Do I need the 'java-polling-amf in my services-config.xml if I'm using coldfusion
Do I need the 'java-polling-amf in my services-config.xml if I'm using coldfusion?
Im using IntelliJ IDEA with a flex project and for some reason its stopping comilation with this error:
[SUITE (Flex Application 1)] flex.messaging.config.ConfigurationException: The services configuration includes a channel-definition 'java-polling-amf' that has an endpoint with a context.root token but a context root has not been defined. Please specify a context-root compiler argument.
when I was using flex builder with CF builder I never needed to specify the context.root
I don't use IDEA, so I don't know what kind of configuration settings it has for Flex project development.
You don't need the java-polling-amf channel for CF development. By default, CF development uses CF-specific channels:
my-cfamf
cf-polling-amf
my-cfamf-secure
any custom channels you've created yourself for CF to use
That said, all the channels require a context root setting for your project to compile properly. If you still have Flash Builder handy, take a look at your compiler switches for a project there to see what you're missing in IDEA.

How to retrieve the java object in a proxy service in osb -- Plz help
Hi all,
I have a singleton java class which runs whenever the weblogic server gets started and store the output in its object. I need to access this java object from a proxy service in osb.
We tried using java call out and retrieved that object but we couldn't know how to parse that object into XML.
We are not sure of using the java call out in osb to solve this purpose because whenever we use a java callout, that particular java code will run which is not the case of singleton class.
So kindly help us how to retrieve the java object which holds the output without running the java code every time because its already run and holding the output in its object.
Regards
Prabhuhere the doc http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/userguide/context.html#wp1106656
but I guess you are already at the stage of getting a POJO in a first Java Callout and passing the POJO to a second Java Callout, which should then return it to OSB as a XMLObject.
My recommendation is to write a Java function which returns a XMLObject and uses a XMLCursor to populate it with the values of the POJO.
An XMLObject returned to the OSB is automatically transformed in a "XML" variable (which in reality is represented as a XMLObject in the Pipeline context)
Here some code sample:

Today I tried to configure JAVA APM on a CentOS 6.4 server with tomcat6 installed through the normal RPM package. Adding this server to SCOM was no problem and it shows itself as a 'Deep Monitored Configuration'. The last part of enabling
JAVA APM fails. I have followed the following process:
1. Imported the JAVA APM MP's
2. Extracted the JAVA APM Files
3. Copied those files to my CentOS server
4. Added the JAVA_OPTS to my tomcat configuration file
5. Restarted Tomcat
When I look for the log file which needs to be created through the installation of the APM agent it cannot be find. When I look into my Catalina.out file I see the following errors:

Does anyone have seen this error before? Can someone help me with this one?
Thnx,I'm running tomcat on a CentOS release 6.4 (Final) server. I installed Tomcat 6 through an RPM from the CentOS sources. I have installed Apache Tomcat/6.0.24 wit JVM version 1.7.0_09-icedtea-mockbuild_2013_01_16_18_52-b00, the JVM Vendor is Oracle Corporation.
My tomcat configuration needs to be done in '/etc/tomcat6/tomcat6.conf'
I installed the APM Agent in the path '/opt/apm/' with the rights 40755 (root/root). The files have the following rights:
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root tomcat 32046 Mar 3 15:38 apm_facade.jar
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root tomcat 244819 Mar 3 15:38 apm_monitor.jar
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root tomcat 38110 Mar 3 15:38 apm_producers.jar
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root tomcat 207006 Mar 3 15:38 asm-all-3.3.1.jar
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root tomcat 4157 Mar 3 15:38 ASM_Third_Party_Notices.txt
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root tomcat 241368 Mar 3 15:38 DispatcherStub.dll
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root tomcat 36880 Mar 3 15:38 pmonitor.config.xml
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root tomcat 2625 Mar 3 15:38 SEAgent.config.xml
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root tomcat 830 Mar 5 15:19 Starter.properties
The above rights are equal to the /etc/tomcat6 directory with the tomcat configuration files.
In the tomcat6.conf I have added the following entries:
#Microsoft SCOM APM
JAVA_OPTS="${JAVA_OPTS} -Djava.library.path=/opt/apm"
JAVA_OPTS="${JAVA_OPTS} -javaagent:/opt/apm/apm_facade.jar -Xbootclasspath/p:/opt/apm/apm_producers.jar -Xbootclasspath/p:/opt/apm/apm_facade.jar"
When I look into the running tomcat process I see the following:
tomcat 17401 1 0 Mar05 ? 00:00:39 /usr/lib/jvm/jre/bin/java -Djava.library.path=/opt/apm -javaagent:/opt/apm/apm_facade.jar -Xbootclasspath/p:/opt/apm/apm_producers.jar -Xbootclasspath/p:/opt/apm/apm_facade.jar

-Djava.util.logging.config.file=/usr/share/tomcat6/conf/logging.properties -Djava.util.logging.manager=org.apache.juli.ClassLoaderLogManager org.apache.catalina.startup.Bootstrap start
My Starter.Properties looks like this:
# Jars to load by inner classloader.
# Use semicolons to separate the JAR entries
ClassPath=apm_monitor.jar;asm-all-3.3.1.jar;apm_producers.jar
# Path to pmonitor.config

The 'apm-java-agent.log' is not created on the system. The only logging is done in the catalina.out. When restarting tomcat I see the following entries in te log file:

Hi,
How can the client know if the SSL certificate specified in the service-config.xml file is invalid/untrusted/expired? For example using iOS client, the trusted certificate will not work and the client has no way to know that the certificate is untrusted. Can the lcds server return any specific exceptions for SSL errors?
Thanks,
Swathi. We use a standard Java keystore and certificate validation can be handled as per standard best practices. At present we do not provide a hook point to validate the server certificate. However, you can register a bootstrap service which validates the certificate on system startup: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/dataservicesjee/4.6/Developing/WSc3ff6d0ea77859461172e0811f00f 6fe7f-7ffeUpdate.html This would require you to pass another copy of the keystore configuration to you Bootstrap service and then you can inspect the certificate in the keystore and validate it.

Hi,
I am tryng to create a Flex Project, but got stuck with an error....
The Error is Invalid root. The WEB-INF/flex folder must contain either flex-config.xml or services-config.xml.
Initially I download jboss-5.1.0.GA and placed it in C folder.
While creating project, I selected J2EE server, selected remote object access service and LiveCycle Data Services...
In the next step, I de-selected the use default location for local LiveCycle Data Services server.
In the root folder - C:\jboss-5.1.0.GA
for Root URL: http://localhost:8700/flex/
Context Root: /flex
when I clicl Validate Configuration.. this is the error I get Invalid root. The WEB-INF/flex folder must contain either flex-config.xml or services-config.xml.
I can't understand what is going wrong here....any ideas....
Thanks for the Help.....
ThanksRun the wizard, select ColdFusion as the server technology, but don't
check the option to use remote object access service. Then, open the
project properties dialog, go to the Flex Compiler page, and add a the
compiler flag: -services
"C:\ColdFusion8\wwwroot\WEB-INF\flex\services-config.xml" (obviously
changing the path as appropriate). This flag is what gets set by the
wizard when you opt to use Flash Remoting. -http://www.feed-squirrel.com/index.cfm?evt=viewItem&ID=77732
Above is a work-around/solution that was successful for me. Below are screen shots of how I initially configured the project, following the above solution.
In the image above, notice how I didn't tick the "Use remote object access service" checkbox.
For the image below, the 'Y:\' value is a mapped network directory to my server (IIS) webroot, which is "\\windowsserver/Inetpub/wwwroot/". Root URL is the name of my server. Fill in the fields with correct values and hit finish.
Then navigate ( Project>Properties>Flex Compiler ) to this project's 'Flex Compiler context menu.
And 'W:\' is another mapped network directory that points obviously to my Coldfusion's WEB-INF\flex.
I hope that this helps. As you may see, I'm hoping that this will help you and others that are likely to come across problem. -

i found the solution in this thread: http://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=901911
I close JDev and rename the system folder in my application data. Start JDev again and run the sample.
Kind regards,

Why do you need to go about linking to services-config.xml in your flex compiler
Why do you need to go about linking to services-config.xml in
your flex compiler when you want to do remoting. It just seems like
a complicated way to do things.Yeah I find this perplexing as well. I'm guessing it has something to do with Opalis origins perhaps.
Would be good to understand why. -

Add new user-agent info to the sample services-config.xml file.
Modified Paths:
blazeds/trunk/resources/config/services-config.xmlResolved! The problem was in the php code the wizard had generated as an example and that I had edited in Dreamweaver. I had tried to start a session and set session objects in the php code. I developed if() { statements} to check the session variable before executing the function in some of my data services. Apparently the wizard does not like this. I removed all references to session. I reconfigured the input types and the return types for each service. With the code now clean the wizard created the example code and placed the proper package in the scr.services package. I still have custom php code and it executes.
Things I learned:
If the php code stops when a session variable is not available in the if statement and the data service is refreshed, the wizard will not "look" beyond the if statement.
Functions downstream of a session variable misshap will show in the data services window but the functions will have a circle icon to the left of the function name and each variable to be passed to the php code will be declared as type = Object in Flashbuilder. The input types and return types will have to be reconfigured for each non-functioning function. Simply commenting out a portion of the php code and attempting a refresh will not make it work again.
When the wizard is unable to refresh properly because of a stop in the php code it stops working completely so additional refreshes or creation of code is not carried out.
I decided to create a My SQL table for user and other identifiers rather than attempting the session object again.
Sorry, I did not make screen shots as I solved this problem. I hope the solution is not hard to visualize.
Thanks for looking and considering how to help me. I hope my solution works for you. -

Trying to determine if we need the Java stack for ERP 6.0 upgrade
An issue we have regarding our research of a potential ERP upgrade to 6.0 has to do with the potential requirement to add the Java stack to the WAS engine that support our ERP. This appears significant due to the impact on infrastructure requirements and operational support. Based on the master guide for ERP 6.0, it appears that the following components would require the Java stack or usage type AS-Java:
- Biller Direct 6.0
- Learning Solution LSO (CP) 600
- ESS/MSS -- XSS 6.0
- Extended E-selling Components, XECO 5.0
- Enterprise Portal Content for Business Packages
- XI Content, Elster 2.0
Is this the complete list? Will other components of ERP or ehp's require the Java stack in the future? How likely is it that the Java stack will become a requirement for us to support ERP?
Thanks,
ThomasYes, this is correct if Java Stack is already install but I understand from the question that they do not have Java installed already so if they plan to go to ECC 6.0 ABAP Stack they won´t need to install Java stack before or after upgrade.
They only need to do it´s upgrade to Abap stack to ECC 6.0 and in fact if actual 4.7 is non unicode they won´t need to make it unicode before or after either, just when installing ECC 6.0 SR3 then Unicode is the only way to intall it.
