Dom elements in different encodings

Hi
I'm creating a DOM element in memory, which should hold strings in all sorts of languages (English, Spanish, Russian, Chinese etc.). This elements are returned to the client via web-services with no problems.
I now need to support devices that do not support UTF-8. I can get from the client the charset it needs, but I need to create the DOM element in the requested charset - how can I do that?
As I understand - all my Strings are held in memory as Unicode Strings, what I don't know how to do is to encode the XML in the correct charset.
Thanks

hi,
I guess it was not transported properly.
I would suggest to create a transport request and add the following line (this will tak everything related to the program):
R3TR PROG program_name
You have import this request ino the target system and it should work fine.
hope this helps

  • DOM Element Explorer

    Is there a way to inhibit the DOM element explorer input capability? I have an api that is pulling in a non encrypted macro and passing it in as a param to my form. I have the shell that redirects the link quickly so that the user can not change the url
    via the address bar, then I test the calling request header to make sure it's originating from our server.   This was the work around but someone has used the DOM element explorer and changed the query string parameter before the call and has gotten
    a different clients info.   Is there a way to mask the explorer and href?      Or disable Dev tools? Or make it output only?

    disable Dev tools?

  • How to use the same element in different photoshop files?

    It occurs to me often that I use the same element in different photoshop files, a header or footer shown in the example below. So when the footer changes in one document, I need to change this footer in every other single document.
    Is there a possibility to use some kind of template, one single document,  that can be placed in different files , which is still editable afterwards?
    Thanks in advance.
    I'm using Photoshop CS6

    In a single document you can have several pages and these pages may have headers and footers that share smart objects.  If you replace the contents of the an embedded smart object on one page page that is shared on an other page the pages you will see both pages contents are changed. For they share the common object.   It is also possibly to have independent smart object layers. It depends how you create the layers in the single document.
    Example one sharing a smart object hi-light a smart object layer and use menu layer>Duplicate Layer... This will create a second smart object layer that share a common smart object. Each layer has is own associated transform. Do it again and you will have three layers the share a common smart object. So you can use each layer associated transform to position and size the layers contents. Make a picture package for example. When you hi-light any of the three smart layers and you use menu Layer>Smart Objects>Replace Contents... all three layers contents will be replace with the new smart object.  Care must be taken to replace the smart object with an identical size object for only the object is replaced the three associated transform for the three layers are not replaced or changed.
    Example two independent smart objects  hi-light a smart object layer and use menu layer>Smart Objects>New Smart Object via Copy.  This will  create a second smart object layer that has it own embedded smart object copy.  Do it again and you will have three all have independent embedded smart object that are identical.  However they do not have to remain identical.  For example if the first smart object layer was created by using ACR to open a RAW file as a smart object layer the embedded object is a copy of the raw file and its associated RAW conversion settings.  Double clicking on one of the smart object layers and you will see ACR open on its embedded RAW file with the embedded RAW conversion setting.  Changing these settings will update the layer smart object content with new ACR setting and pixel when you click OK in ACR. Repeat for the third and you will find you have three different raw conversions in Photoshop you can mask and blend together to bring out detail.
    I think what your missing is that a smart object contains a copy of the original object.  Changing the original after creating a smart object layer in document will not effect the smart object layer at all. Its independant from the original having a copy of the original. Only changes to the smart object layer and its embedded smart object effect smart object layers.

  • How to instantiate a DOM Element in Forms to call Web Service?

    Hi All,
    I need to call a Java Class that has been converted into PL/SQL in order to run a Web Service.
    The PL/SQL function looks like this:
    -- Method: GetPIValue (Lorg/w3c/dom/Element;)Ljava/util/Vector;
    FUNCTION GetPIValue(
    obj ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT,
    a0 ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT) RETURN ORA_JAVA.JOBJECT IS

    cls := JNI.GET_CLASS('oracle/forms/demos/webservice/ConnectToPI');
    mid := JNI.GET_METHOD(FALSE, cls, 'GetPIValue', '(Lorg/w3c/dom/Element;)Ljava/util/Vector;');
    args := JNI.CREATE_ARG_LIST(1);
    JNI.ADD_OBJECT_ARG(args, a0, JNI.GET_CLASS('org/w3c/dom/Element'));
    RETURN JNI.CALL_OBJECT_METHOD(obj, mid, args);
    END;
    where "a0" is of org.w3c.dom.Element argument that is passed into the function as an obj_java.jobject.
    How can I create an ELEMENT object and call this function by passing this Element and its related Attributes. I have tried the following so far but I am getting this ERROR "Unable to call out to Java, Argument 1 can not be null.
    Element.setAttribute(param_1,
    'piTAG',

    It seems to be Complaining about "param_1" and it CANNOT BE NULL. How can I initialize or Create such an Object in Oracle Forms?
    Does any one have a Sample on how to Create an Element Object in PL/SQL?
    Your help is much appreciated.

The coding works, so that I have all the data at the right place in my table, only the images are shown as a string, because the cells of these rows have the cell editor Text_View. I tried something with cell variants (with cl_wd_table_standard_cell), but it was not possible for me to get a cell variant "image" in these cells/rows were I need it.
    I hope you understand my problem and now what to do here.

    Hello
    I am getting java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLText cannot be cast to org.w3c.dom.Element error. This code is in java which is present in java embedding.
    The SOA is parsing the xml in java code using oracle.xml.parser.v2 . This wont be a problem if the SOA uses default w3c DOM parser. How do i force SOA to use w3c DOM parser.
    Is there any thing i can do with class loading?
    Kindly help.

    Can you paste your java code here ? I assume, you must have tried type-casting.

    Hello all,
    I recently developed a app that utilizes a xml file for a database.
    I generated a war file and sent it to a co worker for deployment.
    He gets the following error when he tries to access a jsp
    javax.servlet.ServletException: org.w3c.dom.Element.getTextContent()Ljava/lang/String;
           org.apache.jasper.runtime.PageContextImpl.doHandlePageException(PageContextImpl.java:825)
           org.apache.jasper.runtime.PageContextImpl.handlePageException(PageContextImpl.java:758)

           org.apache.jasper.runtime.HttpJspBase.service(HttpJspBase.java:94)

           org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.service(JspServlet.java:236)
           javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:802)
    root cause
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.w3c.dom.Element.getTextContent()Ljava/lang/String;
           GSMPackage.GSMManager.getNodeList(GSMManager.java:184)
           GSMPackage.GSMManager.getExistingServices(GSMManager.java:283)
           org.apache.jsp.services_jsp._jspService(services_jsp.java:77)
           org.apache.jasper.runtime.HttpJspBase.service(HttpJspBase.java:94)
           javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:802)
           org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServletWrapper.service(JspServletWrapper.java:324)
           org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.serviceJspFile(JspServlet.java:292)
           org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.service(JspServlet.java:236)
           javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:802)I had him check his java version using java -version he has 1.5.
    This method that errors is a 1.5 source error from what I have read.
    Is there something else I can look at?
    Thanks.

    Thanks.
    I thought that the method in question was the getTextContext() method. ?
    org.w3c.dom.Element.getTextContent()Ljava/lang/String
    This is the method that contains the line in question(line 184 is last line):
        public ArrayList getNodeList()
           ArrayList arraylist = new ArrayList();
            try
                String serviceHostPort = null;
                Document document = this.getDocument();
                if(file.exists())
                    NodeList serviceName = document.getElementsByTagName("ServiceName");
                    NodeList serviceHost = document.getElementsByTagName("ServiceHost");
                    NodeList servicePort = document.getElementsByTagName("ServicePort");
                    if(serviceName.getLength() > 0)
                        for(int i=0;i<serviceName.getLength();i++)
                            Element serviceNameElement = (Element) serviceName.item(i); //CREATE THE SERVICE NAME ELEMENT
                            String serviceNameString = serviceNameElement.getTextContent(); //CREATE THE SERVICE NAME CONTENT THIS IS THE LINE IN QUESTION Thanks!

  • Org.w3c.dom.Element Serialization

    I see in the serialization list that org.w3c.dom.Document get's serialized to XML, but is there a reason why org.w3c.dom.Element only get's serialized to an object?  I would think that it should also be serialized to an XML Object, is there a way to do this without having to implement custom serialization for the type?

    I found another way to do this using the BlazeDS BeanProxy.  Essentially when marshalling the object to Blaze I convert the Element to a String (could be a Dom if I chose, but String was sufficient) and on the way back I build it back out.
    http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/BLZ-305 is the place I got the  details from.

  • Covert DOM element to String

    It sounds very simple, however could not find any solution using JAXP.
    What I need is that I have a DOM element, I want to convert the DOM element into String and store into the database. I used to do it using JDOM. It has a feature something like toString.
    I know that serialization is another option, however, want to know how to do this way.

    xmlString.getBytes()No, that causes your problem. Read the documentation to see what the getBytes() method does. Here's what you should do instead:Document document = documentBuilder.parse(new InputSource(new StringReader(xmlString)));This doesn't convert from String to bytes using a bad encoding. But you also say:
    xmlString contains Japanese characters and was originally from a xml file with UTF-8 encoing.In this case there's a good chance that in reading from the file to the String you have also failed to use UTF-8 to do the decoding. Why not just pass a File object to the parser and let it deal with the encoding issues? It knows what to do.

  • Dom element to string

    I have a method, the argument being passed in is a dom element.
    The method will convert the element(and child node) to string. The string is then passed into a buffer writer to write to a file.
    What is the easiest/fastest way to convert the dom element to string?
    Is there a better way to write the element to a file?
    Any sample code available?

    You could try something like this:
        String elementToString(Element element)
        throws Exception
            StringWriter sw = new StringWriter();
            TransformerFactory tFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
            Transformer transformer = tFactory.newTransformer();
            transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.INDENT, "yes");
            transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.METHOD, "xml");
            transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.OMIT_XML_DECLARATION, "yes");
            DOMSource source = new DOMSource(element);
            StreamResult result = new StreamResult(sw);
            transformer.transform(source, result);
            return sw.toString();
        }Regards

  • Wrapping XML into a org.w3c.dom.Element

    Many XML tools like JAXB or Axis are able to marshal objects representing XML via a java.io.Writer.
    We often use the StringWriter implementation that allows us to have the XML in a String format.
    Currently, I access a web service via Axis. I can successfully serialize my axis beans to XML Strings, but now I need to "wrap" my axis beans into a dom Elements.
    How can I do this ?
    Is there a kind of Writer that will allow me to create a dom Element instead of a String when marshalling?
    Thanks in advance.

    Yeah!
    I have resolved it .
    It take me one day time!
    my error is 1: Element which I used is no namespace.
    2: no import enough jar files
    just so so .
    sorry! I am poor in English

  • Org.w3c.dom.Element

    I want to use constructor of class : com.waveset.object.WSUser.Delegate
    WSUser.Delegate(org.w3c.dom.Element e)
    i have a user object and want to pass here as argument.
    So can anyone tell me how to convert it into Element class object?
    Thanks

    This example gives what I call the JDeveloper 9.0.2 way:
    http://otn.oracle.com/tech/webservices/htdocs/series/net/content.html
    as that Web service is now no longer available you have to read the tutorial, particularly step 12 to get an idea of what was done then ... I haven't had time to update it to a new Web service (my apologies).
    If you are using JDeveloper 9.0.3, the manual style of 9.0.2 goes away and it should be able to automatically consume the Web service as in this sample (this happens to also show UDDI which is not necessary):
    http://otn.oracle.com/tech/webservices/htdocs/series/javanet/content.html
    If you are using JDev 9.0.3 and still getting the stub you posted here, what that would appear to mean on the surface is that MS has generated a true doc/literal Web service interface and you have to manually construct the SOAP message as in the first example. Normally, MS gives you some help with their test page (just go to the .asmx page which has the test client for your Web service).
    Hope this gets you started.
    Mike.
