Displaying iView properties
Hi,
I created a JSP that contains a link to a portal iView that should be open in a new window.
The problem is that new window appears with all the framework page.
Is there a way to avoid this ?
Thanks.
Regards.
Hi David,
meanwhil I found out how to display iViews without portal masthead, navigation panel, etc. Use the following URL:
http://<server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/<PCD_PATH>
Replace <PCD PATH> with the pcd path of the iView. But be aware that you have to replace the chars ":" (with !3a) and "/" (with !2f).
In the end it should look like this
http://<server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fmyfolder1!2fmyFolder2!2fMyiView
Best regards,
Martin

Cannot find Display State Iview Properties
Dear all,
While trying to create home page, I look IView properties and find a great setting Display State.
The problem is I cannot find this parameter in my URL IView properties.
I use EP 6 SP13.
Thanks for help.Hi Beata,
first let us clarify some wording:
A <i>PAR</i> is a <i>Portal ARchive</i>. It is a zip in a certain format. It contains a <i>portal application</i>.
A <i>portal application</i> consists of <i>components</i> and/or <i>services</i>.
An <i>iView</i> is somehow an "instance" of a <i>component</i>. It is created within the portal. There are <i>no iViews in a PAR</i> (like: "There are no objects in a JAR (but classes).").
With this in mind, the question is if there really exist an iView with the name you are looking for.
What you see under Portal Runtime Tools is the application with it's components. Anyhow, the default properties of an iView or the properties of a component if called without packaged within an iView are the ones defined within portalapp.xml of the corresponding application.
But if you change values in there, the changes are somewhat "global", so you should be sure if the component in question is called via an iView or just "as the component".
The location of the portalapp.xml is under \usr\sap\<...>\JC<...>\j2ee\cluster\server<...>\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\<appName>\portalapp.xml
Hope it helps

UWL iView Properties...
Hi all,
I'm Using EP7.0 and SP16.I copied the UWL iView from this location (content provided by Sap --> End User Content --> Standard Portal User --> iViews --> com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.iviews --> Universal Worklist).
Changed the iView Properties:
Display UWL Overview Page = Yes
Initial state of Navigation Panel = close
That iView works fine.. It displays the Overview look and feel and also hide the Detailed navigation part..
My Problem is
when i click the link (Tasks, Notification, Alerts and Tracking) in the Oveview page, it opens the corresponding Tab look and feel and open the Detailed Navigation part.. i want to close the Detailed Navigation part of the Tab iView also..
what can i do? how to achieve this? please help me..
Regards
Thillai JHi All,
Solution:
Goto this location
Portal content > Portal User> Standard Portal User > Universal Worklist> Task
Open the Task iView and close the Initial State of Navigation Panel. Its automatically close the Naviagtion Panel when we click the links in the UWL overview iView.

Displaying different properties?
I have an iview which displays different users, and in the displayed properties for the Collection Render I have the following:
rnd:icon,rnd:displayname(contentLink)
This displays an icon and the username (with a link!).
What I want to do is display other properties e.g. Phone number, job description etc. Does anyone know the properties that need to be used or a list where I can find which ones can be used?
Thanks in advance!Hi Phil,
see http://service.sap.com/nw-howtoguides --> Portal, KM and Collaboration --> KM --> Extending User Details
With this, you'll see how to use the UME repository and how to map UME properties as KM properties (like: ume:department, ume:company etc).
Hope it helps

Object ID and Object ID Version fields in Displaying Object Properties - XI
Hi,
In displaying Object Properties in XI we can see different fields like Type, Description, SCV, Object ID, Object ID Version, Status, Person Responsible, Changed On, Changed By, Display Language, Original Language.
But when i refer to the SAP Library documentation for these fields, Object ID and Object ID Version are not included. Here is the link for the documentation
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/f0/fc9a3de2ec0753e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/f0/fc9a3de2ec0753e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
With that said, i have no information on those two fields, only assumptions i've made that i would like to verify in this forum with the questions below
1.
Please correct me if i'm wrong, the Object ID is the unique identifier for the object and the Object ID Version is directly connected with the versioning concept for IR and ID, so the Object ID is generated when you create the object (e.g. MM) and the Object ID Version changes every time that object is edited and change list activated for it. Is this correct?
Or does the Object ID change every time the object is edited and change list activated for it?
What is the behavior of these two fields when transported? e.g. dev to qa... are they both retained on the target IB's? (specifically for ID objects because the change list needs to be activated first on the target ID)
2.
Does any one know where the Object ID and Object ID Version gets stored? (saved on a table in the ABAP stack or saved somewhere in the Java stack? e.g. can be viewed in Visual Admin or a URL) I am thinking of extracting all the XI objects with their corresponding Object ID and Object ID Version (per system) in one step. I know this is possible only if the Object ID & Object ID Version are stored in an ABAP table...
Kindly give me some inputs.
Please answer directly with the questions above. I will reward points for it.
Thanks in advance.HI,
>Please correct me if i'm wrong, the Object ID is the unique identifier for the object and the Object ID Version is directly connected with the versioning concept for IR and ID, so the Object ID is generated when you create the object (e.g. MM) and the Object ID Version changes every time that object is edited and change list activated for it. Is this correct?
The Object Id is created the first time you create the object.
Object Version Id is created the first time you save/activate a object.
Now suppose if you modify the object a new Object Version Id will be created but the Object ID will remain the same.
For IR Objects the Object Id & Object Version ID will remain the same across systems.
For ID Objects the Object Id & Object Version ID is not the same across systems.
Not sure about the table. Can you try in SE11 and check all tables with SXMS*. Could be also that tables might not be available from GUI i.e you might have to login to DB to find out.

Display/Edit Properties in a Table
Hello everyone,
i'm currently writing a javafx2 app for my bachelor thesis.
in that app, i need a table like view to display the properties in.
but, a normal TableView doesn't do what i want:
a TableView expects a new object for each Row, and displays the columns (aka properties) sideways
but i need them displayed downwards.
my first attempt was a normal tableview, but i didn't manage to display them the way i wanted
my 2nd attempt, was a combination of a splitpane and 2 ListViews, which in fact worked, regarding the way properties/their names were displayed.
but: i didn't manage to make the ListCells editable...
i'll post a short code, containing an example class that i want to display, and the code of my 2nd attempt.
would be great if you could guide me to either a solution with the TableView, as i'd preferr that solution, or hint me how to make ListCells in a ListView editable.
public class MyClass
private String name;
private String type;
private Double creationTime;
public MyClass(MyObject object)
this.name = object.getName();
this.type = object.getType();
this.creationTime = object.getCreationTime();
public String getName()
return this.name;
public void setName(String newName)
this.name = newName;
public String getType()
return this.type;
public void setType(String newType)
this.type = newType;
public Double getCreationTime()
return this.creationTime;
public void setCreationTime(Double newCreationTime)
this.CreationTime = newCreationTime;
}that's the class of the object whose properties i want to displayed/edited
public class MyListView extends SplitPane {
ListView propertyNamesListView;
ListView propertyValuesListView;
private MyObject object;
private ObservableList<String> propertyName;
private ObservableList<String> propertyValue;
static class EditableListCell extends ListCell<String>{
public EditableListCell() {
super();
this.setEditable(true);
@Override
public void updateItem(String item, boolean empty)
super.updateItem(item, empty);
setText(item);
setEditable(true);
public MyListView()
propertyNamesListView = new ListView();
propertyValuesListView = new ListView();
propertyValuesListView.setEditable(true);
propertyValuesListView.setCellFactory(new Callback<ListView<String>, ListCell<String>>() {
@Override public ListCell<String> call(ListView<String> list) {
return new EditableListCell();
propertyValuesListView.getFocusModel().focusedIndexProperty().addListener(new ChangeListener() {
@Override
public void changed(ObservableValue observable, Object oldValue, Object newValue) {
if(newValue instanceof Integer)
propertyValuesListView.edit((Integer)newValue);
this.getItems().addAll(propertyNamesListView, propertyValuesListView);
public void setObject(MyObject object)
this.object = object();
propertyValue = FXCollections.observableArrayList();
propertyValue.add(object.getName());
propertyValue.add(object.getType());
propertyValuesListView.setItems(propertyValue);
propertyName = FXCollections.observableArrayList("Name", "Type");
propertyNamesListView.setItems(propertyName);
}that's my take on the combined ListViews, but i can't edit the fields :(
i really hope that you can help me, looking forward for your responses :-)Thank you Carsten,
I had the wrong Item.
I used "display as text (saves state)"....

Our portal have installed with CRM Business Package (based on CRM 5.0).

Windows 7 doesn't display pdf properties
Windows 7 doesn't display pdf properties/metadata, like title, comments, author, subject etc. This was a great feature in XP. Anybody know a workaround?
On this site is explained how to display the pdf properties in windows 7 explorer.
http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7files/thread/203b60ca-b773-4931-85ad-a5 e67656d6ce
steps:
open the file explorer in windows7
select libraries from the left navigation bar
right click on the libraries heading.
select "new" > "library"
give the library a name e.g. "sales orders".
press the button "include new folder" to select the folder where the pdf files are in. e.g. "D:\files\sales\orders\"
select (top-right) "arange by" and select e.g. "name".
you should now be able to see the pdf properties (don't forget to enable the subject etc. collums)
See picture..
Good luck!! -
I am writing a custom SSIS source that uses a standard SSIS Flat File Connection Manager. I have got a working UI that shows all usable connection managers in a dropdown list and allows the user to pick one. I would like to be able to have a button that
the user can click on to create a new connection manager, and it would open the properties window for the new connection manager so it can be set up.
Abridged code:
Public Class MyNewSourceUI
Implements IDtsComponentUI
Private MetaData As IDTSComponentMetaData100
Public Function Edit(ByVal parentWindow As IWin32Window, _
ByVal variables As Variables, _
ByVal connections As Connections) As Boolean _
Implements Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Pipeline.Design.IDtsComponentUI.Edit
Dim UIwin As New MyNewSourcePropertiesWindow(MetaData, connections)
Return (UIwin.ShowDialog() = DialogResult.OK)
End Function
Public Sub Initialize(ByVal dtsComponentMetadata As IDTSComponentMetaData100, _
ByVal serviceProvider As System.IServiceProvider) _
Implements Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Pipeline.Design.IDtsComponentUI.Initialize
MetaData = dtsComponentMetadata
End Sub
End Class
Public Class MyNewSourcePropertiesWindow
Inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form
Private _metadata As IDTSComponentMetaData100
Private _cnxions As Connections
Public Sub New(ByVal ComponentMetaData As IDTSComponentMetaData100, ByVal connections As Connections)
InitializeComponent()
_metadata = ComponentMetaData
_cnxions = connections
ShowConnections()
'Setup Existing Metadata '
End Sub
Private Sub ShowConnections()
Me.cboConnection.Items.Clear()
Me.cboConnection.Items.AddRange((
From i As ConnectionManager In _cnxions _
Where CType(i.Properties("CreationName").GetValue(i), String) = "FLATFILE" _
AndAlso CType(i.Properties("Format").GetValue(i), String) = "Delimited" _
Select i.Name).ToArray())
End Sub
Private Sub btnNewConnection_Click(ByVal sender as Object, ByVal e as System.EventArgs) Handles btnNewConnection.Click
Dim newconn As ConnectionManager = _cnxions.Add("FLATFILE")
ShowConnections()
Me.cboConnection.SelectedItem = newconn.Name
End Sub
Private Sub btnCancel_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnCancel.Click
Me.DialogResult = DialogResult.Cancel
Me.Close()
End Sub
Private Sub btnOK_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnOK.Click
'Store any metadata changes '
Me.DialogResult = DialogResult.OK
Me.Close()
End Sub
End Class
That's what I've got so far. I had assumed that adding a new connection would automatically display the properties window to the user (right?). However, in my tests, what actually happens is that it creates the new source with a random GUID for a name and no
other properties set up, and puts it in the connections pane, and that's it. Not real useful.
Obviously, something else is required to make the properties window appear, but I can't find what it is. There's no ShowUI() member on any of the classes I have, and I haven't been able to find out the name of the UI class that's used by the flat file source.
Does anyone know how this is done? I know it can be done, because such a button exists in the normal Flat File Source UI.Yes, you need to drive the UI creation. I see you create a custom connection manager, in this case on how to build its UI please refer to http://kzhendev.wordpress.com/2013/08/07/part-2-adding-a-custom-ui-to-the-connection-manager/

Get IView Properties and portal details Programatically
Hello Experts,
I have created one WDA application and deployed the same on portal. I need to access iView properties of the iView programatically.
Is there any class in WD which will gives me iView properties like, PCD location, application parameter etc. Also please give me the class name which gives portal details as well on which iView is running.
Thanks,
PrashantHi,
For portal integration we use IF_WD_PORTAL_INTEGRATION, but this interface doesnot provide those details.
When you run the WDA application from portal, there are some portal person can fill those applciation parameters like Iview name PCD path etc...so that you can read them in WDA application like any other portal parameter.
Can you search as IF_WD_PORTAL* and CL_WDR_PORTAL* it may help..

Displaying Predefined properties in a Search iView
Hi,
I have created a Search iView with a Show Options link. Now, when the user clicks on Show Options, I need a "Industry" property to appear with check boxes next to it. I have created the Search Component Set and Options Set. In the Search Options set, I have checked "Enable Predefined Properties" and in "Predefined Properties", I have specified "Industry". I did create the "Industry" property and have checked "Multi-Valued" and for "Allowed Values", I have specified Banking, Retail. However, when I click on "Show Options", I see "Industry" and a text box next to it. Is there something else which needs to be done? Can anyone please point me in the right direction? Thanks for all your valuable time and effort.
Sincerely,
SriHi Sri,
what's the type of your property?
What's your Release?
How does your property appear in 'Details -> Properties'?

Page preview displaying iViews incorrectly
I am just learning Portal and have run into an issue that I'm sure folks out here can help me with.
I created two iViews from the SAP iView transaction template. Both transactions are custom transactions, pointing to custom Z-programs reports. I have added these iViews to a page, assigned the standard side-by-side layout, and changed the iView Height properties to be Automatic.
The problem is, when I preview the page, the Tray Headers correctly display the title assigned to the transaction, but the selection screen displayed in each iView tray is the same. Whatever iView displays first, the second iView seems to use this same data for its display.
It seems to be an issue related to caching, but as I am new to Portal I am not sure where to look to solve this problem.
Thanks in advance, and any help would be appreciated.
TerriHi Terri,
If you think that the issue is with regards to cache, then have a look at this document for more information

I have built BW system and created an alias, I am now trying to develop a BSP iview.
I put in some fields based on the BSP, and it connects to BW successfully and I log in but it does not display the query....
I get the following in a browser screen:
Action cancelled
Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested. The page might be temporarily unavailable.
So that said, for the BSP iview there are some parameters that I may not be filling out correctly...
The BSP query works successfully by itself viw the Bex Query and it displays the report in the browser:
http://tora01.telleride.com:50000/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=EN&bsplanguage=EN&CMD=LDOC&INFOCUBE=ZMAT&QUERY=ZDB_MAT_VOL003&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=1
What values should I put in for these BSP properties and are they necessary to be populated:
Application namespace:
Application Parameters
Business Server Page (BSP) Application
(should this be the FQD plus query?)
Customer namespace:
Start page:
Thanks
John RyanHi John,
Are you trying to create a BSP iview or BW query iview.
From your explanation, it looks to me that you need a BW query iview.
Create a BW query iview, populate the query string parameter with this (CMD=LDOC&INFOCUBE=ZMAT&QUERY=ZDB_MAT_VOL003&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=1
) value it should work fine.
