Distribute RM Templates based on groups of users or OU

Hi,
We're distributing templates to the users. However, since there are a lot of templates, is it possible to distribute them based on department, OU, or any other way, so users can see only templates they need.

It is possible! First, you should know that there are several ways of RMS templates distribution: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/3911.how-to-deploy-ad-rms-policy-templates.aspx
Now, do not enable the default RMS scheduled task, and use GPOs/scripts to copy .xml files (which are ADRMS templates of your choice) to %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\DRM\Templates for selected users/groups/OUs.
If your clients are using ADRMS client 2.x then all templates are downloaded automatically (even if you didn't enable scheduled task) BUT you can force AD RMS Client 2.x to use templates of your choice and do not download any other templates. Please
find"How can I manage template distribution for the AD RMS Client 2.x?" section in this article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj159267(v=ws.10).aspx. Also notice, that templates path would be different (%localappdata%\Microsoft\MSIPC\UnmanagedTemplates)
for this ADRMS client.

In OIM 11gR1, we have created custom templates based on Provision and Modify Provision Resource. For templates based on Modify Provision Resource, Oracle says that it should show all existing groups/responsibilities of the beneficiary during request creation. However, it shows empty rows during adding of new responsibilities. Has anyone faced this issue and why is this happening.

One possibility is, If your CSS template is common for both BI and Other department Users except LOGO, then create a single CSS template.
In your report, Take a blank cell. Insert image into it.
Now, Create a Alert based on Users and apply that alert(Rule) to above inserted image.

Setting Default Dashboard based on Groups/users in OBIEE 10g

Hi,
I am having a requirement and facing some issues with setting a default dashboard option to the users who ever access the application. Below is the brief description of entire requirement.
The main requirement is to integrate OBIEE into a .net and silver light application. We will be having a 3 links in the .net application , which in turn displays the OBIEE reports and dashboards upon clicking the 3 links.
We are using the concept of Init blocks, session variables and Go URL from an OBIEE standpoint for accomplishing this integration requirement. We have also configured LDAP server in OBIEE.
The issue we are facing is out of the 3 links in .net application, we have one link/icon called dashboard icon which should display bunch of OBIEE dashboard pages in the form of 4 tabs but currently it is showing the My Dashboard home page. For this to achieve to set default dashboard page is to go to My account and change the default dashboard to the desired dashboard and log out and log in back to the application and we will be all set with dashboard pages being displayed upon lcking the dashboard icon but this is manual process for each user as they need to login into the .net application and change the setting s in My Account manually to change the default dashboard setting to the desired one.
How should I make sure, whoever is logging into the Application (every user) should be able to see the default dashboard pages without changing the options manually by going to My Account.
The LDAP server is taking care of the Authentication part of the users as every user record is maintained in Active directory which in turn is part of LDAP server.
To brief high level requirement on single statement is  how to make a default dashboard pages to users based on group in OBIEE. Is there any option in OBIEE, where we can change or set a default dashboard to particular group in OBIEE either in RPD or UI level.
Appreciate your help on this.

User-managed image gallery in template-based html site?

I've created a simple, template-based html/css site for a client and they've asked for a set of sales pages for their vans and cars. The idea is that there'll be an entry page, which has an itemised list (thumbnail pic, title and a couple of sentences), which then links to individual template-based pages on which the full information is listed.
So far I've given the client a copy of Macromedia Contribute. No problems there. However, it would be great to have a relatively simple image gallery which will display up to, say, 10 pix.
The problem is that without a complex back-end CMS, I need to find a user-friendly (ie, not technical) gallery system which I can either embed into the template, or set up so it can be easily added to a page.
Am I being overly optimistic here, or is there an option (ideally free, of course!) which someone can recommend? My ideal is something that could be accessed and updated through Contribute, but if there's a standalone app which can do it once the page has been created in Contribute, that would be fine.

Yes You can create group in users mysites.
Create Host header site collection, then create my site host in that host header site collection.
Then update this URL as shown below in my site settings

In the My Site Host section, type the URL of the My Site host site collection that you created earlier in this task.

Is there a way to create an automated job to add andupdate groups and users for Connect?

Is it possible and does anyone have experience with being able to create an automated load of new groups and users in Adobe Connect. We have an On-premise deploymentwill be setting up the application to be open outside our company to train channel partners. We have a separate database of channel partner contacts, email addresses, passwords, and training groups that they should be in based on their partner company or product knowledge. We would like to be able to create a front end database that would create a group based on the partner company or based on product knowledge. Then we would like to add users to these groups. Any knowledge of whether this is possible and if anyone has done it?

There are also size limitations or rather suggestions for particle size. If I were creating an animated 3D shape using Form or C4D and wanted to use it as a particle I would keep the size of the particle about 1/6 to 1/8 of the comp size. You would create a new comp for your particle, animate it, then nest the particle comp in your main comp, turn off visibility, and then use it as a particle in Particular.

Group Policy - User Rights Assignments not taking effect on workstation`

Novell 5.1 SP7. ZenWorks 3.2 sp3. Windows XP Pro workstations.
In Group Policy, (Computer Configuration/Windows Settings/Security
Settings/Local Policies/User Rights Assignment), I have added Power Users to
the "Load and Unload device drivers" policy. However this setting is not
taking effect on my Windows XP workstations. My DLU policy for users is
configured to have the users members of the "Users" and "Power Users" groups
on the local PC.
Other parts of Group Policy (Computer Policy/Administrative Templates) are
taking effect on the workstation, so I'm wondering if the problem I am
having is related to Security Settings only.

How to default the template based on a responsibility

Hello All,
I am working on 12.1.1 and XML Publisher version 10.1.3.2.1
I have a concurrent program with multiple templates, one each for different language/territory combinations. The layout of each template is different. In the template definition, I have different localized template files for each lang/terr combination
template_en_GB- UK
template_en_IE - Ireland
template_de_DE -Germany
template_sv_SE -Sweden
Template_en -Default
When the user submits the request, for UK, Ireland and Germany it picks the correct template as defined in the territory but for Sweden the template is always defaulted to the default template file in the template definition and the user needs to change it to their desired template each time. How do I default the template based on the language/territory of Sweden combination. It is working fine for all other territories buit not for Sweden. We have not used the add.layout option in any report so I don't want to use that option.
Is any setup I am missing for Sweden?
We are having Sweden rollout soon.

Thanks for the tip on the user role. I had thought about taking that approach, however, leveraging the user role and properties associated with it would be the correct approach if writing custom components. What I am looking for is a way to take existing components, and essentially use them in context of the user.
For example, say if you are trying to give a sub group of users access to a subset of the DAM directory, and you don't particularly wish to hack around the existing WCM DAM component, there is a setting in the tree navigator (/libs/wcm/core/content/damadmin/treeRoot) that lets you specify where the root of the tree is. (There are more settings to work with, but this is just one used to illustrate.)
If you can change the property based upon the user, that gives you the functionality without altering code.
I would like to know if this is possible, if this is an inherently bad practice, if so why, and whether there may be another alternative out there which lets you avoid having to alter the code of an existing component.

Issuance Authorization Based on Group Membership

I have what should be a simple problem but for the life of me I can't get my claims to work like I believe they should. We use BOX with open enrollment and are looking at restricting who can access the site and have an account provisioned for them.
The goal is to use an existing set of groups to restrict access to the BOX site. I've read many posts about creating Issuance Authorization claims and have copied their examples for my use but nothing seems to work.
Our group naming standard for BOX access is "app-box-*" as we have several groups that are all billable to different areas. I want to use "app-box'*" in the language so I don't have to add 50 different rules for each group.
Claims that are being sent to BOX right now are: Email Address, Given name, surname, name, and group. I'm only sending BOX the app-box* groups a user is a member of by using this rule:
c:[Type == "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/claims/Group", Value =~ "^App-Box-.*"] => issue(claim = c);
That seems to work just fine as I see the groups listed in my claim to BOX in my Fiddler trace. Next step is to create the issuance rules and restrict the access. I've tried two different rules so far and both haven't worked. I've also
modified them to just refer to one of the BOX groups specifically instead of the wildcard, but still no dice...

Issuance Authorization rules are executed BEFORE the transform rules so you're looking for a claim that doesn't exist (yet). Create a rule at the top of your authorization rule tab using "add" instead of "issue" then in a following
rule (same tab) issue the permit depending on if the user has that claim.

What we wanna accomplish.
We have few groups but i'll make an example on two.
We have one group that have allowed "Media" and another group that have allowed "Exe".
What is best practice if one user is in both group.
How would you do Content filtering?
I dont see in Content filtering condition
if (Envelope Recipient does not mach group) then Block.
Is the best way to create first?
If (attachment.type="Media") then (insert header="sometext);
and after in Content filter below
if (Envelope Recipient) and (Header does not contain "sometext") then Block.

SSRS - Intellisense for Security (Groups and Users) and email subscriptions

When I add a new user to a SQL Server (In SSMS), I can add an AD Group or user, and SQL server will verify their login name. It will reject if wrong and let me search Active Directory and verify names. In MS Outlook I can start typing an email
address and intellisense will help me complete it.
Is there Intellisense on the Report Server, so when I make a role assignment (giving permissions like Browser to a user) it checks their login or even completes it for me.
Is there Intellisense when I add email address to a subscription?
Was wondering if this is a setting I can turn on, or if it is just not available.
Any workarounds? How do I know I am entering a user correctly, what if I misspell?

According to your description, you want to check the if the e-mail address is valid when creating e-mail subscription. Right?
In Reporting Services, The report server does not validate e-mail addresses or obtain e-mail addresses from an e-mail server. You must know in advance which e-mail addresses you want to use. This is a feature by design. However, if you send a subscription
to an invalid e-mail address, the sender (your service account) will receive an e-mail which tells you the destination e-mail address is invalid.
If you really need to check the validation of the e-mail address before sending the subscription, we suggest you provide Microsoft a feature request at
https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer
so that we may try to expand the product features based on your needs.

perhaps you can use a single layout-rtf and use conditional regions to choose the layout you wish at runtime. If you have different layout-rtfs I would say it depends on the calling application and how you call BI Publisher.

How to make a disclamer for groups of users

I have a client with a specific requeriment:
He need make one specific disclaimer for a group of users (corporative accounts). I know how to make this to all users (configuration of smtp_in and smtp_out process), but I dont know how to make this for some specific users :(.

ACF2 Scripted Host Adapter | Add groups to users

I am exploring options to provision to ACF2. We need to assign ACF2 groups to users and the ACF2 resource (or mainframes) behave different from other resources. Users get assigned into groups rather than groups getting added to the user.
To accommodate this we plan to use the ScriptedHost adapter and write a ResourceAction Update script to actually add the user to the group requested. The side effect to this approach is that we now need to code scripts for all other actions like create, delete, disable, enable etc.. Is this how everybody does it - or is there a better approach? I am thinking around the lines of after actions with an ACF2 adapter...
Also - once you create the scripts as resource actions in the ScriptedHost adapter, do we have control to call them whenever we like - or are they automatically triggered - like the Create resourceaction script is called when a user is assigned the scriptedhost as a resource. So apart from configuring the different script names in the ScriptedHost resource wizard, nothing else needs to be done to make the provisioning work with the ACF2 resource?
And is the order of script execution automatically maintained - like Login action is called first before the Create action and finally the Logoff action.

I think that the samplescreenactions can be used as a template. I'm still not quite sure how to go about creating these actual Adapters. I would was wondering if you had an example of a scripted host adapter you had that you could share with me.
