Group Policy - User Rights Assignments not taking effect on workstation`

Novell 5.1 SP7. ZenWorks 3.2 sp3. Windows XP Pro workstations.
In Group Policy, (Computer Configuration/Windows Settings/Security
Settings/Local Policies/User Rights Assignment), I have added Power Users to
the "Load and Unload device drivers" policy. However this setting is not
taking effect on my Windows XP workstations. My DLU policy for users is
configured to have the users members of the "Users" and "Power Users" groups
on the local PC.
Other parts of Group Policy (Computer Policy/Administrative Templates) are
taking effect on the workstation, so I'm wondering if the problem I am
having is related to Security Settings only.
I enabled Group Policy logging on the Windows XP workstation and include it

I have a AD DS Group Policy being pushed out to all machine on my domain to for privileged domain service account (Deny log on locally & Log on as a service). I also have a couple machines in the domain that have a local service account which also needs
the same rights/restrictions.
We attempted to add the local service account into the AD DS Group Policy. This works but it generates errors on all machines which do not have the local service account on them.
We attempted to set this in the local Group Policy editor on the machines with the local service account but the AD DS Group Policy will overwrite it.
Does anyone know of a solution to merge User Rights Assignments rather than overwrite them?

We attempted to set this in the local Group Policy editor on the machines with the local service account but the AD DS Group Policy will overwrite it.
Does anyone know of a solution to merge User Rights Assignments rather than overwrite them?
The way I got around this is you make another OU for that computer/server.
In the GPO section you want to remove inheritance of policies applied. Then link the policies all but the one that is causing the overwrite. Place the computers in that OU and it will not over write.
If you need other things from that policy then you may make another policy just for that OU that has all you need minus the one that cause issues and want to type in manually. When a PC is placed in that OU and you do a gpupdate /force it will not get the
locked down one and you can change those settings manually. If you move it out of that OU back to the main OU then it will get the policy and overwrite the local. This is what we had to do per our Domain.

Group Policy Pref - Mapped Drives Not Applying to One User

I’m new to this list, so please excuse any etiquette slip ups. 
I have three users at a site. All their machines are running Windows XP Service Pack 3 and have client side extensions installed. I created a group policy to map their default drives using GP User Preferences.
Each of the drives is set to "update".
As an example of the policy created XML is as follows:

The group policy is applied to an OU for that site.
All three users are in the same OU.
All three users are also in the same “xxsitecode Users” group.
2 of the users log into their pc and get the mapped drives with no issue, but one user doesn’t.
There are no other login scripts and the user has no manually mapped drives.
He does have a H drive mapped using the profile field in his AD object as a temp measure. But every 90 mins any other manually mapped drives are removed by the policy.
We don’t use roaming profiles
To trouble shoot I have tried
-    Reinstalling client side extensions
-    Re-joining the pc to the domain
-    Running gpupdate from the command prompt to see if any event logs are generated (none are)
-    Manually mapping the drives to make sure there is network access etc – I can manually map them/he can access them.
-    Creating the user a new account, when he logs in using that account he gets his mapped drives on all PC’s
-    Getting the user to log into a different pc, when he does this he doesn’t get his drives – so it’s not his machine or profile
-    Manually checking the security on the user object in AD against one of the users who gets their drives mapped
I'm sure the GP is fine because it works for two other users and the testing isolates his user account as the issue.
The Policy I’m having issues with is xxxx Mapped Drives/ Printers
I have posted this issue on the tech net GP discussion groups page, but haven’t had any replies.

What's interesting is that I applied a new GP to users - it has one policy setting and one preferences setting. He only gets the policy setting.. aka he gets the wallpaper but not the homepage.

Would you please let me know which account you use to open GPO? Was it a Domain Administrator? Please refer to following KB and check if can help you to troubleshoot this issue.

Yes, Actually after looking into the problem some more it looks like the
changes are taking effect. The only problem that we are having is that
the start bar does not appear when the user log in and no drives are
showing up under windows explorer. I checked the policy and we did not
configure the section under windows explorer so i am not sure why the
drives are not showing. Also I am not sure why the start bar does not
appear.

SBL and Windows group policy user configuration preference

We would like to have user connects to VPN via SBL and then login to the AD domain. Ideally, the group policy user configuration preference, such as drive mapping, should be applied after successful AD login. However, we are running into issue where the preferences are not being applied. It appears the AnyConnect VPN tunnel is not completely established after the user login to AD; and hence the GPO preference was not able to apply. It takes about 1 min.after the user's AD login before the VPN tunnel is completely established.
Just want to find out if anyone is able to get SBL and AD GPO preference working successfully.

BO Custom class not taking effect

Created a customer module for BO part,
Extended WrapperCrmWecRegisterBase and WrapperCrmWecRegisterConsumer with

11g Catalog Permissions not taking effect

I am having an issue with the selected permissions not taking effect as they should. The major issue with this is that users that have been assigned to application roles that are assigned the 'Open' permission type are able to delete that same folder. Basically users that are only supposed to view objects in a folder now have access to delete that entire folder, despite inheriting application roles that have been set to only open that folder. This is only occurring at the Shared Folders level of the catalog, so as you can tell this could be a major issue if a user was to accidentally delete the entire shared folder structure. Further down in the catalog tree the permissions are acting properly. We have a folder with all of our GL reports that is secured in the same fashion, and the permissions work as intended there.
Is it possible that there is some kind of root level permission that is overriding what we have set up at the Shared Folders' permission level?

How are you packaging the files? If you use a .zip archive, the copies created when they unzip the archive should have the correct permissions.
And by the way, repairing permissions won't do anything with items in a user account.

Lync client gets user photos by first querying the Address Book Web Query (ABWQ) service on the server, which is exposed through the Distribution List Expansion web service. The client receives
the image file and then copies it to the user's cache to avoid downloading the image each time it needs to be displayed. The attribute values returned from the query are also stored in the cached Address Book Service entry for the user. The Address Book Service
deletes all cached images every 24 hours, which means that it can take up to 24 hours for new user images to be updated in the cache on the server.
To troubleshoot your problem, please follow the steps below:
1. Navigate to
“X:\share\1-WebServices-1\ABfiles\000000000\000000000” folder. (ABS file share)
You should see some photo files in this folder as the following screenshot.
2. Delete all the files in this folder.
3. On test PC, delete local cache files.

Classic Report - Column Conditions Not taking Effect when Changing Pagination

DB Version: 11g Release 11.2.0.3.0
Hi,
I have a classic report that has some columns that conditional hide/show depending upon the value of a page item. When the report is first displayed with the first pagination set(Rows 1-100), the columns display as they should.
When moving to the next pagination set(Rows 101-200), the columns no longer display as they should and it seems that the condition is not taking effect. Partial Page Refresh is set to 'Yes' for the report.
Any ideas on why this might be occurring?

Assuming you mean that columns are rendered while you expect them not to.
Are the conditions based on page items.
It could be that the session state of those items is different between when the page is first rendered and when de refresh due to the pagination is done.
See if adding the in the condition used page items to the page items to be submitted for the region helps.
Others wise see if you can replicate the issue on apex.oracle.com so we can see what you mean.

Changes to php.ini not taking effect

I'm running Leopard 10.5.8 with the Apple-supplied versions of PHP (5.2.10) and Apache (2.2.11). Changes made to the /etc/php.ini file are not taking effect after stop/start of Apache. phpinfo() and shell command php -i confirm the 'status quo'. The php.ini file permissions are 444 with root/wheel ownership. It was copied from the php.ini.default file that came with the php distribution. Here's what I'm trying to change - seems pretty like this should be pretty basic stuff:

Has anyone experienced a similar problem? Suggestions for fixing this malfunction would be greatly appreciated. I know I can hard code workarounds into my PHP code but that really defeats the whole purpose of even having a php.ini file....

Was able to successfully implement these changes on a different Mac OSX 10.5.8 system. Different architecture (1st system is MBP, 2nd system is MB) although each system has all software updates installed and is up-to-date. Copied php.ini file from MB to MBP and problematic settings were corrected. Ran /developer/applications/utilities/filemerge.app to check for differences between the two php.ini files. Found one (line 305):
Failing entry: error_reporting = E_ALL
Working entry: error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE
I took out E_NOTICE to help with debugging as per instructions from php.net/manual/en/errorfunc.configuration.php
Go figure....

Changes is special conversion routine not taking effect

I changed a special conversion routine specified in a conversion rule(BD79) with a rule type copy sender field.
I made the required changes to the function module CONVERSION_EXIT_&_OUTPUT and activated it but still the outbound Idoc suggests that the changes are not taking effect.
Can someone suggest what may be the reason for this?

Customizing CO class on site level is not taking effect

Hello,
I extended a CO class and changed the region "Controller Class" on Site level from "Inherit" to my newly created class
But the personalization is not taking effect when i run the page; any idea why?

will give the personalization availble for your page, then get the details using,

jdr_utils.printDocument('output of the above query');
end;
Make sure the above script is giving your controller in place and see what level your contoller is attached.

However, the last 2 lines are not taking effect. Example, I get 30 as info from query f_d. But in the end I have the condition and d.d_nm NOT In (f_d.info)

If the query in that form doesn't return any rows then start disassembling the SQL to see where rows are being dropped/filtered at. Is q1 and q2 returning what you think? How's that compare to d.d_nm? Is the outer select/from finding the rows you want found? Is your d.xmlcol.extract('//c/R/val/text()').getStringVal()) returning what you think it should (put it as a column in the SELECT statement)?
Without knowing more about your tables and data, that's the best I can offer. Start simplifying your SQL to see where if filters out the data you expect to see.

Changes to policy are not taking effect on windows 2000 workstations

We are currently running zenworks ver4. We have an XP 2000 mix
enviorment. When we make changes to the policy on XP the changes work.
When we make changes on the 2000 policy they do not take effect. I did
give the user local admin rights and that did not help. We are running the
latest client as well and installed the recent patches on the server.

Yes, Actually after looking into the problem some more it looks like the
changes are taking effect. The only problem that we are having is that
the start bar does not appear when the user log in and no drives are
showing up under windows explorer. I checked the policy and we did not
configure the section under windows explorer so i am not sure why the
drives are not showing. Also I am not sure why the start bar does not
appear.
