Please check the table DD07T  DD: Texts for Domain Fixed Values (Language-Dependent) or you can use
call function 'GET_DOMAIN_VALUES'
       exporting
            domname         = Domain Name

  • Domain Value Mapping in Oracle Service Bus

    Hi all,
I am looking for a similar functionality with Oracle Service Bus that exist in the Enterprise Service Bus.
The XPath function is lookup-dvm() that looks up the value based on a domain value mapping.
The case is to use this in a XQuery mapping.
Any input or experience on this?
    Thanks,
    Knut

Currently out-of-box implement of similar functionality in OSB is not possible. This DVM feature will supplied out of box in future releases of OSB. Talk to your sales representative to get exact date lines for this feature.

  • Domain Value Shot Description instead of Fixed Value

    Hi Everyone,
I am having a peculiar issue in Passing domain values from ABAP webdynpro to Interactive forms.
The scenario is as given below.
1> Interactive form is only for display purpose.
2> Passing fields from a Z structure in interactive forms interface.
3> Certain fields in the Z structure are having data elements which are linked to domains.
4> The domains mentioned in point number 3 are having fixed values as well as short descriptions.
5> Fixed values are stored in the tables in R/3 and not short descriptions.
6> I want to display the Short Description in Interactive forms as a text box and not a dropdown value. Since it is just for display purpose, i dont want to display a dropdown value. Currently The fixed values are getting displayed.
I wanted to know if there is some way to do this without using Code.
I have quite a lot of fields and for all of these fields if we select values from dd07t table, Performance would be severely affected.
Please let me know if someone has any suggestions. If you need any more clarifications don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks in advance and Warmest Regards
    Mz

    Hello Robert,
    Thanks for your prompt reply.
Let me try to clarify a bit more.
As mentioned by you, let us suppose that i have a field ZBUKRS with the domain ZZBUKRS having the same fixed values.
In case of Webdynpro ABAP, if i create a dropdown and bind this domain (ZZBUKRS) to the dropdown, when i run the report, i see the short descriptions in the dropdown. When selecting a value, the Fixed value is automatically selected for the selected short description. There is no need to go in for seperate coding to acheive this.
I was wondering, is there any way that a similar thing can be acheived in interactive forms without doing the coding. I know that we can use the FM 'STF4_GET_DOMAIN_VALUE_TEXT'. But since i have a large number of domains, i will have to use this repeatedly.
Hope i have not confused you
Please let me know if any further clarifications are required.
    Thanks & with warmest regards,
    Mz

    Hello friends,
When I query the EBS with following code to put the data in the configuration file

    Please help

I have the same problem. I currently have an open service request on this so will post any response I get from the oracle product manager. In the meantime here is a bit more detail on the issue...
    This is step
    Oracle® Business Intelligence Applications
Configuration Guide for Informatica PowerCenter Users
    Version 7.9.6.1 E14844-01
7 Configuring Oracle Human Resources Analytics
7.2.2 Configuration Steps for Oracle HR Analytics for Oracle EBS
7.2.2.3 How to Configure the domainValues_Employment_Cat_ora.csv
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14847_01/bia.796/e14844.pdf
The task is to map the 2 source dependent values (left hand side) to the 4 source independent domain (W_) values (right hand side). Unlike other similar steps in this case the set of possible domain values is ambiguous.
On my system the source dependent values - the left hand side of the csv spreasdsheet are
    Agency Contractor,EMP
    Employee,EMP
    Ltd Company Contractor,EMP
    PAYE Contractor,EMP
    Employee and Applicant,EMP_APL
    Ex-Agency Contractor,EX_EMP
    Ex-employee,EX_EMP
    Ex-Ltd Company Contractor,EX_EMP
    Ex-PAYE Contractor,EX_EMP
    Ex-employee and Applicant,EX_EMP_APL
    Contingent Worker,CWK
    External,OTHER
    Candidate,OTHER
    Contact,OTHER
    Participant,PRTN
    Retiree,RETIREE
    the configuration document says
"When editing CSV files, make sure that you: Do not add new values, other than the values present in the CSV file, to the columns with the name format W_ columns. In other words, if you add new rows to the spreadsheet, then the columns with the name format W_ values must map to those in the default spreadsheet. If you add new columns with the name format W_ values, then you must customize the affected mappings."
The reason you should not change the domain values is because these values tend to be "hard coded" in the ETL/RRD/requests to provide the various metrics. "Incorrect mappings may result in inaccurate calculations of Oracle Business Intelligence metrics. Some sessions may fail if these procedures are not compiled in the database before running the workflows."
the default out of the box lookup file
    domainValues_Employment_Cat_ora11i.csv
    has 7 mappings
    USER_PERSON_TYPE,SYS_PERSON_TYPE,W_EMPLOYEE_CATEGORY_CODE,W_EMPLOYEE_CATEGORY_DESC,W_EMPLOYEE_SUB_CAT_CODE,W_EMPLOYEE_SUB_CAT_DESC
    Employee,EMP,EMPLOYEE,Employee,EMP_REGULAR,Regular Employee

    Student,CWK,CONTINGENT,Contingent Worker,CONTINGENT_INTERN,Intern
    Trainee,CWK,CONTINGENT,Contingent Worker,CONTINGENT_TRAINEE,Trainee
    that gives 2 employment categories
    EMPLOYEE or CONTINGENT
with 6 possible combinations with sub category
    EMPLOYEE,Employee,EMP_REGULAR,Regular Employee
    EMPLOYEE,Employee,EMP_EXPATRIATE,Expatriate
    CONTINGENT,Contingent Worker,CONTINGENT_TEMP,Agency/Temp
    CONTINGENT,Contingent Worker,CONTINGENT_CONTINGENT,Contractor
    CONTINGENT,Contingent Worker,CONTINGENT_INTERN,Intern
    CONTINGENT.Contingent Worker,CONTINGENT_TRAINEE,Trainee
Normally the source independent W_* domain values, that is, the right hand side of the csv spreadsheet that you map your source values to, are listed in the Data Model Reference.
My Oracle Support Document ID 819373.1 BIAPPSDMR796_RevA.pdf
Oracle Business Analytics Warehouse Data Model Reference Version 7.9.6
In this case - the domain values listed in the data model reference are ...
Table 3–6 lists the values for the Employee Category domain value for W_EMPLOYMENT_D.
    //"W_EMPLOYEE_CAT_CODE","W_EMPLOYEE_CAT_DESC", "Source"
    "CONTRACTOR", "CONTRACTOR", "Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft"
    "DIRECT", "DIRECT", "Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft"
    "INDIRECT", "INDIRECT", "Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft"
    "OTHER", "OTHER", "Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft"
    "REGULAR", "REGULAR", "Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft"
    "TEMPORARY", "TEMPORARY", "Oracle EBS, PeopleSoft"
    This is confusing because
    i) the category values are differnet to those in default file (EMPLOYEE or CONTINGENT)
ii) the DMR document has no listing of the possible sub categories
So the question is - what do you map your source values to? The instructions are not clear! The only way I can think to find out for sure is to do an impact analysis of the ETL's / RPD / requests to find instances of hard coded values for the domain values.

  • Dynamci Query Result View - New Field with domain values

    Hi,
I added to the result list a new field (using an append structure). Than I added it to the layout. This field contains a number, which will be translated into text by domain values. But in my result view only the number will be displayed. Any idea how I can display the text instead of the ID?
    Thanks in advance Paul.

    Hi Paul,
You can display the domain text by fetching it in the corresponding GETTER method. The GETTER will be sending the ID; you can add extra code to fetch the corresponding text ID in the getter and return this in rv_value.

  • Domain Value Mapping (DVM)..

    Hi,
We are using Domain Value Mapping (DVM) for quick retrieval of required data value for a field at run-time.
I have found one solution at : http://guidoschmutz.wordpress.com/2009/12/25/implement-domain-value-maps-dvm-with-oracle-service-bus-osb-10r3/
    Scenario:
From legacy service I get value of field - CountryName as complete name of country. (e.g.India)
I want to convert the value to "IN" before passing back to proxy service.
While using above link solution i get following errors:
    1. Runtime mismatch
    2. Expected exactly 1 item, got 0 items (The legacy service has compulsory value for CountryName, legacy is not passing null back)
The platform we use is, OSB 10gR3, does it support DVM?
Any ideas how to use DVM? How to use binding variables in DVM?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Domain Value Mapping with Text file

    Hai,
I have done the Domain value mapping with the xml file to xml file and it is working fine.
But in the case of Text file to Text file it is not working i.e. If the citiname is the
first field it is domain value mapping and working fine.
    INPUT:
    Erode, Mahes, 22
    Coimbatore, Veera, 22
    OUTPUT:
    ED, Mahes, 22
    CBE, Veera, 22
But if I change the Citiname to the second column it is not working the problem is
it is not working for subsequent columns.
    INPUT:
    Mahes, Erode, 22
    Veera, Coimbatore, 22
    OUTPUT:
    Mahes,, 22
    Veera,, 22
The input Text files are delimited by "comma" and optionally enclosed by "space".
Does anyone have attained the DVM in the Text file successfully.
    Please help me.

Thank you for the reply Abhi
Text to Text means instead of giving the input file as XML file i am giving the input as a simple .txt file and I also want the output in the .txt format.
For the text file only it is not working fine in the xml file to xml file it is working fine.
For your another query I am not providing the correct parameters for "lookup-dvm"

  • Domain value range

    hi
i am changing the table field domain value range. after changing i am getting the warning msg like below. if i ignore it and transport odes it affect anyways.
and also does anyone tell me when we transport only the structure get transported or even the values get transported?
<b>The key length, i.e. the sum of the field lengths of all the key fields of the table,
    is more than 120 bytes.
Note the following restricted fuctionality for this table:
    - Table contents cannot be transported by specifying key values, at
best by specifying generic key values with a maximum length of 120
      bytes.
    - The table may not be used as the base table of a lock object.</b>

    Hi ,
Instead of changing the domain value range ,
create a Z Domain group say copy it from the existing one and increase the range .
This will reflect on the field name in the Ztable . Do activate and adjust database from SE14 on the table .
Remember that the new range of values will be overlapped to the existing version in the target system .
for this what u have to do is for the existing domain field where used list see the tables in which it is to be used .
and then if its not causing any inconsistencies u can transport or else the dependent tables which are referring to the domain group have to be modified .
    regards,
    Vijay

  • Extract data from domain-value range

    Hi,
I have a requirement to extract data from Domain-Value range.
I am using MDM generic extractor(mdmgx)
in 'Maintain ports and check tables' i can create a port but i should mention a table name.
    I have a 'DOMAIN'
    with a specific value range:
    01    text1
    02   text2
    03   text3
    so on...
i need to get these entries as a part of extracted data.
Could you please tell me how to do this?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Regards,
    Rashmi

    Hey guys,
you're making things much to complicated. For extracting Domains with MDMGX, the TABLE NAME equals the DOMAIN NAME. Example for domain XFELD that is a common Yes/No Flag:
    CLIENT            000
    SYSTEM TYPE       R3
    OBJECT TYPE       Vendor
    MDM PORTCODE      LT_YesNoIndicator
    TABLE NAME        XFELD
    NONLANG FIELDS    KEY=Key
    LANG FIELDS       LANGKEY=LANGKEY,VALUE=Name
    WHERE CLAUSE
    LINK INFO
    FUNC XML
    FUNC XSD
    PROCESS LEVEL     0
TABLE NAME equals the domain name.
NONLANG FIELDS and LANG FIELDS use default entries as defined above.
If you check your system for "table" XFELD, you'll clearly see that it's a domain.
    Cheers
    Michael

  • Overwrite existing Domain values with new one

    Hi All,
I have an existing database (It is not an SAP table, it was made for client, but I am not supposed to modify it). But, my issue is that, I have to change the values of domain used in it to new values.
    For e.g.
Current Values are 1 - ADD, 2 - NOT POSSIBLE and  so on
New values to be added: 1 - ADDITION 2- ADDITION NOT POSSIBLE.
I tried using 'Fixed Value Append', but I want to overwrite the values with new ones.
Please suggest me if there is any method to do it.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I don't understand if it a Z-table what is the problem in changing domain and why you are not supposed to change it since the task is assigned to you.
Anyways, even if you write a code to change domain values, you would have to then get it moved to production for changes to reflect. Also, I don't think you would have the authorization to change table entries directly. Also this will result in inconsistency in various clients for domain values..
The better solution would be, get authorization to change domain values, create transport request for this and get it moved to subsequent systems.
    Thanks.

  • Values not getting refreshed in web report.

    Hello Friends,
Currently i am running an web report. The scenerio is i have check box with 5 options For Ex: IMS , IMR, IMN,IMM,IMP.
IMS is the combination of all divisions and IMR is the combination of only three divisions.
In BEx we runthe report with divisions . For ex : divisions are Ind1, ind2,ind3,ind4,ind 5.
Instead of displaying divisions in the select options like Ind1,ind2....etc., we have created a structure in the report
and using new selection we have restricted the divisions with IMS,IMN,etc.,
IMS->combination of all divisions. IMR is combination of ind1,ind2,ind3.
IMN... all are with single divisions
Now we have assigned the query in the data provider for select options in hte web report,
But when we select any options the values of the remaining queries are not getting refreshed.
If we use the divisons directly with out using the structures the values are getting refreshed.
Can any one give me the solutions for this?
    Regards
    Srinivas

    Hi Mansi,
Check the Prompt properties in the Edit Query window of the webI. In the query filters section of window, click on the blue icon which says Prompt Properties. Deselect Keep Last values select and run the webI again.
If the solution is not related to your question, please provide more details.

The message in simple English just means that "You are doing something really bad" !!! It is absolutely not the communication problem, but understanding problem.
Though you may be executing the same function using SE37 or in the webshop application through JCo, the runtime context is different and without knowing what exactly your Z rfc is doing, it is very difficult to help. To start with, the userid - that is who is running the RFC is different in both situations. In SE37, it is the logon user and in the web, depending upon whether the connection is stateless or stateful, it could be the anonymous ICSS user or the logged in user. Here again, if you have used UME, it is the user id and if you have used ALIAS user, then it is the alias user id. This is just an example. Your runtime context can be different due to many other reasons too.
So, to make this simpler - what is that you are trying to do?
BTW, try not to create multiple threads for the same issue..

  • Values not getting displayed for members which doesnt have parents

    Hi
I created a product dimension with 4 levels .For members which doesnt have parents, data is not getting displayed in JavaClient.
The values for members which doesnt have parents are getting displayed in the view created for the measures which are dimensioned by Product .I mapped the same view in the CWM2 work space ,but value is not getting displayed for members which doesnt have parents ,but values are getting displayed for members which have parents for measures.
Is it a bug , we were able to do it in Express ..
Can anybody help us in doing this.??
    Thnx in Advance......

    Hi,
This assumes that the members which do not have parents are mapped to the top level in the hierarchy. If they are at a level below the top level then they are not part of the hierarchy and therefore would not be displayed. So this sounds like expected behaviour.
    Hope this helps
