Does the arrow of compass's safari has a signification?

Please help me this is a question very important and i need to know the answer for a school project...
THANK YOU

Well, the compass needle always points to the magnetic north pole. So look at the needle and figure out where you have to be standing for the Safari icon to be identical to a compass in your hand.

  • Recently the close tab function in safari has disappeared.

Recently the close tab function in safari has disappeared and now I have to close tabs by right clicking, needless to say it's driving me mad. Is there a way I can sort this out?

My Safari tabs were missing the "x" close button as well.
What ended up working for me was ->Force Quit->Safari.
I noticed quitting Safari from the Dock does not completely close it out, and from the Safari->Quit Safari menu option is grayed out. Force quit seemed to be the only way to end it.

Does the latest security update (Fix issued 25/02/14) to Safari not effect Mac OSX v10.6.8 Snow Leopard? Software update has not flagged it up in Snow leopard, so presumably it is only Lion & Mavericks that had the flaw.

    Correct!

  • How many lines does the arrow button move the page?

When using the arrow buttons on the scroll bar the page moves more than it used to. What happened?

Firefox 10 has changed the scroll amount for the keyboard navigation UP and DOWN keys to 3 lines.<br />
You can set the scroll amount for the mouse wheel via mousewheel prefs on the about:config page, but you can't do that for the keyboard navigation keys.
There are extensions that work both for the mouse and the keyboard to set the scroll amount, but they can only be set to scroll an amount of pixels and not to scroll one line regardless of font-size (height) of the text.

  • Why does the arrow pointer become a hand?

i just noticed that the arrow pointer becomes a hand when hovering over clickable links and i don't believe that it has always done so....is this supposed to happen?

That's obviously NOT what I meant.    I meant, as a percentage of total "personal computing," over time, more of it will be happening on touchscreen DEVICES (such as iPad and iPhone).  And more people will ONLY have a touchscreen mobile computing device, and not even own a desktop or laptop computer.  And THAT is why having a "pointer" on the screen that changes shape "may become less common in the future."
Unlike Microsoft and the Windows 8 kludge, Apple is clearly intent on keeping Macs and touchscreen iOS devices distinct and separate.  Macs (from 27-inch iMac to 11-inch MacBook Air) will continue to have an interface optimized for keyboard and mouse/trackpad.  And iOS mobile devices will continue to evolve its touchscreen-based interface.  That's a very good thing...

  • Does the backup include information from safari?

I recently dropped my iPad and now it won't charge or sync and I can't find anywhere if the information that is backed up when you sync the device includes things like Safari bookmarks and reading lists, or notes from the note app that is installed by the factory.
I have several links that I don't want to lose because I need them for school and I want to be sure before making the decision about whether to get this iPad fixed or getting a new one.
I have read all the applicable help articles as well as the user guide and can't find an answer.
I don't know what the iOS is on my iPad, because I'd rather not turn it back on until I know that I need to, so as to save what power is left.

The answer is yes for itunes backup but no for icloud backup
WHAT IS CONTAINED IN A BACKUP
One active backup is contained in an iTunes backup and each time an new backup is created the previous backup is overwritten.  An iTunes backup contains the following information:
Contacts* and Contact Favorites (regularly sync contacts to a computer or cloud service such as iCloud to back them up).
App Store Application data including in-app purchases (except the Application itself, its tmp and Caches folder).
Application settings, preferences, and data, including documents.
    Autofill for webpages.
    CalDAV and subscribed calendar accounts.
    Calendar accounts.
    Calendar events.
    Call history.
Camera Roll (Photos, screenshots, images saved, and videos taken. Videos greater than 2 GB are backed up with iOS 4.0 and later.)
Note: For devices without a camera, Camera Roll is called Saved Photos.
    Game Center account.
    Home screen arrangement.
    In-app purchases.
Keychain (this includes email account passwords, Wi-Fi passwords, and passwords you enter into websites and some other applications. If you encrypt the backup with iOS 4 and later, you can transfer the keychain information to the new device. With an unencrypted backup, you can restore the keychain only to the same iOS device. If you are restoring to a new device with an unencrypted backup, you will need to enter these passwords again.)
List of External Sync Sources (MobileMe, Exchange ActiveSync).
Location service preferences for apps and websites you have allowed to use your location.
Mail accounts (mail messages are not backed up).
Installed Profiles. When restoring a backup to a different device, installed configuration profiles are not restored (such as accounts, restrictions, or anything which can be specified through an installed profile.) Any accounts or settings that are not associated with an installed profile will still be restored.
Map bookmarks, recent searches, and the current location displayed in Maps.
    Microsoft Exchange account configurations.
Network settings (saved Wi-Fi hotspots, VPN settings, network preferences).
Nike + iPod saved workouts and settings.
    Notes.
    Offline web application cache/database.
Paired Bluetooth devices (which can only be used if restored to the same phone that did the backup).
Safari bookmarks, cookies, history, offline data, and currently open pages.
Saved suggestion corrections (these are saved automatically as you reject suggested corrections).
Messages (iMessage and carrier SMS or MMS pictures and videos).
Trusted hosts that have certificates that cannot be verified.
    Voice memos.
Voicemail token. (This is not the voicemail password, but is used for validation when connecting. This is only restored to a phone with the same phone number on the SIM card).
    Wallpapers.
    Web clips.
    YouTube bookmarks and history.
    * Your contacts are part of the backup to preserve recent calls and favorites lists. Back up your contacts to a supported personal information manager (PIM), iCloud, or another cloud-based service to avoid any potential contact data loss.
There are three backups saved in iCloud and the following information is contained in an iCloud backup (see http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5347):
Purchased music, movies, TV shows, apps, and books
Photos and videos in your Camera Roll
    Device settings
    App data
    Home screen and app organization
    Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS)
    Ringtones
    Visual Voicemail

  • Why does the Excel source think my query has parameters?

Part of my current project involves converting an Excel spreadsheet having a number of tabs into an equal number of pipe-delimited flat files using an SSIS package. I've got one data flow task that opens up the excel file and selects the names of all the
tabs into and object variable. A second data flow task inside a for each loop attempts to read the first 32 columns from each tab. The excel source in the second data flow task is set up to use a sql command from a variable, and the variable is an expression
that substitutes the tab name into an otherwise-constant sql statement like this:
    SELECT F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F8, F9, F10, F11, F12, F13, F14, F15, F16, F17, F18, F19, F20, F21, F22,
    F23, F24, F25, F26, F27, F28, F29, F30, F31, F32 FROM [Securities Portfolio$]
The "First row has column names" box in the excel connection manager is not marked.
Here's the thing: this works for most of the tabs. The one above works. However, three of them are causing the following error:
The SQL command requires 2 parameters, but the parameter mapping only has 0 parameters.
I've modified the package to print all of the SQL statements used in the log file. The only difference is in the tab name. None have any question marks, which is what I thought SSIS used to mark parameters. I can't figure out what causes this, or even how
thw failing SQL queries are different than the ones that work:
    SELECT F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F8, F9, F10, F11, F12, F13, F14, F15, F16, F17, F18, F19, F20, F21, F22,
    F23, F24, F25, F26, F27, F28, F29, F30, F31, F32 FROM [Capital - Part1$]SELECT F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F8, F9, F10, F11, F12, F13, F14, F15, F16, F17, F18, F19, F20, F21, F22,
    F23, F24, F25, F26, F27, F28, F29, F30, F31, F32 FROM [Capital - Part2$]SELECT F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F8, F9, F10, F11, F12, F13, F14, F15, F16, F17, F18, F19, F20, F21, F22,
    F23, F24, F25, F26, F27, F28, F29, F30, F31, F32 FROM [Securities Sources$]
    Any help would be appreciated.

OK, I figured it out, and will write it here in case someone else has a similar issue, because I spent several hours on Google trying to figure out what was going on.
It turns out that not all of the worksheets actually HAVE 32 columns. It did not occur to me at first that this could be an issue, because when you open an Excel file in Excel, there are always more columns if you just scroll over more. However, the way
Microsoft Jet reads Excel files, each worksheet has a fixed number of columns.
The worksheets that were causing the issue were the ones that have fewer than 32 columns. If there are only 30 columns and I try to select F32, Microsoft Jet assumes that F32 is supposed to be the name of a parameter. As far as I can tell, SSIS 2008 does
not allow you to set up parameter values for use with Jet, but Jet will nevertheless parse your query and determine that there are parameters needed if it can't find some of the column names.
To get around this, I changed the step that gets the worksheet names to also return the number of columns in each worksheet, and then changed the query to return NULL for any columns that don't exist. So, for a worksheet having only 30 columns, I now run
    this:
    SELECT F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F8, F9, F10, F11, F12, F13, F14, F15, F16, F17, F18, F19, F20, F21, F22,
    F23, F24, F25, F26, F27, F28, F29, F30, NULL AS F31, NULL AS F32 FROM [Capital - Part1$]
    And that fixes it.

  • Does the new firmware,1.02.05 has M

Hey, i really want to know if the new firmware has MTP? And if i dont like, can I then go back to the 2.XX.XX firmware?
Is the new <FONT color=#333333>.02.05 firmware good?

It's brand new. Here's the description from the Downloads page:
    Creative Zen Micro Firmware .02.05ZENM-FWPDE-2-LB
This web release enables you to upgrade the firmware for your , 4, 5 or 6GB Creative Zen Micro player.
You can upgrade from Creative Zen Micro firmware .0.03 or earlier, or Zen Micro PlaysForSure? firmware 2.00.2 or later. After upgrading, you cannot go back to a previous Creative Zen Micro firmware version.
It has been reported by some of our customers that they have experienced reduced battery life after charging their Zen Micro. Our product development team has researched these reports and determined that the users may have experienced this after they plugged their Zen Micro into the AC adapter that was already inserted into a wall socket with the AC power on.
While this is not the conventional way to plug in a player for charging, we wanted to ensure that our customers did not experience this problem, so we have developed a solution to address this, which simply involves upgrading the Zen Micro's firmware.
If you need assistance in doing this, please contact our customer support team and they will be happy to assist you.
Important: If you are upgrading from PlaysForSure firmware, be sure to back up all the audio and data files on your Zen Micro before installing this firmware update as all content will be <I>lost</I> when you install the new firmware. After installing the new firmware, use Creative MediaSource? to restore audio and/or data files to your player.

  • Why does the down arrow button scroll content up?

The new logic/behavior with swiping up/down is now: "you are moving the content, not the scrollbar"
I can accept this as a somewhat good logic. It makes sense..
But should'nt the arrow keys behave the same way to make this behavior/logic consistent?
The arrow key down still scrolls the content up (if you think like that)
Or does the arrow keys scroll the scroller down.. Well which is it?

That would change the trackpad behavior, which is not what I'm looking for, but thank you
I'm just asking about the arrow keys and the logic behind the new natural navigation

  • Best Buy has Zero iPhone4s but the AT&T store NEXT DOOR has 80 (with more arriving!)

Best Buy in Mount Laurel, NJ (1400 Nixon Drive) has ZERO iPhone 4s as of 6 PM on 6/28. Despite preordering on the 15th and I am still waiting with no word on when my phone will be in.
So I call the AT&T store that is located NEXT DOOR @ 1420 Nixon Drive. I mean it is literally right next door in the strip mall. I'm told that they received 80 phones today and are expecting a shipment of 60 to 80 MORE phones tomorrow. The rep told me that they will have extra phone for walk-ins, but it's going to be first come-first served, etc.
    I mean, C'MON! It's like a bad joke.
I've heard the arguement "it's not us, it's Apple" from Best Buy, but I guess I'm not clear on why Best Buy seems to have no leverage to get their pre-orders expedited.
Heck, I don't understand why Best Buy can't, at minimum, get a straight answer from Apple about where/when Best Buy will be getting replenishment stock.
As a customer, I don't care who's "fault" it is - in my opinion, it's Best Buy's fault. Obviously, there's no universal shortage of iPhone 4s when the AT&T store is getting extras and Best Buy can't fullfill it's preorders from the 15th.
IMO, the problem is that Best Buy must have a pretty weak relationship with Apple to be treated this way. As a small business owner, if one of my suppliers was jerking me around like this, I'd sever the relationship. (Sure, I know this is more complex, but the principle is that Best Buy has a bunch of angry customers due to Apple's lack of support. That's a BAD business relationship, when your partners force you to lose crediblilty with customers).
I'll never pre-order from Best Buy again. But you can blame Apple for that ...

It simply amazes me that Best Buy continues to point fingers away from themselves.  I understand the RS situation.  They've never been what I'd consider an outlet for this type of situation.  While sad, RS's ineptitude doesn't surprise me.  Best Buy's does.
That tells me there are more fundamental problems with Best Buy.  They either don't have a good relationship with their vendors (in this case, Apple).  Or, they really don't have a handle on inventory and shipping basics.  Maybe, as has been suggested, there's something amiss with employees taking the customer pre-orders and putting their family and friends in front of them.  Still, this has happened at seemingly every Best Buy store.  That tells me the problems with Best Buy are very widespread.
As I posted before, I just walked into an AT&T store yesterday and bought a 32GB iPhone 4, no reservations.  Others have reported doing the same.  AT&T probably has fewer stores than Best Buy.  And, from what I can tell, have smaller iPhone stock than Best Buy.  Yet, they handled it much better.
All pre-orders were filled first.  Then, walk-ups were allowed to buy.  No employees were allowed to buy them, under any circumstance, for anyone, until the customers were taken care of first.  Simple concept.  Apparently, too simple for Best Buy to understand.
