Does LR support opengl or opencl?
Using opengl with PS CS6 and PS CC I have seem substantial speed improvements in a number of functions. However, in LR 5 it is getting slower and slower the more images I add. It will often stall/freeze or slow to a crawl. Out of sheer frustration I downloaded Capture One 7 and turned on the opengl support. I imported my entire 1.3 T of image files to C1 7. While it is not as quick as LR - when running as it should - C1 7 never slows down, never stalls, never crashes. I want to continue with LR but its stalls, freezes, slow dows and occassional crashes are killing me.
I have optimized my catalog regularly, put my catalog and previews on my SSD and the cache on a WD Velociraptor - and yet it is getting slower and slower. Both drives are less than 50% full. My images are on a 2t WD Velocirapotor raid 0 - 66% full.
Otherwise my system is very quick and very stable - just LR 5 is the probem.

No OpenGL support at this time.
There have been many reports of performance problems like you're describing, starting with Lightroom 4.0, but they have since become fewer and fewer with each new release. But they keep trickling in.
Otherwise my system is very quick and very stable - just LR 5 is the probem.
That's typical. Machine specs appear to have no bearing on it. AFAIK there is still no definite answer as to what's causing it, but maybe someone else can give you specific advice about things to try. Sorry I'm not more help...

Pan and Zoom-I get a warning that my system does not support OpenGL

I'm using PSE 8 on a Windows 7 64 bit system. Whenever I view my photos in full screen mode and try to change the transitions to pan and zoom, I get a warning that my system does not support OpenGL. I have an ATI Radeon HD 5770, updated to the latest driver, and I believe that does support OpenGL. If I ignore the warning and select pan and zoom anyway, the slideshow cycles through hyper fast then locks up.
Any idea what is going on?

Installed graphics card does not support the opengl features recommended

I've installed FCP6 on my PowerMac (PPC G4 DP 1.25GHz), and when I run it, I get a warning ("...installed graphics card does not support the opengl features recommended...") and the program ends. The graphics card is the ATI Radeon 9000 Pro (64MB)
I'm looking for a definitive answer regarding my hardware compatibility with FCS2 (specifically, FCP6). I'm NOT looking for an answer along the lines of: your system is too old to run this.
I've checked the minimum system requirements from the apple website (http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/specs/
and http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/download/):

I have all that stuff. What I'd like is to know which component of my system is FCP6 complaining about (vis-a-vis the error message above), alternatively, if someone has had success with a similar configuration, I'd like to know anything they think might help.

The minimum would probably be an nVidia Fx5200 or an ATI 9600...

Maybe because it's necessary to build on a version that's been out long enough to be stable before releasing? Who knows?

Nokia E75 does not support sis files

I've been trying to upgrade the Ovi maps on my E75, because navigation has kept me saying that I need to renew the license. I went to Nokia web site and found out that I need to upgrade Ovi maps in order to get the free navigation. I have a 202.12.01 firmware and I installed it once again when I had unsuccessfully tried to upgrade Ovi maps. I have Ovi maps v3.01 09wk44b01 (MW OpenGL LM MN) and Map version 0.1.24.114 (OpenBitLM 6.22.5). I've deleted all old maps and started to download new ones successfully over Nokia Ovi Suite. I've downloaded Nokia Ovi Suite and followed the instructions for downloading and installing the newest version of Ovi maps application (I suppose it must be newer than the one I have on now, because navigation still wants me to buy license, I guess it must be 3.03 or higher). I've tried it several times from the scratch, just to make sure I did it right. Of course I've also chosen the right E75 phone from the drop down menu and I downloaded the file nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.2_lm_rom.sis. I double-clicked it and everything seems to be right, but when action on the phone should be required the installation guide says "Nokia E75 does not support sis files". From the sis file name I can only now see that I have this version already installed.
Does this mean I can not use navigation for free on E75?
Can anybody help me ASAP, because I need the navigation evey day very badly?

Afterwards I installed the sis file you pointed me to and it worked. The maps on the phone were deleted, so I downloaded new ones over Nokia Ovi Suite and tried the navigation. Unfortunately it stills demands buying the licence for the navigation.
I guess this is because the recommended sis file is v3.01 and not v3.03? Is that right?
Any other solution?

I have a IBM Thinkpad R61 (notebook) with a nVidia Quadro NVS 140M graphics card (which supports Direct X 10 and OpenGL 2.1 according to nVidia. Running on Vista. After Effects CS3 version 8.0.2.27.
So far the tech info.
My problem is that even though my graphics card supports OpenGL After Effects says the graphics card doesn't support it. On the preferences > Preview tab I can't turn OpenGL on. And according to the OpenGL info button a OpenGL supporting Graphics Card can't be found. Graphic Drivers may require an update it says. But my drivers are completely up to date. Tried updating through windows update, and through the Lenovo / IBM upgrade utility, but it can't seem to find more recent drivers.
Does anybody have a solution for this?

It's not so much that you are bound to the manufacturer's branding and versions, but the pertinent functions may simply have been disabled for safety reasons. With notebooks, anything can happen and it's part of the marketing policy and why some of them are so pricey. I recommend you take this up directly with Lenovo support via phone or official support requests on the web. There may be a driver that releases the functions, but it may be considered too unstable for public release. They may give you access to it, but ask of you that you hold no liabilities against them in case something goes wrong. Other than that you can always try RivaTuner/ SoftQuadro which will coerce your system into thinking it has a different card by adjusting some driver settings. This is of course also all on you own risk.

Are you saying that After Effects isn't using your GPU to accelerate the ray-traced renderer even when you tick the box?
Or are you just asking the AE team to add official support for your GPU to the ray-traced renderer?
If it's the second, too bad. The AE team has stopped all development on the ray-traced renderer. It is considered obsolete. They are working on better integration with C4D: details of CINEMA 4D integration with After Effects The fact that it ships for free with AE is pretty cool.
However, if it's the first, alright; let's troubleshoot! What exact version number of AE are you using? (13.0.1? 13.1.0? 13.1.1?) How long does it take to render when you switch the CPU and then how long does it take when you switch it to GPU with the box checked?

Does the later 2009 MacBook support the Apple DVI to Video Adapter (s-video). I want to connect it to an old tv which does not support HDMI. Any suggestions?

I have a late 2009 MacBook which I want to connect to an old LG tv. The tv does not support HDMI it only has the (red, while, and yellow) ports. Sorry I dunno the exact name for it.

The Late 2009 model 6,1 has a Mini DisplayPort not the Mini-DVI. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When the System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier.

IE11/Win 8.1 error 'Your client does not support opening this list in windows explorer'

I hoping someone might be able to help with this frustrating issue.
I work on a project where we are using various versions of on-line SharePoint (2007/O365). In order to quickly drag and drop folders we need to often open the document libraries by using the 'open in windows explorer view'.
Using the same device, on occassion this works. But often it gives a rather unhelpful message 'Your client does not support opening this list in Windows Explorer'.
I've searched for this issue over the net and confirm that the sites are added to the 'trusted' sites area and that the 'remember you credientials' is checked on logging in.However, the searches do not seem to apply to IE11/Win8.1 or on-line version of sharepoint
(the suggested hot fix is not suitable)
Only this morning, using the same device I was able, for a short while to open in explorer view, and then for no apparent reason, it began to display the error message. I had changed nothing regarding settings or even closed the browser.
Do you have any support/ideas/fixes on how to resolve this.

follow the directions given above.... you need to add the domains to your Intranet sites list, not the Trusted sites list.
Perhaps you already have it mapped to your intranet zone....in which case make sure that you have unchecked "Enable Enhance Protected Mode" on the Intranet zone dialog in Internet Options.
If this is happening 'randomly' on client machines, then users are probably changing their internet security settings in Internet Options. Ensure they are accepting the default.... Internet Options>Security tab, click "Reset all zones to default".
Consult with your system administrators to find out if they are applying a custom security template for the Intranet zone... It may be removing the sharepoint domains from the client Intranet zone's domains lists.

Time Machine is capable of backing up to multiple locations, and can be used to back up to both a local hard drive and a networked drive (provided that that drive is in or connected to a Time Capsule or another Mac that is sharing it over the network). The catch, though, is that you can't specify different things to back up to different destinations. Whatever you exclude from Time Machine backups is excluded from ALL backups, and whatever is included is included on all.
So, get a large enough drive that you can back up everything you want in all locations, or use something else for maintaining the network backup.

AS I FOUND OUT LATE, LION DOES NOT SUPPORT ROSETTA, WHICH SUPPORTS QUICKEN AND CLASSIC AOL, AND MANY OTHER APPS. CAN I TAKE LION AWAY AND GO BACK TO SNOW LEOPARD?

I found out after the install of LION, that it does not support Rosetta, which runs Quicken and the classic AOL software and a myriad of other apps.
Can I go back to Snow Leopard? Is there a way to retrieve my thousands of saved E mails, which are saved on my Mac?
I still see the filing cabinet with my screen name but cannot get them to open.
Please help! Lion may roar, but the fact it does not support apps like quicken means it purrs.

I had the Apple store wiped out my hard drive and I restore my last hard drive downloard by first placing Snow leopard DVD in the DVD drive and holding "C" when turning on the machine then I follow the instructions. I am back on snow leopard and trying out two finance software to replace Quicken for mac 2007. I am trialing Quicken essentials and ibank. They are both compatable with LION. So when I am ready will download Lion again. Also, Micorsoft Office needs to be 2011 version for it to work on Lion

It doesn't match yours exactly. There is an iframe with a Google map in it in the "Hosting Analysis" section, which in your pasted page seems to be the "Site Server" section.

Apple IOS is the leader in graphics, photography. The advertising states it is usable under both APPLE IOS and Microsoft 8.1 windows operating systems. Adobe Support Chat Sooraj tells me on 02/19/2015 that i must buy two computers to have it operate on both operating systems. Adobe will not support apple's Boot CAMP allowing both operating systems.

Cisco OS 2000.2.7 does not support MCS 7825I1 ?

I have a new installation coming up of CCM 4.1.3 & Unity 4.0.5
Seems Cisco has sent wrong set of OS Cds for CCM. The Server is a IBM make (MCS 7825I1) with Prescott 3.4 CPU & 2GB RAM alongwith 2 * SATA 80GB HDD.
When I insert Hardware Detection CD for 2000.2.7 it says "This OS version does not support the detected server. Remove the disk and press any key to reboot.
My BoM says:
CM4.1-K9-7825= SW CallMgr 4.1, MCS-7825 2
MCS-7825-I1-IPC1 HW Only MCS-7825-I1 with 2GB RAM
and SATA RAID

Can I install like this - Run IBM ServeRaid, Prep server, Insert Win2k cd, then after install run OS Upgrade 2000.2.7
Will this work?

i am not sure why the CPU speed should matter.......
I don't know what to say, if you have the "a" hardware detection disk, this should work. I have never had a problem once i had the right media so i will step aside and wait to see if someone else can help.
