Do transport acknowledgement work for HTTP ?
hi all,
I'm posting an HTTP in a BPM scenario.I've put mode as transport in send step.
However in SXMB_moni its showing,ack not possible.
I've searched and it seems ack is possible for HTTP.
can anyone tell why i am getting the error?
When you say you use the Transport ACK functionality of the BPM-Send step what you do is you ask for a ack status from the adapter Engine....but according to the functionality both IDOC and HTTP adapter do not use AE....so when you demand for an ACK for your HTTP send step you wont get it....why? the message does not pass through AE (can you see/ monitor it in RWB?).....So Transport Ack for send step in HTTP communication wont help you..
I just want to know that HTTP was posted successfully.
Is there a way to achieve that usign BPM (transport ack)?
Make the Send step in your BPM synchronous and put it in a block.....define an exception branch and put the logic that you want to implement if the send fails.....if successful then put a COntrol Step (Cancel Process) after the Sync Send.....
If you say to me implement the Transport Ack...then it will be my last option.....I am implementing the above method of checking success/ failure in my project (the adapter is SOAP)......
Regards,
Abhishek.

How the balance works for http/https in CSS?
I want to understand how the balance works for http/https in the CSS.
As per doc,
- http/1.0=single URL per TCP connection
- http/1.1=persistent connection.
Q1. my understanding is http is stateless connection so needs TCP session for each URL. how the http/1.1 works with persistent. keep the same TCP session for a multiple URL request?
Q2. https is using single URL and continue processing until terminate the https instead of open another URL in the middle of transaction. in this case, I think the client can stick into same service based on the assumption the CSS support persistent. if then, no advanced sticky(ex, srcip) required?
Q3. looks below both are analogy. what's difference between them?
- balance srcip(same src IP to the same service)
- advanced-balance sticky-srcip
Q4. what's balance decision mechanism for "balance roundrobin" to distribute evenly? ex, in case of multiple URL request coming from same client. evenly distribute URLs?
Regards,Hello,
first let me clarify 1 point.
HTTP/HTTPS are standards that are defined in RFC.
For HTTP/1.1 you can check the following RFC
http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc2616.html
Therefore, the behavior of HTTP 1.1 is not defined by the CSS.
Q1- HTTP/1.1 simply keeps 1 TCP connection to send a received mutiplie HTTP request/response.
HTTP/1.0 will open 1 TCP connection for every HTTP request.
Q2- HTTPS is just HTTP over SSL.
So basically the same rule as above applies.
HTTP/1.1 can use 1 SSL connection for many HTTP request/response while HTTP/1.0 will use 1 SSL connection for each HTTP request.
Therefore, if you have customer using HTTP/1.0 you need some form of stickyness to guarantee that every connections will go to the same server.
Even if only using HTTP/1.1 you may need stickyness.
A user could disconnect and reconnect and require to be loadbalanced to the same server as before.
Q3- There is a big different between balance srcip and sticky-srcip.
The balance srcip simply hash the source ip address to find the destination server.
The problem of this method is that the loadbalancing is not guarantee to be evenly distributed between the servers.
With sticky-srcip, you use a normal balance method like round-robin, and then you create a sticky entry in a sticky table.
Next time this user comes back we first check the sticky entry to find the destination server.
The advantage is that it guarantess your users will be evenly distributed among the server.
Q4- roundrobin is applied to connection - not url [by default].
So if you have 2 users and they both open 1 connection, the CSS will send 1 connection to 2 different servers.
So each server has 1 connection.
If one user sens 10 URL and the other 1 sends only 1, one server will have 10 url to process while the other only one.
That's if you are using HTTP/1.1 and use persistent mode on the CSS.
You can break persistency and split the url.
I run out of space and time to explain you everything.
I suggest you go read the RFC or a book on HTTP.
Also read the CSS configuration guide.
There is much more you need to know if you want to take full advantage of the CSS like cookie, ssl offloading, L7 rules vs L3/4 rules, ...

Gilles. -
I am on a Windows 7 Ultimate PC and right now there is no Airport utility for setting up the new Apple Extreme so you have to do it on your iPad or iPhone. Does anyone know how to set up port forwarding for HTTP to get to DVR security cameras? There is nothing in the list that indicates HTTP port forwarding.
Thanks for your reply Tesserax as I did figure this out on my own. It took a bit because all of the options are not clear what they are for like the previous Airport Extreme and Apple does not support or guarantee that port forwarding will work for you application nor did any of the Apple support persons I spoke too have any knowledge for this feature. You also have to fill in the public if you are viewing through someone else's Wi-Fi or on your cell phone carrier network. This new Airport Extreme is a bit different since you cannot use the Airport utility on a PC like the older model and if anyone else is reading this they should be aware that if you do not have an Apple computer, iPhone or iPad and I'm not sure if some of the other network enabled devices like iPod Touch that you must use that can do it, there is no Airport utility for the PC and you would be wasting your money or have to take it back and get another brand wireless router to use if you do not own any of the above mentioned Apple products.

Search works for HTTP but not for HTTPS on site
Hi
Both the http & https url works and you can browse the team site just fine. Search for HTTP url works fine, but fails for the https url. You get a "Sorry something went wrong" and "Unknown error". Also get the following
errors in ULS logs: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" and this used to work 100% before.
Things tried thus far include: Clearing the blobcache; clearing config cache; deleting and re-adding the alternate access mapping for HTTPS; checked certificate and bindings on all servers in the farm for site.
2013 Farm Environment: SharePoint 2013 SP1 with 2 web frontends & 2 App servers on Server2012 using SQL2012 failover Cluster

WRT160N Website Access Restrictions won't work for https sites
I have successfully configured a website blocking access policy that blocks http:\\www.facebook.com on a WRT160N V1 v1.02.2. I did this by entering www.facebook.com as URL #1 and "facebook" as a keyword and it works great. However, I have found that this policy does not block https:\\www.facebook.com. You would think the keyword would be able to block this but it doesn't work. Please help.
Solved!
Go to Solution.Was there a solution to blocking https://facebook........?
I've entered the http and the https url, in additon facebook as keywords. When doing a search for facebook it's blocked and doesn't retrieve anything. When typing in the http url it doesn't retrieve anything, but once i add that S to the http it pops up.
Has anyone found a solution to blocking https/facebook? -
Transport Acknowledgement for HTTP adapter
Hi all,
I have the following Integration Process (BPM) defined.
I receive a RFC Message from R/3 in XI. The RFC message is put into a BPM scenario. It then waits for a second message to arrive which belongs to the first. Then i have to send the two messages in order (first the 1st message, then the second). These messages are both Asynchron. To make sure the messages are sent in correct order, i put the send steps in separate blocks and i request a transport acknowledgement. The message is written with a file adapter to a directory. This is on the testing environment and (as far as i can see now) working correct, because the send step is waiting for the acknowledgement and then going to process the second message.
Now in the production system we do not send the message to a file, but to another system using the HTTP adapter. I cannot test this in any other system, so my question is: <b>Can i use the Transport Acknowledgement with the HTTP adapter in the production system to make sure the messages are delivered in correct order???</b>
Or do i have to do other things?
Thanks in advance!
Marcel LeeraarHi,
Considering that HTTP adapters also support transport ack's, I dont think this should be a problem and it should work just as it did with file adapters.

BP Transport Acknowledgement problem...
Hi,
In, XI3.0 stack 11, Business process have two SEND STEPs one for PO and another one for GI and the required condition is GI idoc should get posted only after posting PO idoc.
As of now I have put transport acknowledgement in the first send step so that once all PO idocs are sent to r/3 then only the second SEND step will post the GI idocs.
But transport acknowledgement works only if I keep refreshing the sxmb_moni. If I drop a file and not opening the sxmb_moni for say one hour or one day the second SEND step is not getting processed. Only if I click refresh or open the sxmb_moni again, it is processing the next send step and post the GI idoc.
Could any one help me to resolve the strange behaviour of transport acknowledgement? Is sxmb_moni something to do with getting any acknowledgement? What is happening in the background while refeshing the sxmb_moni?
thanks,
sasikumarWhen copying systems, you should never copy one system alone, but always CRM and ECC at the same time. Since both are closely coupled and both contain tables, in which it is described which kunnr is mapped to which CRM GUID, it is without alot of effort and deep middleware knowledge not possible to reactivate the data exchange properly. But even then you have to make sure that in both systems either the same partner numbers do not already exist or clear one system from all existing partners. Some of these mapping tables are i.e. CRMM_BUT_CUSTNO and CRMM_BUT_CONTNO, which contain the mapping information that is now obsolete. Usually these tables should be the same in CRM and ECC (and the data also), but in your case this is not true unfortunately. Even an initial download does not help as this is looking at these tables.
Alternatively if you make a customizing client copy of the CRM this new client can be connected to the ECC much easier as you do not have to remove data from the client. However, of course you still need to make an initial DNL.
Hope this helps, Kai -
OC4J JSP Debugging not working for all the jsps
Hi,
Initially I was not able to debug jsps using Eclipse and OC4J. The jsp debugging started working once I made the below changes:
1) global-web-application.xml is modified
Changed the attribute development="true" in orion-web-app
Added the below init param for the JspServlet
<init-param>
<param-name>debug</param-name>
<param-value>class</param-value>
</init-param>
If the jsps are present in a sub directory under the webcontent none of the breakpoints are working. I am still be able to view the jsp pages on the browser.
Tools: Oracle 10g Application Server Standalone version(10.1.3.5.0), JDK5, Windows XP, Eclipse Indigo
Project Structure:
Test (Eclipse Dynamic Web Project)
-WebContent
Sample.jsp ( Breakpoints are working)
-subF (Folder)
SubSample.jsp (Breakpoints are not working)
-WEB-INF
web.xml
Debugging worked for http://localhost:8888/Test/Sample.jsp
Debugging not working for http://localhost:8888/Test/subF/SubSample.jsp
Any help is highly appreciated.

DannyThis tells there is not enough main memory (not disk space) for the program to run.
- You can look the dump in ST22, it will have suggestions on increasing the ROLLAREA??, you can forward that to Basis.
- Most likely you will not have any more memory to assign so the above may not be feasible. Try to rework your query so it works with less data. -
How long BPM wait for an transport acknowledgement
I have a send step with transport acknowledgement. When receiver system is not available adapter tries 3 times to deliver a message but my BPM has still a status "in work".
How long BPM wait for an transport acknowledgement? Can I configure it? Will this BPM cunsume system resorces?
What is the best strategy for work with transport acknowledgement?> You can add a deadline branch
I don't like this approach... because I can change amount of attempts and period. My BPM will be stopped but message could be delivered later... It will be diffucult to support dedline period in all business process -
Only HTTPS requests are working for SOAP Sender and HTTP not working
wHi Experts,
We have enabled our HTTPS port ( SSL ) in NWA -- >> Security -- >> SSL and Key stores. So understanding is HTTPS port is now enabled on top of HTTP. So PI should be able to cater requests at both ports.
Now, we have developed a synchronous SOAP to RFC scenario and downloaded WSDL file. This file has both links -
a. http:<host>:<port>
b. https:<host>:<port>
We intend to make a PI system where both ports can work. Now questions.
1. When we test web service exposed from PI using SOAPUI tool, only HTTPS works fine and gets the response back. If we try HTTP URL, an error is encountered - HTTTPS scheme is required.
2. Is this whole understanding that both ports ( HTTP, HTTPS ) should be able to operate simultaneously correct ? Or this is not at all possible ?
3. In SOAP Sender, we tried selecting all 3 options - 1. HTTP 2. HTTPS without client authentication 3. HTTPS with client authentication.
None of the options have any effect on testing, Each time, only HTTPS request works and HTTP doesn't.
Can anyone please provide some hints for troubleshooting ?
Thanks..

Rajagopal.The error "HTTPS scheme is required" is normally returned when the HTTP Security Level on the SOAP adapter is not set to "HTTP". I can see you have mentioned you have tried all these, maybe a cache refresh has gone wrong? Could try recreating the channel with just HTTP specified as security level and this should allow HTTP or HTTPS
I assume you are using a different port number for your HTTP and HTTPS requests from SOAP UI. Normally the HTTPS port is the same as the HTTP port number but the final zero changed to a 1 i.e. https://<host>:50001 instead of http://<host>:50000.
You should be able to confirm both HTTP and HTTPS work OK by loading some of the system webpages in a browser over HTTP and over HTTPS i.e. http://<host>:<port>/nwa and https://<host>:<port>/nwa

Http_utl.text_write for http 'POST" does not work
i have a proc that uses utl_http code I have seen all over on web sites for 'POST'ing to a REST web service ..... i use utl_http.write_text to write data to the request body but no data gets written ...... below are the code segments I use
url entered directly into browser that **works fine**: http://www.media.com/admintool/Services.aspx?par_string=[{ "PAR_Transaction_Id" : 5566338, "MRI_Title_Name" : "4 Wheel & Off Road"}]
calling routine:
declare
l_url varchar2 (300) := 'http://www.media.com/admintool/Services.aspx';
l_data clob;
l_query varchar2(32767);
begin
dbms_output.enable(3000000);
l_data := '[{
"PAR_Transaction_Id" : 5566338,
"MRI_Title_Name" : "4 Wheel & Off Road"}]
http_util_pkg.http_post(
p_url_in => l_url, p_data_in => l_data);
end;
called routine segment:
l_http_req := utl_http.begin_request (p_url_in, 'POST');
-- Set the HTTP request headers
utl_http.set_header(l_http_req, 'User-Agent', 'Mozilla/4.0');
utl_http.set_header(l_http_req, 'content-type', p_data_type);
utl_http.set_header(l_http_req, 'content-length', v_length);
-- Write the data to the body of the HTTP request
utl_http.write_text(l_http_req, 'par_string=');
while v_index <= v_length
loop
utl_http.write_text(l_http_req, substr(p_data_in, v_index, 4000));
dbms_output.put_line ('data = ' || substr(p_data_in, v_index, 4000));
v_index := v_index + 4000;
end loop;
results .... you can see below that the header content length is non-zero but the response header says there is no content, so something is haywire with the write_text method
url = http://www.media.com/admintool/Services.aspx
length in data = 1271
http package; url = http://www.media.com/admintool/Services.aspx
after set authentication
after write headers
data = [{
"PAR_Transaction_Id" : 5566338,
"MRI_Title_Name" : "4 Wheel & Off Road"}]
after write text
status code: 200
reason phrase: OK
Connection: close
Date: Tue, 06 Apr 2010 03:59:27 GMT
Server: Microsoft-IIS/6.0
X-Powered-By: ASP.NET
X-AspNet-Version: 2.0.50727
Cache-Control: private
Content-Length: 0 *************** response header says no content !!!
can you help me figure out what is wrong with the utl_http.write_text method ???
thank youPlease do not resurrect old threads - rather ask your question in a new thread. If need be, add a URL in your new thread posting that refers to the old thread. Also add as much relevant details as possible. Your Oracle version (all 4 digits). Your o/s. If possible, sample code and data that can be used as a test case. Complete error details. And what the intent of the code is (i.e. what the actual problem is that you're trying to solve).
As for HTTP post - works just fine as far as I've used it. -
Does passthrough work for both HTTP and HTTPS and back?
I have pass through configured correctly for HTTP on S1WS6.5 to S1AS7, and it works correctly.
When a secure page is hit, an redirection loop starts between the Web Server and Application Server.Thanks Mike, I assume it is so, then.

ACE30/4710 - will x-forwarded-for work for non standard HTTP Ports?
Can I use x-forwarded-for on an ACE30 or ACE4710 to pass source IP details if my web service isn't using Port 80 or 443? Will it work satisfactorily for HTTP running on other ports (e.g. Port 8080)?
Hi,
It inserts this header in HTTP which normally listens on 80. Even though HTTP is listening on any different port, we should be able to insert the header. This should work fine.

Kanwal

End-user notification is not working for one of the untagorized HTTPS webistes on IronPort WSA
When users try to access the URL https://cloud.skytap.com/tools/connectivity they are getting 'Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage' instead of regular IronPort WSA end-user-notification. This URL is currently uncategorized. Please advice.
Yes, we have set drop all the uncategorized URLs. We do get end-user-notifications for HTTP websites which are uncategorized.
However, if any of the HTTPS websites which are uncategorized, then we wont get end-user-notification. -
