Download error with large video

I am tearing my hair out :-) I am getting a download error saying "Could not connect to server at this time" when using a large video - the problem seems to be size related. No issues with smaller videos (up to around 80mb) but my final edit comes to 400mb. Errors trying to download from the iPad. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  • Download errors with movie rentals

I have a 32 GB iPAD with almost nothing loaded up yet. I tried to download two movies directly on to my ipad via the itunes store app on it. The movies started downloading until they suddenly stopped and it says on my ipod "download error tap to retry" . I retried it and it did the same thing so i waited a couple days and retried and it said the same error message. I already paid for these 2 movies is there any way i can download them?..

I have the same issue on my brand new 32GB Wifi iPad bought in Montreal. Tried to download a rental in HD from the itunes store directly to the iPad. It almost completely downloaded and then upon checking the status of the download it said download error. Music video's, music, and apps all download just fine. When I tried "check for downloads" in iTunes on my Mac, it does not show up, and now I cant delete the space the partially downloaded rental occupies :S.

  • Trouble with large videos

I'm wondering if anyone has had any trouble with large videos in their stacks?  We are using a clip that weighs in at about 311 MB and my art director is reporting some trouble getting it into InDesign.
A shorter clip weighing in at 170 MB is working just fine.
    Any ideas?

That is a pretty small file for being 7 hours long.
Have you tried using interpolation and converting the hours, seconds and frames into all seconds or does that defeat the object of the composition? I have a bunch of movies taken with the same camera and some do not provide a timecode. Has been an issue for me for a while. In X.6.+ even apple created comps cause the finder and QC to crash. • Getting download error message for video on iPad

Purchased a "Rambo" set of three videos and can't download. Keep getting a "download error" message. What to do. Think it has something to do with the fact that there are more than one movie t,o download.

    Hi Gail,
You have a number of separate questions here.
+The G3 has AW 6.04 installed on it but I can't burn a CD to move it to the G4. It will no longer be used on the G3.+
AW 6.0.4 will run only on OS 9 and earlier. You will need to update it before or after moving it to the G4. If your G3 has a firewire port, you should be able to connect it to the G4 with a Firewire cable, startup the G3 in Target mode (hold down the T key from the startup chime to the appearance of the Firewire smbol on the display). Then startup the G4 and the G3 will show up as an external Firewire drive on the G4's desktop. Copy the AppleWorks 6 folder to the Applications folder on the G4.
+I downloaded the update AW 6.2.9 to the G4 but got this error message. " The disk image you are opening may be damaged and could damage your system." I have not opened it to install it. Why did I get that message, what are the odds that it will damage my system?+
The message could simply mean what it says, and that would be the cautious interpretation. Delete the file and repeat the download. There's not much point in opening/mounting the disk image until you have a copy of the AW 6 folder and its contents in the Applications folder on the G4. The update installer won't do anything if it doesn't find the application there to update.
+Some of the data was converted from Microsoft office to AW. Will it convert back to office?+
There should be no problem, provided you have an AW to MS translator for the appropriate MS application. ("No problem" other than the usual ones concerning embedded frames—graphics, spreadsheets or tables—these tend to not translate well in either direction.
    Regards,
    Barry

  • Out of Memory Error and large video files

I created a simple page that links a few large video files (2.5 gig) total size. On Preview or FTP upload Mues crashes and gives a Out of Memory error. How should we handle very large files like this?

Upload the files to your host using an FTP client (i.e. Filezilla) and hyperlink to them from within your Muse site.
Muse is currently not designed to upload files this large. The upload functionality takes the simple approach of reading an entire linked file into RAM and then uploading it. Given Muse is currently a 32-bit application, it's limited to using 2Gb of RAM (or less) at any given time regardless of how much RAM you have physically installed. We should add a check to the "Link to File..." feature so it rejects files larger than a few hundred megs and puts up a explanation alert. (We're also hard at work on the move to being a 64-bit app, but that's not a small change.)
In general your site visitor will have a much better experience viewing such videos if you upload them to a service like YouTube or Vimeo rather than hosting them yourself. Video hosting services provide a huge amount of optimization of the delivery of video that's not present for a file hosted on standard hosting (i.e. automatic resizing of the video to the appropriate resolution for the visitor's device (rather than potentially downloading a huge amount of unneeded data), transcoding to the video format required by the visitor's browser (rather than either having to due so yourself or have some visitors unable to view your video), automatic distribution of a highly viewed video to multiple data centers for better performance in multiple geographies, and no doubt tons of other stuff I'm not thinking of or am ignorant of.

  • Download Error with iTunes 10.2.1 "source file could not be read"

I recently had to restore my iPod due to some issues I was having. After it was done wiping the iPod, a message on my computer told me that after my computer restarted (automatically), I needed to keep my ipod connected so it could re-sync with my backup file. When it restarted, I waited awhile for my ipod to show up in itunes, but unfortunately it never did. I then went to the support page for this, which I have had to do in the past, and I learned that I had to completely reinstall itunes. This is the second time in the past month I have had to do this. I deleted all of the necessary files mentioned on the support page and then restarted my computer. I then went to the itunes download page and clicked download iTunes 10.2.1, the latest version, which is the same version I had before I uninstalled it.
    _*THE ERROR:*_
About 30 seconds into the download, I get an error message that reads:
    "Download Error
/Users/Berry/Downloads/iTunes10.2.1.dmg could not be saved, because the source file could not be read"
This did not happen last time I had to do this re-installation process.
Thanks in advance for any help and sorry for the long post.

Whats the problem with this thing?
One thing i can tell is that i changed some settings in Micromedia Flash, because i learned that they where spying on US, then boom no more download. It stops and tell me it could not be read from the server. Dont remember if it started right after i changed the settings, but its driving me nuts

  • Software available for working with large video files?

    Hello,
I'm working in PP CS6. I was wondering if there are any workarounds or 3rd party plugins/software that
make working with really large video files easier and faster?
    Thanks.
    Mark

    Hi Jeff,
Thanks for helping. This is the first time I shot video with my Nikon D5200. It was only a 3 minute test clip
set at the highest resolution, 1920x1080-60i. I saw the red line above the clip in PP CS6 and hit the enter
    key to render the clip.
It took almost 18 minutes or so to render the clip. This is probably normal but I was wondering if there is
a way to reduce the file size so it doesn't take quite as long to render. I just remember a few years back
that when the Red camera was out, guys were working with really huge files and there was a program
from Cine something that they used to reduce the file size and make it more manageable when editing.
I could be mistaken. I've been out of the editing look for a few years and just getting back into it.
    Thanks.

  • Cap 6.1 - Error with .flv videos in quiz

I have 5 .flv videos in a quiz and they used to work flawlessly. I had some install/uninstall/subscription issues and inadvertently updated captivate from 6.0 to 6.1 (dont know if this is the issue) and ever since I have had errors.
The error is easily noticable in preview mode as the video overtakes the quiz and doesnt let you see any of the quiz questions. When I publish to Adobe Connect (the quiz is for an elearning webinar) everything works fine except for 2 major errors: 1. You cannot interact with the video skin (ie play/pause/playbar/etc.) 2.There is a "full screen" option in a connect pod that is sharing a file, if you click this the video goes full screen and only goes away with the esc key, once it goes away the "submit" button no longer works so youre stuck and cannot complete the quiz.
I can send the file to anyone who wants to take a look, the error should be pretty evident when you preview. If you preview in captivate, the video shows up and blacks the quiz out, if you preview in web browser it gives you the issues that I have in connect. I believe they are the same errors in different formats.
As a temporary workaround I have:
-removed the skin and just looped the video to remove any interactivity with the video
-instructed the presenter/host to advise the 40 person elearning class to NOT press "full screen" under any circumstances
However I am still looking for a solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a class that starts at  7 ET/4 Pacific
    Thanks
    Corey Hammond

Once I got the project all set again, previewed successfully both in captivate and in web browser, I went to publish in connect. When publishing in connect it gave the same error I had a month or so ago:
"Failed to publish your project to the Adobe Connect Server. Verify your network connection and try again"
    (see my other thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/5510327#5510327)
Now this was frustrating coming across this again when I thought this problem was solved a while back. I went into a chat session with an adobe support person and screen shared and his conclusion was that a couple slides were problematic. I again scrapped the whole file, re-did the project, and published to connect. It worked and I had successful publish. The problem? I went to test it in connect/preview/web browser and it has the same bug as before (as mentioned in the first post of this thread). Needless to say, I almost threw my computer out the window.
I have now gone full circle TWICE experiencing both issues at opposite ends of my laps and it is starting to get frustrating. I am thinking it is a bug, might never have a solution, which is disheartening.
Anyone willing to take a stab at it is welcome, im at my rope's end...

  • Download Error with Donna Hay Magazine

Hope someone can help. I purchased Donna Hay Magazine through Itunes store. The first five copies downlowded fine and then i gote the message " Cannot Update Library" An error has occurred"
I was then charged for the next subscription automatically and since February this year have not been able to download any issues. I have tried deleted the Donna Hay app twice and reinstalling but still the same message.
Appreciate any ideas on how this can be fixed.

I've had this error with my GQ and Mens Health Magazines on my ipad, and this is what fixed it for both magazines.  Go to the "Library" inside each magazine app.  Then click on the gear symbol in the upper right corner, and choose "remove issues from ipad".  Then select the issues that had this error message, and remove them.  Afterwards, you re-download with no probems.

Trying to download a movie from itunes after a few minutes of downloading I receive a constant download error message with no error code, trying again several times in different days and is the same, I have tryed with two different connections and the problem remains.

    Hey 321Tammy,
Thanks for the question, I can definitely understand how frustrating this situation can be. What is the error message you receive when you attempt to download the movie? You can check the following resource for possible errors and solutions:

  • Premiere Pro 2.0 slows when dealing with larger video files

I'm having issues with Premiere Pro 2.0 slowing to a crawl and taking 60-90 seconds to come back to life when dealing with larger .avi's (8+ mins). When I try to play a clip on the timeline, drag the slider over said clip, or play from a title into said clip on the timeline, Premiere hangs. The clips on question are all rendered, and the peak file has been generated for each different clip has well. This is a new problem; the last time I was working with a larger clip (45+ mins, captured from a Hi-8 cam), I had no problems. Now, I experience this slow down with all longer clips, although I've only dealt with footage captured from a Hi-8 cam and also a mini-DV cam. This problem has made Premiere nearly unusable. I'm desperate at this point.
    System:
    CPU: P4 HT 2.4ghz
    Ram: 2x 1gb DDR
    Video: ATI Radeon 9000 Series
Scratch Disk: 250gb WD My Book - USB 2.0 (I suspect this might be part of the problem)
    OS: XP Pro SP2
I'm not on my machine right now, and I can definitely provide more information if needed.
    Thanks in advance.

Aside from some other issues, I found that USB was just not suited for editing to/from, and on a much faster machine, that you list.
FW-400 was only slightly better. It took FW-800, before I could actually use the externals for anything more than storage, i.e. no editing, just archiving.
    eSATA would be even better/faster.
Please see Harm's ARTICLES on hardware, before you begin investing.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
[Edit] Oops, I see that Harm DID link to his articles. Missed that. Still, it is worth mentioning again.
Also, as an aside, PrPro 2.0 has no problem on my workstation when working with several 2 hour DV-AVI's, even when these are edited to/from FW-800 externals.

  • Download Error with TI DSP Toolkit with Code Composer

I have used TI DSP Toolkit with Code Composer to interface with code composer and LabVIEW. I am able to open the project, build the project etc. When I am downloading my binary to the DSP, the application is throwing error saying memmory address could not be validated. I am using emulator to download the code. I am able to download the code when I am using flash programmer option available with the code composer IDE. Any help to resolve the issue is highly appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Anurag

    Hi Anurag,
The DSP toolkit is only compatable with a few pieces of hardware.  You can find that information at this link.  If you are not using the mentioned hardware then there is no guarantee that it will work.  The reason you get the memory error is because MAX, and hence LabVIEW, does not recognize the device.  It makes sense that it works when you use your own software to flash the program because you are bypassing the NI software that is not compatable with that device.  Unfortunately, unless you are using one of the specific pieces of supported hardware there isn't much more we can do.  I would recommend that if you are able to get your program to work using the flash mode, then just continue to do that way instead of trying to download it with the emulator.  Thanks and have a great day.
