DMM issue

Dear All,
I have DMM version 5.0.2 that controlled about 35 DMP's over WAN and the DMP's displayed design contains one Video play list and two none video play lists ,the non video play lists integrated with two applications .
my issue is in last Wednesday 35/3/09 the administrator can't access the web page of the DMM server and the DMP's displayed the video only and the problem solved by made a restart for the server .
and the administrator told me that this issue is periodically every month .
so I need a help to know the reason of the problem .
Thanks ,
Ahmed Ellboudy

Ahmed,
Thanks for the update!
- How often does this happen? Is the interval the same amount of days (ie. every 30 days)?
- Steps to follow at next occurrence:
* SSH to the DMM Server
* Select SHOW INFO and Capture Print Screen of information.
Press OK to go back to MAIN AAI Menu
* Select GET_SYSLOG
The logs will hopefully gives an idea of what is going on with the Server. There appears to be some services that are failing or stopped which requires a reboot to get things working again.
* Go back to Main Menu, Select Digital Media Manager Control. Select BACKUP DMM.
* The Next step is to OPEN a Service Request with Cisco TAC Center.
Please provide the following information:
- Detailed Description of the Problem
- Steps Taken to Resolve Issue (Work Around)
- Attach the Print Screen Capture of the SHOW INFO of the DMM Server & the SYSLOGs downloaded from the DMM.
- Attach DMM Backup File
The Cisco TAC Engineer can then review the Logs and Setup a test bed with your DB to see if he\she can recreate your issue.
I hope this helps..

    * Connect RS-232 cable to the DMP and the LCD.
I believe either RS-232 port should work for the LCD.  I thought the FRONT port (closet to front of TV)
was an IN\OUT port.  And the BACK port was just an IN port.  I used the BACK port for my testing.
    * next, you NEED to ENABLE ON RS-232 controls on the DMP first.  From the DMM, issue the
"Advanced Task--> System Task --> RS-232: Control Supported, non-DMTech displays" for the DMP(s)
in question.   By default, RS-232 controls are disabled.
    * Create 2 new System Tasks in the Advanced Tasks Tab.
    Turn ON  - Cisco LCD = rs232.tx_hex=aa11fe010111
    Turn OFF - Cisco LCD = rs232.tx_hex=aa11fe010010
    * Once RS-232 Control is Enabled & the New System Tasks are created, You can now issue the LCD Turn On & Off
tasks from the DMM-DSM DMP Manager.
Note:  You can combine RS-232 commands using the "Control TV"  tool on the DMP Manager List Zone.  The "Control TV"
is designated by the TV with Antenna Icons in the DMP List Tool bar.
    RS-232 Troubleshooting
    ======================
    - Make sure the RS-232 cable has the correct pin out.
    - Make sure RS-232 is enabled on the DMP.
    - Perform the following to make sure the cable is
correct and the DMP is sending RS-232 commands:
    1. Connect RS-232 from the DMP to a PC
    2. Open HyperTerminal and set RS-232 settings from
       previous slide
    3. Send hex commands from the DMP though DMM-DSM
    4. You should see the hex command in your HyperTerminal
After verifying DMP is sending the RS-232 command,
    please, check the following:
    1. The RS-232 is connected to the "IN" port and not the "OUT"
       port.
    2. Make sure monitor ID is set correct and the ID matches the
       ID in the hex command.
    3. If no ID is set, use FE, for all monitors, as the monitor ID in
       the hex command
    4. Double check the command and the check sum value.
       * Make sure each field has 2 digits

  • DMP 4400G RS 232 connection with Cisco LCD 100 PRO 40N

    Hi everyone,
I know that this question was kinda asked before, but I still have trouble setting the DMM to control the Cisco  LCD 100 PRO 40N (Samsung) through the DMP RS 232 connection!
I have searched  and read every post on this forum, tried everything  ("Samsung_MDC_RS232_Protocol_Ver-21.pdf" & rs232.tx_hex= ) but with no avail.
We  have DMS VmWare Demo (Signs&Cast 5.2, Show and Share 5.2) and 4400G  with 5.2 firmware.
Also, I've connected the Serial  RS232 9-Pin Female to Female that came with the TV onto the DMP 4400G  and into the TV RS232 IN port, configured the DMP Display Control in the  Advance Task tab as you can see from the attach picture, and set the TV  type to Cisco 40N and Power ON and another task for Display OFF. What  am I doing wrong here!?
Any input will be  greatly appriciated!

With DMS 5.2, this pretty straight forward as your JPEG attachment shows.

  • NIC issue's with DMM

Has anyone had any issues with the DMM NIC.  I have been having a considerable amount of dropped frames and duplicate transmissions, I think my NIC1 is going bad, when trying to utilize NIC2.  The NIC never comes ready, but I have link status.   Are their any specific port settings I can mannually set, or a way to see which NIC it is pointing too.   Are their any limitations with using NIC2.

Really? I use youtube every day (yes, everyday for a solid hour) and I don't experience poor video quality. I also prefer the iPad youtube app over using my desktop. I don't have to deal with flash and I it is a lot more immersive of an experience with the iPad because of the excellent app design it has. If you have a problem with not being able to use flash to watch TV or other videos on specific websites you should contact them and request them to support HTML5 for mobile devices.

  • DMM -- Video Portal Setup issue

    Hello,
I'm working with V5.0 of Video Portal but I had some troubles with the set up once I took the equipment to my customer's facilities to give them a demo. So I found out that the best way to carrect that is restoring servers to defaults. DMM appliance has a recovery CD but VP appliance does not. I already restored DMM but I can not do the same with VP and I am still having some issues.
I would appreciate if somebody has some suggestion.
    Thanks
    Roberto Guzmán.

To rectify this issue follow the steps :
Step 1 Log in, select DMM_Control, then press Enter.
Step 2 To restore DMM, select RESTORE_DMM, press Enter, then do one of the following:
To restore from a backup on a USB drive, select USB, then press Enter.
To restore from a backup on a video portal appliance, select VIDEO_PORTAL, then press Enter.

  • DMM4400G connection issue with DMM

    Hi,
I have some problems interfacing my DMP4400 to DMM.
I tried to connect my DMM4400G to DMM running in my virtual machine. DMM4400G has username password combination as "username/password" , "admin/Default123". In my DMM I configured the servelet address as my DMM IP address and username password as "admin/Default123". (This is the DMP Web admin login)
Then when discovering my DMM it discoverd the DMP. I can see green indication under my Digital Media Managers in DMM. But after 2-3 minutes time it indicates red cross mark as DMP is down. But I can ping my DMP and can login also. When I went to see Alerts under DMM administration I can see there is a DMPDown message comes from my DMP.
When restarting my DMP it follows the same process. ( indicating DMP is online for 2-3 minutes and show as DMP down)
Please help me regarding this issue. I here attached the screenshots of my DMM.
    Thanks
    Yasanthie

    Yasanthie,
What appears to be the issue is the following:
You are running a VMware image of DMS 5.2.
The DMPs in the screenshot are running DMP firmware 5.1 & 5.0.2.
*** The DMPs "MUST" run the same firmware as DMM.  Therefore, your
DMPs need to be upgraded to DMS 5.2
Note:  I can not tell which model of DMPs you are running but if they are
DMP-4305G players, you will need to upgrade the KERNEL firmware first and
    the the DMP firmware second.

  • DMP 5.1 = 5.2 Upgrade Issue? "An error has occurred..."

I upgraded from 5.1 to 5.2, and the VP and DMP upgrades went fine (other than the one 4305 I managed to "brick" in the process).  But
on the DMM upgrade, not so much.  All seemed to work well, except when trying to access the DMM admin post-install I get the following error message: ("An error has occurred.  Click on the button below to try again.  If this does not work, please contact your system administrator.)
I suspected a DNS misconfiguration issue on the initial upgrade, but after verifying forward and reverse DNS FQDN's everywhere, I did a clean 5.1 build and upgrade to 5.2, and still the same issue.
Everything else seems to work fine.  AAI is accessible and it sync's with SaS, and there are not other visible errors reporting anywhere else along the way, but I can't seem to get past this (Tomcat?) error.
    Ideas?
    Thanks...
    Mike

This is a known issue that is being addressed.
    Description
Certificate disappears after upgrade from 5.1 to 5.2
    Solution
Regenerate Certificate by changing Hostname (can be the same hostname, just select “OK” w/o changing the name).
    SnS First, then DMM
    Reboot Server
This is from the AAI interface...
Let me know if this works..

  • BSOD issues with Z68A-GD55 (B3): BIOS issue? Hardware issue? Voltage issue?

Built this PC two months ago and have had issues.  This is the message posted on the BIOS section:
    Quote from: Grahamburger76 on 19-November-11, 03:48:23
I have the z68-gd55 (b3).  I built this PC bout two months ago.  Awhile after the build, started getting BSODs during gaming and eventually was led here to flash a new BIOS.  I flashed the latest beta BIOS successfully and played for several hours.  Then sleep the pc but get a BSOD again when powering it back up.  The BCCode indicates an issue with the GPU or driver but I have read on that there was a problem in the BIOS  for the z68-gd65 (g3) that the voltage was off and needed to be set differently to accommodate
Quote from: Bernhard on 23-September-11, 03:14:41
@Junior, all three BIOS' that I tested, the BCLK is shown as 100 in the BIOS but once in the OS it applies 98. I have now set the base freq manually 10010 and that applies 100,2 BCLK once in the OS. Needs to be fixed.
The multi is still artificially restricted at X49.
DRAM auto apply voltage is 1,472 in the BIOS. I set it manually to 1,5V (1,507V) to prevent BSOD. Rebooting, the BIOS still shows applied DRAM voltage as 1,472 although 1,507 is applied. Need to do some DMM tests.
CPU phase control on the latest BIOS works correctly in Intel SVID Mode with the LEDs being lit solidly from 1 to 6 as the load is applied.
Selecting APS results in either the first 3 LEDs being lit or all 6 LEDs being lit, nothing in between.
Has this been an issue in this boards BIOS too?  Thanks because short of RMAing parts, I am about at a loss as to what to do to fix these issues.
This started with screen freezes needing hard restart using the restart button while playing Dragon Age:Origin and continued with Battlefield p4f, and BF3.  After reseating the CPU/cooler, RAM, GPU then updating the drivers using Live Update 5 and then manually updating; I started getting BSODs and restarts while playing games and several time while using 3D Mark.  Tried to change the voltage for the DRAM with no help and loaded only the Default Optimized Settings in BIOS.  I updated the BIOS to the listing in my signature, moved the HDD and Optical drive to different SATA ports and updated the audio driver to the current one on MSI website.  System finally seemed to be running fine then the stuff happened as quoted form my previous post.
As this stuff has continued, the PC seems to be running slower and slower.  What I mean by that is the boot times have started taking longer and the system does not respond as quickly to commands.  Like now, as I type, I am at least two or three words ahead of what is put on the screen (never has done that before).  Funny thing about that is this was the fastest computer I have ever had with response, booting, and post (my wife even commented on how fast it booted up).  Not sure if the other issues have anything to do with this but I am trying to post everything I can think of to give all the necessary info.  If more information is needed then let me know and possibly tell me where to find it?
Not really sure how to post the dump files from Blue Screen View and My Event Viewer but gladly would if someone can give a newbie some direction on this.  Thanks in advance for all help and consideration.

Yes, the BIOS I have flashed was pulled from there.  I thought it had the problem resolved until it had another BSOD after several hours of use.
The Stop:error code, is that the Bug Check Code from the Blue Screen Viewer?

  • RSS not displaying correct characters - DMM 5.2

    Hi all,
I have recently bumped into the following issue.
I have setup the php proxy and tested it using various rss feeds (e.g google) with success.
Though, if i try to load some Greek Rss Feeds i get some really strange(unreadable form, mixed characters etc) rss feeds strolling in our LCDs.
Someone could tell that Greek Fonts are not currently supported by DMM 5.2 but i can only say that while being under 5.1 we could retrieve and display Greek Rss Feeds with success.
What has really changed to 5.2 version?
Is this a limitation of flash???
    Thank you all!

    I tried
    http://www.sigmalive.com/rss/latest/7
via the Web Browser plane and it appears to display the Greek
    with no issues.
As I noted before, the problem is with Digital Media Designer(DMD) in
    5.2.  Greek is not supported.
If you create a web page or presentation with RSS feed (greek) with a
"Different" tool or application it ** SHOULD ** work.
Try and let me know if it works or not..

  • Expression Error (#:-1074001424) with Keithley 2000 DMM

I wrote a program to that uses the Keithley DMM to check voltages on multiple channels, wait a period of time, and then check again. This cycle continues for the time specified.  I made this program on one laptop and it worked fine.  When I moved it over to a different laptop and a different Keithley DMM, then I started to see this issue.
After stepping thru the program, It seems that the error comes from the "Configure Scan.vi".  The exact error message is:
    <ERR> ke2000 Error Query;
    instrument reports:
    -260,"Expression error"
and the error code is: -1074001424.
I searched for these myself and couldnt find anything helpful.  i changed a few things around and it seems that the "scan mode" parameter seems to be the problem.  It needs to be set to "internal" to read the channels on the additional scan card, but the program will return an error if it is not set to "none"... and when its set to "none" nothing happens.
    Please help me out! Thanks

Nvm.... fixed it.  For the Configure Scan.vi, in some cases, one of the parameters, "Stop Channel", would be set to 1, when the starting channel was, by default, set to 1. Apparently this caused a conflict of some kind but I changed my program around so this doesnt happen anymore.

  • Need more info for the ag34405 DMM VI's

    Hi !
I'm working with the Agilent 34405a multimeter and made a little VI for data-logging. The problem is, I want to choose between 4.5 & 5.5 resolution and the is no litterature about it. I'm using the NI drivers and VI's made for this application. There is a VI named "Configure measurement.vi" in which you could perhaps select the resolution (as the default value is 0.0001, that would be for 5.5 digits I think). I already tried to change the value from 0.0001 to 0.001 but the instrument still use the 5.5 digit measurement method.
Does somebody also know if there is more documentation as the contextual help of each VI made for the ag34405a DMM (there are more or less only default values explained, but I would need more...)?
I've attached my VI if this could help to solve this issue. Am working with LabView 8.20.
In advance, thanks for your help !

    Yves,
One of the things that is great about instrument drivers is the context help on each of the controls. You can turn the context help on with Ctrl+H and then hover you mouse cursor over the control. If you open "Configure Measurement.vi" and look at the help for the absolute resolution control you'll see a good description that includes:
    Notes:
    (1) The instrument driver ignores this parameter if the Range parameter is set to AG34405A_VAL_AUTO_RANGE_ON (-1) .
If you look at the help of the Range parameter you'll find see a similar discription with details and the following:
    Defined Values:
    AG34405A_VAL_AUTO_RANGE_OFF (-2)   (-2.0)  - Auto-Range Off
    AG34405A_VAL_AUTO_RANGE_ON (-1)    (-1.0)  - Auto-Range On
Based on this, can you try setting the auto-range to -2 and specifying the absoulte resolution?
    Regards,
    Kamran

  • No DMM functions in functions palette

    Good Morning,
I'm VERY new to labview but I'm starting to get the hang of it. Anyway i've been searching for hours and have been unable to find a solution to my issue.
    I'm running a NI PXIe-1078 chassis with PXIe-8101 controller
I'm trying to program data aquisition for my PXI-4071 DMM in my Labview project but there are no functions in the functions palette.
I installed the NI-DMM 3.0.5 driver and can see the device connected in MAX. I can even use the soft panel and take measurements from the PXI-4071.
For the other devices i have installing the driver put the functions in the functions palette but for some reason they are all missing for the DMM.
I've tried using the DAQmx and searching for an analog input channel but it is not on the list.
    please help!
    Sincerely,
    Michael Reed

It sounds like a "corrupt" installation of NI DMM (see paragraph below).
Please note that NI DMM 3.0.5 is out-dated, so you should get a more recent version.
When installing a new system, NI recommends to start with the developement environments and in the last step to install all desired drivers. Following this ensures that the installer of the drivers can detect the installed ADEs and select to install the APIs for these. If you swap install order, the APIs are not installed with the driver, leaving the ADE blank (no examples, no palettes).
You can install the APIs in a second iteration, but that is an effort you should only put into the system when installing a new version of an ADE.

  • DMM-DMS on 5.0 and 4310G DMP Compatibility

I just bought 2 new 4310G DMP's and when they come up, they show as up for a short period of time and then show down.  I ensured that the passwords are the same on the DMP's and the DMM.  Is there an compatibility issue with the firmware, by chance?  I haven't been able to find anything, but that is my last guess.

    Hi there,
Are you actually running 5.0 with a new DMP (which should ship with 5.4x) ?
I have not tried this myself but the app releases match the corresponding DMP firmware versions and each update calls for updating the firmware on the endpoints.

  • DMM/DMS Ldap integration and filters

We have our DMM 5.2.1 integrated into a Microsoft Ldap environment.  It makes the connection to ldap,  but I can't seem to get any users imported.  Do I need a filter?  If so,  can I get an example different from the one in the manual?  my setup looks like this:
    Base DN:   CN=dms users,OU=applications,OU=security,DC=site,DC=lcl
    filter:  CN=*
all of my users are in the dms users CN,  but none show up even though the filter is validated.
    Any suggestions would be appreciaited.
    Thanks,
    Ben

Please ignore.  An appliance reboot of the SNS and DMM servers resolved this issue....
