SAP Portal - Service Timeout after 30min from ERP Backend

Hello SCN Members,
actually i have a problem with our Enterprise Portal. We have some Employee Self Services running in SAP Portal with connection to a SAP ERP ABAP Backend. After 30 minutes of inactivity, the User click to a Service, he became a http/500, connection timeout.
i found the errormessage in SM21 in ABAP Backend "HTTP/RFC-Session wurde nach Timeout gelöscht" (HTTP Session deleted after timeout)
at the ABAP Backend i set the ICF Parameters to and restart the whole system (QS):
icm/server_port[0] = PROT=HTTP, PORT=8080,TIMEOUT=28800
icm/server_port[1] = PROT=SMTP, PORT=8025
icm/server_port[2] = PROT=HTTPS,PORT=8083,TIMEOUT=28800
rdisp/plugin_auto_logout = 28800
But the error occurs after 30min, now i have no more idea, which parameters i need to change.
Can you help me?

thank's for your answer, at the webdispatcher are the settings as follow, but there is still a timeout after 1800 seconds of inactivity

and

I was trying the "How to BI JAVA SDK in a Portal iView and get the following error.
The project was not built since its classpath is incomplete. Cannot find the class file for com.sap.portal.services.api.connectorgateway.IConnectorGatewayService. Fix the classpath and try rebuilding this project.
I have the following in my portalapp.xml file
<property name="SharingReference" value="com.sap.portal.ivs.connectorservice"/>
and i have also added the jar file "com.sap.portal.ivs.connectorservice_api" in the set of lib's
Has some faced a similar issue? or can someone suggest how I could possibly resolve this.

My webdynpro dc was build failed for "This compilation unit indirectly references the missing type com.sap.engine.services.webservices.espbase.client.dynamic.content.GenericObject (typically some required class file is referencing a type outside the classpath)".

CFFTP putFile timeouts after upgrading from ColdFusion 8 to ColdFusion 9.01
Important thing to mention is that Coldfusion 9.01 is 32bit and is installed on Windows Server 2008 which is 64 bit off course.
When I try on ColdFusion 9.01 32 bit version that is installed on xp 32 bit everithing works fine.
Any Idea how this can be fixed ?

SAP Portal Inactivity Timeout

I would like to request your help regarding the following topic:
I'm trying to find the inactivity timeout parameter for SAP Portal. We will like to update this parameter to 15min, which means that after 15min of inactivity the system will request the user sign in again. Thank you for your help or any material you guys understand will be helpful.

Open Shopping Cart from ERP Backend

How can i open a shopping cart with the shopping cart number?. Can i open the shopping cart per URL?

Hi,
erp users should be able to open the shopping cart with one click from sap gui me53n.
At the moment, they have to copy the shopping cart number and then open the SAP Portal and search for the shopping cart. This is not very userfriendly.
Can i use any remote function in srm calling from the erp?
I´m surprised that nobody else needs such as feature!

Device Page Service Error after updating from 2.8.0 to 2.8.2

Hi all,
today, I updated my demo server ZENworks MDM from the version 2.8.0 to the version 2.8.2. After this update i cannot display users and devices in dashboard. When i click on the Users tab, i`m getting the error: "Device Page Service Error. Unable to complete operation. If this error persists, please contact ZENworks Technical Support." But I`m able to login as user to the self service portal and also i see my user and his device in the Activity Monitor.
Please, how can i solve this issue?

Oracle Portal not working after upgrading from 1.0.2 to 1.0.2.1

Hi All,
Previously I had
9iAS : 1.0.2.0.0
Portal: 3.0.7.6.2
OS: Win NT
and I upgraded to
9iAS: 1.0.2.1.0
Portal: 3.0.8 (using scripts)
Now the scenario is
I can access: Apache, Servlet(IsItWorking) and JSP samples. But now I can't access Oracle portal (ie http://host:port/pls/portal30/). Even Login Server is coming properly (ie http://host:port/pls/portal30_sso/)
There was no errors during upgrade scripts. Also I check the portal30 schema for invalid objects. But there were no invalid objects in that schema.
According to me, all the modules of apache are working only except mod plsql and so i can not access Portal. It gives misconfiguration error from apache. So what can be the problem??
Any ideas in this.

There was an issue reported on this upgrade having to do with multiple entries in the Apache configuration files. Check your .conf files for duplicate entries.

Web services problem after restoring from time machine!

I am getting this message every time i reload or log in to the wiki pages created on the snow leopard server after i have restored from time machine due to hard drive problems.
*The versions of the server and UI don’t match.*
*Try clicking Reload; if that doesn't work,*
*please make sure both server components are up-to-date.*
*Client: WikiServerUI-200*
*Server: WikiServerUI-198*
Anyone have a clue how to fix this issue?
I tried to restore/restart/update/....
Nothing worked....
Please elaborate as much as possible if you have any idea how to get rid of this nasty pop up every time you browse between pages or different wikis.

I've the problem as well. When visiting my wiki-server I always get this popup message:
The versions of the server and UI don’t match. Try clicking Reload; if that doesn't work, please make sure both server components are up-to-date.
Client: WikiServerUI-198
Server: WikiServerUI-200
After a harddisk replacement I restored the server installation from TimeMachine back to the harddisk. From thereon I have the problem.
What is the problem exactly and how can I get rid off that message?

Webservice from Portal Service - Import Param of WebService Method Error

I have developed a portal service and after that I created a portal web service from that portal service... If I use a String variable for the import parameter of my webservice method everything works fine! But if I us a custom class for the im port parameter of the method I get an soap error when I call the webservice!
Error:

I personally didn't create a web service by this description however. I just created a normal Java class and created a Web Service out of this class (using EAR deployment).

SSO and Portal down after upgrade from AS 10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.2.3

SSO and Portal is down after upgrade from AS 10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.2.3. All others are running fine. Any similiar experience and solution?

cn=XXX information is missing for the SSO Server (orasso) when going to http://servername:7777/pls/orasso/orasso.home. Is that causing the problem? If so, how can I resolve it?

Beginner in SAP Portal

Hi all :
I am a beginner in SAP Portal, truely speaking in the whole SAP domain. I just graduated last year and worked for 1 year in core Java and VB development. In my new job, I have to deal with all ERP/SAP stuffs.
My first responsibility is to learn SAP Enterprise Portal for the time being. Though I know it's a part of the SAP NetWeaver product suite, my understanding is to learn the Portal I really dont need to learn the core SAP R/3 right now ( but definitely yes in the long run ) as it says Portal can also be implemented to handle/manipulate non-SAP data. I am mainly interested to learn development using SAP Portal ( eg. a dynamic website with a backend MSSQL server
So my question is what's the good starting point for a beginner like me? I did have a look at the help.sap.com website but got bit confused. It starts directly with the assumption that I have got the necessary softwares/servers/studios installed. So just wondering what's the best starting point for me to start from the scratch in order to learn Portal? Also are there books for beginners to learn development in Portal?

Multi SAP ECC Server Connection to Single SAP Portal

Dear Experts,
We have connected multiple SAP Client of same ECC server to Single SAP Portal and we are able to view data using various standard SAP ESS/MSS Objects.
Is it feasible to connect Multiple SAP ECC Servers to one SAP Portal Server for showing data from varios servers using Standard ESS/MSS Objects.
Any help appreciated.

You are right....these are the JCO names being picked up by standard ESS/MSS applications.
The Standar DCs will be calling these JCO names only while connecting to the SAP Server.
As you described,
The portal do have system alias name as unique name.
You may need to use some customizations.....plz find the below threads...they may be of your help.

How do i download com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak

I need to download com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak
From what i understand, If you have the System administration privilege then you can download the par file from "System Administration"==>"Support"==>"Support Desk"==>"Portal Runtime"==>"Browse deployment"==>"ROOT"==>"WEB-INF"==>"deployment"==>"pcd"
I was able to navigate this way. However, i cannot find this logon.par under this directory structure.
In help.sap.com, i was told to Navigate to <J2EE_Engine_Instance>\j2ee\cluster\server<X>\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd .There you can find com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak.
How is this different from the earlier navigation? I don't know how to do this? How exactly do i navigate this way?

I am sure that in the follwoing path, u can find the
com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak

MAke a copy of the PAR and u can Pull it into the NetStudio !!!!

You can check your Portal Service running status in Service Configuration.
System Administration->System Configuration->Service Configuration got to your Application. Right chick and selection Administration. You can check it and Change its status.
