Do I have to pay for the In-App-Purchase of the new GarageBand-version if I already paid for GarageBand before?

I am using GarageBand for some months now and I´m really happy with that software. Yesterday the new version (2.0) was released and it is now for free. However if you want the whole bundle you have to get the available in-app-purchase. This however means having to pay once again for something I already paid for, correct?
Or is the in-app-purchase for free to those people who already paid for the app?

Just tried - sign in to the account you used to buy the software and click restore purchase. The old Garageband users are automagically given the full version by internal systems of Apple.

Why do I have no sound on the new Garageband?
I have no audio coming from Garageband 10.0.2. Downloaded it on Saturday and have spent the last two days trying to figure out why it won't work. I'm using a macbook pro with an Alesis QX49. GB registers keyboard when I plug it in but no sound whatsoever, not even from the onscreen keyboard. It seems to read the keyboard as if I play a C chord, it appears in the display. I've done all the obvious stuff like check preferences, restart, I've deleted and downloaded new GB several times and always with same result. Actually, it took me about four attempts to download it in the first place as I was getting an internet connection error message right at the end of the download, and I see others have had that problem. Managed to solve that by downloading in safe mode but now the no sound thing is driving me absolutely crazy because I can't play my keyboard!!!!! Also, worth noting that there is no audio level being read anywhere, I believe in the new version this appears in the volume control at the top. I've also looked into it potentially being a problem with my keyboard and it possibly needing an update but can't find any difinitive answer for that anywhere. I've stopped looking into that because the on screen keyboard doesn't even work - if that worked then I would know at least GB works and it's something to do with the keyboard. So, I am at a complete loss. If anyone has any ideas about why this is happening or what I could do to solve then I would be very grateful.
I can delete tracks but I can't add them. Nothing changes when I delete the tracks.
That looks like your project were corrupted, Chris. What happens, when you create a new project with "File > New"?
I also can't open previous projects, I get the error message:

You are trying to open the previous projects from the Media Browser, right? That will only work, if these projects have been saved with an iLife Preview, using the "Share > Media Browser" command.
Can you open the previous projects from the "File" menu in GarageBand? File > Open recent?
It's looking more and more like it hasn't downloaded properly or fully but I have deleted and downloaded again several times with same result. It might be worth trying again unless there is anything else to try?
Something is certainly wrong - either the current project, some settings in your user account, or the downloaded GarageBand version. Or incompatible software may be interfering.
If a new project does not work, try to test by logging into a different user account, for example the "Guest User" account. Create a new project using this account. Does GarageBand work better from this account? Then we will need to troubleshoot your preferences. -
I am very unhappy.
In order to access my documents from iCloud I have to upgrade to Mavericks (free, alright) and the new Pages, for which I have to pay.
The new Pages (and Numbers etc) does not have the same functionality as the one I have been using - yet I have to pay for it. Alright, Apple promises to upgrade in the next six months and add the new functionality. This is not good enough.
This was a very unpleasant surprise today - when I went to my document that I have been working on on my iPhone and my Mac at various times during the day and the Mac one had changed to 'Untitled 47' and the version on my iPhone would not open on my Mac unless I upgraded to the new Pages - $19.99 - and to OSX Mavericks - free - but I don't want to upgrade yet. And I don't want to pay for a new version of Pages that clearly does not have the same functionality(according to the user comments and the apple page that this discussion is about).
I have praised Apple to high heaven for the functionality of iCloud. But this really really annoys me.
If there's anything I hate its a company I am relying on forcing me to upgrade before they've sorted out the bugs.
I am definitely considering changing to a different company's word processor - if only they had a word processor that I could use on my Mac and iOS devices.

IA Writer and Byword both can use the iCloud.
Writeroom only syncs using Dropbox.
Of course they're very minimal apps compared to Pages, or Word.
I feel very depressed.
Perhaps I will have to use one of these and then import into Word for final editing.
Believe it or not, for a minute I thought MS Word might be a contender for iOS syncing - because there is this thing called Office 365. But look at the reviews.

I'd like to get iWork on both my ipad 2 and iphone 4 mainly for traveling purposes... Right now I lent my iPad to my dad whose in somewhere else now so I don't have access to the iPad. So, I was wondering if right now I buy iWork onto my iPhone, and then when the iPad comes home, can I install that same iWork I bought through my apple acout and not have to pay for another version, and the iPad iWork can go full screen beautifully and not ugly?
iWork is universal, so it will work full-res on the iPad. This is true for any app which has the plus sign symbol (in the App Store in iTunes it will say "This app is designed for iPhone and iPad".

I still have ilife '09. How can i update to the new ilife? Do i have to pay for each app seperately in order to update?
I am an Aperture user and I am tired of managing my old iphoto library seperately. In order to use the new combined aperture/iphoto abilities i need a newer version of iphoto. Apple says that the new iphoto is free, however my iphoto (version 8.1.2) did not update. How do i update iphoto so that i can use the library with Aperture?iPhoto, iMovie and Garageband are free. On October 11th I started an EDGE agreement for the NOTE 3. I make a $92.30 payment over the phone (which is listed above). The lady said it would arrive two days after the phone comes out. It didn't show up two days after it came out and my little Droid X went dead on me. I called customer service and asked if the phone has been shipped yet. They said it has not. I asked if I could pick it up in the store instead. They said yes. They said they would cancel the shipment so I can pick it up in the store. I end up going to the store at Torrance Crossroads and I was just about to get the phone. Then sales rep was trying to force me into buying the case and charger package that was a deal with the phone for $100.I said no and he got hurt and quiet over it. 5 minutes later he comes up to me saying the edge agreement is not cancelled and they can not give me the phone. I asked if there is anything he can do or call customer service and verify because customer service told me it could be done. He said no and walked away.
I call customer service and they say that they stopped the order and told me to go back to the store and try again. I did not wanna see the sales rep at Torrance Crossroads so I go to another Verizon store on hawthorne blvd in Torrance. I try the same process and the same thing happens. I tell them to call customer service and verify what is going on. I wait for 2 hours while they talk to customer service and the financial department. They tell me they will start another edge agreement on my girlfriends line and give me the note 3 so I can use it on my line. They said they waved the fee through some promotion since I went through a lot of trouble getting the phone and I should be getting a check in the mail for the $92.30 I paid on 10/11/13.
Ever since then I have been paying for two edge agreements at $29.16 a piece. I have also been paying an extra $8 for insurance on a note 3 that I do not have. I have not gotten reimbursed the $92.30 I paid on 10/11/13. I have been calling customer service since December and have not gotten any where. Today was the last straw when the guy put me on hold and I ended up getting transferred to the sales department... What should I do? Is there anyone that can actually help my situation out. I already suspended my line and will do so for the next 5 months until this is fixed.@Dakotaep

Purchasing a new song or album will not affect any other song or album in your library.
In the case of the two albums you mention, if you purchase them both, you will have the same song (different copies) in both albums. -
Why can't I download apps I have to pay for on to my new iPad Mini. I have had an Apple id for my iPhone for years and have downloaded app to it, no problems. When I try to download apps to my new iPad Mini, it tells me my billing info has to be confirmed. After confirming with same info that is already there it tells me to contact support, no help up to this point.
Could the credit card be expired?
Beyond that, what you need to do is contact iTunes support, they can tell you exactly what is wrong, none of us here can do that.

My ex-boyfriend stole my email address and credit card information to make purchases with Apple and now my Apple ID has a balance. You need to immediately pull credit reports to see what else he has done. Then "freeze" the credit report at all three agencies. That way even you need to lift the freeze to add credit cards or other credit items to your SSN.

i bought some books about automotive engines by TSD training. A total of 3 books.
Earlier i was browsing the iBooks App Store and noticed these books were now part of a 14 course mechanics collection of books.
I wanted to buy the remaining 11 courses (iBooks) in this collection thinking I could just "complete my album" per say as you can when purchasing a collection of music on a given album but it seems I do not have this option. Will I have to pay for these 3 books again if I buy the collection? is there a way around this? Can I choose only the remaining books I need? Any help is appreciated. I don't pay for more space and I'm backing up two devices to iCloud, a 32G ipad and a 16G phone.
However, you can merely chose NOT to backup to iCloud. Then you won't run out of space. Items synced to iCloud do not take up your backup space.
Now, you WILL have to back up to your computer via iTunes the old fashioned way, or risk losing valuable data. Your choice.
However, if you manage your data responsibility, you won't run out of your 5G of storage on your iCloud backup from normal use.

I've got iLife apps on my mac mini mid 2011. I wanted to install them on my mb air mid 2013, but for some reason iPhoto and iMovie aren't free, except GarageBand - this app is free. I've already bought iLife apps from one Apple ID on my mac mini and the same ID I use now on my mb air. Do I have to pay for iPhoto again?

Your MacBook Air should come with those applications for free. On your MacBook Air, open the Mac App Store, log in with the Apple ID you used to set it up, go to Purchases and accept iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, Pages, Keynote and Numbers.

No, your iCloud storage is seperate. I have 42GB of music in my itunes match account and I still have almost all of the 5GB of storage space free. You only have to pay for itunes match once and as long as you don't have more than 25,000 songs in your itunes, you are good to go.

No. But you have to purchase a data plan in order to use the iPad via the 3G connection. Some 3G iPad owners do not have internet service at home and rely only on the 3G connection.
If you do not purchase a data plan to use with the 3G, then you will only be able to use your iPad where you can find a WiFi connection - like at a library, or a Starbucks, Barnes and Noble, a friend's house that has WiFi .....
