Hi,
I have posted this question on flexcodes, some time ago, and it got burried without answer, so I will try it again here,
can anyone tell me a proper use case, usage scenarios, notes, anything at all about IModuleInfo.publish method,
I understand that one can create custom Factory that instantiates modules, but that is as far as I am right now, what is the reall reason behind this method, and how to effectively use it?
also how and where do I exactly useURL that starts with publish:// later on?

Back when we first added modules, the developer prototyped adding extra frames to the SWF, each one containing a module. Publish() is used when that frame's module is available. It probably still works, but I've never used it. There is an example of how to add extra frames in the Profiler post on my blog, and I thought Dirk Eismann had posted how he got it to work.

Unable to use Datasource.cfc in Admin API - The current user is not authorized to invoke this method

I am having some issues accessing the methods in the datasource.cfc in the adminAPI.
I can successfully load the administrator CFC and am told that I have successsfuly logged in;
But when I try to subsequently load the datasource.cfc I get an error that the current user is unable to access the method.

I tried creating separate admin users and passwords - yhinking that perhaps a revent hotfix had stopped the "admin" user from being allowed to use the adminAPI - but changing to a new adminuser yielded the same results.
I could login to the admin API with the new username and passsword - but could not access the datasource.cfc after that.

I've found a solution to my plight - I don't know if it'll work for you or help you try something that MAY fix it.
I use a common code set which includes the Application.cfc from a CF Mapping - So, in the application.cfc in the actual website I do this:-

Then, in the /UberDirectory/Application.cfc, I was initialising a CFC which checks if the datasource was created for the website. The datasource checking code attempts to log into the Admin API and check & create if necessary the datasource.
This has previously worked without fail for me - But in this instance it failed!! I was doing two things wrong - Firstly, the CFC should only be called in the Application.cfc in the onRequestStart section as the Application had to be initialised first - This is maybe because I've invoked the application.cfc in a "non-standard" manner.
Secondly, once I'd moved the CFC invocation into oNRequestStart I saw the following error:-
The string COOKIE.CFAUTHORIZATION_uber-directory is not a valid ColdFusion variable name.
I had this as the app name .... <cfset this.name = 'uber-directory'>
Changedthe dash to an underscore and I was away and could once again check the datasources

OK Error code - 2125 usually indicates that the movie is to large.
It use to pop up when going to iDVD !
iDVD - DO NOT CARE ABOUT Gbs at all. I got movies on 500Mb that do not fit and 50Gb that fits nicely.
iDVD - ONLY CARES ABOUT - Duration. Duration is Movie time + MENU TIME. Choice of
menu and animation of this can take lost of "DURATION" 15 minutes or even more.
Choice of encoding method and use of SL or DL DVDs determine the DVD limit.
iDVD 08 & 09 & 11 has three levels of qualities.
iDVD 6 has the two last ones
• Professional Quality (movies + menus up to 120 min.) - BEST
• Best Performances (movies + menus less than 60 min.) - High quality on final DVD
• High Quality (in iDVD08 or 09) / Best Quality (in iDVD6) (movies + menus up to 120 min.) - slightly lower quality than above
DL DVDs can store about double of these times.
ALTERNATIVE - The Error Code can indicate that free space on Start-up (BOOT) hard disk is
less than 25Gb (my minimum)

If you are getting OSStatus error -2125, I've seen this caused by the computer display sleep settings.
Try changing the sleep settings to never and see if you are able to export.

Slow performance with javax.xml.ws.Endpoint.publish method

I've published an endpoint on my computer with the javax.xml.ws.Endpoint.publish method. When I'm load testing my endpoint on the local machine, with the client side in another jvm, the endpoint reacts very fast (server side(endpoint) and the client side on the same computer). There's not performance problem there.
But when I try to run a load test with the server side endpoint on my local computer and the client side on another computer the endpoint reacts slow, very slow compared to the local scenario. Instead of 500 requests / second I get like 3 requests / second. Why?
When I look at the traffic between the client and the server running on different machines it's like 4,5 kB/sec on a 100Mbit connection. And almost no cpu activity (neither server or client).
When I've a web server, like Tomcat or Sun Java Application Server and deploy my endpoint there the traffics goes up to 400kB/sec. So then it works fine with good performance over the same network, same ip address, same port and everything.
Why is my endpoint so slow when I publish it with javax.xml.ws.Endpoint.publish instead of on a for example Tomcat. And why is the endpoint fast when I'm running client and server on the same machine?

the timeout is a client side thing, most likely. you need to set the http request timeout on the client.

Slow Performance Topic publish method in 9.1 vs 6.1

We are migrating from WebLogic 6.1 to 9.1 and are currently running both in parallel. We will eventually shutdown 6.1 permanently once we are happy with 9.1.
          We have a severe performance problem in 9.1 that does not happen in 6.1.
          Using the same code in both versions, when a Topic publish method is executed in 6.1 it returns within 0.001 to 0.002 seconds no matter how mainy users are subscribed to it. But, in 9.1 the same method can take minutes to return, the more users that are subscribed to it the longer it takes.
          We have tried many JMS settings that we thought would fix this for us, but no luck. Our messages are non-permanent, and not transactional.
          I see in 9.2 there is a new feature called "one way send mode", we really don't want to upgrade to 9.2 just to see if this feature might solve our problem.
          As anyone come across something similar to this? any ideas?

          If anything 9.1 should perform faster than 6.1. Some random shots in the dark:
          - Perhaps the messages are persistent even though you actually mean them to be non-persistent. There's a "delivery mode override" configurable on the destination you can use to force messages non-persistent.
          - Perhaps paging is active in 9.1 but not in 6.1, you might want to tune your 9.1 paging.
          - Perhaps you used "MULTICAST_NO_ACKNOWLEDGE" on 6.1 but not in 9.1.
          - Check for stuck threads on the server (look at thread dumps).
          All that said, at least on the surface, it looks like you might be running into some kind of bug: you might want to contact customer support.

          P.S. I don't think "one-way send" will help, as your problem seems to be on the subscriber side. How many subscribers are there?

I am not sure whether you can know mode of publish via SSAS, best way would be to use Authorisation Plug-in which can intercept you publish request and get the information which you need - in this case mode of publishing.

Scheduling is not working in BI Publisher

Hi all,
I am trying to schedule the report on BI publisher it's giving the following error:
oracle.apps.xdo.servlet.scheduler.ProcessingException: java.sql.SQLException: Listener refused the connection with the following error:
ORA-12519, TNS:no appropriate service handler found
The Connection descriptor used by the client was: localhost:1521:xe (I am using oracle database 10g and obiee 10.1.3.2).
I have followed the instructions provided in the link "Exploring Advanced Features of Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher"
Created mail server as instructed in the link ...
Problems are:
Unable to connect incoming and outgoing mail servers. I have used my machine host name i.e user as both incoming and outgoing server (u.ser.com)
also Scheduled jobs are not working in BI publisher.
Please let me know the solution for the above problem.

When sharing iMovie11 project with iDVD inmediately message 'the project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred (Error in user parameter list). Finalize issue?

When sharing my 60 minutes iMovie project with iDVD inmediately message 'The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred (Error in user parameter list)' appears. Could not find the user parameter list, so I've no more info about this error.
Option File - Finalize Project gives inmediately the same errormessage.
Also option Share - Media Browser - Large/Medium/Mobile give the same errormessage.
Please advise, thank you!

I have just loaded iLife 09 on my MAC. I've edited a movie and now want to export it, put it in iTunes, whatever I can do to move it beyond my laptop. No matter what option I choose under Share I get the same error message, "The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred. (-2009)". I can find the error message online, but not the (-2009) error code. I'm also a longtime PC person who has just switched to a MAC. Can anyone help?

I also am having the exact same problem. iMovie '09. I have tried changing permissions on all sharing folders, exporting to desktop, sharing to iTunes in all size files - and yet still get "Unable to prepare project for publishing. error (-2009).

Urgent help req : work item id not getting passed in the method

I have created a subtype zcats of business object CATS and delegated it .
I have created a new method Approve1 ( with attributes SYNCRONUS & DIALOG ) in zcats which is similar in coding to Approve method of CATS ( DIALOG) .
I have include the method Approve1 of business object zcats in a standard task .
The problem is that when the eorkflow gets triggered , the workitem id is not getting passed in the method APProve1 of zcats.
Can someone please help me with this .

Date comparision not working in BI-Publisher in one scenario.

Iam using sqlquery as a datamodel for BI-Publisher report. I have a requirement that the input parameters startdate and endate are Date types. When the user enters startdate and enddate and clicks on view, the report should show data which falls in between those dates.
Here is the sample query i used.
select * from
table1
where begintime >= :p_StartDate and begintime <=:p_EndDate
Here begintime is a timestamp and p_StartDate and p_EndDate are just dates. So when comparing begintime with p_StartDate/p_EndDate, i guess its taking default time from that date and because of that the comparision is failing in 1 case. i.e, In the above query, though the comparision operator is >= or <= , ultimately > or < is getting effective. So to acheive the actual result, I need to give one day more for start and end dates.
However I found a way to acheive this without adding extra day to both the dates. Here it is :
select * from table1 where
( begintime >= to_timestamp(to_char(:p_StartDate) || '00 00 00', 'DD Mon YYYY HH24 MI SS')) and
( begintime <= to_timestamp(to_char(:p_EndDate) || '23 59 59', 'DD Mon YYYY HH24 MI SS'))
But the above is working in sqleditor like jdeveloper database navigator. But not working in BI-Publisher.
BI-Publisher is throwing error saying
"ORA-01830: date format picture ends before converting entire input string"
Please help as to how to go about this problem or any alternative solution.

I think it will be fine to trunc the begin time since :p_StartDate and p_EndDate are just dates without time stamp
i.e:
select * from
table1
where trunc(begintime) >= :p_StartDate and trunc(begintime) <=:p_EndDate;

This error is caused by the missing "Main" method in your project. it is the entry point of your project.

I'm developing a blog reader for windows 8 store app. It was perfectly worked before. But because of some miss behave my coding i get below error. No other errors there.
Error 1 Program 'c:\Users\.........\Desktop\Blog_Reader\Blog_Reader\obj\Release\intermediatexaml\Blog_Reader.exe' does not contain a static 'Main' method suitable for an entry point C:\Users\..........\Desktop\Blog_Reader\Blog_Reader\CSC

Go to your App.Xaml and R-Click Go to Properties
Check whether the Build Action is ApplicationDefinition
If not change it to ApplicationDefinition. Clean the code (solution ) and Deploy..

But I found the solution while I fixing it.
Solution for that is like below.
Go to your App.Xaml and Right-Click thenGo to Properties
Check whether the Build Action is
ApplicationDefinition
If not change it to ApplicationDefinition.
Clean the code (solution) and Deploy
Now the error is fiexed.
