass the value to the column using Presentation Variable (as said by Fernando)
    Thanks,

  • OBIEE 11g - Line-Bar Graph problem

    Hi,
I am trying to build a Line-Bar graph where the line represents target. My data is as follows:
    Dim1 Dim2 Fact Target
    A Z 10 2
    A Y 5 2
    B X 6 3
    B W 7 3
Please note that, the target is same across same Dim1. Like A has same target, B has same target.
Now if I create a stack chart with stack based on Dim2 (Dim2 is in the Vary by Colour), then I get mutiple line for target with the same value for each Dim1.
I am not sure if I could explain it clearly.
I want to show one line for the target since its same for Dim1. How can I do that?
    Please help.
My chart config is as follows:
    Group By (Dim1)
    Vary Coulor by (Dim2)
    Bars (Fact)
    Lines (Target)

Not yet, and I've been too busy with some SEV 1 issues to goof around with it. I also need to open a ticket about default pivot table formatting - i.e. removing the background colors under the non-data areas, and they also seem to have some sort of gradient fill at the bottom. I'll let you know if I hear anything.
    Thx,
    Scott

  • Displaying current and previous 5 Year data in a bar graph

    Hi ,
My requirement goes like this .....
I have to show revenue (measure) data based on current year (period dimension) selection (from a dashboard prompt) and previous 5 year data's as well .
i.e. if user selects 2013 , the bar graph will display 6 bars ... 2013,2012,2011,2010,2009,2008.
I am trying to achive this with filter on Year column , on the main report ....*"is based on results of another analysis"*
But haven't made any progress .
    Thanks

  • Stacked Bar Graph with a line plotting count

    Hi everyone
I am facing a problem with plotting a stacked bar graph with a line or dot for count.
    I have 2 y axes and one x-axes.
Can anyone help out with suggestions as to how to do this in 9i Reports.
    Thanks
    Neelima

The graph wizard in Reports 9i allows you to create a dual Y combination graph - is this not sufficient for your needs, or am I missing something?

  • Use view objects to display muti lines graph

I need to create multiple lines on a line graph using data from view objects. I did see the demo that allows to add series but the data seems from tabular data.
    http://jdevadf.oracle.com/adf-richclient-demo/faces/feature/index.jspx?_afrLoop=39644483771460039#%2Ffeature%2Fgraph%2Fanimation.jspx%40
    Using Jdev 11.1.1.3
I understand that each line is a series. I was able to show multiple lines but for supporting data while in reality need to show for different data such as for the stock market lines for Dow, nasdaq, S&P. I used order_lines tables and placed creation_date as x_axis and for lines/y-axis used three columns (product_value, product_id, linesCount)
Might need to create some complex view or is there a way bind multiple views or view objects can't be used for this case?
    Thanks

Thanks Shay. What I did was on the right track and is similar what you suggested.
I was somewhat trying to validate what I did to display multi lines i.e. by placing in the Line field during graph configuration the attributes for each of lines/series.
If need to display sale total for 5 departments over a year. The view object will have attributes as: sale_date, dept1_sale, dept2_sale, dept3_sale, dept4_sale, dept5_sale
Then can chart it with sale_date as x-axis and ALL 5 dept sales on line/y-axis.
By this had the correct structure and was able to generate the 5 lines correctly.
    Thanks

  • Combine a Bar Graph with a Line Graph!

Is it possible to combine a Bar Graph with a Line Graph because occasionally we wish to use both bars and lines on the same plot.
If yes, could you please give us a sample rtf file?
    Thanks,
    -Ritu

    Hi Tim,
To be more clear, I need to superimpose the two graphs.
For example, the first one shows the budget for each month along with the actual expenditures as a bar graph. The other shows the cumulative budget, forecast and costs for the entire project as a series of lines. The first graph uses the scale on the left side of the graph and the second graph uses the scale on the right side.
    Thanks,
    -Ritu

    Achie,
This is not an issue with the graph as such, but the data issue. Since the value of the data that is being displayed is huge and other datas are relatively very small to occupy the graph area (Ex : 60105 Vs 10).
You may want to try implementing zoomListener and/or zoomScrollListener for the graph to zoom and see the small datas.

  • CM29 - bar graph not display in WebGui while is it visible in GUI

    Hi,
We are trying to see and work on CM29 through SAP GUI for HTML. After making required settings it not pulling up BAR Graph into WebGui and saying error message "Unknown Error:RFC". We have checked on IGS RFC settings and all are working fine but still we are recieving error message.
    1. Can the bar graphs can be seen on WebGui?
    Regards,
    Amol

    Hi Amol,
    This is a limitation
The IGS does not support the Bar chart
See note: [1299016|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1299016] Network and bar chart cannot be used in SAP GUI for
    HTML
This note does not provide this functionality - but provides a different
message other than "ListenerRfc : Unknown function"
You cannot display this graphic via the WEBGUI, you will need to use the
SAPGUI if you wish to use transaction "CM29" to view the chart

  • Hao to display two lines in one Graph

Hi, I want to display two lines in one graph in different color , what should I do? Thanks.

    Hello Carlos,
the help window for a waveform graph/chart only mentions "single plot
with waveform datatype". To get more plots on one graph you have to
build an 2D-array  of  points. Just look at the help window!

  • cfchart Can I overlay a none-stacked cfchartseries type="line" over a stacked bar graph?

Creating the stacked bar graph works well... but I'd like to overlay some non-stacked line-type chartseries over the bars.  I don't appear to be able to do this as the lines just stack on top of one another.
Any ideas if you can mix stacked bars with non-stacked lines? (CF8)
    Thanks

The graph wizard in Reports 9i allows you to create a dual Y combination graph - is this not sufficient for your needs, or am I missing something?

  • Data display on Bar graphs - Needs help

    Hi,
I am facing a problem with discoverer's bar graphs.
There is a 2D Bar Graph, which is required to display the respective strength for all the classes on the axis(e.g regionwise sales for North, West, East, South). In Oracle discoverer the sales is shown only when the mouse is pointed over the respective bar but that too at the bottom. The fixed values of the sales is not being displayed above each bar permanently.
But the client requirement is to display the strength for each class above each bar numerically so that a print out can be taken along with values.
Please suggest how can this be done.
    Goga

On the Plot Area tab, check the "Show Data Labels for bars". To the right of that, clicking the "Options" button will let you place the labels above or in the bars.
Also, check that the graph background color is not the same as the font color.
