Doubts on JDBC & FIle

1.  IN A DATABASE -> IDOC scenario,
if a reverse scenario, when ever an idoc is triggered it gets updated automatically into DB because of the ALE settings we do. But when DB-> r/3, how does this automation takes place. i mean.. when ever a new records come into DB, does idocs get created automatically?
2. in a file -> idoc or DB scenario,
my file data is holding both header data and item data. how can we identify which row is header data and which is item data?
3. i am doing and idoc to DB scenario.
in sxmb_moni, i am getting strange message from trace of XML message "Async barrier reached. Bye-bye !".
i have checkd my complete config and its right.
i also tested my mapping with the payload and its working fine.
Thanks
Kiran

hi kiran!!
1. If you want to update R/3 upon Manual Database record change, you have to configure it in the Database side itself. You can engage a trigger for the particular event(INSERT/UPDATE) to reflect the change in the R/3.
2. Specify key filed values  for header, item and for footer
   i.e. in the recordset structure: header,<occ>, item,<occ>,footer,<occ> //occurrence.
in the CC Table:
header.keyFieldValue 'H'
and put values for item and footer accordingly.
3. check in the adapter monitoring (RWB) if there is any violation in database

  • Doubt in TEXT  file(.ASCII)

    Hi Xpertz
I have a little doubt on text file .Normally in .CSV we r separting the particulat field with boxes .wher is ascii how can we seperate values .i mean with commas or spaces or any other option.
say suppose i have 4 value each value is having lenagt up to 10 chars
        a                b              c
    reddXXXXXX   ssffsfsfsf     jskjksjsksjk
how ca we separete the above values if say suppose under a we r having only 8 but its lenth is 10 ....??
    Thanx in advance

    Hi,
ASCII is normal tab separator, every field is like in separate columns, and for this you have to specify in datasource tab of transfer roules the exaxt number of digit ov every field, and is generally in .txt format.
You obtain this format when you save an MS-Excel file in .prn format (one of the last possibilities).
About Separator for thousand and Decimal Points you have to define it due to the values that you use in your file, for example you can use ',' fordecimal place, so you have to define this character for decimal place.
About conversion routine you have to keep-off this flag if you not have particular conversion routine.

Between RMI and sockets a think that sockets more complicated, and the problem is RMI is not simple, somebody could help me?Please avoid using the highly irritating word "URGENT!!" in your subject line in future.
The first question I would ask is where are these files now? Are they in a database? Or are you trying to put them into a database.
The second question is what is the client? Remote? Web? Internet?
If the files are going in/out of the database directly then the simplest solution is just straight JDBC. If there is some complication (like the client is web-based) then maybe something else is required.
I don't see RMI being a solution here. Possibly but I doubt it (on the basis that if the scenario means that the RMI solution was feasible then I would think the direct JDBC solution would also be feasible) . Maybe FTP.
I think you may need to get some English help or try on a Spanish language forum though. We'll see how it goes but I do find your question difficult to understand, I only get a general drift of what you are saying but as demonstrated by my questions above I don't really get the specifics.

  • Doubt in JDBC Scenario.

    Dear All,
At present i am doing File to JDBC Scenario using SQL Server database.I am having some doubts in doing this Scenario, please give me some clarification on those.I already completed this scenario using MS Access database.
SQL Server installed on my local machine.
1.For MS Access I used Business Service for both Sender and Receiver. Can I use Business Service for Sender and Receiver in this case also? Do I need to compulsory use Business System for the Receiver?  Do I need to give information regarding my local machine in that Business System in SLD?
2.After going through some documents on JDBC Scenarios,i came to know that, the only difference between using MS Access and SQL Server is ,configuring Receiver Communication Channel parameters and Deploying the corresponding Driver on XI Server though SDM.Is this the only change?or Is there any other change need to do?Please suggest me.....
3.In Receiver Communication channel configuration at Connection parameter we are giving -
    jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://172.16.202.57:1433;databaseName=xxxx.
My system IP Address is  172.16.202.57
Will the Port Number always 1433 for local machine?
4.Throught out the whole scenario we were giving the Database Name in Receiver Communication channel and Table Name in Data structure of Receiver. Is this sufficient to determine the Correct Data base and Correct Table name?Or Anywhere else do we need to give the Table name or Database name?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ramana.
*POINTS WILL BE REWARDED TO THE ANSWERS.*

    Hi
1.You can Business Service for Sender and Receiver in this case also. No need to go for Systems. The scenario is going to be the same.
2.The only difference is in the configuration of Receiver Communication Channel and the parameters are URL Connection String and name of the driver.
Also the corresponding Driver for SQL server needs to be deployed on XI Server using SDM.
3.Not in all the cases you specify a port number.I had connected to Max DB using the connection as
    jdbc:sapdb://DBServerName/DBName
    4. Yes it is sufficient because the Receiver Structure of JDBC is defined in such a manner.

    Dear Experts,
I have some doubts regarding below listed points. Please, help Me to find thesuitable answer for these.
*1.if multiple messages to be sent(IDOC) through same JDBC adapter, how we'll do it(THROUGH SAME jdbc Aadpter,in same config scenario)?*
*2.in receiver determination,if we have to send to multiple receivers according to payload content(conditional passing to receiver depends on payload),**how we'll acheive it?*
    *3.what is file content conversion?*
*4.why proxy is known as adpterless scenario?*
*5.in case of idoc/proxy why sender side no communication channel but in receiver side we are using communication channel?*
    **6.what is CCMS alert?
*7.in a file2file scenario,if we want to convert one file content to other file content in a different form(as x->1,y>2),*
    *how we'll acheive it?*
*7.if lots of data checkings are there in case of SAP R/3,by whcih way we'll go?(idoc/proxy/rfc)
*8.how we'll decide whether to go for SOAP scenario?*
*9.what is adapter module?whan we'll go for different adapter modules other than standard?*
*how we can develop our own adapter modules?*
*10. how to map one field to other field, when they are present in different noad with respect to source and target strucrture?*

  • Error when deploying JDBC file data source for J2EE agent in weblogic

    Hi ODI experts!
we're using ODI 11g and we've installed J2EE agents on weblogic. We need to configure a connection pool within weblogic for a file data source. Thus, we've added snpsFile.jar (that was shipped with ODI 10g...) to the weblogic config so that we can configure a JDBC connection to file.

    Hi!
Some information: I found this website [http://gerardnico.com/doc/odi/webhelp/en/refmanual/connexion/jdbcdriversample.htm] explaining that the 'old' snpsFile.jar driver was deprecated and that a new one was existing... but I can't find it anywhere!
    My questions are:
    - Can the problem (original problem. See initial post) be due to driver version?
    - Does someone know where to find this 'new' driver?
    Thanks for your help.

  • JDBC-FILE(Stored procedure)

    HI Experts,
I have a requirement as follows
    stored procedure->stored procedure->File.
ie initially a stored procedure would be executed(which i could execute with help of option in the jDBC communication channel). This would result in a resultset being given as output.
This will be associated with sender datatype. Now this is to be given as input to a second stored procedure.
The second stored procedure will return output which i need to map into a target file structure.
Can anybody guide me in this regard?Sender will be JDBC and target will be file adapter, but how can i execute the second stored procedure?
The blogs simply says the option for one stored procedure to file.Is there any other help or blogs?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
According to your requirement you are clubbing three scenarios into one:
    1) Source > XI <> JDBC(SP1)
    2) Continued from (1) JDBC(SP1) >XI <> JDBC(SP2)
    3) Continued from (2) JDBC(SP2) -->XI --> File.
Now you can decide what all objects you will need....the trick lies in how you are going to configure the Directory part for this.....
Include the necessary conditions in Receiver Determination (for sending message in the second point mentioned).....
The second communication should get iniated once you get some value from the call to SP1....this can be checked in Receiver Determination using the Exist (EX) condition...this will trigger the call to SP2.....same for SP2-----> File.
Just create a single Configuration Scenario in ID for this and include all the objects in it.
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • Doubt in any file to any file

    Hi guys,
I'm trying to do a scenario where my source file does not have any extension and i want to generate an output file with the file name = source filename  and with an extention .idoc.
Since this is an any file type scenario, I haven't used IR at all and I'm using ID only.
Can anyone help me in solving my doubt please
    Thanks
    Varun

    >>Variable substitution might not work if the source file is not XML.
Did not think of that at all.
    >>Instead wrtie a Module ( either in sender or receievr file adapter), that read the source file name from the Dynamic Confiugration and then add's the .bin to the file name in the module itself .
Clean way of solving this scenario.

    Hi comunity
I'm new in this Sap thing, I'm starting to work in sap, but previously I was planning to install it in my Laptop but I have a doubt, I did go to Download Sap netweaver trial version for 64 bits, i have w7 64 bits, but when i downloaded on Sunday it gives me 2 things to download Sap Trial version 1.7g, Sap executor 2.1g or something like that, I downloaded trial version, descompress it and start to follow the Gui, but later on I read,
    Welcome
    Contains
This package consists of two archives. Please download both to your local harddisk and unpack together......
Well i said myself i have to download the other archive.. i went to the same link netweaver trial version 64bits  and i found out another archive 3,8g that says trial version, i Said myself wtf? and started to downloaded again.... does this archive includes everything i need to install sap trial version or i need to install something else?? Pls helppppppp.
               Kindly Regards

    Hi,
You need to download both the files for installation.
One contains the executable progrm along with kernel etc.
The other archive contains the export, which is actually used to build up the database.
Also the blog might help in installation process:

    hi
SAP Defined some content already in Service market place for some scenarios, for examples for SRM server,XI Content are there in Service Market place.
When u Download this file It is in ZIP format.
After Extracting from Zip format it is in tpz format
This tpz format file importing into IR Then it shows Design objects like data, message typesetc
According that we have to work in ID.
For Importing the tpz file into IR is
    1.
    a)     Go to your XI home page, Administration -->In this under general information link you will find the location for the Import Folder.
    b) Now, go to the OS level and move the TPZ file in this import folder whose path you found in step 1.
c). After moving this file to the import folder, go to IR, Tools --> Import and you will be able to import the TPZ file.
    2.
    put the file into:
    <systemdir>/xi/repository_server/import
open repository and choose import from menu.
    Thanks
