Do you need to clear cache everytime it gets full?

Just seeing if there is benefit to clearing cache everytime it gets full?

Well; if you fill a glass with water, how much more can you
put in the glass? Answer, It's already full. You probably have
a problem with the cache cleaning itself out of outdated or
old information. Check your settings.

I did a pre-order on a music album then I did not realize you needed to check the email to get the album so by accident I canceled it now I lost my album please help

In list view, select the album column. To choose which columns appear, select an item on the left side of the window (a playlist, for example), choose View > View Options, and select the information you want to see. You can also Control-click a column heading to select columns to display.
The column selected determines how tracks are displayed.  For example, clicking the "Name" column displays all tracks in alphabetical order; clicking the "Album" column displays the tracks in album order; clicking the "Date Added" column displays the tracks in the order that they were imported into your library.  Columns also have a disclosure arrow at the right of the column (when selected) that you can click to reverse the order.

  • How come you need an iTunes Store account to get album art?

I have no problem with this, because I do have an account. But on my sister's computer, she can't get album art because she doesn't have an iTunes Store account. Mainly because you need a credit card to set one up, and she's only 10. She just uses iTunes to burn her CD's to play on her iPod, she's only 10, why does she need an account to get album art?

I don't think any of us can definitively answer this one since it is decided by somebody like iTunes marketing. However, Apple is a for-profit corporation. The album artwork download is definitely a service for customers, and maybe a free perk to potential customers. If you have that account you are just one tiny click away from making a purchase and don't even have time to have second thoughts that you might have if you had to enter a credit card number each time. Kind of like a store offering something free inside to get you to walk through the door.

  • Do you need the original Twitter App to get Twitter notifications in your notifications center?

Just upgraded but I have not used the original twitter application in a while, I found a better one (Tweetlist). Do I need to have the original app on the phone in order to get the Twitter notifications in Notifications Center or will the notifications come through anyway as I have already integrated my account into the phone settings itself?

Yes, of course you need rights, for any content you wish to use - photos, artwork, music, text, everything - unless you created said content yourself. If you can't afford the rights to the photos you want to use, don't use them. Find photos, as Dave suggested, in the public domain or with a Creative Commons license that allows your use , or different photos with a lower licensing fee, or take your own photos. Note that if you take photos of people, you'll need model release forms from every person whose photo you wish to use.

  • UIX form need to clear cached data within session

HELP! I have some UIX forms created with JHeadStart, thay work fine except but when the underling table data changes (from another user session or an update trigger from different table) the forms will NOT show refreshed data, unless I delete my browser session cookie. Is there one place to clear the cache, and force the data to be reloaded each time it’s displayed?

In your struts diagram, rightclick the page and pick 'goto code'
This will overwrite your data action. There overwrite the method you use, most likely onCommit(....)
Use the appmodule to find your viewobjects there and clear the cache.

  • Need to clear cache to see dynamic changes?

I have a Flash site/movie that loads several JPG's via
    button.
    I'm using loadMovie.
Client is saying that he has to clear his cache to see
chaqnges when replacing or updating these images.
Same is happening on some dynamivc text files.
I should know this by now but....
Why and can I avoid this?
Thanks in adavance. Client is asking.

    Yup, this happens. :-/

The theory behind cacheing is actually a good thing. After
    all, why
waste network traffic if the user already has the file,
    right? The trouble
is, browsers don't always seem able to know when a file is
    new. It may be
due to the slight differences in your clock and your client's
    clock,
especially if you're uploading and checking these in a very
    quick
    turnaround.
The solution is to "trick" your browser into thinking it's
    requesting a
new file. One way to do this is to append a query string to
    the end of your
    requests for external files.
In the loadMovie() parameter that specifies the URL, do
    something like
    this ...
    "blah/blah/sample.jpg?ver=001"
... which essentially appends a fake variable, ver (for
    version), to your
request. When you make a change, update that 001 to a 002,
    and so on.
Pretty slick. I would also do this in the HTML that actually
    embeds the
    SWF.
    "blah/blah/sample.swf?ver=001"
... in both the object and embed tags.
If you really want to get fancy, use the Math.random()
    method to
generate a new number every time. In your ActionScript ...
    "blah/blah/sample.jpg?ver=" + Math.random()
... but remember, that means your client will re-download
    this file *every
time*. That may be what you want during testing, but it's
    almost certainly
not what you want when the project is complete -- so don't
    forget to remove
    this trick later.

  • So do you need wifi with iPad Air to get internet? Or can I take it on the road and use the internet

    Yes no?

If you don't have a cellular iPad, then yes, you must have a Wifi connection to access the internet.
That said, if you have an iPhone you can create a Wifi hotspot from your iPhone to your iPad.  Data charges do apply, so you'd need to add the service from your cell company.
Or, you can buy a Mifi from a cell carrier as well, which would give you wifi access to your iPad.

  • Newb needs help opening file browser and getting full file name and path.

Ok, so I'm a TOTAL newb here, but I have managed to get it to open a file browser but all I can seem to get it to do is give me the NAME of the selected file *eg. selectedFile.name* I also need the path of the file as in C:\example\file.mp3.
The program I'm making plays an MP3 of your choice at a certain time, like an alarm clock. But I got tired of entering the file path of the MP3 EACH time so I wanted to have a browse feature.
    Ideas... help... thanks...
    Nicholas

you'll need to use air to get the path.

  • Need info regarding caches

Plz correct me if I am wrong
    1) Index cache is buffer where the index pages are located .and Index pages consists of pointers and these pointers tell you where the data blocks are located on the disk.
    2) Data Cache is buffer where essbase created to store uncompressed data blocks
    3) How about .pag files ? I guess these files consists of the data block information ie data values.
    4) then How about .dat files? What these files exactly contain.
    5) Data file cache is buffer where essbase creates to store compressed data blocks. I read that data file cache will be created only if you are using direct i/o .. why you need data file cache as essbase is taking data directly from disk.
    6) calc cache is goiing to be created to store the blocks that are needed for calculation
Please clarify me on this caches. Correct me if there are any mistakes
    Thanks

    Yes

A file that contains data blocks. Essbase generates the data file upon data load and stores it on disk. Essbase names data files incrementally—essxxxxx.pag, where xxxxx is a number starting
    with 00001.
    4) then How about .dat files? What these files exactly contain.
.dat files are data files for storing data.
    5) Data file cache is buffer where essbase creates to store compressed data blocks.
The size of the data file cache determines how much of the data within the data files can fit into memory at one time. The data cache size and the data block size determine how many data blocks can fit into memory at one time. Data files for a single database can span multiple volumes;multiple databases can reside on the same volume.
    6) calc cache is goiing to be created to store the blocks that are needed for calculation
    Yes.
