I have it set up the way i want now and everything is running smoothly. Dont really want to install if all this will be lost.

How do you change the shortcut keys for Firefox in Welsh For Mac?

I'm using Firefox in Welsh on Mac (asking in English to hopefully get more answers), and every time I try to do the shortcut for copy (cmd+C), it hides the window (since Hide in Welsh is Cuddio, the shorcut for that is now Cmd+C). I usually forget this, and proceed with using the shortcut for copy only to anger myself when I realise that I've hidden the window.
My question is, how do you change the shortcut keys on Firefox so then I can change the Hide shortcut and give Copy the cmd+C shortcut? I'm also using OpenOffice.org in Welsh, and they are using cmd+C for copy and cmd+H for Hide.
Is there any way that I could do this myself? Its rather annoying for me, and its rather weird to use Cmd+X for Cutting text instead of copying.

This could be worth a bug. It shouldn't happen that some shortcut keys get (re)used for other actions and Cmd + C should be considered as one of them.

You can find the file cy.jar in the chrome folder in the Firefox application folder.<br />
The file cy.jar is a ZIP archive, so you need a program that can open such an archive and edit the file baseMenuOverlay.dtd.
I'm not on a Mac, so can't do any testing in this matter. I just downloaded the Welsh (cy.xpi) language pack for Mac and had a look in it.

L420 Screen Brightness does not change with Function Keys

I have installed the latest driers and since then I am unable to change the screen brightness using function keys. I have installed multiple driver updates hence it is difficult to find out which driver is causing the issue. Any pointers in this regards would be a good help.

The newest Intel HD driver (from Intel) is causing this issue. Uninstall it and reinstall the driver provided from Lenovo.

Satellite A300-15K: Polish character does not appear using shortcut key

Hi,
I am a fresh user of A300-15K and from the start I have discovered that it has combination of Alt+Ctr+C assigned to starting up ATI software (Catalyst Control Centre). Unfortunatelly this combination normally should produce Polish character "?" ( it doesn't look properly on this page somehow after I have copied it from Word - it is "c" with stong accent over it - here is its capital version "?").
I entered Catalyst Control Centre and unmarked the use of so called HotKeys (first this particular hotkey and then the use of hotkeys generally), but all I achieved was that Catalyst Control Centre stopped starting up after the combination usage.
However, the needed Polish character did not appear. I can get its capital version with Alt+Ctr+Shift+c, but no normal version.
A guy from service centre advised me to assign a different letter as startup combination for Catalyst Control Centre and I did, but it still did not make the Polish character appear.
I guess there must be a fault in regional settings so I tried to change them to English and back to Polish with zero result.
Please help with some word of advise.

Its easy to turn off.
Just enter the catalyst driver and there must be option like 'shortcut'. Turn it off.
I had the same problem.
I remember only it was really easy to turn off.

I want to hide the inspectors and other tools easily than clicking on them. Like Adobe Illustrator, i just press Tab button, all things are hidden, except working area. Yeah! I like Keynote to be like that.

The file cut paradigm doesn't exist in the Mac OS.
That's one thing I actually liked about Windows. It may not conform to what some snotty Mac users think is the "proper" way to move a file but, in practice, it works very well.

PP CS6 PageUp & PageDn shortcut keys not working

Heads up... This may look like a simple topic that's been covered before, but read on and you'll see it's different.
I've been using Premiere since v5.5 (Windows 95, not CS 5.5!). I use lots of shortcut keys for all my apps. Premiere has always used PageUp and PageDn to move the cursor to the next edit point (any cut video or audio clip). In PP CS6, I went into change the shortcut keys for those two commands to the same ones I've been using for years. PP CS6 has two sets of options for cursor movements: Selected Track(s) or Any Track. The Any Track is the way it's worked before in earlier versions of PP. I set the Any Tracks Next/Previous to PageDown and PageUp respectively. The actual keystrokes appear in the hot-key window when I press them so I know PP sees the keys and knows what they are.
When I saved the shortcuts and went to the timeline... nada. PgUp and PgDn do nothing. This has nothing to do with selected video tracks as I'm using the Any Tracks option. To do a further test, I changed the shortcut keys to Ctrl+PgUp and Ctr+PgDn for Any Track. When I tested that out, it worked perfectly. So this appears to be a bug of some kind. I've been using PgUp and PgDn for many years. I certainly don't want to have to hold the Ctrl key down while Paging Up and Down to move around the project from clip to clip!
Does anyone have a solution to this one?

Yeah, I know, but every now and then I have to reinstall and then there's the agony of changing again from the defaults :-( In the end, like 'em or hate 'em, sticking with the defaults usually makes for an easier life. I say that as someone who has been commercially programming since 1967 and forced to use practically every crazy language and stupid machine ever invented ;-)

You can use an input field to enter and edit text. It consists of a field name and the field data.
Use
When the input field has the focus [External], you can enter text and numerical data using the keyboard.
Access
Sequential element navigation works for input fields, which means you can move the focus [External] forwards to an input field using [Tab] or backwards using [Shift]+[Tab]. You may need to press [F2] to start the text editing process. If an underlying function exists, you can start it by pressing [F2] this corresponds to a double click with the left mouse button.
Help Functions
When the input field has the focus [External], you can call up the help documentation for this field by choosing [F1]. If the input field has a tool tip, you can call it up by choosing [Ctrl][q]. You can open the context menu of the focused input field by choosing the [ContextMenu] key or [Shift][F10]. In more complex applications, the F4 help opens up a dialog box and provides selection options. If there is an F4 help, this is indicated by a small icon to the right

Shortcut keys in windows Safari

I've searched many topics and cant seem to find a Direct way, to change the shortcut keys in Safari for windows... I've tried searching disabling specific keys I've tried searching hot keys, shortcuts, but nothing... or the answers that are out there, are for mac saying go into terminal or something..
I have a WINDOWS computer, and am using a file to look into the .plist files that come with Safari. I am unable to find any hot key or shortcut adjustment options.

I am looking for this as well. I am currently dealing with Safari taking me back a page every time I hit my delete key, minus the times I am in a form field. I interact with a lot of Flash content and it seems that even if I am working with text when doing that I am taken back a page. I'd be very grateful for a fix to this if anyone knows how to edit this preference on Windows.

Shortcut keys not working

On my Mac (OSX 10.9.5), the 'step backwards' shortcut key (cmd-alt-z) isn't working; nothing happens.
On my Windows (Windows 7) pc, the 'step forwards' shortcut key (ctrl-shift-z) isn't working.
If I go into the shortcut menu and change the shortcut key, it doesn't let me change it back to the original shortcut (cmd-alt-z) and I have to reset the keybindings.
I have tried resetting preferences. All of the keys on both keyboards work, and I can use those keys as shortcuts in other software. I'm using photoshop CC (2014).
Any suggestions to get the shortcut keys working again?

If you have Photoshop CC or older, install the WhiteWindowWorkaround plugin.
And install the MacOS 10.10.1 update.

Message shortcut key does not work in Safari

Hi there,
I've a shortcut key specified for sending links through Message app while I'm in Safari. (Command + Ctrl + M).
It appears in the system preferences and I can even see the shortcut symbol in Safari but it simply doesn't work. I has worked randomly for sometime but does not work anymore. (Changing the keyboard combination hasn't helped either)
Any idea ?

Try shutting down the iMac. Disconnect the keyboard. Wait about 5 minutes. Reconnect the keyboard and restart the iMac. See if the Return key works now.
If not, since it's so new, take the keyboard back for a replacement.
