Does OWB creates CWM2 for OLAP/BI

The environment is:
Personal Oracle9i Release 9.2.0.3.0 - Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP and Oracle Data Mining options
JServer Release 9.2.0.3.0 - Production
JDev 9.0.3.1035
I managed to run the OLAP/BI Beans tutorials. So, I am now ready to create my own OLAP Metadata.
I created some Dimensions, Cube and Measures with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) which generates CWM (Common Warehouse Metadata) for 9R1.
But to use full capabilities I need CWM2 from 9R2 so to generate OLAP Objects in CWM2 it seems that I need to go to OLAP Worksheet or use the PL/SQL packages for CWM2.
I came across document named "Use Oracle Warehouse Builder To Build Your OLAP-Ready Data Warehouse" dated 2002, authors: Particia Fay, Jean-Pierre Dijcks and Oracle Corp. This documents shows how to create OLAP Objects with OWB in 9i.
Does OWB generates OLAP Objects of CWM2 type ?

I just want to be clear on the DB version. I currently have 9.2.0.3.0 and it looks like I need a yet to be released 9.2.0.4. (rather than 9.0.2.4).Correct. Sorry for the typo in 9.2.0.4. The standalone OLAP patch on top of the database 9.2.0.3 exists but is not yet externally released. And you do need it. It is likely that it will be released in the patchset 9.2.0.4 rather than standalone.
AW Manager is a tool with its own interface, very much like OEM, with a tree showing Measure Folders, Cubes and Dimensions. It appears under "Integrated Management Tools" in the menu when installed. So you would use OEM to create relational implementation of these objects and AWM to create dimensional implementation.
Or you would use Warehouse Builder to model the objects once and then deploy to either relational or dimensional.

OWB !0g R2: Does OWB create records for higher levels in a dimension?

For example, if there are two levels PRODUCT_CATEGORY and PRODUCT, it looks like OWB populates the PRODUCT_CATEGORY records too in the dimension. Is this the default behaviour? Is there a way to turn this off, and only have the lowest level records populated?

I will expand on the prior example to ask another dimension related question.

Q1: I need to join to another table on DAIRY, and to pull the FARM_NAME and the attributes from the second level (2L MILK, FAT_CONTENT). How do you guys do something like this in practical terms - check where the surrogate key for the second level is not null? One could also join on DAIRY where 2L MILK or FAT_CONTENT are not null?
Q2: The other area where I am unclear is whether to use in the mapping the dimension object or the bound table. If I try to use the dimension then OWB will not let me do this because you can not source from more than level at the same time. I guess I will have to use a join? The other option is to use the table, but witht a complex large dimension that can get messy. So ... what is the correct approach in general - use dimensions or the underlying tables in a mapping?

Reports9i Builder does not create Graph for Web Source

I installed the new 9iDS and I'm trying to create a jsp page with a graph. If I create a graph in the paper layout it will run in paper layout only. After checking the web source code there is no <rw:graph ... > tag. If I try to insert the graph in the web source view I get REP-0069: Internal error REP-0: oracle/reports/RWExxception: 1.0. Is there a way to create graph for the web layout?.

This should work fine. I assume you created the report using the wizard. Did you by any chance choose to create a paper layout only?
Try the wizard option 'Create Web Layout only' or 'Create both Web and Paper Layout'.

What settings does the "Create PDF for Review" output use?

Product: RoboHelp 11 (TCS 5)
Menu location: Review > Create PDF for Review
Issue: The default output from the menu location results in output that is unusable: e.g., styles aren't mapping correctly, making the document difficult to read and review. Is there a default print layout or some other control available?
Ultimate objectives: Track changes, perform shared reviews, import comments from the generated PDF, and so forth.
Secondary questions: Can I import comments/markup from a shared review if I generated the PDF using the print layout, instead of the Review > Create PDF for Review menu option? If so, will I then be able to manage comments from the Review pane and perform other related-reviewing functions?

I believe it maps via CSS. I don't believe you can change this behaviour.
If you generate printed documentation, it is NOT possible to import the review comments.

Why does iPhoto create subfolders for an album?

I have have about 20 albums in iPhoto, and I've never had an issue until recently. I created a new album, and have been dragging pictures into the album over the past 4 months or so (it's to update progress on the construction of our new house). When I drag photos into the original album, iPhoto creates a subfolder within the original album. The outcome is that I have 92 "untitled album"s within the original album. Worse, when I sync my phone and want to have this album on my phone, the original album doesn't show up on my list of albums, but the 92 untitled albums do. Is there a setting that I'm missing? This had never happened with the other 20 or so albums I have on iPhoto.

Try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion and Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE 1: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

Our company had installed Oracle Application Server 10g and using Discoverer Plus 10g (10.1.2.48.18) and also creating the EUL as the data storage/mapping for our workbooks/reports.
Our company has a plan to use Discoverer Plus for OLAP and already installed the discoverer catalog.
How to create a connection using option "Connect To" OracleBI Discoverer for OLAP ?
What is the diffrence between Discoverer Catalog and Analytic Workspace?
What tools that we must use to create data for OLAP (to create some dimensions, measures etc)?

Hi Handoko,
You can establish a connection from Discoverer Plus for OLAP, by specifying the database connect information in the form of HOST:PORT:SID (e.g MyServer.com:1521:orcl10g).
The Discoverer OLAP catalog is used to store end-user reports and is installed and maintained using Application Server Control console. It allows you to install the catalog and authorize users to store reports in the catalog. The Analytic Workspace Manager is used to define your multi-dimensional model and load the data from source tables.

The process should be the same - however there are specific things you'll need to do if you are trying to deploy from JDev 10.1.3 to OAS 10.1.2.

Connect the device to the computer.
In iTunes, select the content desired to sync.
Sync.
This is all described in the User's Guide, reading it may be a good place to start.

I don't think it'll cause a problem, but I'd disable/turn off Time Machine before disconnecting, then turn it back on after you connect it again.

Co-authors can edit the form design, options, responses, and summary report (everything that you can do).
Note:- They do not require a paid subscription to view the responses, free subscription users can become co-authors.

Yes, you can do this with the Show/Hide "Skip" logic rules.
1. Suppose, for example, you have your first ten projects showing by default.
2. At the end of those fields, you would have a Yes/No question asking if the person wanted to add more projects.
3. If they answer "No", they move on to the next section/area/question/etc.
4. If they answer "Yes" you have the form display ten more project fields that you had already included, but you had hidden up to this point.
5. Repeat steps two, three, and four as often as needed. (It helps that you can copy and paste fields, including groups of questions, so you don't have to manually re-create them each time.)
It means you must anticipate the maximum number of times you want to provide project fields, but you've already done that, and you have to build the form with that maximum number, but only display smaller portions at a time until they have filled in all they need.

FYI: Setting OLE DB for OLAP does not work in BW Add-On Frontend Patch 402

The setting for property 'Allow External Access for this Query' (OLE DB for OLAP) for a BEx query is not being saved when patch 402 for GUI 720 is used. There is no warning or error message. It works in patch 401 and hopefully as well in the upcoming 500.
This impacts all external use of BEx queries, including access from Business Objects. By the way, a universe connection to the query will still function after the property setting is gone, but a new connection cannot be created as the query is not visible anymore.

SQLJ translator for ISO/ANSI does not create .SER profile (Jdev 9.0.0 prev)

The SQLJ translater that comes with JDeveloper 9.0.3 preview does not create profiles (.SER) when running with -codegen=ansi or iso. Thus producing none runnable code.
It is not possible to set any switches in JDev.
Previous versions of the translated did produce the .SER files.
Is there a workaround possible?
