Dotnet iviews

Hi all,
While running dotnet iviews on the ep ,I m getting an error saying 'could not find file com.sap.portal.common.commonservices'.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem or where to find this file.

Hi,
Yes, the "external facing portal" logistics should work.
First make sure your portal supports this feature (this should be SP14 and up). And also make sure you page uses the "light" layouts, and that no tray is shown. Last, make sure your user logged in into the "light-mode". So far, these are all the normal requirements of 'light' portal.
Now, in order to make sure that your PDK iViews don't bring all those scripts you just need to add a property to your code file (above the class is one option) -
[PortalComponentClassProperty("EPCFLevel",0, PlainDescription="EPCF Level")]
public class .... : SAP.Portal.Web.UI.PortalComponent
This should prevent those "heavy" scripts from loading. (note that it wouldn't prevent ALL the scripts).

Error while requestin for Service Request iview in ERP Common Role.

 I had assigned ERP Common role to a HR user and am trying to access pdf form from Service Request iview( I had done the configuration of Adobe in my portal).But i'am getting this error

Run Time Error of PDK dotnet service after upgrading to SP17

Hi All,
I upgraded the portal from SP15 to SP17.
Now, all my PDK.NET applications don't run.
I get the following error:

iView cannot display.
Could not connect to the .NET runtime server.
Contact your administrator if the problem persists.
Possible reasons:
1. The Portal Runtime for .NET service is not running or installed.
2. The .NET Runtime Servers Configuration property of 'iViewProcessorService' service is not correct. Check the syntax of server nodes, hosts and ports settings.

The service (ver. 2) is running in the server.
The configuration hasn't been changed.
The 2 sda (services):
com.sap.portal.dotnet.framework.sda & com.sap.portal.dotnet.services.systems.sda were upgraded to SP17.
The .NET runtime service's version is 2.0.
Do I need to upgrade it to 2.5?
how do I check that the Portal Runtime for .NET component and the two portal services version are the same?

Using LinktoURL to communicate between 2 iViews.

i have a url in one iview.
when i click on it i want the site to open in another iview.
Now in my LinktoURL object property of Target ,wht shall i give.eg the id of the window in which the site will open.
From where shall i get this value becuse i want the site to open in a seperate iview with in that page.
is there any other way i can do it like using EPCF.
In case of EPCF how shall i assign the value of the url which i my transfer from the first iView.

Can not view ABC iView on tablet

I am unable to get ABC iView to work on a 10 inch tablet with Android 4. iView works perfectly with the 'Dolphin' browser but I only get a blank screen after iView says to "Tap here to activate plugin".

I have tried that and now I just get a blank screen instead of the "Tap here to activate plugin" message. I have also tried disabling plugins and then get ABC's opening screen with the warning "Your browser does not seem to be supported. iView requires Adobe Flash Player 10 and Javascript to be enabled". There are no such add-ons for android in the Mobile Add-ons page.
I was assuming they are built in to the Android version of FireFox because many web sites require them.

Open iView in new WINDOW for CATW

HI All,
We are on Netweaver2004s and the browser used is either Internet Explorer 7 (Microsoft Vista) or Mozilla Firefox.
Now what I need help on is that I have a link on my page that says "Report Your Time", this link calls the Internet Service CATW via the ITS from my R/3 and opens the TIMESHEET (which is an iView) to be filled in by the user in a new window.
On this TIMESHEET I have a link called as "EXIT" , now after the timesheet is filled and saved, the user should use this "EXIT" link to leave the window. The code behind "EXIT" is so written by SAP that it kills the user's session. But not always and all user's use this "EXIT" link, they generally close the window by browser's (X) close button. This causes the user to get locked in the backend.
So far I have been able to trap the browser's (X) close button and kill the session by using "setOKCode('/nex')". This works fine in I.E 6 (which has no tabs) and if the user closes Mozilla Firefox from the top (X) close button of the browser.
BUT, in I.E 7 and mozilla firefox, when the user clicks on "Report Your Time" link on my page, a new tab opens and the TIMESHEET is displayed on this tab within the same browser window, so after filling and saving the timesheet when the user closes the (TIMESHEET) tab, the session does not get killed and the user gets locked in the backend. Here, if the user had closed the entire browser window by using the the top (X) close button of the browser, instead of just closing the tab containing the TIMESHEET, then his session would have been killed by my code.
This is the code that identifies if the user has clicked on top (X) close button of the browser. But this code does not identify if a browser's tab is closed.

In the above I check clientY property of the event object, which is used to set or retrieve the y-coordinate of the mouse pointer's position relative to the client area of the window, excluding window decorations and scroll bars.
Is there a way to capture the closing of a browser's tab. A way by which I can trap the event raised when the browser window's tab is closed.
This has to be done via "Java Script" since the code will be placed in the HTML template in SE80.

Hi Aviad,
You could set "fullscreen=yes" (without quotes) for the property called "Window Features" (technical name: "com.sapportals.portal.navigation.WinFeatures") on the navigation element in question (iView or, if existent, surrounding page). Take care, this opens the window without frame and toolbar (closable by ALT-F4).
To get a 100% screen (with toolbar, frame etc), you have to calculate the clients resolution before, using JS for example. So you would need to build a workaround, for example an iView with no output but opening a new window with a certain NavURL as target.

How can I use ONE Text search iView to event/affect mutliple Result Sets?

hello everyone,
i have a special situation in which i have 6 flat tables in my repository which all have a common field called Location ID (which is a lookup flat to the Locations table).
i am trying to build a page with a free-form text search iView on Table #1 (search field = Location ID). when I execute the search, the result set for Table #1 is properly updated, but how do I also get Result Set iViews for Tables #2-6 to also react to the event from Text Search for Table #1 so that they are updated?
i don't want to have to build 6 different text search iViews (one for each table). i just want to use ONE text search iView for all the different result set tables. but, in the documentation and iView properties, the text search iView doesn't have any eventing.

that should not be a problem, since you are detailw with result sets and detail iviews because custom eventing can be defined for those iviews.
Yes, it says "no records" found because an active search and record selection havent' been performed for it (only your main table does).
So, yes, define a custom event, and pass the appropriate parameters and you should be fine.
Creating a custom event between a Result Set iView and an Item Details iView is easy and works. I have done it.
See page 35 of the Portal Content Development Guide for a step-by-step example, which is what I used.
For my particular situation, the problem I'm having is that I want the Search Text iView's event (i.e., when the Submit button is pressed) to be published to multiple iViews, all with different tables. Those tables all share some common fields, which is what the Search iView has, so I'd like to pass the search critera to all of the iViews.

Error while accessing a BI iView from the federated portal to the BI portal

Hi,
We got an issue when we execute BI report from our federated SAP Portal.
The user can navigate into the portal, but when he executes an BI iView, sometime he gets the following error message:
"500 Internal Server Error
blabla...
Root Cause
The initial exception that caused the request to fail was:
BEx Web application "xxxxx" does not exist. The application was either ended by a timeout or an error occurred, which was entered into the trace log. See SAP Notes 937697 and 948490"
He can then refresh the page and execute the report again, and it will works.

BI Portal SP20
Iview are created on the Federated Portal and consume BI web template.
I don't think about a timeout issue, since sometime we got the selection screen and once we click on a button (after some seconds) we got the error.
Any ideas ?

Please could you remove the proxy setting and check whether it will give you same error or not.
Even we have faced the similar similar issue and once we have removed the proxy setting and cross checked it , it worked fine and later we came to know that the problem is in network proxy setting application.Check with the net working team for the same.

BW Workbook as an iView in the Enterprise Portal

I keeping getting a dialog box asking to select the appropriate program to open the workbook. When I select .xls it opens, and it shows the parameters I entered and not the workbook. The customer is on NW04 Stack 11.
I followed ever step on help.sap.com site as listed below.
BW workbooks are MS Excel workbooks with one or more embedded BW queries. You are able to display these workbooks in the Enterprise Portal as iViews.
Features
Workbooks are displayed in a separate MS Excel window. Opening workbooks within the Web browser window is not possible for technical reasons.
BW workbooks require the BEx Analyzer, which requires a local installation of the SAP GUI for Windows with the BW front end.
SAP recommends that you use BEx Web applications in the Enterprise Portal that run completely in the Web browser.
You can use the function Export as Excel 2000 File from the BW Web application context menu as an alternative to using a local installation of the BW front end if you require Excel functions. See Context Menu Functions and Exporting as a CSV File/Excel 2000 File.
An iView with a workbook can be generated using the Portal Content Studio or Role Upload. For more information, see Generating Content from SAP BW for the Enterprise Portal.
The iViews are of type SAP Transaction iView and have the code link com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.Transaction.
The most important properties are System, Transaction (TCODE) and ApplicationParameter.
·The System property contains the alias on the BW system (see Creating BW Systems in the Portal).
·The transaction code for every workbook is RRMXP.
·The value WBID= is in the ApplicationParameter property.
You can determine the workbook ID with the BEx Analyzer:
a. Open the desired workbook.
b. In the BEx toolbar, choose ® OLAP Functions for Active Cells ® Properties. The Information tab page contains the Workbook ID (Server).
Note that with BW workbooks as an iView, the AutoStart property contains the value True (process first screen) and the GuiType property contains the value WinGui.

How to populate columns in IVIEW using ABAP FM ?

Hi All,
I need to populate columns in IVIEW using ABAP FM. I had developed a FM which is working fine in SAP ABAP. Now Functional people has done the configuration for this FM to MSS.
When we go to the IVIEW in MSS, My FM is not getting triggered in the MSS portal, it is not displaying any values in that particular column of IVIEW. I dont know why.
Can anybody help me out? If u need any more details i'll provide that..

Does each SAP transaction iview create a log on to the backend ECC?

Hi,
If I put multiple SAP transaction iviews in a role, each pointing to a different SAP transaction in the same backend system, does the launch of each iview create a new logon in the backend system when using SAP logon tickets? If so, is it possible to make it only launch a new session if one logon has already been created?

/oxx(Transaction Name)

Cannot create iView from PAR file

I am trying to create an iView from PAR file. But when I select the option,
"Portal component - create an iView from a portal component contained in a deployed portal archive (PAR) file"
and click next, I get the following error.

Step 1: Portal Archive Selection
No templates to display. You are not assigned to any existing templates.
I have portal_configurator and developer roles assignmed to myself. Which other role do I need? I cannot get admin role.
Note: Other users with admin roles can create iViews.

What is your portal version details ?
In EP 7.0 you do not have the option -- New From PAR.
So to create IView from Par, you should select the option New --> IView and then there will be an option to select par file.
Otherwise
1.Check if your par file is deployed on server.
2. Check the portalapp.xml, if you have configured your components properly.
