I have small doubt in Message Mapping.
My doubt is in my Scenario if X=1 i want to go for message mapping1,if X=2 want to go for message mapping2,if X=3 i want to go for mapping3.
How it possible

Doubt in fields - message mapping (file 2 idoc scenario)

while doing message mapping in file 2 idoc scenario, i could not able find the values for some field names

Im stuck up with a message mapping issue. Need your advice if I can handle this in message mapping or should I changed the FCC.

The problem is on the target side when I try to map the Code111 (line item) to the targert RFC it comes only once or all the Code111 nodes comes under the same "ITEM_LI" The target RFC structure is like.

here is the problem I expect 3 ITEM_LI nodes for each CODE111
1) Ensure that you have raised the Context of the source node (CODE111) to a higher node.
2) Is your mapping logic proper..... is the ITEM_LI node or its parent node mapped properly so that when the CODE111 repeats, the target is also able to repeat?
3) did you check the max occurence of ITEM_LI node.....it should be more than 1

thought i will start of from scratch.Mapping is basically done to convert one form of xml into another form. This can be done using either of them mentioned below.

- JAVA mapping

Different options for message mapping in BPM

Hey guys
i m in the learning phase of BPM and am kinda confused with the different ways we can do message mapping in a BPM scenario.
first of all we can do message mapping before BPM,we can also do after BPM and lastly we can do inside BPM(ofcurse this is not recommended as its too resource consuming)
i have bene through starters blog on BPM by Krishna moorthy and Arpit seth,and now am wondering how to use the mapping in diff. ways
suppose i m doing a simple File to File with BPM(just for practise purpose)
now here is what i have designed in IR
DT_sender_File                                       DT_receiver_File
MT_sender_File                                       MT_receiver_File
MI_Outbound_sender(async,outbound),     MI_Inbound_receiver(async,inbound)
AI_sender(abstract,async)                        AI_receiver(abstract,async)

now i want to clear some doubts about interface mapping.my understanding is
if i do interface mapping between MI_Outbound_sender and AI_receiver,this will be interface mapping before BPM.
if i do interface mapping between AI_sender and MI_Inbound_receiver,this will be interafce mapping after BPM
and if i do interface mapping between AI_sender and AI_receiver then it will be mapping inside BPM.
is my understanding correct?if yes,then does that means we can we any of the above mapping in our scenario.(if we dont consider the performance issue as of now)

Doubt in Multi mapping

Hi
Suppose i want 1:2 transformation. Both the destinations are of the same type. (say two database tables have to be updated int he receiver end, )
1. I can create one business service with two receiver interfaces. And go for multimapping.
or
2. I can create 2 separate business services for the two target interfaces and proceed in the usual way.
I would like to know when to go for multi mapping in terms of configuration.

BPM flow instance identifier in message mapping

Question: Is the unique instance identifier (number) of an executing BPM flow available to a message map being executed in a transformation step in the flow? I'm thinking that it would be a parameter available in the container object, or something like that. I would expect to need a user defined function to access it.

I doubt that you can do that.
All the StreamTransformationConstants that you can access can be found if you write
StreamTransformationConstants.
and press ctrl+space, in eclipse (or NWDS).
Make sure you have
import com.sap.aii.mapping.api.StreamTransformationConstants;
and that you have added aii_map_api.jar to your project.

Testing message mapping

i just got one doubt like
in my scenario i have created one message mapping program.
in this mapping program i want to test for multiple records in body.
i found a technique of duplicate subtree for creating dummy multiple records in body.
but while testing the result is not matching when compered to my last mapping test with only single record in body.

Hi Ram,
just see the maximum occurace of topmost target node - it should be 0..unbounded and then you will get multiple target nodes for multiple source nodes..........also just assign the topmost target node to a constant field if you dont have any condition for creation of topmost target node........

Hi,
You can do this in one scenario.
Lets say you have MT_Source and MT_Target as two message types.
Now your MM1 will be between MT_Source & MT_Source, that is same message type. Here you built your sorting logic.
Now create MM2, between MT_Source & MT_Target. Here your actual mapping logic will be implemented. The input payload for MM2 will be sorted data.
Now in operation mapping, first call MM1 and then call MM2 (You have a plus + sign to add multiple mapping programs). Due to this sequence, at run time first MM1 will be executed and after that its oupt will be given to MM2 as source payload.
Hope its clear. Plz let me know if you have any doubts.

Let we try this way. I'm sure you might have some existing mapping objects in IR.
Try to change that object(Description give some name) and activate again the object.
Reply your results whether you are getting the same error.
One sec before changing the object just test the mapping and change the object.

We are trying to activate message mappings and getting error as CHECK_EXCEPTION and in error details its showing that usr/sap/server.........................../classpath_resolver/Map.......................no such file or directory.........
What can be the issue?We can activate all other objects(DT,MT,IM,etc)

Error while opening Message Mapping

Hi All,
I have one MM in ESR, IDoc to EDI, it has been developed before, and the interface is working successfully.But when I open this MM in ESR, it given a STOP error with desc as 'For input string: ""'.
and then there is nothing displayed on Screen under Definition,Test and Functions tab of MM.The Signature tab content is visible properly.
I am working on PI 7.1.
Is this issue is because of version comapatibilty or missing object. Please provide your inputs to resolve this issue,

Hi All,
I have checked with my basis team, but they suggested that the patches can not be installed as this problem is happening with single message mapping.
When I open this MM, it gives the same STOP error :For input string: "". and when I click on Message Mapping -> Check button, it prompts a message 'Parameter #ParamName# has the invalid value null'.
Please help me to resolve this.As the mapping itself is not getting loaded, so not getting how to set this parameter value(if it is used in MM).

I'm currently working on a graphical message mapping using IDoc HRMD_A06 as source structure (HR master data transferred via PFAL).
In my result structure I have to fill a field CostCenter with the following logic:
If field KOSTL (cost center) is filled in node E1P0315, map this field to CostCenter in result structure, otherwise take KOSTL of node E1P0001.
The end date (ENDDA) has to be '99991231' in each case.
This is how the result structure looks like:

I've tried an existence check for the whole node (E1P0315->exists), but then it fails, because all E1PITYP nodes are processed.
I hope my problem is clear to you.
Would it be better to use another mapping type?
As I'm an ABAP developer, I would of course prefer some lines of code to this graphical drag&drop thing.
