Dll not found when Tomcat run as an NT service

I am running Tomcat 4.1.27 j2sdk 1.4.2 on Windows 2000 SP4.
I am trying to connect to a datacom database using jdbc.
When I run Tomcat in a separate DOS window - the database connection works fine.
When I run Tomcat as an NT service I get the following error:
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: no cadcdb32 in java.library.path
The service is logged in as an administrator.
cadcdb32.dll is located in C:\Program Files\CA\AdvantageDatacomServer5.0\
This directory is in the PATH environmental variable.
The batch file that starts the DOS window (which works) is:
C:\j2sdk1.4.2\bin\java.exe -jar -Duser.dir="C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Tomcat 4.1" "C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Tomcat 4.1\bin\bootstrap.jar" start
How can I have Tomcat find the dll when run as a service ?
Thank you

  • Sqlora11.dll not found when running Pro*C application on 11g server

    Hello,
    Here is my environment:
Workstation: Windows XP (32bit) with Oracle Client 11g 32bit
    Server: Windows 2003 server 64bit with Oracle 11g 64bit
I have a Pro*C program that I have been able to pre-compiled, compiled and linked on my workstation using Mingw/gcc compiler and standard include files (sdtio.h...) from MS Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition.
    Precompilation: E:\app\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\BIN\proc.exe iname=Fill_Translated.pc oname=Fill_Translated.c userid=xxx/yyy@my11gDB code=ansi_c parse=full mode=oracle dynamic=oracle lines=yes sqlcheck=semantics errors=yes sys_include="C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\include" include=("E:\app\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\precomp\public","E:\app\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\oci\include")
    Compilation: c:\mingw\bin\gcc.exe -c Fill_Translated.c -o Fill_Translated.o -Wall -I E:\app\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\precomp\public -I E:\app\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\oci\include
    Link: c:\mingw\bin\gcc.exe -o Fill_Translated.exe Fill_Translated.o -L E:\app\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\precomp\LIB\ -lorasql11
The result is an executable file that gets connected to an 11g database hosted on a w2003 64-bit server, opens a table with blob fields and expands the blob content into a target table (one blob source record generates thousands of target records). Everything works fine when running from my workstation.
For some reasons, this executable file must run on the O11g server itself. So I copied and pasted the executable file on the server and tried to run it. I thought it would work...
But I get the following error message in a popup window: This application has failed to start because orasql11.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
At this point, I do not know anymore what to do to solve this problem !
Does it come from the fact that the complete build have been done on a Windows 32bit platform and the server is a 64-bit platform ?
Do I have to install a O11g 64bit client on my server to make it work ?
Do I have to rebuild everything from the server, meaning that I must install a kind of development environment on my server (Mingw/gcc and so on) ?
Is there something to change in the registry of the server or in the path environment variable so that this dll is found ?
    Any others ideas ??
    Thank you for your answers.

Actually, I do not have any O11g client installed on my Oracle server. But the DLL exists in my $ORACLE_HOME/lib on my server, more precisely in E:\app\dev_ora\product\11.1.0\db_1\BIN.
As I built my executable file on a win32 platform with O11g client 32bit installed, I was wondering if the same executable file copied onto the server was not trying to find the relevant 32 bit library on my win64 platform, which of course does not exists as I have only a 64bit version of this library !! Would-it be the cause of the problem ?
Does an O11g 32bit client installation on my Oracle 11g 64bit server would solve the problem ? Any inconvenient to have on the same server both an O11g 64bit server and an O11g 32bit client if it appears to be the solution ?

  • ERROR "Group Public not found" when I run project TutWD_FlightList

    Hi everyone,
I created Web Dynpro project TutWD_FlightList exactly as tutorial "Creating a Web Dynpro Application Accessing ABAP Functions ".
I chose "Data type"  for "Dictionary Meta Data" and "Destination type" for "Load-balanced connection",  when I  clicked test connection, the error information as follow:
    com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to message server host failed Connect_PM  TYPE=B MSHOST=sapserver GROUP=PUBLIC R3NAME=I01 MSSERV=sapmsI01 PCS=1 <b>ERROR       Group PUBLIC not found</b> TIME        Thu Mar 01 16:57:35 2007 RELEASE     640 COMPONENT   LG VERSION     5 RC          -6 MODULE      lgxx.c LINE        3531 DETAIL      LgIGroup COUNTER     2
It seems that the nature reason is "<b>Group Public not found</b>".
But I had created the "Public" group with transaction SMLG in related R/3 system,
and I can logon R/3 via "Public" group both on my laptop and on WebDynpro server. So I think "Public" group is ok.
The error information for "Ping" is :
Failed to ping JCo destination 'WD_FLIGHTLIST_MODELDATA_DEST'.
Is there any friends meet the same problem ?
Could you please give me any suggestion ?
    Thanks !
    Best Regards,
    Jianguo Chen

    jianguo,
Strange... Is Status field for PUBLIC is ok (green) in SMLG?
If you just want to run tutorial try group SPACE -- as far as I know it always exists.

  • Class not found when I run JSPs

I set up and can run JSPs in iPlanet 4.1 SP9 on NT. But if I use anything
such as Date() I get a Server Error and a Class Not Found in the error log.
Can someone tell me how to confire where the .class and .jar support files
go, or where do I put them. In the JDK install directory or in the iPlanet
    install directory.
    Thanks, Gary

Something to note, you must have superuser priveleges to run ibconf.
Check out this document about installing a PCI-GPIB on a Solaris machine. There is a section in it on page 9 about configuring the software with ibconf.

  • Gdiplus.dll not found when installing itunes 10

Hi, went to open iTunes today after a few weeks of not using it, received the following msg: 'iTunes exe: unable to locate component, this application has failed to start because gdiplus.dll was not found. Reinstalling may fix this problem' so I downloaded itunes 10, restarted etc, got this error again followed by 'iTunes was not installed correctly, please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows error 126)'. I've uninstalled & downloaded iTunes again but no joy, can anyone help please?

    Curses.
One trouble with Gdiplus.dll troubleshooting is that there are so many of the little beggars on a PC. I've got 18, for example. The capitalisation of the copy you're having trouble with indicates the copy in question might be down in your Side-by-side configuration, but there's a lot of different ones down there too.
Okay ... if it's one of the Side-by-Side copies that is giving us grief, then plausibly a repair install of your .net framework may be of some assistance as per:
[iTunes for Windows: "iTunes was not installed properly. Please reinstall iTunes" message|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3074]
... any luck with that, supple?

  • When I try to open iTunes from my PC, I get a message "aps daemon.exe  MSVCR80.dll not found  reinstall"

I have redownloaded iTunes and still get the same message. It has to do with my Windows Vista in some way? I cannot sync my iPad2, iOS 7.0.4 with my PC.
Can anyone help me? I don't want to lose the thousand and one things I've bought.

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

I discovered how to fix the problem of  "avfoundationcf.dll Not Found" in windows xp 32 bit
You just need to Uninstall and Re-Install the 'AppleApplicationSupport"
Just go to this directory "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple\Installer Cache\" and chose the directory "AppleApplicationSupport" with the higher version, my directory is "AppleApplicationSupport 2.1.6" Inside of this directory just run "AppleApplicationSupport.msi" and chose "Remove" when it finish run this file again and chose "Install"
    It worked for me
    Hope it help :]

This procedure might work or might not work:
Download the free Ccleaner and repair your Registry (repeat until clear)
    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard
Uninstall iTunes according to Apple's directions here
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
Use Ccleaner and repair your Registry again just in case.

Your iTunes content will not be removed,
Please regularly backup your iTunes content to external medium (hard drive, cd/dvd's) using the File>Backup Library in iTunes. Apple will not reissue new copies of content.

  • Tecra M9 - TPSMain.exe cannot start because CpePerf.dll not found

    Hi and help,
have searched the web and found other forum threads with similar issues.
Tried all the suggestions to no avail. I am not great on the computer but can find my way around. Anyway....
After login messge following messages pop up in succession, along the lines of : TPSMain.exe cannot start because CpePerf.dll not found then: TPSoddctl.exe cannot start because CpuPerf.dll not found
Computer works fine but Power Saver does not auto start and neither can i select it to from control panel.."toshiba power saver is not running",
so select it from Power options..."failed to start as CpuPerf.dll is not running"
Did all the searching on net and followed all advice... i.e. unistall power saver in safe mode, unistall toshiba common utilities neither can unistall fatal error 0x7e
So download Ccleaner, run checks, unistall with Ccleaner same fatal error.
Been on Toshiba support and tried to install Power Saver......same problem won't install .
So help help help if possible.
Computer is working fine but messages popping up are annoying and i would love power saver to prolong battery.
Tried system restore, though i doubt this affects the files...another problem "system restore could not complete"...tried this several times and cannot system restore either....what is going on???????
    any help please
    Tim

    Cheers for the advice Andrei,
so you suggest there is nothing i can do other than restore from Toshiba recovery disc. Do you think somebody with a bit more knowledge could do sort it out with a less drastic approach..i.e is it worth taking it into a shop? Or do you think they will just have to go down the same route?
If i follow your plan is it just a simple case of downloading all my docs, photos, bookmarks to an external hd and then inserting the recovery disc and following intructions.?? I guess this disc then formats the HD and then reinstalls all the components the laptop came with??? is it infact a drastic approach, or quite simple as a procedure...what do i stand to looose?
Also how do i save xp as this is a version i installed when working/ using my laptop for my previous employer and i no longer have access to the discs/product key.
also could you confirm if this procedure would sort out system restore. I have tried restoring again to several restore points and the procedure will not complete, so this function is definitely not working anymore.
Sorry for more questions but as you can see this is not familair territory for me!!
    many many thanks
    Tim

  • Imaq.dll not found

    Hi all,
We have a program that acquires images from a camera. We use LV 8.5 and NI-IMAQ. It worked wonderfully until today, when after installation in a customer's computer, the customer tried to run it and got the message "imaq.dll not found" and asked the user to find it.
What is this dll, and why was the program easily able to find it before?  Can I just insert imaq.dll into my project so it will have to include it in the installer? If not, does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Danielle,
You can download the Vision Acquisition software from ni.com. This includes NI-IMAQ.  That way you will have the source files you need when you go to create your installer.  The link is:

  • Xvidcore.dll not found

When opening Encore I get the error: "xvidcore.dll not found". I can close this and all runs ok (so I think so far). Any ideas on a fix? Thanks!

XviD is another thing like DivX - best avoided.
It's an AVI - of sorts - but a very heavily compressed one, where it is possible to put an entire movie on a 700Mb CD-ROM.
Trying to use this sort of AVI file is never going to give great results either.
AVI simply means "Audio Video Interleave", nothing more, and there are many types. For the purposes of DVD, you should ideally be using DV AVI Type 2.

  • LIBRFC32.DLL not Found Error

We have installed Data Services 3.2 on a VM running Windows Server 2003 Standard x64 Edition SP2.  We are testing an SAP Applications datastore, but when we try to extract data from the SAP system, we get this error:
NT RFC DLL <LIBRFC32.DLL> not found.
I have verified that this file exists in the DS bin folder.
Has anyone encountered this?  Could this have something to do with the 64-bit OS?
    Thanks

    Hi Paul,
In a 64 bits server, you have to add that file in c:\windows\syswow64 instead of system32.
Also, it helps if you install the sapgui in the DS server (not mandatory but recommended).
