Downgrade 11g to 10g

Hi all
I have 2 questions
1) Is it possible to downgrade a the DB from 11.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.1.If yes please describe by step wise with syntax.
2)Now i have the export dump of 11g. How could i go for downgrade.
OR
I have 11g installed on the PC from where i can get the new export. Is it mandatory to install 10g on same machine for import towards downgrade. or that export can work with other machine?
Your precious ideas are warmly welcome...
Thanks in advance

  • Cloning Oracle 11g to 10g

    Hi Guru's,
    I have a query regarding clonning DB from 11g o 10g.
Machine A is on linux with DB Version 11g and machine B is on windows with DB Version 10g. Is it possible to clone DB 11g which is on Linux machine to DB 10g which is on Windows machine.
    Kindly advice over the same

By definition a clone is an exact copy, so if you clone your 11g DB you will have another 11g DB. The only way to make it 10g is to change it in some way. Downgrade, for example.
Have you already read through the Oracle docs?
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/backup.112/e10642/rcmxplat.htm#CHDFHBFI
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/backup.112/e10642/rcmdupdb.htm#i1008564
I very much doubt RMAN will allow you to downgrade the DB while duplicating it.

    Hi all,
I am importing an expdat.dmp which is an output of 11g to lower 10g db.
So I am using a 11g client to import it to 10g. But I can not understand why some tables got imported while others were not :(
The error said that the table already exist, when in fact is it not yet there.
Have you encountered this kind of issue?
Or how do I import a dump from 11g to 10g?
    Thanks a lot,

    Dear Friend,
We have set up for Physical stand by between two 10g instances.
Now its required to upgrade oracle version , but 1st we want to upgrade Primary DB version to 11g then later on stand by.
So is 11g to 10g DG is possible?, does logical standby support this? if yest then what will be process for same.

So is 11g to 10g DG is possible?nope, it would not make sense. a standby is for failover, how can you failover to an older release?
if you want a reporting system on an old release - ok (I wouldn't agree with you but whatever). You would do that using streams.

  • How to Downgrade Rpd From 11g to 10g???

    Hi all,
I want to know how to downgrade rpd from obiee 11.1.1.5 to obiee 10.1.3.4.
    please share the valuable links.
    Thanks.

First, you will have to completely uninstall 11g, see steps below:
    http://obiee911.blogspot.com/2013/01/uninstalling-obiee-11g-instance-on.html
This should be followed by installing 10g, and then applying 10g patches to reach 10.1.3.4.1 version. I hope you have all the right 10g installation files available. Im not sure if you can download them from Oracle anymore, please check before proceeding.

    Hi Mirza,
thanks for ur reply, but is there any way to downgrade the oracle client from 11g to 10gon server there more database so that we cannot unistall.
I believe you Install 11g client software on client machine, if its so you can safely uninstall it and Install 10g again.
If this 11g Installation configured on server with a database its a different scenario.
You question is not clear. Please elaborate it...
Also i dont think there is no such option for downgrading client.

  • OAM 11g Webgate 10g customized SSO logout page

As stated in the title, I am using OAM 11g and Webgate 10g. I am trying to create a customized SSO logout page but am confused on a few parts. First off, in http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/doc.1111/e15478/logout.htm#CHDHFGJC , it states the following step for their logout.html:
Logic in logout.html redirect to the OAM Server. For example:
    http://myoamserverhost:port/oam/server/logout?end_url=http://my.site.com/
welcome.htmlMy question is if this is truely required? Or is there a way to have OAM invalidate the session and do its internal part of the logout procedures without needing to force the user to redirect to the OAM server's logout URL (eg: it automatically recognizes that the Webgate URL is "...../logout.html" and handles it properly). From talking to colleagues it sounds like this should be possible, and I see some mentions of it in the above documentation, but this appears to be 11g OAM and 11g Webgate behavior. At the same time though, the line "Logout is initiated when an application causes the invocation of the logout.html file configured for any registered OAM 10g Webgate." Leads me to believe that it can work with 10g webgate as well.
Or, is there a way to have multiple valid logout pages on the OAM server? (There is currently a customized logout page that we cannot modify, and does not meet all the requirements we have for look/feel)
    Thank you

  • Getting error while upgrading rpd to 11g from 10g

    Hello,
I have a rpd using obiee 10g.I want to open the same in obiee 11g,but getting error like need to run one file.
    obieerpdmigrateutil.exe.
So i just run with -i,-u and -o option, that now i am getting this error->
The file 'DBFeatures.INI' is required for RPD migration and could not be located. Please ensure that ORACLE_INSTANCE is pointing to a valid instance directory.
    Thanks

    Hi akshara,
Firstly you need to upgrade from 10g to 11g,you need to run a .bat file from the path and follow some steps like collecting the artifact files like NQSconfig.ini,instanceconfig.xml,DBfeatures.ini with RPD and catalog to upgrade to 11g.
Here is the step by step process to upgrade and some artifact files manually given in step 2 of this blog http://prolynxuk.com/blog/?p=424
    http://www.biconsultinggroup.com/images/VideoAlbum/OBIEE11gUpgrade11-4-10.pdf
(OR) standard documentation Start here http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E1457101/bi.htm_
If still the problem exists you manually update the DBfeature.ini file going to the specific location in 10g and copy them to 11g path.
    hope helps you.
    Cheers,
    KK
