  • The iPhone 4S battery runs down very quickly.   Does anyone else have this problem?

The battery in my new iPhone 4s runs down very quickly.  Does anyone else have this problem?

Location services is NOT running all the time, only when the arrow appears in the message bar. It is not a major consumer of power unless you are actively using it (such as using the Maps app), and even then it is a minor factor in battery life; loading maps is the big user of power in the Maps app. And turning off Location Services defeats Find my iPhone.
There are only 2 heavy battery consumers, cellular data and interactive games. Everything else (bluetooth, location services, WiFi, etc) are tiny in comparison to these and will not make a significant difference in battery life.

  • My iPad is a few years old but my battery is running down very quickly even when not in use? I have about 16% usage still available !

My iPad is a few years old but the battery is running down very quickly, is there anything I can do ?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. Those are not normal unless you are using apps that use a lot of power (like games & GPS apps).
Take it to an Apple store for a free consultation or take it back to where you purchased it. Make a backup in iTunes or iCloud before you go incase it needs to be exchanged.
It should have warranty for a year or more depending on your country & if you purchased Applecare.
I would also suggest you leave it powered off if it always gets hot & store it somewhere away from flammable materials – damaged batteries can be a fire risk.

  • IPod Battery Drains Very Quickly - NEW BATTERY 3 TIMES

    Hello all,
I have a problem with my iPod 5G 60gb video. I've had it for a few years, about a year ago it started losing its battery very quickly. I replaced the battery 2 or 3 times, but this did nothing. I can charge it up fine, but it seems it drains much quicker than normal. The main problem is that it drains even when the iPod is in sleep mode. If I leave it overnight, it will be dead in the morning.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a motherboard problem? I'm sure it's not the battery.
    Thanks.

    I forgot to add:
I restored the iPod via iTunes once, nothing changed. I turned backlight down all the way, no significant difference. I have no alarm clocks on, and turned off all clocks on the iPod as well.

  • My iphone is getting hot and draining the battery, it just started yesterday, I've had it for over a year with no problems

  • Software upgrade iOS 6.1.2 - since upgrading my software the battery life on my iPhone 4 goes down very quickly, will this be fixed with a further upgrade?

Just signing into this site and posting a question has used 21% of my battery life! Surely that's not right. Is Apple going to issue another upgrade from iOS 6.1.2 to fix this issue?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

  • IPhone App is crashing and been asking for support for 4 days with no luck, worst support ever!!

    PLATFORM AND VERSION
    iOS
ifood application closes as soon as it is launched.
    DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM
ifood application closes as soon as it is launched. tested it on xcode simulator locally and online, test devices directly through xcode and everything is working fine. also if it passed apple test how come it doesn't launch properly.
We have over 3000 users use the application daily this is extremely urgent ,  please let us know what we can do as soon as possible
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE
    launch application
we have contacted apple several times but with no luck! I am soooo disappointed with this kind of service ! there is no phone number to call and they baely reply to my emails! THIS IS AN EMERGENCY! our App has been down for 4 days and we are losing $$$$ every day!

I'm sorry that Apple couldn't help.  The reason why is because they can't support third party applications since iFood was not created by them.  They could get in huge trouble for supporting it.
It might be a glitch with that app itself.  But here are some steps to narrow down the issue to the resolution.
Make sure your phone is up to date.
Make sure the app is up to date.
Try uninstalling and then reinstalling the app.
Refresh the phone pressing home and power buttons simultaneously.  It won't erase your data.

  • My iPhone 3GS battery is running down too quickly

In the last few days, my iPhone has started running down *very* quickly. I have been running iOS 6.1 for ages without any problems. Could this all of a sudden cause problems like this?
I have disabled mobile data and 3GS and just left the clock, calendar and reminders running, but this has not helped. It was 100% charged when I went to sleep last night, and when I woke up this morning it was down to 20%.
Can anyone advise me on a way to fix this please?

Really... took me all of a minute to find http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802 which reveals:
    Battery life seems short
Note: Charging with a FireWire-based power source is not supported, except on original iPhone.
Click ( www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html) for tips on how to prolong iPhone's battery life.
Try turning  iPhone off and then on again.
Connect iPhone to iTunes and restore iPhone.
If the screen shows a low-battery image, the battery is low on power and needs to charge for up to ten minutes before you can use it.
When charging iPhone, make sure to leave it charging until it is fully charged. You'll know the battery is fully charged when the battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen looks like this .
Note: When charging using a   computer, don't connect iPhone to   a keyboard. Also, the computer must be turned on and not in sleep or standby mode. If iPhone is connected to a computer that's not turned on or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPhone battery may drain.

  • After updating to iOS5 my iPhone 4 gets warm and looses power very quickly. I reduced most of notifications.

I reduced most of the notations and made a hardware reset already. Still the power dropped down very quickly.
    Any ideas?

    Thank you for answering.
I resolved the problem. It is the interaction between MobilMe-Mail-account an iCloud. You have to erase the mobilme Mail-account on all devices after having transferred all data to icloud and desable all syncs (ical, bookmarks, etc.) exclude Mail in other accounts.
I did so and the iPhone battery-life acts as before having updated.
    Try it and good luck.

  • Battery Dying Very Quickly

In the past week my Samsung Galaxy S3 has been dying very rapidly. Before this started my battery would last the entire day. Beginning about a week ago I noticed that after a complete charge my battery will drain to 40% or 50% after just one hour and I am not even using it but for maybe 5 minutes during that hour. The battery continues to drain very quickly so I am constantly having to charge it during the middle of the day. I also noticed that if I am using it while it is charging the battery life will not increase, whereas before it would. Also, when the battery level gets low the message to plug in your charger appears, but when I hit "okay" the message just keeps reappearing over and over. Before it would just appear every few minutes or so. I did a cache wipe a few days ago which seemed to improve it for a day, but all the issues are reappearing.
Any ideas on what I should do?

There have been reports of the s3 battery charge not being detected correctly, and it stopping its charge when it thinks its at 100% even if it isn't. (However it was said to be happening with International versions as opposed to US versions). Someone reported that Samsungs website recommend turning off power saving, rebooting the phone, and then charging the phone to get it to report correctly. Don't know if that will work or not, but you could try it. If you haven't already looked up battery issues on the Samgsung website give that a try.

  • Macbook Shuts Down Very Very Slowly - Help please :(

Hi, my Macbook (Snow Leopard) has been able to shut down very quickly since I purchased Snow Leopard. However, just a few days back, it started to shut down very very slowly, often "lagging" or being "stuck" at a blue page before it actually switches itself off. I checked Console & thought these messages could probably be the reason why. But then again, I deleted iAntiVirus and such messages continue to appear.
    Can anyone help please? Thanks
