Dollar symbol as prefix?

Hello
I have a AMOUNT field on my_form. Because of good compatibility/data transfer i have defined it as a DECIMAL FIELD 12,3.
Data transfer is btwn my_form and back end system SAP / Oracle. Fine.
But, user want to have the below requirement:
Say, for example, user entered 10000 dollars, once user EXITs that field, adobe will make it formatting (bcz its defined as DECIMAL field) as 10,000. Fine
But, users want to see it as $10,000 (If its USA) if its Europe Euro symbol/local currency symbol as prefix.
Pls. let me know how can achieve my requirement (is it Pattern related or JavaScript will do it)?
Thank you

    On the object palette select the display pattern (click the little down arrow on the left of the button)
    Then select num.currency()

  • How can I change/hack double-click behavior to include a preceding dollar symbol in the selection?

    99.999% of times I double-click a word preceded of a $ (dollar) symbol, it is a variable name, and I want to COPY it along with the word, so I don't have to re-type it when pasting it.
    Even in preview mode / visual view / when typing into actual text, I can't imagine a scenario where the dollar sign would not be part of the following word.
    Is there any way to make this dumb behavior smarter?
    Hacking into the DW files? Hacking into MacOS files?
    Thanks.

    epub is a specific format that may require another app - I don't know what that would be on 10.5.
    You can get info on the file in Finder (select the file, choose File Menu > Get Info…) the 'Open with' section will allow you to select other apps & you can also change this file & apply it to all files of that kind.
    That should solve your issue, but you still may need an ebook reader.

  • I want to delete the euro symbol and restore thr dollar symbol.  Ihave English and qwerty selected in settings

    I have somehow changed the dollar symbol to a euro symbol.  I have english and qwerty selected insettings

    Settings>General>Keyboard>International>English>U.S. is it set like that?
    If you tap the 123 key and then tap the #+= key you can toggle between the $ and the euro sign on the U.S. English keyboard.

  • AppleWorks gives me Pound signs . . .  I NEED the dollar symbol . . .  HELP

    I need help!!
    AppleWorks was working perfectly on my G4. I use spreadsheets a lot. But after I installed it on my new Mac Mini every time I try to place a dollar sign in front of an entry I get a pound symbol instead. I've checked the Preferences in AppleWorks and have double-checked that I have US English selected in International. I've trashed all the Preferences files and even uninstalled and reinstalled the application. I'm no newcomer to either Macs or AppleWorks and it is driving me nuts that I can't figure this out.
    Any ideas on what may be happening here or a workaround??

    This problem (and some possible solutions) was discussed in this thread back in July. As the problem persists on my G4 iBook, OS X 10.4.x, I look forward to further suggestions.
    I'm away from my machine for much of the day today, but will be back this evening with a possible workaround.

    Chris,
    You may be right. Also it requires some configuration in SAP KPro ( document class etc).

    Did you check the patch cluster log file for any clues?
    /var/sadm/install_data/Solaris_10_Recommended_Patch_Cluster_log
    Once you find the reason for the failure of a bunch of patches, probably the best thing is to re-install the cluster patch {after fixing the errors you found in the patch cluster log}.

  • Insert euro dollar symbol in database?

    I want to store euro symbol in database. I get exception wheverever I tries to store through insert. This is because it's a french character. Does NLS parameter has something to do? Pls tell me.

    The ASCII - Code for the EUR-Symbol is 128. So you could try to insert CHR(128) into the table.

  • Dollar Symbol

    Whenever I hit the "$" symbol on my 8330, it shows what looks like the British pound sign. Does anyone know how to change this so the US $ sign shows instead?

  • Where a  symbol is prefixed to a currency symbol, in this case £, Explorer and Safari do not display the  but Firefox does, is there a workaround or what is correct?

    Seems to be any page with these characters.

    This happens when the website is viewed with the wrong character encoding.
    Try view > Character encoding > UTF8 (or some others)

  • Euro symbol - numberConverter

    Hi, i'm tryng to format a number with the euro symbol as prefix.
    How must be set the pattern property in order to show the euro symbol?
    I try first with dollar symbol and works (pattern=$###,###.##) but if i try with the unicode (pattern=\u20AC###,###.##) like the jsf tutorial (http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/i18n/format/decimalFormat.html) the symbol doesn't appear.
    Thanks
    Gianni

    Thanks Giri your solution works on but only if i don't set locale for my app.
    When i set or change the locale of my app with this code:
    javax.faces.context.FacesContext fctx = javax.faces.context.FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    java.util.Locale locn =new java.util.Locale("it_IT");
    fctx.getViewRoot().setLocale(locn);
    numberConverter2.setLocale(locn);
    numberConverter2.setPattern(" ###,##0.00");then euro symbol is replaced by the "" .
    The wrong symbol remain also if i set "en_US" as locale.
    Note that the page Language is set to "it-IT" .
    Tanks

  • How to add comma and dollar sign that places automatically in input text field

    I have this ROI calculator which has several text input field
    on frame one with calculate and reset buttons. When a user enters
    numerical values in the text field, and jumping to the next field,
    I want the input text filed be updated with dollar sign and with
    comma.
    Next when they hit "ENTER" key or click "Calculate ROI"
    button, all the input text fields on frame 2 as a result of
    calculations be updated with dollar sign and comma. I also need
    that once the comma sign is assigned then it would not add any more
    even if user presses the button. Can someone help me in
    this?

    If you want to Set the Comma when you Switch to next Text
    Field
    Use onKillFocus / onSetFocus Functions.
    to restrict multiple comma, Before Adding comma use
    myText.text =
    myText.text.split(",").join("").split("$").join("");
    So this will give you the value without Comma and Dollar
    symbol, Now add the Comma and dollar.
    or you need to use a Flag for onChange Event.

  • Add a dollar sign in the output of a field.

    How do I add a dollar sign to a dynamic money field? I am not allowed to leave a space between the dollar sign and the money amount. My data contains 200.00 or 1000.00 and I need a dollar sign in front of any amount.

    Hi,
    there are a few ways that you can achieve this...
    if you are using the transformation agent to transform your data you can add it in the tdf...
    eg
    ^field price
    $@price
    not using tranformatio agent ? then in output
    you can also do it in the form by using the format event...
    In the properties of the field click the full format option and add the following...
    $@(Ltrim ("@_$_."))
    the @_$_. contains the current value of the field so this expression will left trim the field to make sure there are no spaces and then add the dollar symbol to it before inserting it onto the form.
    Syntax is very important when using events and preambles..
    the above is:
    dollar at openbracket Ltrim space openbracket openquote at underscore dollar underscore dot closequote closebracket closebracket.
    You can also use text substitution.
    To do this you need to make the variable global before you can use it...
    so... move your price field out of the way and in its properties make it global. (change it to noprint font to hide it)...
    Now when the field is filled, it will be saved in the global variable library and can be used again...
    Now create a text field and type in it $@price.       (assuming that your field was called price, the new variable is called price...)
    now in the text properties box of your new text click the text substitution field box...and that it...
    You can use your new variable as many times as you like on the page.
