DO NOT BUY HP LASERJET ALL IN ONE PRINTERS

just sent the following letter to the CEO as a final attempt. Dont know what else to do
Dear Mr Hurd,
I hope you will read through my email as I am a very frustrated hp customer. I bought a HP laserject 1522nf printer a few months ago it worked fine for couple of months and  i have been experiencing a great deal of problem with this printer. I have been given a run around by your support staff for past so many days that I finally decided to escalate the matter and address it to you. Each one of them told me that they will escalate to next level and no one has been able to give me a clear answer.
i do not want to waste your time by explaining my entire set of issues i am having with your support staff but i thouht before i file a formal complaint in consumer court i should make a last attempt.
Following are the list of people i have spoken to in your support staff and the issue with my printer has still not been resolved.
 1) Chris
2) Navarro, Oscar (IPG-CR AIO Supervisor)
3) Saenz, Jorge Antonio
4) K B, Vinod (SSOC)
5) Praveen Girhotra
6) Shirley in customer service.
Today 05/13/09 after speaking to  Praveen Girhotra <text deleted> I asked them to send me a formal email explaining that they could not resolve my issue and i had to hear a long lecture from him as to how the warranty process works and i do not have any other choice but to spend time with your support staff as long as they want.
I bought this printer for printing documents not sit with your support staff wasting my time. I am sure i am not even a drop in an ocean of customers you have and my business does not even matter to hp and I hope that asking you for help in this issue will make some difference in getting my printer work

  • Windows Vista 64 bit and HP 2840 Color LaserJet All-In-One - Workaround

Although HP has not provided a workable solution for a use of a HP 2840 Color LaserJet All-In-One with Windows Vista 64 bit, I did manage to get it to work. The solution is a bit convoluted and may not work for all users but here’s how I did it. I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 bit. Not sure how other Vista versions may behave.
I tried many different solutions that did not work. Attempting to install many different versions of the HP 2840 software in different compatibility modes ended up rendering my other HP 4385 All-In-One inoperative.  I deleted every piece of HP software and hardware from my system and reinstalling the HP 4385 software. Still couldn’t get my 4385 working again. I finally ended up restoring my system to restore point prior to attempting to install the HP 2840. All this to say that if you’ve made several attempts to get it working you may need to back up and punt with a restore.
Make sure your HP 2840 is NOT connected.
Press the “Scan” button on the 2840 (The control panel on the 2840 should say ‘Waiting on PC”).
Plug the HP 2840 in via a USB cable. A “New hardware” message should pop up on the PC.
Minimize this window. DO NOT MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TO INSTALL DRIVERS. Just ignore this message for the moment.
In Windows, go to CONTROL PANEL/SCANNERS AND CAMERAS. Hopefully you’ll see a “HP 2840 LaserJet Scanner”. If not, the rest will probably not work.
Now hit the "Windows Start" button. Select "Programs" or "All Programs" (depending on your setup configuration). Open "Windows Fax Scan". It should connect to the 2840 Scanner. Experiment with the scanner and select flatbed and feeder input  to make sure it functions properly. Once satisfied that the scanner is working properly you can configure the printer.
On the “New Hardware Detected” window that you minimized in step 4, select “Do Not Ask Me Again For This Hardware”.
Connect the 2840 to your network via a CAT cable.
On your PC press the "Windows Start" button and select “Settings and Printers”.
    Select “Add a Printer”.
    Select “Add a Network Printer”.
Windows will scan your network searching for printers. It should find your 2840.
Select “Next” (It is not necessary to let the search complete once your 2840 has been identified).
From the dropdown list, select ‘HP” and “HP Universal Printing PCL 6". It was the last one in the list for me.
    Print a test page
You should now have a HP 2840 network printer and a local 2840 scanner.
O course the drawback is that you can only scan to the PC where the 2840 scanner is attached via the USB cable. You can print from any PC on your network by following steps 9 through 15 on each network PC.
Another little tidbit I ran into; selecting any other driver besides the “HP Universal Printing PCL 6" driver cause my Microsoft Office 2007 to crash any time I selected the "Save As" option. I found some links on the Internet that indicate this is a known problem. It may not affect you but you might want to play it safe.
    Hope this helps someone.

Uninstall the HP software using the uninistaller in the HP folder.
    Restart your PC.
Get the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page.

  • Looking to Buy a New All-In-One Printer

I am looking to buy a new all-in-one Printer.
I have been using the Epson RX620 for a little over a year and have had great print results. Unfortunately I get a warning message yesterday that the printer needs servicing and nothing will work. After getting much less than desirable results from their Customer Support I am moving away from Epson, after three different Epson printers.
I have heard many good things about Canon printers. We will be printing bunches and bunches of photos(two small daughters + graphic artist wife = many, many photos). I am presently looking at the Canon MP600. Any goods or bads about said printer?
We do want a printer that can use cheap cartridges so HP is out of the question. Any other recommendations is appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your replies.
    Nick

The only thing that ****** me off about Epson is that they shut down their toll free phone tech support!
I had to rely on their email support to set up my new Epson printer (CD/DVD loading tray) which wasn't so bad as it was very detailed & hands on. I just couldn't understand their manual. I was having one of my "senior moment" days.
Those Canon printers are handsome! I almost ended up getting one. But, the Epson printers won because they are the only ones who can print directly on CD/DVDs & all the software is included.

  • My wireless keyboard and mouse do not work on my All-In-One computer?

Q.: My wireless keyboard and mouse do not work on my All-In-One computer?
A.: If your wireless keyboard and mouse do not work even after changing the batteries, please try re-syncing them by following these steps.
    1. Make sure the computer is on, plug in the USB receiver. Push the button on the USB receiver until it flashes blue.
    2. While the receiver is still flashing, press the red connect button on the keyboard (Make sure the batteries are installed). The USB receiver should stop flashing after pressing the button on the keyboard. It may take up to 8 seconds to sync.
    3. Repeat the same process for the mouse. Push the button on the USB receiver, then press the connect button on the mouse (Make sure the mouse is on).
Note: This applies to all MSI All-In-One computers that include the ES500W wireless keyboard and SW130 mouse.

"This machine has an added 4 USB ports, could this be causing a problem?
It definitely could be the source of the problem. Perhaps the PCI card was bumped loose during shipping?
Have you tried removing the card? That's where I would start.
    Keep us posted.

What version of OS X are you using? If it's recent (Snow Leopard or Lion), almost all the newest all-in-one printers (regardless of brands and models) are compatible with both Windows (XP and over) and OS X. Finding a network-operated (or shared) printer could prove more difficult, of course.
Now, buying one in an Apple Store is another matter, first because I'm not sure you can find printers there (I may be wrong, and it may depend on how big the Apple Store is; I don't remember seeing any in the Paris Apple Stores I went to, namely at the Louvres and near the Opera), and second because you're bound to pay a lot more for one in an Apple Store than in, say, a department store or an electronics retailer.
    Here's a little food for thought: http://www.macbroadband.co.uk/mac-compatible/best-printers-for-apple-macs/

  • All in One Printers for AE?

I've just returned to the Mac world after years with Windows. I've spent many hours trying to get an older HP printer to work with both XP SP2 desktop and wireless with my new MacBook Pro. It did work, but with some issues after research on this forum. However, when upgrading to Leopard, I lost the ability to print from the MacBook.
The printer is old, so I thought I'd just buy a new printer that is compatible with Airport Extreme. However, both Lexmark and HP only list discontinued printers as compatible with AE. Does anyone know if there are any new All in One printers that will work with AE? Or is the best solution to buy something that I hook up to the desktop and then print from the MacBook by sharing the printer? I only need to print wirelessly through the All-in-One. I don't use the scanner, but need to fax and copy occasionally.
    Thanks!!!

    Hook48 wrote:
It doesn't seem to me that I can find any printers that are current to buy that are compatible with AE. Is this correct?
It's not as though they are not compatible, it's more no one has either updated the manufacturers' lists or has tested and asked for it to be added to the unofficial list.
Some of the low end HP AIO (all-in-one) printers will only work though the USB port of an Airport base station through the use of third party drivers, and usually the P1000 PhotoSmart driver which (for some people) does not allow for good printing results.
You are either best to connect the AIO to a specific computer or purchase an AIO which either has an ethernet connection or is wireless.

  • Are there any new All-in-one printers for sale that use the CLI-221 cartridges?

We have a MX870 Printer that needs to be replaced but new cartridges were just purchased from Canon.  Are there any new All-in-one printers for sale that use the CLI-221 cartridges?
    Thanks,

The MX922 (known as the MX926 in Australia) is supported by 10.10 and Windows 7. Whatever site you were looking at may not have updated their details. Here is a link from the Canon Australia web site showing the drivers and applications for this model for 10.10.

What all-in-one printers work with Lion?

    kennethfromtoronto wrote:
For Lion installation the recommendation was not to use the drivers on the included disk, but to download them directly from the Epson support site. I managed to install with no difficulties. Now the NX430 is working seamlessly with 15" MBP (Lion, 10.7.2); 13" MBP (Snow Leopard, 10.6.8); 27" iMac (Snow Leopard, 10.6.8); 15" Dell (Win7). I am sorry to hear that it did not work for you.
Ditto, most Printer/scanner manufacturers are getting up to date with Lion compatable drivers now. Most are available from their websites. Some still want to install old scanner software which is PPC so will have to downgrade to SL again, because they won't look for Lion compatable software. I find VueScan still an excellant program which works fine with my 3 yr old Cannon Pixma.

  • Trying to install multiple All in One Printers on new laptop

Got a new HP Envy laptop running Windows 8.1.   Replacing old HP running XP.  Trying to install two HP All in One printers on my home wireless network  HP 6500 E709n and a HP 7410.  I am stuck in an infinte loop using the HP Print and Scan Doctor.  I load up one printer Driver using the downloads on the website.  When I go to load the other printer, the system won't let me continue until I uninstall the previous printer driver and accessy software.
Anyone know how to get around it?

    Hello again,
Thanks for getting back to me!
Next, I would suggest uninstalling all of the printer software on your computer, performing a clean boot and then reinstalling the OJ 7410 first and then the OJ 6500. Here are the steps and links in order for you.

  • Faxing from all-in-one printers

    Hi,
Has anyone setup SAP faxing via those all-in-one printers?
A typical example is to fax PO to vendors.  The vendor fax number can be setup as part of the vendor info.
Does it mean that I set the fax (printer) as a printer in SPAD?
What else should I do to set it up?
    Thanks

You can't just set it up as a fax... you need a fax server in order to send faxes  (I.E. Rightfax)... basically the way it works is that you create a node in SCOT for faxes and send the data to the fax server via SMTP and the fax server deliver the fax to your hardware.
    Check the SMTP guide,

  • Anyone using a Laserjet All-In-One on an Intel Mac?

I just got an HP Laserjet 2820 all in one unit (scanner, printer, copier) for use with my MacBook Pro. My main reason for going with this model was the automatic document feeder (ADF) that allows me to put a stack of documents in and automatically create a multi-page pdf.
The problem I'm having is this: When I create pdf files, they are coming out too light. The only way to fix this is to scan all the pages of the document one at a time, adjust the contrast setting, and then scan all the pages again.
I also have a Canon Scanner (no ADF though) and it allows me to do a quick preview of a document (for contrast, etc.) and then saves these settings until I do a preview again. The result is that all subsequent pages use the optimized settings for that kind of document (pages of text with some figures) from then on.
The HP 2820 also doesn't seem to have any way to scan only part of an image (ie. a single picture on a full page). Am I missing something here?
I'm wondering if the device is not yet Intel compatible. The HP support department isn't any help.
    Help, please?!

Not that swift in the Apple world, I use a calibration puck for my screen and IT8 profiles for devices to calibrate my workflow on Windows PCs. Haven't done that YET on my Apples. What I can tell you is that the help files that show up are usually helpful in explaining how to use the utility. I noticed that when I did calibrate my screen on my iMac core duo, it wanted me to use the 1.8 standard Gamma. All my reference material and training states to use 2.2 and 6500 Kelvin for true calibration. That being said, I would only look at the HP device in the utility, make some changes, and see if it fixes your issues. If it doesn't, I'm sure there is a way to set everything back to default settings. If there isn't, just jot down where you are before making any changes. If you have calibrated your screen, the rest should be easier to adjust. If not, I feel you will be all over the board as far as settings for each device, as you don't have a standard appearance to work from when making adjustments. Good luck!

  • PDFs will not print on HP All-In-One C309a

PDF files and only PDF files will not print on my HP Photosmart Premium All-In-One C309a. I can not print PDFs that are online or that are on my hard-drive. I sometimes use the 'print to XPS file utility' and then open and print the XPS file with no problem.
When I try to print a PDF file, the printer makes all the noises it makes when printing normally, but does not print. The viewing winding says "Now Printing", a piece of paper cues up, the audio cue plays meaning job completed and eventually a blank piece of paper comes out.
I am using Windows XP with Service Pack 3.

Is your printer still in warranty? You can check with HP's warranty tool here.
The printheads in the Photosmart 6510 are not removable.  I will ask to have an HP support agent to look in on this thread, they may be able to suggest some further troubleshooting.
