Done Something Dumb, Please Help With Terminal Command
OK, So I couldn't figure out why I was no longer getting Growl notifications with mail.app and GrowlMail after I upgraded to 10.5. Turns out it has something to do with the bundle version it is running. I ran the following 2 terminal commands found here : http://www.davidroessli.com/logs/2007/01/gettinggrowlmail_towork/
they were:
defaults write com.apple.mail EnableBundles 1
defaults write com.apple.mail BundleCompatibilityVersion 2
Once I launched mail.app again the application told me that it had shut off support for the Plaxo plugin that I use. Now neither Growl nor the Plaxo plugin work. Long story short, can someone explain to me how to put mail.app back the way it was before I foolishly ran terminal commands? Thanks in advance
Email the author. Growl isn't supported by Apple.
You are aware that the article was written quite a while before 10.5.2 was released? It's not a good idea to implement modifications that are not tested on the current version of OS X without checking first with the author of such modifications. It's especially not a good idea to use the "defaults write" command without knowing how to undo the change.
The first command is undone by substituting 0 for 1. Change the second one from 2 to 3.

Also, you should be using PreparedStatement rather than Statement. Then you won't have to worry about weird characters in strings or formatting dates (you can just give it a java.sql.Date object). -

Here's the deal. My cousin was playing on my computer when I was at a friends and decided to mess with terminal. Now it won't work. SarahThe simplest recover is to use TimeMachine to restore the system to just prior to the hacking.
Also Apple recommends NEVER using your computer casually as an administrator.
Letting other people play with your computer as a toy, when you are running an administrator account is begging for problems.
If you don't have a backup, ask your cousin exactly what he did, and reverse it. -
How can I sync my iPhone on a different computer without erasing my applications? My iPhone was earlier synced with a PC which I don't use anymore.
On the new computer, I am getting a message that my all purchases would be deleted if I sync it with new iTunes library.

Please help with slideshow problems!
Am using Photoshop Elements 8 and trying to make a slideshow. Have tried 4 times now and keep ending up with same problem, cannot reopen project to continue edititing. Won't show up in orginizer and when I find on harddrive and try to open get message " wmv file cannot be opened". How can I save a
slideshow inprogress and be able to reopen and continue to edit and make slideshow? I want to thank anyone who can help me with this in advance as I

You need to save the slideshow project in order to be able to go back later and make changes or additions to an existing slideshow . The wmv file is a final output format.
Now you are most probably using only the Output command: that is what makes the wmv file.
You should also do the Save Project command. (and I make it a practice to do the Save Project command before I do the Output command).
If you look at the Elements Organizer 8 Help, there is a topic on "Create a slide show".
-- Very close to the beginning of that topic is a screen shot of the Sldie Show Editor screen,
-- The bar below the usual menu bar is labeled with a "B" and called the Shortcuts bar.
-- The 1st entry on that Shortcuts bar is "Save Project"
It is the Save Project command that saves the information about which photos, audio, etc you placed in that specific slide show so that you can come back again to do subsequent editing. Save each Project with a unique name.
After completing the Save Project command, you shoud see an "icon" in the Organizer for that slide show.
Note: you must also keep the photo files and audio files which you have used in this slide show: you can't delete them because the project file does NOT contain a copy of the photos, it only has the identification and folder location of the photo and audio files.

There can be some of that. Unfortunately, it's up to the app developers to make their app work with the iOS.
So checking for updates can help. You can also look at the reviews for the app, see if others have the same issue. If 8 has broken the app, all you can do is wait.
In some cases, a reset can help. Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot and try again. (this can work if the app is fine with iOS8 but is just glitching...it's a harmless reboot of the system)
Another thing to try is to force quit the app(s) and force them to reboot. Double tap the home button. Flick the preview for the app up and off the screen to close it. Then single tap the home button to exit the mode. Try your app again. If it's just a glitch then this sometimes clears it up.
I know once I updated my devices I then had several updates pushed out - updates that required iOS8 so weren't available before the update. -
I Have followed all the steps and still cant remove iCloud to my existing account and add to the new one, the old email account was changed a year ago and cant get that email plus the password don't work please HELP!
Welcome to the Apple community.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone".
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, verify it once again, delete the iCloud account from your device and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

I have to make a report to come out like this from existing tables. I used the following sum and compute commands:

How can i remove the duplicate values from the column total?
THe tables i am using here are ITEM (which has item_no, description, charge), HISTORY(location, financial_source), COST_CENTER(cost_center) and REPORT(date_charged).
ALl these tables have been used as can be seen in the code.

I switched over from an iPhone to a Samsung Galaxy S3 & I haven't been able to receive any text messages from iPhones. I have no problem sending the text messages but I'm not receivng any from iPhones at all. It has been about a week now that I'm having this problem. I've already tried fixing it myself and I also went into the sprint store, they tried everything as well. My last option was to contact Apple directly. Please help with turning my iMessage completely off so that I can receive my texts.
If you registered your iPhone with Apple using a support profile, try going to https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do and unregistering it. Also, try changing the password associated with the Apple ID that you were using for iMessage.

You buy one download and one download only, it is your responsibility to backup your music.
it has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases -

PowerPC refers to the processing chip used by Apple before they transferred to Intel chips. They are very different, and applications written only for PPC Macs cannot work on a Mac running Lion.
You could contact the developers to see if they have an updated version in the pipeline. -
