Doesn't Sort data in Ascending order in Hash Table?

Hello
I am using JSP, Servlets. After quering in servlets, putting data in HashTable then set attribute in servlets, get attribute in JSP & retrieving data from HashTable in JSP & putting in select html element, data is not coming in ascending order in select drop down box. I need A,B,C,D but it is coming b,d,c,a. When I run query in DB, it shows in sequence but after putting in HashTable, it is not coming in sequence.
How to make it ascending?
Looking forward for an early reply.
Thanks.

Hi
Something to do with TreeMap(TreeSet). I tried with TreeSet but it didn't work. Here is the code :
In servlet :
Connection lConnection = getConnection(pRequest);
String lSQL = "";
Statement lStatement;
ResultSet lResultSet;
Hashtable lLtypeHashtable = new Hashtable();
lStatement = lConnection.createStatement();
lSQL = "SELECT RCID,RCMEANING FROM REFERENCECODES WHERE RCDOMAIN = 'LOCATIONTYPE' AND RCROWSTATE > 0 order by RCMEANING";
lResultSet = lStatement.executeQuery(lSQL);
while(lResultSet.next())
String lRcid = lResultSet.getString(1);
String lRcmeaning = lResultSet.getString(2);
lLtypeHashtable.put(lRcid.trim(),lRcmeaning.trim());
if(lResultSet != null) lResultSet.close();
if(lStatement != null) lStatement.close();
pRequest.setAttribute("LtypeHashtable",lLtypeHashtable);
//Below Query is executed when one data from select element is selected
String lLType = DisplayUtilities.getString(pRequest.getParameter("LType"),true);
//LType is name of select element in JSP.
if (lLType != null)
lSQL = lSQL + " AND " + lUpperCaseFunction + "(LOCATIONTYPE)" +
" = " + DBUtilities.formatString(lLType.toUpperCase());
pRequest.setAttribute("rLType",lLType+"");
In JSp :
<%
Hashtable lLtypeHashtable = (Hashtable)request.getAttribute("LtypeHashtable");
%>
<TR>
<TD width="15%"> <div align="left">
<select name="LType" size="1" >
<option Value="">< Select ></option>
<%
if(lLtypeHashtable != null)
Enumeration enum = lLtypeHashtable.keys();
while(enum.hasMoreElements())
String key = (String)enum.nextElement();
String value = (String)lLtypeHashtable.get(key);
String flagBack = "";
if(key.equals((String)request.getAttribute("rLType")))
flagBack = "selected";
%>
<option Value="<%=key%>" <%=flagBack%>><%=value%></option>
<%
%>
</select></div>
</TD>
</TR>
How should I implement TreeSet?
Looking forward for an early reply.
Thanks.

  • How to sort data in descending order when user clicks on the column heading

    Hi
    I have a report called "Top customers", which shows the top customers for a specific product line. It displays the customer name and one column with the total amount spent in the period for each product line. By default, the leftmost product line is sorted in descending order.
    If the user wants to know who are the top customers for another product line, they simply click on the column heading to sort the list by that column.
    The problem is that when you click for the first time on a sortable column heading, Apex sorts it in ascending order; you need to click on the same column heading again to sort in descending order.
    Is it possible to change this behaviour and sort the data in descending order in the first click? So the users don't have to click twice...
    Thanks
    Luis
    PS: Apex 3 running on Oracle 10.2.0

    Luis,
    See: Can I "catch" a click on a sortable column header of a report?
    Take a look at Anton Nielsen's answer with regards to hiding a column and displaying its value instead of the sortable column.
    Asumming the following simple report query:
    select product,sales
    from <table>
    Change that into:
    select product
    ,sales*-1 as reverse_sales -- Select this one as an extra column
    ,sales -- Hide this column
    from <table>
    In your report column attributes (of column reverse_sales), html-expression, type #sales#. It then displays the normal sales. However apex will generate a 'order by 2 asc' for the first time. The '2' will refer to the sales*-1 value: sorting it asc, is the same as sorting sales descending...

  • How To: Sort Numbers in Ascending Order in a Generated List

    Greetings! How do I set up a Generated List of Paragraphs so that it sorts in true ascending order? What I want is:
    1.1
    1.2
    1.3
    1.4
    1.5
    1.6
    1.7
    1.8
    1.9
    1.10
    I have tried every trick I can think of with the sort order listed on the reference page. But all I can get is something that sorts by individual number (ignoring the numeric value) like:
    1.1
    1.10
    1.11
    1.2
    1.20
    1.21
    1.3
    Any help is much appreciated!

    Hello there, Michael! Thanks so much for looking at my post! Alas, the LOP will not work. I should have explained more, but it was so complicated I thought folks would give up reading.
    Here's the best I can render it without getting permission to share a good example document. I do not blame anyone if it's too cumbersome or convoluted to wade through...
    This is a requirements document which has sort of a "legal" tinge to it--as the document evolves we must maintain traceability for individual requirements. This means, for example:
    Version 1 - I have requirements 1 and 2.
    Version 2 - I need to add a new requirement, which should appear before requirement 1 in the document. Even though it comes before requirement 1 in the document, numerically it will be requirement 3 and requirement 1 will remain requirement 1.
    Version 3 - I need to remove requirement 2. Even though I now have only 2 requirements, their numbers will not change (they remain requirements 1 and 3, appearing in reverse order).
    Version 4 - I need to move requirement 3 to be after requirement 1. Again, the requirements keep their original number, even though their position has changed and there is no longer a "requirement 2" number in use.
    Originally, I told the team (I'm doing this for a different dept), that they would have to hand-number requirements, which they did for a while. But that was getting very cumbersome, and the scenarios above are limited to one or two occurrences per document. So I created an auto-number sequence for them to use in the initial version and added a little smoke-and-mirrors work process to take care of changes in later versions. The last bit of chicanery I cannot get to work is the index...
    Even if there are no changes to the requirements after the initial version, the index still does not sort in ascending numeric order. It was working with the hand-numbered requirements because they were using leading zeros. But without being able to include leading zeros in the auto-numbering formats (I tried the "use a zero as a tab leader" solution and like to have thrown my new monitor out of the window), I cannot find a solution.
    Or rather, I think the solution is "you have to hand-number requirements".
    For anyone who has made it this far, I truly appreciate your time and patience!

  • TopLink doesn't sort data received using Named query

    Hello!
    I'm trying to build a Tree table using a TopLink Named query in my application.
    There are Id, Parent|_Id, Code and Name columns in the corresponding database table, where Id and Parent|_Id are linked together by Foreign key (typical tree). I used TopLink to describe this table in the Model part of my application. There I wrote a Named query, without using a query constructor (not Expression radio button, but SQL radio button). Here the text of query:
    select * from regions a connect by prior a.Id = a.Parent_Id start
    with a.Id is null order by a.Code
    Then I created a Data control and tried to build a JSF page with data based on this query, as tree-table.
    But I discovered the fact, that data under the same node on the same leaf level of the Tree are not sorted by code on the JSF page. For example, data may be situated as follows (Code - Name):
    2. wwwwwwwwwwww
    2.3.kkkkkkkkkkkk
    2.1.fffffffffffffffffffff
    2.2.oooooooooo
    1. qqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq
    1. 2. lllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
    1. 1. hhhhhhhhhhhhhh
    etc.
    I verified this query on other environment (PL/SQL Developer, SQL+), but didn't found such unsorted results anywhere.
    Please, give me an advice to avoid this problem.
    Thanks.

  • To populate data in standard order from internal table

    Hi ppl,
              I want to populate data from  my internal table into stndard order in crm.i.e i also have to create a new order,and display those values in the general tab of crmd_order transaction.
      For this purpose which transaction should be used?i have tried using crm_order_maintain,but wht are the mandatory fields for this transaction.
    and if any other function module can be used for this purpose.
    Pleaseee help....

    Hi Vaishali,
    For existing order : You will have to pass the Header Guid of the line item which you are maintaining.
    For new order : For creating a line item, you must create a header in CRM.
    PS : Please see the where used list of the BAPI's you will come to know the usage.

  • UDF for sorting date

    Hi Guys,
    I am doing scenario File to Idoc, i have to sort date in acending order, the date format will be in either 22.10.2007 or 22/10/2007 . can any one send UDF for this.
    Regards,
    venu gopal

    Hi Venu
    You can execute this without UDF. Use " Transform" function in the Date functions.
    When you are using the UDF....you keep the strucure as "yyyMMddhhmmss" for that clickon Trnasform function and there you can see ShowAdvancedProperties...there u can find the format of the source which you are expecting and also change the strucutre of you target expected format.
    You please try this and check the mapping it will get execute.
    Use Standard Date Function DATATRANS. It have the property for format and input is the source date field. It will convert the date format to required specified format which you menstion in the DARTATRANS function
    for UDF
    Re: UDF  for this mapping rule
    Re: Problem in UDF please Help?

    Hi Bitia,
    To create workflow in SharePoint, I recommend to use SharePoint Designer to achieve this goal.
    Firstly, we need to allow the site to be edited in SharePoint Designer, please refer to the "SharePoint Designer settings page" part in the article below:
    https://support.office.com/en-ca/article/Managing-SharePoint-Designer-2010-e12d76ce-83f7-4dde-864c-6c1e210399b6#__toc254689397
    Secondly, we can install SharePoint Designer from the site or just download and install it.
    https://kb.pachosting.hk/article/how-to-install-sharepoint-designer-to-edit-site-content-9333.html
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=16573
    After that, we can use SharePoint Designer to create workflow:

  • Updating Scheduling data for Purchase Order

    Hi,
    I need a function module which can update the scheduling data for purchase order in EKET table. Normally we create Purchase Order as a reference from purchase requisition through BAPI_PO_CREATE1. That time it takes care of all the scenarios. But as per the requirement I want to create a PO which is created from more than one Purchase Requistions so I can't use the said BAPI. But still I am using this BAPI and after creation is completed I am updating the Requistions. The same scenario is taken care in ME59N, but I can't copy that code because of some requirements. So could any one please give me the idea to replicate the same functionality with any function module or other ways.
    Thanks

    try to pass all u sheduling related fields to POSCHEDULE and make sure u have enabled POSCHEDULEX along with sheduling related fields .....also (if no changes  are there  leave it with space )...
    this will definetly update not only eket table ....it will update every table regarding to purchase order,ekpo,ekko,eket ...etc

  • Can I turn off grouping by date in Finder and also 'Arrange by' and 'Sort by' in ascending and descending order?

    I am trying to arrange my photostream saved search (which doesn't update automatically after I did the search for the first time which is very annoying) but finder won't let me arrange in ascending order of date (i.e.: oldest to newest). Is there a way I can do this or will my folder arrangements always be the one way without the option to change it to the opposite arrangement (same for alphabetical). Also, Finder automatically arranges my photos into groups of dates (e.g.: 'previous 30 days', 'September'). Is there any way I can turn this off?
    Also if anyone can fix this stupid photostream issue for me that would be great!
    thanks very much

    Even in list view, the photos are grouped by previous seven days, previous 30 days, October, and so on.. there is no option i see that will let me change to order by date modified without these groupings or to just turn these groupings off altogether
    but thank you for your reply

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to sort the subsite based on the date in descending order.
    You can refer to the following code snippets, it sorts the subsites by the date in descending order.
    <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.10.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    // When the body is loaded, the onload event handler executes each function whose name is contained in this array.
    _spBodyOnLoadFunctionNames.push("callCSOM");
    function callCSOM()
    $("#Button1").click(function()
    ExecuteOrDelayUntilScriptLoaded(RetriveSites, "sp.js");
    var currentcontext = null;
    var currentweb = null;
    function RetriveSites()
    currentcontext = new SP.ClientContext.get_current();
    currentweb = currentcontext.get_web();
    this.subsites = currentweb.get_webs();
    currentcontext.load(this.subsites);
    currentcontext.executeQueryAsync(Function.createDelegate(this, this.ExecuteOnSuccess),
    Function.createDelegate(this, this.ExecuteOnFailure));
    function ExecuteOnSuccess(sender, args)
    var subsites = '';
    var enum1 = this.subsites.getEnumerator();
    var siteCreatedTime = '';

  • Is it possible to sort photos by date in descending order?

    In the new Yosemite Photos app my photos are displayed in ascending order by date. The oldest photos are at the top and I must scroll all the way down to view the newest photos. In iPhoto I was able to change the sorting order so that the newest photos were always at the top. Is there a way to do this in the Photos app?

    No, sorry, that sort option is still missing.

  • SPGridView - sorting Dates doesn't work properly & how to display the title column as link?

    Hi,
    I've got a SPGridView that is being filled with data from several lists. Some of them are a date-field and a title-field. I already added sorting, paging and filtering options and at first look they seem to work fine. But now I noticed that sorting dates
    doesn't work as expected. If I select ascending sorting, the result is something like this:
    01.08.2014
    02.08.2014
    17.07.2014
    18.07.2014
    23.07.2014
    If I select descending sorting, the result is this:
    23.07.2014
    18.07.2014
    17.07.2014
    02.08.2014
    01.08.2014
    This isn't what I want obviously.
    I just added the EventReceiver for the sorting like it is shown in several tutorials:
    (The date field is a BoundField.)
    grid.Sorting += new GridViewSortEventHandler(grid_Sorting);
    private void grid_Sorting(object sender, GridViewSortEventArgs e)
    if (ViewState["FilterExpression"] != null)
    gridDS.FilterExpression = (string)ViewState["FilterExpression"];
    And my second problem is how to add a link to the title column. In my grid I'm displaying tasks from different lists and I want to link the title to the related task. I stumbled accross HyperLinkFields and tried this:
    HyperLinkField hyperLinkField = new HyperLinkField();
    hyperLinkField.DataTextField = "Titel";
    hyperLinkField.DataNavigateUrlFields = new string[] { "Titel" };
    hyperLinkField.DataNavigateUrlFormatString = "{0}";
    hyperLinkField.HeaderText = "Titel";
    hyperLinkField.SortExpression = "Titel";
    grid.Columns.Add(hyperLinkField);
    The resulting link is something like ...sites/MySite/_catalogs/masterpage/A1-V1-2 where "A1-V1-2" is the name of the task and also shown in the title field.
    The actual link should look more like ...sites/MySite/Lists/mytasklistname/DispForm.aspx?ID=.... or something like that to display the task details. How could I achieve that?
    Thanks in advance

    Here is the exact code you need to use:
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/ar/sharepointcustomization/thread/c463a8c6-4806-4233-b6a4-8db8369c5fc2
    http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/53459/change-title-linked-to-item-with-edit-menu-to-different-column
    Open the AllItems.aspx page for the specific list.
    Search for the <ViewFields> tag
    List item LinkToItem="TRUE" to whichever column you want the link:
    <ViewFields><br/>
    <FieldRef Name="Attachments"/><br/>
    <FieldRef Name="LinkTitle"/><br/>
    <FieldRef Name="linkThisColumn" LinkToItem="TRUE"/><br/>
    <FieldRef Name="data_x0020_column"/><br/>
    <FieldRef Name="Another_x0020_column"/><br/>
    </ViewFields><br/>
    http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/58954/link-title-in-list-to-value-in-url-column
    Create calculated column.
    Insert following formula -
    ="<a href='"&UrlFieldName&"'>"&Title&"</a>"
    Set "data type returned from this formula is" to integer.
    As a result on list view you will see the title with link to your url.
    UPD: It seems that URL field is not valid for calculated column, as workaround you can copy url value in a receiver into the another text field, which is not shown on the view.

    Hi,
    Please check "Sorting" options in Query Designer.  They are defined for each characteristic placed at rows or columns.
    You can sort according to keys (InfoObject Primary Keys) or Name/Description (InfoObject Texts).  Perhaps the query is sorting but according to a criterion which is different from what it is expected.
    Another thing to take into account is the order in which columns are placed.  Sorting order is defined from left to right.
    For example, if the first column is 0CALDAY and the second is 0MATERIAL, the query first sorts by date and if there are records with the same date, it sorts according to material, and so forth.
    I hope this helps you.

    Maximiliano

    It's a lot easier than trying to manipulate the strring into yyyy/dd/mm format and sorting alphabetically.
