Distortion in some ringtones??

Some, not all but some of the ringtones play back distorted on the iphone 3g, but sound perfect on the computer...Does anyone know specifically why? Do they converted on transfer? I know pictures"get optimized". Is this the same on sync for ringtones, because they sound fine in itunes...

Perfect Timing, the Apple ringtone for me is distorted on my phone. I think the song is over modulated or perhaps it's "artistic". In any case I think it is isolated to a few songs.

If you bought them on your iPad then you will need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy them over to the Tones part of your computer's iTunes library and you can then sync them to your iPhone - ringtones are a one-time only download, so you won't be able to redownload them directly on your phone.

Yes, the file extension is M4R. Does it matter where I save these files on my Macbook? I then opened them in Itunes and played them. I did find the Tones folder in Itunes but the Tones or Ringtones tab does not show up when I select Iphone (within Itunes). When I open the Tones folder in the Library, it is empty. File sharing appears at the bottom of the device's apps tab i.e. the tab that you use to select which apps to sync to the device. Connect the iPhone to your computer, select it on the left-hand side of iTunes, and scroll to the bottom of the Apps tab on the right-hand side.

Encore DVD 2.0 - problems with video - distortion in some parts

Hi there
I use Canopus Edius software for video editting and Canopus ProCoder for creating of mpeg2 (m2p) files. When I import these files to Encore DVD 2.0 and preview them from timeline the video is distorted in some parts(small squares appears on the screen but then video continue again (always between two clips). Interesting is that if I add transition on these place and create mpeg file and import it to Encore again then it is played correctly).
Same m2p file which does not work correctly in DVD Encore 2.0 work fine in DVD Encore 1.5!!!!
Pls give me some advice how to fix it. Thank you in advance.

No audio in headphone and some have distortion and some audioes are very slow.

when i play some audioes or videos there is some distortion and some audioes are very very slow . the notebook speaker is working fine but all this happen only in headphone, i check other headphone but same problem. but when i play hd vedio its audio working fine. but my skype and yahoo voice is very very slow can not hear. i reinstall audio driver from the hp website but same problem. i also check the volume system.

Some Ringtones Distorted After Upgrading to IOS 5

Has anyone else noticed that some of the ringtones sound distorted after upgrading to IOS 5? For example, Sherwood Forest is one of those ringtones. Please let me know if you have experience the same and what workaround, if any, has worked for you?

Not sure if this will help... I had problems playing almost everything and it behaved very erratically... Here was the solution that worked for me:

Okay, mine now works here is what I did.
plug in the iPhone, iPad etc
in iTunes select the phone or iPad
Under Summary uncheck "Sync with this....."
Under "Music" uncheck the "Sync Music"
Sync
Let it remove all the songs, dont worry it will come back no problems.
Once that is all done all the music on the phone or ipad should be gone.
Now check them both back on, sync, and everything should copy back onto it.
Working now !!!!!

Audio distortion on some t.v.'s and not on others. Why? and how do I fix it

I'm working on a music DVD for a local band. ( so the audio needs to be perfect) I edited in Final Cut Pro 5 and burnt the DVD using DVD studio pro 4. These is no point in final cut where the audio meters peak out at 0. I watched the final product on one television set and everything looks and sounds great. I then watched the DVD on a different television and the audio is distorting at and bass heavy point or slightly louder point. I was just wondering what is the best way to fix this problem. Should I just lower the overall volume in Final cut or should I try using compressor?

Audio editing (volumes etc) are best handled outside of Compressor, using Pro Tools, Final Cut etc and any tweaks to fix those are best out there.
That being said I have some tv/players that do have a tendency to behave a bit off on audio similar to how you described, one of my LCDs gives me fits...

Menu Background Images - distorted for some reason...??

posted this problem a while ago, thought i had discovered a fix, but haven't had time to work on it in a few weeks. i have a high quality .tif image file 720x576 in size to use for my background image on a menu, but when it is placed in, the diagonal lines become jagged as if DVDSP was stretching the image in some way. i have tried a number of different dimensions (going by what i found in the help files) and nothing seems to work. the 720x576 .tif seems to be the closest so far...
any ideas why this is happening? the aspect ratio is set to 16:9 anamorphic and the image is the exact size of the canvas, so i don't understand why it is distorting.

Glad you got it sorted...
But that actually makes no sense based on the information you gave.
If you are creating PAL menus then you can either use the latest versions of Photoshop which use Pixel ration Compensation (or something like that) to show you in Photoshop what a 16x9 menu would look like at 1024x576 when the actual file is really 720x576. If it's a 4x3 menu it will appear as 768x576 when it's actually 720x576
The other alternative is to create your menu at 1024x576 (as you said you had it as 16x9) then save out the menu from Photoshop as a 720x576 file and bring it into DVD-SP and flag it as 16x9 - which is what you said you had done...
So I am intrigued how you have now fixed it... when you started with a 720x576 file

Why some ringtones show up in my Ringtone setting but not show up in Text Tone and all other Sounds setting?

i have 28 ringtones in my iTune library. in my iphone Sound and Vibration Patterns, 28 ringtones show up in Ringtone options.However in all other options, only some of 28 ringtones show up in the setting option. How can I have every ringtones in my iTune library availalbe for Text Tone?

Quicktime playback distortion on some mp4 files

I am having a problem playing some mp4 files through Quicktime. When the video is played in Quicktime (or Pro Presenter 4), portions of the video turn into distorted white blocks that move with the video. It doesn't continue throughout the whole video, but I can't discern when or why it only affects certain portions. It does it every time at those places in the video. I downloaded VLC, and the same exact file plays perfectly fine in VLC and on other computers through various programs. I have only seen this problem on this computer.
Is this a codec issue? How do I fix it?
The files in question are mp4 files using h.264 video and AAC audio at 1920x1080 resolution. I can play other mp4s using h.264 and AAC without any problems.
I have only had this problem with one of the companies that we periodically hire to produce videos for us. I'm guessing that it has something to do with the way he encoded the video, but I have no idea what the problem is. It's probably not his fault if it only distorts on this one computer.

One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode).
Hopefully you still have AppleCare on it.
