Does weblogic use 7001 to listen ssl request?

hi,all
I have configured apache plug-in (redhat 6.0,apache1.3.19,weblogic5.1sp8).But
I notice in httpd.conf there the weblogic port is 7001.
<IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
WebLogicHost localhost
WebLogicPort 7001
</IfModule>
Then what protocol is used between the plug in and wellogic?
http or https?
If it is https, why weblogic's port is 7001 ,not 7002?
Can somebody explain this to me? Thanks.

How does weblogic determine which DDL to use when          > creating JMS persistent store?
The DDL is stored in the weblogic.jar, and a particular DDL is chosen automically based on driver meta-data.
Version 9.0 (out in beta), provides the option of administratively configuring the DDL file location.
For unsupported drivers, versions prior to 9.0 require manually running a DDL file to create the JDBC store's backing tables (see JMS doc).

When an application wants to make a connection to a server for internet or updates it presents a signed server connection request. Recently, in order to get Firefox to connect to the internet, I have to approve unsigned server connection requests even though I know unsigned requests are open to abuse from hackers. • Does Weblogic 5.1 support the STANDARD javax.servlet.request.X509Certificate attribute?

    Hello!
My strong suspicion from looking at the Weblogic SSL documentation on
http://e-docs.bea.com is that WebLogic SSL does not put any client-side
    certificates into the 'javax.servlet.request.X509Certificate' attribute
of a servlet's HttpServletRequest (as an array of
    java.security.cert.X509Certificate instances).
Currently, it appears that Weblogic uses a proprietary attribute name
('weblogic.security.somethingOrOther') and returns instances of the
    deprecated Java 1.1 java.security.Certificate class.
When will Weblogic support this aspect of the Servlet 2.2 specification,
    if it doesn't already?
    Regards,
    James W.

I just verified this with the Java doc. Either the Java documentation is
incorrect or we are still using the older version of the certificate
encoding class. I will check on this, we may have fixed it in a subsequent
    service pack.

  • Multiple weblogic instances using IIS to proxy the requests

I have a need to run multiple weblogic instances using IIS as the web
    server.
Does anyone know if this is possible. I am aware and have been able to run
multiple weblogic servers as an nt service,
but in those cases weblogic was being called and IIS was being bypassed.
Now the user base wishes to use IIS to proxy the requests.
I have been able to set IIS to forward using the .jhtml and .jsp file
extensions to the iisproxy.dll, but have not been able to forward these
requests to multiple weblogic instances. When the request is made it is
only looking in the first instance of weblogic for the request.
Is it possible to use weblogic and IIS with two or more weblogic instances,
without weblogic acting as a webserver.
I dont believe this is possible but I need to find out if this really is the
    case.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

You need run each IIS web server instance in its own memory space. This can
be set through the Management Console for IIS.

We tried to do this & Weblogic doesn't support this config. We opened upa

that IIS & NT proxies .JSP pages to the weblogic servers. It's very
unstable this way & I wouldn't recommend this config.
We switched to Apache with virtual hosts to do this & it works fine. It's
probably not the answer you want to hear, but it works very well.

We tried to do the same thing.
We copied iisproxy.dll and iisproxy.ini to server1 and let IIS use this.dll

We copied the iisproxy.dll and iisproxy.ini to server 2, renamed
iisproxy.dll to iisproxy2.dll (to make sure another instance was used)
    and
let the second iis site use iisproxy2.dll, but that didn't worked. (It
doesn't read the iisproxy.ini file located in the same directory as the.dll
file, altough in the manual it says it checks this first.) Now, I thinkit's
possosible to use several iisproxy.dll's as long as you rename it so
    each
get it's own instance, the only problem is that each .dll doesn't readthe
correct iisproxy.ini file. (BEA, is this for SP7?)

    Hi,
Thanks for that info. It seems the installer failed to create the database. When I tried to create a new database with the wizard it failed saying it could not modify the configuration files. There were no files open, no services running and explorer was not open. So I assume that there is something up with permissions so I added the user to permissions on the folders and child objects and am trying again to delete/create the database. After that the database completed correctly.
However, we still get the same error message and also the database service was not created properly.
We are now uninstalling 10g and re-installing 10g as a new user in a new directory.
The install went smoothly, with no erros, which suggests to me that the previous install was incorrect. However no the listener will not start and thows no errors.
I am getting another blank Windows vm and starting over fresh... Thanks

  • Does Weblogic 8.1 use Apache web service libraries

Does Weblogic 8.1 use Apache web service libraries ? I've been pressured to include the apache web service libraries, but have been resistant. I was later told by those wanting me to include the apache libraries that weblogic uses the apache libraries, but I have not found any evidence of it.
Can some confirm or deny this?
    Thanks,
    Eddie

Hosting an Apache web service inside WLS is basically deploying the Apache service as a webapp in WLS. And in the webapp's WEB-INF\lib folder you would have the Apache libraries.

  • How does WebLogic 8.1 get the BASE HREF value?

We have a WebLogic 8.1 SP4 server with a Juniper DX load balancer in front. We are trying to get Juniper to handle all the SSL traffic for the WebLogic application. Between Juniper and WebLogic, it would be just HTTP and between Juniper and web clients it would be HTTPS. One of the main issues we are seeing is that Struts HTML:BASE tag is returning the Juniper address as we expected, with the correct SSL port and application context/paths. However, the protocol for this base href is set to HTTP and not HTTPS. Consequently, our pages do not load properly.
I am trying to understand where this value comes from. The underlying code uses request.getScheme() to get the protocol. So, we could "customize" the tags to work around this, but that is a hack that I am trying to avoid. I assume that the HTTP stack that WebLogic 8.1 uses is providing this info from the HTTP request. Does this come from the web browser? How does WebLogic get this to put it into the request object in the web container? We have sniffed the HTTP headers on the web client side and we cannot see where this is coming from.

I remember facing a similar issue with webloigc 8.1 and apache
I dont think its a problem with the tag..
    I think i have changed the transport-guarantee in web.xml
If you have NONE try setting that to CONFIDENTIAL and vice versa

  • Does any one implemented solution for httpservlet request/response object in IWSDLInterceptor implemented class?

I am trying to handle Producer not available situation in which I am using Interceptor IWSDLInterceptor in WLP 10.3.4. I am able to retrieve exception using onWSDLException but from here if I have to forward my pageURL object I need httpservlet request and response. I tried my own filter class to have its own customize request and also tried it out all other Interceptor to see if any one can handle IOException. I did manage to throw my own Customize exception but  that also did not work out as Page does not have any backing file or any supportive Controller class.
Does any one implemented solution for httpservlet request/response object in IWSDLInterceptor implemented class? or do we have any specific documentation in regards to this? As I am not able to find much martial on IWSDLInterceptor except Java API from Oracle and article defining Two way SSL handshake Producer.
Any kind of help is appreciated.
    Thanks

Thanks Emmanuel for your response but render behavior is not available for IWSDLRequestContext/IWDSLResponseContext object which IWSDLInterceptor uses for implementation.
Let me put my question in little simpler manner. May be my approach to the problem is not proper.
Problem : Handle Producer Not available (no application exists on server) on consumer side.
So far tried approach : Producer is not running then I am able to handle that TransportException at IInitCookieInterceptor/IHandleEventInterceptor onFault behaviour but in the case of Producer not even exists Consumer try to get WSDL fetch operation and failed with FileNotFoundException.
To handle this exception, I used IWSDLInterceptor which is available under IWSDLInterceptor.OnWSDLException (Oracle Fusion Middleware Java API for Oracle WebLogic Portal)
I am able to catch the exception but problem arise when application needs to forward at specific page/render portlet for this situation. For that it required request/response object but IWSDLInterceptor does not give any kind of instances to redirect request as there is no direct access to HTTPServlet request/response object.
I tried my custom request object to use there. I tried out custom filter object of IWSDLrequestContext. nothing works.
One approach works is to put producer WSDL file at consumer level. But in that, you need to handle different producer files for different environment. Which I don't think its a good approach.
eAny one Let me know if my approach to the problem/scenario is wrong. Or if I am missing out any other supporting interface which also required to handle this scenario. or I am using wrong interface for this scenario.
Thanks for your help in advance.

  • Weblogic 6.1 setup for SSL/HTTPS

    Hi all,
i have written a programe to send HTTPS requests (using JSSE) to a JSP/Servlet , and my qustion is do i need to change any default settings of Weblogic server SSL properties for this, if so what are the changes i have to make. Then how to create .pem files.
    thanks in advance

I think you could directly use the demo license certificate from the Weblogic itself and tried to request from your ssl port (default is https://<your domain name>:7002/<servlet name>.
How to create a .pem file?
Well, you can use the web app in Weblogic named certificate to create certificate request. (http://localhost:7001/certificate)
Then after you generate the certificate request, you have to ask a CA to sign the cert request for you and give you the real certificate.
Then you have to load you cert and the key in the SSL config page (can be configured from your weblogic console) and you are good to go!
Check out openssl.org for more information on creating your own CA and many complex things ...
    And good luck ...
    Cheers,
    Dody

  • Does WebLogic internally have its own webserver?

    Hi All,
    Consider my environment:
There are two Solaris servers, both having Application1 deployed over WebLogic.
On the first server, when I start the application - OHS, WebLogic and then finally the application starts up fine. The below confirms that OHS is running.
    Server1:
    <pre>
    bash-3.2$ ps -efc | grep httpd.worker | grep -v grep
    user1 9873 9872 TS 59 07:09:44 ? 0:04 /opt/shared/apps/hyperion/Oracle/Middleware/ohs/ohs/bin/httpd.worker -DSSL
    user1 9882 9873 TS 59 07:09:53 ? 0:00 /opt/shared/apps/hyperion/Oracle/Middleware/ohs/ohs/bin/httpd.worker -DSSL
    user1 9883 9873 TS 59 07:09:53 ? 0:10 /opt/shared/apps/hyperion/Oracle/Middleware/ohs/ohs/bin/httpd.worker -DSSL
    </pre>
On Server2, the WebLogic starts up fine and deploys the application correctly. But OHS does not start up. OHS is configured to listen on port 19000 on both the servers.
I understand that the Application1 runs as a WebLogic managed server, but doesn't WebLogic sit on top of OHS? As I cannot see the OHS web server process, I am not sure how Application1 runs without the OHS webserver. Can anyone throw some light on this?
Note that I am new to Oracle Fusion Middleware and still working on understanding the concepts of how it all fits together. so any guidance will be very much appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi
OHS and Weblogic MS (Managed Server) are two different components.
Which port did you used to access your application. If you are using OHS listen port and accessing the application. There is a plug-in in between OHS and Weblogic. That is doing the request routing.
Also you can access your application directly from Weblogic server using Managed servers listen port.

  • Cluster/load balance weblogic using L4 switch like Alteon

Can I install weblogic as a standalone server on 2 or more server and
cluster/load balance weblogic using a hardware balancer like Alteon Layer4
switch (of course I will use a centralised storage to maintain a single copy
of data which will eliminate syncronizing problem among servers)?
BTW, Alteon can support persistent binding. The reason to use a Layer 4
switch is that it is very fast, and this will make the application server
layer transparent to client, the client can think this is a single server
(it don't need to know whether there are 5 weblogic servers or 20 weblogic
servers behind switch), and hardware are more reliable, sacalable and fast.
I am not sure whether the normal weblogic clustered servers need to
share/exchange info on the running memory, if it does, this approach will
              fail.

    So My understanding is:
Alteon with WL 6.0 can do load balancing for:
              entity bean
              stateless session bean
but can't do load balancing for:
stateful session bean (will persistent/sticky binding solve part of the
              problem except fail-over)
              in-memory replication
              am I right?

  • Issue while creating connection pool in weblogic using SERVICE NAME

Found two issues while creating connection pool in weblogic using SERVICE NAME
    1. While running apps from jdeveloper using xxx-jdbc.xml
weblogic.common.ResourceException: Could not create pool connection. The DBMS driver exception was: Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
         at weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.ConnectionEnvFactory.createResource(ConnectionEnvFactory.java:253)
         at weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourcePoolImpl.makeResources(ResourcePoolImpl.java:1109)
         at weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourcePoolImpl.makeResources(ResourcePoolImpl.java:1033)
         at weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourcePoolImpl.start(ResourcePoolImpl.java:214)
         at weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.ConnectionPool.doStart(ConnectionPool.java:1051)
    2. Configuriing the jndi in Weblogic server
weblogic.common.ResourceException: Could not create pool connection. The DBMS driver exception was: Listener refused the connection with the following error:
ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor
The Connection descriptor used by the client was:
    localhost:1521:SERVICENAME
         at weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.ConnectionEnvFactory.createResource(ConnectionEnvFactory.java:253)
         at weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourcePoolImpl.makeResources(ResourcePoolImpl.java:1109)
         at weblogic.common.resourcepool.ResourcePoolImpl.makeResources(ResourcePoolImpl.java:1033)
    Problem
database url is generated based on SID
    eg: jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:SID
    Solution
(generate seperate url for SERVICE NAME)
    jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521/SERVICENAME
    ------------------------

It is so clear: host not found error for network connection and the other SID servcie name not found means your oracle instance name is not up. check with srvctl status for given servcie name or node, else check CRS_Stat -t if you are using RAC.
