hi:
i've a table that hase a column that carries the link to the directory where my word documents are stored, iwant to display thsi column as a hyperlink that when user clicks it will open the word file,but when i add href tags around the column value it displays nothing.
this what i do

Are you using ADF Faces for the user interface?
If you are then you can use a goLink component and then bind the text and destination items to your data.

How to list printers on the client machine to print the documents in ADF

Hi,
I have a requirement to print multiple documents stored on the server. I am trying to find out how to list the printers or get a default printer on the client machine and print the documents using ADF.

Crocodoc HTML5 document viewer:Upload and then display document

Dear all,
Did anyone try to upload and then display documents using HTML5 technology. Also recently i came across SAP is using Crocodoc,"an HTML5 documents to display their presentations". I welcome all of your thoughts and suggestions.

I have the same need as vudean. I don't understand the security issue. If I type a document using Pages or whatever, why can't I upload the document to a web site? I think Apple should make the standard web "file upload control" available to iPad users.
I understand that there should be some limitations, but it should be possible to upload standard user files. I can upload them to Dropbox, so I don't se the big difference.
Does Apple read this? If not, where can I propose this feature to them?

Display data on ADF table using a VO binded to a message.properties file

I want to display data in a JSPX page using ADF table which is based on a ViewObject. The attributes of the ViewObject should get it's value from a abc.properties file(static file).How can i achieve this.

When you create a VO based on static values, all of the records from your VO are generated into the MessageBundel.properties file like this

You could add more lines to the properties files maintaining the same pattern. Also noticed that you can read all the values from a CSV file as well.
The last resource is to programmatically read the file and start creating new rows on the VO, which won't use any of the declarative tools for VOs.

Flash File not Able to Display using ADF Trinidad components..

Hi All,
I am trying to display a flash file using ADF trinidad component for one our project but not able to display when embeded inside the code.
However I am able to directly access the flash file using http://localhost:7101/test/pages/test.swf
The below Object code is included inside the tr:panelHorizontalLayout tag. I also tried using tr:media but doesnt display anything on the browser.

MIGO- DISPLAY GR - ATTACH PDF DOCUMENTS USING DMS.

Dear SAP Experts,
We have requirement of attaching the PDF document to material document using DMS. So that in future if we see the GR in MIGO, we can view that PDF. Also we don't want deletion of this PDF once attached to material document.
We found that in DMS attachement facility to material document is not available. In Purchase order screen ME22N we can see the DMS document button, but in MIGO this DMS attchment Icon is not there. Service for object facility is available but we don't want this facility.
Please suggest how to achieve this.

Use archivelink for attaching documents to MIGO . The documents attached to MIGO can be displayed by opening the respective Material documents.
As far as deletion is concerned you can make use of the authorization objects in Archivelink to achieve this.

Displaying Master-Data using ADF DI

Hi
I'm trying to display a master data(as a form) and a detail data(as a table) in excel sheet using ADF DI.
The process I followed is as below.
1. This is on HR schema. I created a departmentsVO, and dragged Departments from the data control to the top half of a jspx page as a form, and Employees datacontrol that is wihtin the Departments datacontrol into the lower half of the page.
2. I ran the page, and the master-detail is perfect i.e., when i click navigate the departments form, corresponding employees of that department are coming in a table in the lower half.
But the problem is when i used this pagedef file to use in an excel file.
1. Alll form elements are available in the excel as individual components. Table is available as a tree component.
2. I binded all the form elements in the excel, also bound prev and next buttons, all at the top section of the excel file.
3. Binded the table component in the bottom of the excel file.
3. Defined table download action and Worksheet downsync action as worksheet properties. Workbook prop are also defined properly.
When I ran the page,
Form elements and table is prefilled, navigation of form is also working fine. But when I navigate through the form, the corresponding employees are not changing, they are all employees of the first department id.
My requirement is to change the employee table as the department form is being navigated.
Can someone pls give some suggestions. What i think I may be missing is that the table is not getting refreshed as I navigate the form(But I already associated the table download action to the worksheet properties).

Found a solution. This might be helpful to others...so m posting it :-)
While binding the 'Next' button, I added 'Download' component action of the table to the actionset of the button(which already has UpSycn, Next, DownSync).
So, on click on the button, it actually downloads the latest data to the table. And master - details were shown just perfectly :-)

Where did the links list go???

Are you sure the art is linked and not pasted? Can you select it, right click and choose edit original? If you can and the links panel is empty you probably need to trash the prefs: Replace Your Preferences

Displaying BLOB image by using ADF Faces

I digged the forum but couldn't find any satisfied answer about displaying BLOB images by using ADF Faces.
I have insterted POJO object to Oracle database but couldn't find any way to display blob (in java byte [] ) data in POJO.
I have read the POJO object from database which contains two field; one of them is id field and other is BLOB data which holds GIF or JPG image and I want to display this image another page which contains also other fields / records ...

1. Make the img tag url refer to a servlet (instead of a static image file)
2. Embed the image into the tag as inline base64 encoded data.
2a. Use an <Object> tag with inline data.
1. Looks a bit complex for a simple problem.
2 and 2a don't work with some browsers.
- And I've not yet figured out how to hook into the ADF Faces table-rendering logic to get it to add my image column. My table binds to a collection DataControl, [which in turn retrieves from a findAllItems call on a session facade, which uses my domain model, and wraps up access to a TopLink pesistence layer]. The framework just ignores my byte[] attribute when creating the jsf table from the DataControl. All string, int etc. attributes get represented correctly in the jsf table output.

We are using adf in our application. We have to disaply blob image from oracle data base on the adf jspx page.This jspx page consists of 2 jsff files.
I have created an httpservlet and called on the source parameter of image this httpservlet with binding similar as below:
source="/httpServletName?id=#{bindings}}"
I am able to display the image.
But my concern is that I am using iterator for displaying images as there can be multiple records in the table but for every recoed I am getting same image. Please suggest how can I display multiple images coming with respect to various records of data base.

After attempting the solution given above also I am getting the same issue.
On the jspx page I want to show Imageid, imagedescription and photo .
I have 4 records coming from database on the jspx page. I have found that all the data (imageid, description) is first displayed on the jspx and then control gets transferred on the ImageServlet only once and in request.getParameterMap() I get only one "ID" value i.e. the ID value of last record (4th record) coming from data base and hence in all the 4 records on jspx I am getting the same image (i.e. the image in the 4th record of db). Please help me to proceed on this issue.
On jspx, I have given image source value as :
<af:image shortDesc="image"
id="image1"
source="/imageservlet?id=#{bindings.Id.inputValue}}"/>

Gnome-documents 3.16 not displaying document when using shell search

Hi. Upgrading gnome-documents to 3.16.0-1 broke the functionality of displaying documents straight from the shell search. File format doesn't matter (no pdfs or google documents are displayed), only "sad face" icon is shown instead. However, in present mode everything works and also thumbnails of pages are displayed in the page selector (bottom of the screen). Starting gnome-documents first and selecting a document from the main screen works as expected.
I haven't found anything related to this when googling, am I only one experiencing this? Looking at the journal didn't help me, neither removing indexes and caches. I downgraded gnome-documents back to 3.14.2-1 and now it is working normally.

I can confirm this. So far mostly noticed this with pdf.

Uploading Blobs using ADF 10.12 & 10.13

Has anyone either,
a) written an application using ADF using 10.12 or 10.13 that allows you to upload a file (e.g. JPG/Word Document) and store it in a database as a BLOB
b) come across any tutorials/examples of this functionality?
I have previously written applications that successfully retrieve and display JPG/GIFs that are stored as BLOBS in a database but I have never written the functionality to store them.
I'd appreciate your thoughts/suggestions on this matter, thanks in advance

I wonder if you can accomplish to view back images which you have stored as blob in database via ADF 10.1.3. , eh!?
I have uploaded image and stored as BLOB but couldn't find any way to display it in a page which is full of other records from database such as a student record with student image!?
any idea?
