Distinguish IM / WM materials

Hi ,
Is there any way to identify whether a material is warehouse managed or not by validating against a single table field only. Is there any flag availabe for this. One way i can think of is to read the material maintenance status in MARA (MARA-PSTAT).
This would tell me if the WM views are maintained or not. Is there any other way to do that.
Thanks and regards ,
Hitanshu

Hi Hitanshu
  MARA-PSTAT is a good way to find the same, but the problem is the value for warehouse views will be populated only when the material is actually extended for the same.
  So best solution would be to check by Material Type and PSTAT of table T134.

  • MI31 - Phy Inv. - how to exclude Variant Config Materials

    For our Variant Cofiguration Materials (parent materials) we don't have stock to count for the physical inventory (MI31).   The company would like to exclude these items from the material selection automatically.
    I've looked around in the IMG  for material master and in physical inventory but I didn't find anything that looked like a "exclude from Phys Inv." indicator or anything that could be used on one of these materials.
    The site could "exclude" the individual material #'s in the selection screen of the MI31 transaction and save a variant or something...but it would have to always be monitored when new materials were created, etc.   Company would like to know if there is a configuration setting of some kind that can exclude a Variant Material from the phys inventory run.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jason

    what is wrong with ACC TO STOCK settings?
    Does it exclude to much? more than you expect?
    Unfortunatly you have not done anything in your design to distinguish Variant Config Materials from standard materials.
    Same material type mean probably the same number range as well.
    I have other ways to select, but it depends on the number of materials that are in this material  type.
    How many do you have in that material type, how many do you want to exclude.
    How often will you count?

  • Dynamic Calculation of SLED for Outbound Delivery

    All,
    I have a situation to pick batches at the time of outbound delivery using batch determination. We have a situation where we have some materials which are expiration date managed and some which are not.
    I have set up the batch search strategy with batch status LOBM_ZUSTD (batch is set to released). in the selection criteria
    For Dynamic selection of SLED date i have maintained the selection criteria as LOBM_VFDAT, LOBM-RLZ>0 d. No changes made to the object dependency.
    The Batch Class for Finished goods has LOBM_VFDAT, and no LOBM_RLZ and LOBM_LFDAT.
    In OVM1 i have set the message VL 415 as an error . ' Invalid batch according to batch determination'
    When i am doing a picking of batches for the outbound delivery the strategy analysis gives the SLED > Del. date + Min rem. shelf life e.g Del. date is 4/30 and Min Rem Shelf Life is >0 d.
    When i pick a restricted batch it gives me the correct error message.
    When i pick a batch with unrestricted batch status and an expired batch it gives me an error message.
    When i try to pick a batch which is unrestricted batch with no SLED date it gives me an error message. What is the method to allow picking of batches with no SLED date .
    Thanks for your help with this.

    If you can distinguish between the materials with and w/o shelf life management through a field which is available in the field set of the condition tables (e.g material group, product hierarchy), you could use that field for your condition table and define two condition records in VCH1 - one with selection criteria and one without.
    (you can also consider adding such field to the field cataloge [and then to the condition table], if you have a clear and sensible rule [pls note that adding a field to the field cataloge requires also development to populate the field of the communication structure with value during the program run]).
    It is also possible to influence the batch determination, e.g. via user exit EXIT_SAPLV01F_002 (e.g. you can replace the search procedure [KALSM] for materials w/o SLED and determine different strategy).

  • SD New Scenario- customer free supplied material

    Hi Experts,
    my client requirement is : Customer raise the sales order for one product, for that product customer is going to supply one specific spare part to co. with free of cost.
    co. will use that part in making of finished product. So in this case what are the possibilities to deliver the finished product.
    how to map from sales order to Invoice.
    please help me to map the scenario.
    Regards
    Madhu

    Hi,
    I faced a smilar scenario some while back but the solution was not based in SD. It was based in MM and PP.
    My solution is different from the previous one because if I understood correctly, the customer sends products to you. You don't send anything to the customer. If I am right, then you cannot use subcontrating process.
    This was how we solved it:
    -> Material Type - you need a material type non valuated to map this product. You can use a standard one but I would use a Z one so that I am free to adapt it in the future. Please use a separate number range so that you can distinguish easiliy the materials from the customer from your own materials.
    -> You will map the deliver of your customer materials through a purchase order where your vendor is your customer. You need a new Account Assignment Category that is not relevant for billing. That is, one where pricing is not relevant and where the system does not expect to receive an invoice for it.
    -> you need to set up the BOM's so that your customer material is used in production of your finished product. As the material type is non valuated there will not be any costs regarding this product when you produce it.
    -> you sell your finished product to the customer with a normal sales order (OR). Probably because one of the components belong to your customer, the price will be lower.
    Hope it helps. Regards,

  • Doubt with Customer pricing group

    Hi ,
              I have  maintained a customer pricing group in customer master. say x is my customer so i maintained  c.p.g as A1(regular cust).  so when ever mr x place an order he gets some discount  which i am maitaining in condition type k020 . so now i create a new material in the same sales area but i dont want to  give Mr x any kind of discount.. not ever k020 disc..  how do i do this ..  becoz by default this cus belongs to group A1.
    Any solution ??

    Hi jagadisha14,
                  Well, in your case if you don't want to determine in all cases the condition type K020 when your c.p.g is A1 you should create a condition table for that condition type K020 with an additional field to distinguish for which materials you want the discount, this field can be the material pricing group or the material number or other, it should be a field with different value between these material, because the same result as now will be get.
    Example:
    Material XX             YY
    MPG       B1             B2
    So if you have a condition record for K020
    CPG                A1
    MPG                B1
    The condition K020 will be only determine for material XX.
    On other hand I don't think condition exclusion works in this case because it has other functionality.
    Thanks,
    Mariano.

  • Prevent Hourly Employees from Ordering Non-stocked Materials and Creating Purchase Reqs in Work Order

    Our SAP plant maintenance system is configured to create a purchase req when a non-stocked material is ordered. We would like to prevent hourly employees from creating a purchase req or ordering non-stocked materials. Only supervisors should be able to order non-stocked materials and create a purchase req. Is there a way to do this via config or system enhancement?

    Hello Rick,
    Clearly there will be 2 ways if not more. One is the Authorization object route and another is Enhancement route. I'm not going to touch the former one. So let's expect answers from other members for that. For the later one, we need to know the answer for the question below:
    'Can we distinguish the hourly employees from regular employees by the user-Id or some other means? If yes, how ?'
    Once we know this, we need to use some user-exit or enhancement spot of the program SAPLCOIH to capture the event of 'N' in the ItemCategory field of Components tab by such UserIds and trigger an error message.  (Suitable user-exit is not striking my mind, so this might go the implicit enhancement way of Order program SAPLCOIH ).

  • DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NON-STOCK AND NON-VALUATED MATERIALS

    HI ALL,
    I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NON-STOCK AND NON-VALUATED MATERIALS. WHY THESE TYPE OF MATERIALS ARE COMING UNDER COST CENTER AND WHEN CREATING PO FOR THIS TYPE PARTICULAR MATERIALS WHY WE ARE NOT MAINTAINING PRICE, MEANS WHY WE ARE DEFINING THE PRICE FOR THIS PARTICULAR MATERIALS?

    Hi,
    Hi,
    non-valuated material (Material Type UNBW):
    This type of material is managed on a quantity basis, but not on a value basis. This makes sense for materials of low value, stocks of which nevertheless have to be monitored (for example, operating manuals).
    Non-stock material (NLAG) (Material Type NLAG):
    Inventory management is not possible for these materials either on a quantity or value basis. For frequently required consumables, the use of this material type nevertheless enables you to store the information required to create
    purchasing documents (such as texts and units of measure).
    When a material is procured directly for consumption, no material master record is necessary. In connection with consumable materials, you can distinguish between the following cases:
    • Consumable material without material master record
    • Consumable material with material master record that is not subject to
    inventory management (on either a quantity or value basis)
    • Consumable material with material master record that is subject to inventory management on a quantity, but not a value, basis

  • How can I distinguish different action mapping in one ActionClass file?

    I would like to create a ActionClass which will handle 3 mapping which comes from /add, /show or /del.
    My question is how can I change the code so that the ActionClass servlet can distinguish the request from different url mapping ? Can anyone give me some short hints? Thx.
    struts-config.xml
    <action-mappings>
    <action name="MemberInfoForm" path="/add" scope="request" type="com.myapp.real.MemberAction">
    <action name="MemberInfoForm" path="/show" scope="request" type="com.myapp.real.MemberAction">
    <action name="MemberInfoForm" path="/del" scope="request" type="com.myapp.real.MemberAction">

    public class MemberAction extends org.apache.struts.action.Action {
        private final static String SUCCESS = "success";
        public ActionForward execute(ActionMapping mapping, ActionForm  form,
                HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
                throws Exception {
            return mapping.findForward(SUCCESS);

    http://struts.apache.org/1.2.x/api/org/apache/struts/actions/DispatchAction.html
    Thank you so much for all of your suggestion.
    I read the document of MappingDispatchAction and its note say:
    NOTE - Unlike DispatchAction, mapping characteristics may differ between the various handlers, so you can combine actions in the same class that, for example, differ in their use of forms or validation.........
    I wonder in DispatchAction, we can also have various forms or validation as MappingDispatchAction does, just by using different name in the action tag, for example:
    <action input="/p1.jsp" name="MForm1" path="/member" scope="session" parameter="action" type="com.myapp.real.MemberAction">
    <action input="/p2.jsp" name="MForm2" path="/member" scope="session" parameter="action" type="com.myapp.real.MemberAction">
    <action input="/p3.jsp" name="MForm3" path="/member" scope="session" parameter="action" type="com.myapp.real.MemberAction">Hence, it is not the difference as stated from the NOTE, right?

  • Intrastat - Inbound/Outbound of non valuated materials used in production.

    Hello everyone,
    I've found several threads and very useful posts (ex: Re: PO Creation of free goods for intrastat reporting)  regarding similar issue, but the solution proposed was manual input, therefore not answering totally to my client requirement.
    I am actually performing maintenance activities and there is this new business process, I have been searching for the correct understandind of this process regarding intrastat here and I haven't found.
    So i will describe the process hoping that someone can give me some hint:
    Vendor A
    Customer B
    Raw Material R
    Finish Product P
    Service S
    1. So we ( Vendor A ) receive raw material from our Customer B (+mov.type +)
    2. We ( Vendor A ) with a production order process the Raw material R into Finish Product P.
    3. We ( vendor A ) send the Finish Product P back to the Customer B.
    4. We ( Vendor A ) then issue an invoice for the Service S to the Customer B.
    5. It can occur that we Vendor A, can send back the Raw material R which was not manufactured back to Customer B (with a mov type.)
    So thiswas the scenario and how the process is beeing done, and the client understanding is:
    - As far as i understood, (please correct me if i am wrong) the Raw Material R must be declared (Quantity and statistic value) in Purchasing Intrastat, in the transactions where the Vendor A receives the raw material and as well in the case that they send it back to Customer B.
    - Regarding the Invoice from the Vendor A to Customer B, the Raw Material R is incorporated in the Finish Product P, therefore I've been told that, the Statistic Value determined in the invoice in this situation has to include the cost value of the raw materials R.
    My issues in MM are the following:
    1 - If Raw Material R is non valuated, how can i maintain its statistic value to be declared, in inbound as well outbound? as an Info-record?
    My issues in SD are the following:
    1 - If the Statistic Value GRWR can be for example 102% calculated over the net value, and if the cost value of Raw Materials R are to be included, so i would have to add them somehow to the statistic value.
    In this case the question comes up, where do i maintain the value of the raw materials R, and how to add it to the statistic value automatically ?
    Regarding what is implemented in this client, they have SD intrastat running, but not MM intrastat was implemented.
    Feedback would be highly appreciated!!
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Sergio,
    I have this exact same requirement but on a bigger scale.
    The complexities are:
    1. The raw material which client use, that can be either supplied by customer or can be procured by client. Remember, customer's raw material and my externally procured raw material is exactly same in all properties.
    2. There are many customers who send same exact raw material.
    Requirements:
    1. Client wants to use same material codes (for raw materials and even for finished products) for normal production cycle and for Job work cycle. Master data needs to be the same, and data need to be separated at transaction level.
    2. Whatever raw material client gets from customer, its statistical value should be entered at the time of goods receipt.
    Please suggest if preference processing can handle this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vishal

  • Finding of materials in scheduling agreement with more than 150 lines

    Dear Experts,
    we are in need to find materials in scheduling agreement with more than 150 lines. In standard SAP, materials can be searched only based on item Nos. is there a way we can search by material in ME38. also we noticed that find icon is greyed out in ME38.
    Please suggest.
    One more request is, to create an uplaod program for maintaining delivery schedules for multiple SAs.
    please sugegst if this is feasible.

    Raghavendra MS

    I am also curious if anyone has found a solution to this problem.
    We routinely have scheduling agreements that are hundreds of line items. Users find it difficult to find the line item they wish to work with. It would be helpful if we could search by material number or sort the line items by material.
    As Raghavendra mentioned (ctrl+F) functionality is not available in ME33L or ME38.
    Thanks.
