Does pacman have a verify mode or something similar?
I took my arch drive and an old pata drive to my dad's machine because my machine doesn't have any pata ports (just got a new one) and I needed to get stuff off the old drive. I unplugged my dad's hard drive and plugged my drives in, but did so without realising the machine was asleep and not actually off. So there goes windows trying to wake up. 2 seconds later it BSODs and writes a memory dump to the drive, which I think may have broken my system somehow because now after rebooting my dad's machine and copying over all the files I need (had to boot to arch on my flash drive) I brought my arch drive back to my machine and now /sbin/init won't start because it is "accessing a corrupted shared library" and that causes a kernel panic ("tried to kill init"). So I've now booted off my arch flash drive again and mounted my arch drive in the hopes of fixing it. So I need some way of getting pacman to reinstall everything somehow, and I was hoping there was a command line switch like other package managers have that will verify any packages installed on the system.
TL;DR I somehow broke some library on my machine and now I get a kernel panic on boot because init is accessing a corrupted shared library, and I need to use pacman to hopefully reinstall that library.
My plan was to just pacman --root /mnt -Syy && pacman --root /mnt -Syu but I don't think that's sufficient.
EDIT: I tried reinstalling glibc, that gave an error about libreadline being corrupt so I tried to reinstall that, that threw an error about libncursesw.so.5 being corrupt, so I reinstalled that. That finally ran fine, but now when trying to reinstall readline it upgrades according to pacman then says "command failed to execute correctly". I also just tried pacstrap /mnt base base-devel and my screen is now being spammed by some weird characters. Think it's a format and reinstall for me

No, I have no idea what it was spamming (looked like %059 or something like that, or a slash with a bunch of numbers that just kept repeating) but no kernel panic. Loads of library errors though.
I've now got pacman --root /mnt -Syf base base-devel running which is redownloading all the packages just in case. If all these libraries are broken it probably means all the others are broken too, which means I'm pretty much reinstalling anyway. I only installed arch 2 days ago, lol.
EDIT: Still not working, loads of library errors and "cannot execute binary file" errors. All of these things should have been overwritten by pacman, so this is probably a disk error or something. I ran fsck before everything and that corrected some stuff but it's still broken somehow. I'll just have to format and reinstall I suppose.

I know that when you remove something it's checking for dependencies and I've seen it show these before, but I swear I removed something that had dependencies and it don't show any and just removed only the single program.
So basically I wanted to know if there are any pacman cmds like this to check the system with and clean it up?

However, they do, with the exception of the tablets and SL series, have the famous ThinkLight which you can turn on in the dark using the Fn + PgUp key combination.

My Mac book air wont start up.it is freezing up right before the log on screen. It shut down properly. I cant figure out what could of caused this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Are you getting to the Login screen? Or is freezing up on a blue screen? Are you still at the gray screen? Run any updates recently?

The next step would be to try and verify/repair Disk Permissions, but you'll need access to another computer for DVD/CD sharing or an external DVD drive. -

In I.E. when you want to delete your browsing history, the Internet Options tab allows you to retain the cookies for the websites that are listed in your 'Favorites'. With this preference enabled, you can delete your browsing history regularly without having to maintenance your cookies that you need. My bank requires that I register my computer for security reasons. The registration process places a cookie on PC. My browsing history is set to delete upon logout and I'm concerned that I will have to re-register my PC every time I log in or I will have to maintenance my browsing history every time I clear it. Does Firefox provide a feature so I can retain certain cookies that I want to keep?
If you use [[Clear Recent History]] or other means to clear (all) cookies then those specified cookies will be removed, even if there is an allow exception.
You can let all cookies expire if you close Firefox and make an Allow exception for the ones that you want to keep.
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Keep until": "I close Firefox"
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Exceptions"
Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"

feature or something that would allow me to export whole books at once?Yes, I wouldn't suggest using GREP styles to set up huge kerning tables, but let me give you a couple of examples. The first isn't actually a pair, but my client likes to have some air around em-dashes. So, I have set up a character style named Tracking75 and a GREP style that does this:
Apply Style: Tracking75
To Text: .~_
This actually applies +75 tracking to any character that is followed by an em-dash and the em-dash that follows it, thereby giving the em-dash some air.
I also have a CustomKernPair'" character style that I use to add 50 units of tracking to the pair :
ApplyStyle: CustomKernPair
to Text: ~](?=~})
In this case, the tracking is applied to just the single right quote when it is followed by a double right quote because of the use of the positive lookahead to locate the second character.
This could be extended as far as you like, but it would quickly get unwieldy if you tried to apply it to more than a handful of pairs; there's also a potential performance issue if you go crazy. And there's no method (other than Based-on inheritance) to quickly get a bunch of these out of one style into another -- but a script could help with that.

I created a custom security extension following the steps listed in the Readme_Security Extension Sample. It works fine if I login as the user that is specified AdminConfiguration section of the rsreportserver.config file but if I
log in as another user, I get this error: User '' does not have required permissions. Verify that sufficient permissions have been granted and Windows User Account Control (UAC) restrictions have been addressed. I've added the user to both System Administrator
and System User roles to try to get it to work but still no luck.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

The issue is due to that user have no permission to access the report server. In report manager, Reporting Services includes predefined roles that we can assign to users and groups to provide immediate access to a report server. Each role defines a collection
of related tasks.
You can refer to the following steps to assign corresponding role to the user.
Open report manager.
Click “Folder Setting” button.
Click “New Role Assignment” icon.
Type the user name and select the corresponding role.

I have quicktime pro and it does NOT have the screen record mode that Quicktime is suppose to have. Can I uninstall it and go back to an older version that would have screen recording? If so, how? Step by step needed. Thank you for your time.
Did you remove Quicktime X?
On a normal install Quicktime 7 is installed in the Utilities folder and Quicktime Pro in the main Applications folder.
You will need to reinstall OS X to get Quicktime X back if you have deleted it.
I notice yor profile says 10.5.8. Quicktime X is only available on 10.6 and above. -
I have an ipod nano 7th generation and can not get it recognised by my Windows 8.1 laptop (it appears briefly on My computer, then disappears). This happened after I updated iTunes to the latest version. Does that have something to do with it?

My computer has been acting weird lately. Shuts itself off, the mouse goes off in all directions, does not go into sleep mode sometimes, instead shows a gray screen with word definitions in large 3" letters that continuosly flows across the screen. Do I have a virus?

Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
In the Memory tab, are there a lot of Pageouts? -
