I have a requirement,such that i want to display a report 3 char in first 3 columns then 5 keyfigures and again 3 characteristics.Is it possible to display report? If yes, how its possible please give me the steps.

2. The Reports RDF files will be deployed in Report server tier, i.e the place you
have installed your Business Inteligence componentes of 9iAS.
3. In 9 iAS, Report servlet/JSP can be run inside oc4j container. Report cgi can be
run the default http server present in 9iAS. Refer the 9iAS rel-2 manulas for more information

i want to download my alv report into excel sheet...........for tht i used UGI_DOWNLOAD........here if i use the file type as 'ASC' all the leading zeros of numeric values are removed and date format is "yyyy/mm/dd".......
i need the leading zeros and date format in "dd/mmyyy"
when i use file type 'DBF' i get the leading zeros but my date is replaced by '#####.............wht shld i do...........To get the leading zeros to come, append an apostrophe to the start of each field that has the leading zeros as shown

note that
1. This sometimes doesnt show correctly in excel and you may have to double click on the cell to prevent the apostrophe from displaying in the sheet

Requirement to display records on different sheets on Excel

We have requirement for a custom report where in the Purchase Order and Requisition records are to be displayed on a separate sheet of the Excel file (PO records on sheet1 and Requisition record on sheet2)
Please let me know if anyone has done similar customization. And also if this is possible using XML Publisher.

How to Export the BI Beans report to Excel sheet?

I have a requirement of exporting the report generated by using BI Beans to Excel sheet (*.xls NOT *.csv)
Is this possible directly using any feature of BI Beans?
If not can I get the java resultset object along with meta data like column header and row header, which I can use to write the report to Excel sheet using third party excel writers like JExcel?
Please provide the code excerpts for getting the resultset.

Currently we only support export to csv file. The code below might help you traverse a crosstab. It is from a demo system, when a user clicks on a data cell it finds where the user clicks and updates a linked graph. So this code gets a query and traverses a particular dimension. It should hopefully point you in the correct direction.

IF you want to see the accumulated balances you need to select the period from 0 to 12.
EX: you want to open the report up to period 6th 2009 and want see the figures including the carryforward balances from 2008.
then in selection screen select the from period = 0 and to period =6.

I try to use run_report_object to generate report in Forms.

I checked cache <o-h>\reports\cache, the report is there. But nothing is show on screen.
Do I HAVE TO use web.show_document('url') to display report in cache?
If yes, what url I should use? If no (hope so), what I should do to bring the report to browser?

Dear Users....I Dont want to display "Report Successfully Run" applet after my report runs successfully. I'm calling report from Forms-10g Rel.2 and my browser is Internet Explorer ver.6. I'm sending my report directly to printer using Web.Show_Document.If my report is sent to printer successfully there is no need to display browser window with the above mentioned message. Problem in exporting ALV Report to excel sheet
Hi All,
I have developed a Report and now facing problem in exporting the same to excel sheet.
When we click the "Locate File" icon in the report layout, the system will pop up a window with radio buttons. I have opted for 'Spreadsheet'.
When i save the excel sheet into my desktop, the excel file has all the report headers (Title of each column). But no value is exported.
There are around 15 columns in the report and the excel sheet shows value of last 2 columns which has some text.
I have been into ALV report development and developed around 30+ reports in the same fashion.
What might be the reason behind this issue?
When i export other reports into excel sheet, everything is perfect without any flaws......

Here's my suggestion: Install OpenOffice.org and ask SAP to deliver good integration with OpenOffice.org.
Alternative suggestion: re-install SAP Gui on the PC where the integration is not working. If that does not help, re-install Microsoft Office as well.
Here's my comment: I think you should ask this question in a different forum, e.g. in the Duet forum. That may not be the correct forum either, but as it is a Microsoft/SAP integration technology forum, someone there may know the solution.

Display report in PDF w/o save
Hi,
I want to display Report on xmii browser without saving , I tried PDF action but it is giving error when calling url "File doesn't begin with %PDF-". When using image saver for saving file it saved on given path successfully.
I also used isBinary=true in url paremeter, which I found in forum for one of the reason of this error but still it didn't work.
Steps I am following for test case:
1. Create PDF document action block
2. Create PDF page action block - link to pdf document
3. Craete PDF text action block with some value - link to pdf document
4. Assign output parameter of PDF document action to BLS transaction output of type string.
5. call url:
http://servername/Lighthammer/Runner?Transaction=TestBLS/TestPDF&OutputParameter=Output&isBinary=true&Content-type=application/pdf
Please advise if I am missing something, I am using xMII 11.5.

AlokMuzammil - Indeed Runner works with 11.5 too and its the Key to trigger a BLS trx via URL.
You can use Illuminator to execute Query templates so on via URL.
Alok - Your URL looks good but still if you are getting same error "%PDF" then check whether you are providing exact Output parameter you have mapped in BLS trx.

Run a consistency check for your ALV and you will find out. See if you havent passed any unnecessary parameter to FM.
